Because of the positive Yelp reviews and a craving for stuffed grape leaves, I schlepped to Noor from the South End. Hummus and chicken shwarma were good but that's all they had!! No sarma, no soup, no bibee balls, and NO sympathy from the guys behind the counter. Major bummer. And the frozen fries were gross but I might not have noticed if they had ketchup that wasn't the watery generic packets. If all you want is hummus and shwarma, go for it. If you're looking for anything beyond that, don't count on it. Hope they get their act together. read more

Ordered the chicken shawerma for lunch on a Friday. Was impressed with the freshness if the food particularly the garlic sauce. The salad was tasty. The pita was slightly stale and the shawerma had a large proportion of very well done pieces, but overall it was great. Will be going back for sure. read more

I received a delivery order that came right on time. Paid and ordered with my phone, so easy! I had the Noor Trio. All of the meat was tender and tasty. The tabbouli was delicious as well. Both dishes were so big, I got 3 meals out of it! I will definitely order again and will recommend to the family. Looking forward to trying other dishes. read more

I have been searching for a decent shawarma roll in Boston ever since I moved here. Finally found an above average roll. Tried the chicken and the beef shawarma rolls. Both were excellent. The meat was tender but crispy and flavorful. The veggies were oh so fresh. Both the tahini and garlic sauce were good. I will be ordering my shawarmas from noor here on out. My only complaint is about the pita bread...I wish they would use a better bread. read more

I've only ordered delivery so I can't comment on the physical place but the food is delicious and the delivery is fast. My husband loves the Noor Trio but I get the chicken kabob dinner every time. Chicken and rice is awesome but the garlic sauce is the thing that puts this place above the rest. It is just awesome. Be prepared, you will smell and taste garlic for the next 24 hours but it is totally worth it. Noor is our new favorite. read more

I like the small menu because everything on it is delicious. I think I've tried 3/4 of the choices and loved everything. Not like some places where the attraction seems to be 'we make 100 mediocre dishes!' Growing up in a Middle Eastern household, my standards for noor were high and I must say that they met and exceeded my expectations across the board. The Falafel was perhaps the best I've ever had and the hommous, mutabel (baba ganoush to some), koufta (kibbe), and lula kebab were all fantastic. we left full and happy!! read more

We were so excited when Noor opened down the street from us. Proper Lebanese food is hard to find in Somerville and Noor does it so very well. The delightful family who owns it is Lebanese-Armenian and they bring unique flavors and a home-cooking sensibility to their food. It's so good I've developed a once a week habit and by now I've eaten EVERYTHING on their menu at least once and I've yet to be disappointed. My wife loves the chicken shawerma and I adore the lule kebab. Delicious variety of Mediterranean dishes served by friendly owner. The gyros are scrumptious with tender, well seasoned chicken or meat, and are served in a crispy wrap with very flavorful sauce. We are from NJ and love this kind of food. We can't get it where we live and found the place on yelp. Well...gotta tell you fantastic. This place used to be amazing and I ordered from them so many times but recently delivery takes close to 2 hours and the last time I didn't even get what I ordered. Salad dressing was missing and toppings on the schwarma were totally off. They compensated with a credit which I appreciated but I can't wait 90 minutes for schwarma and a salad. Never mind that the schwarma wrap is always soggy now and half the size it used to be. I used to like it so much that I'll probably give it one more chance before declaring 3 strikes, you're out....fingers crossed. read more

For falafel there is stiff competition. For my money (and less of it to boot) the place around the corner which doesn't make you choose BETWEEN tahini and hummus is a much better bet all around. I got the Fattoush Salad Crisp Romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, purslane, parsley, pita chips, extra virgin olive oil and pomegranate infused dressing, plus beef which was amazing! I was expecting something quite good by all the rave reviews. I must have a very different taste palate. I had the beef shwarma...which I admit I have not had before so I don't have a comparison. But if you like fatty, grizzled meat that tastes of vinegar then you'll love this. The hummus was gritty and tasteless , the tahini was runny and tasteless, the salad dressing was tasteless. Hmmm...a theme is running through this review. The one exception was the rice was tasty albeit a bit salty. I've been there a couple of times and have not been disappointed yet. My husband is Armenian first generation American born but grew up with the food prepared by old country parents. While there are different foods for each area of the Mediterranean, they all share some characteristics. I was taught methods by my mother in law that are different that Noor but the end results are still very good. They are being prepared for large groups not a small family gathering. Yikes! I have been a frequent customer, but my take out order tonight arrived cold and upside down. The rice, kebab, fattoush salad, hummus, and pita bread were completely jumbled together in every way possible. Which, given I paid extra for the fattoush salad, is extra disappointing since I couldn't even really tell that it was there! I think it got soaked in the hummus, mostly. The meat was cold, and my order arrived very quickly, which makes me think it could not have been hot when it left the restaurant.
