Noor Mediterranean Grill is one of my favorite places to order food! Their baba dip is INCREDIBLE and such a generous portion for a side dish. We always order the veggie lovers plate and chicken shawarma dinner, and it's enough for 4 full meals. The garlic dip is delicious and perfect to drizzle over the chicken or lightly dip with pita. The kibbee balls weren't my favorite, but the falafel balls are really great. The food is also prepared quickly and we've never had any problems with delivery. I had Noor for dinner Saturday, ordered lunch the next day (Sunday), ordered it again for dinner Sunday, then I had leftovers for breakfast Monday morning. Why would Lee eat the same thing for almost 3 days straight? Because it's THAT goooooooooooood. That's why! They have the best falafel I've ever tasted! They also make their Falafel with Foul mudammas which is one of the better ways to make it. The crust... OMG! Crispy... Crunchy... I feel like a Butterfinger commercial. Then you bite into it and taste the soft fluffy filling (one moment, I'm having Falafel flashbacks right now). Their hummus is great also and the garlic sauce is similar to my family recipe, but it needs a little lemon in my opinion. The grape leaves are tasty but cost $1.50 PER leaf (a bit steep for my liking). Otherwise, the food is bomb.com. Very fresh. Super tasty. Great portions. We decided to enter this establishment as a means to indulge in our infinite curiosity of the Mediterranean culinary arts. We walked through the brisk Somerville weather and found ourselves in a store that was cramped but welcoming. It was here that we knew our destinies would be changed forever: another establishment we could frequent. We ordered two Noor plates, one with chicken and one with beef that comes with french fries. However, we found ourselves forced to purchase drinks, there was no free water. We sat there parched until we finally succumbed to the capitalistic greed of our society. The french fries were admittedly quite homely, they lacked a certain je ne sais quoia -- quite bland but still tasteful. The food was amazing. Five stars for the food. First time customer, I ordered delivery via Yelp. The food came fast (20 min earlier than stated), hot and fresh! Got a chicken shawarma wrap with hummus, tomato, lettuce, onion (those options were at no additional cost), and fries. Literally first time I've ever gotten delivered fries hot and crispy! The food was VERY generously portioned, couldn't finish it all for lunch (my photo only captures 3/4 of the wrap). It was more meat than I wanted but I can say you'll get your money's worth. For what it was, it was very healthy-- not oversalted, juicy chicken, fresh veggies. It wasn't the best tasting marinade I've had in a shawarma but still good and I'd come again to try their other options, or for a satisfying delivery experience. Noor is a convenient option when you want your Mediterranean food fix - fast. However, I've had better in the area. We arrived at 9pm on a Thursday night. When a chicken shawerma plate was ordered, the man informed us that the chicken had already run out for the day. We could get beef shawerma or kebabs. Beef it is then. We also got a falafel plate. Maybe it was an off night, but both the beef shawerma and falafel balls were a bit off. The beef was dry and lacking flavor. The falafel were overly fried, making them heavy and very hard to cut. The fries and salad were nothing special. The rice was pretty good, as were the hummus and YES to the tangy garlic sauce (although be warned: your breath WILL still smell like it the next day). It was also very hot inside, as there is no A/C and just one fan running in the back. And there's no tap water available (you can only buy bottles), so I wouldn't necessarily eat inside again. A good option would be to get it to-go and eat outside in Powderhouse Park. But a better option would be to just go somewhere else. read more

Tasty and reasonably priced. The shop is fairly small, but clean. They seem to get a lot of delivery orders and takeout, which makes sense. Sitting near the window gives a surprisingly nice view of the adjacent Nathan Tufts Park. Food came out quick, and the price was not bad for the portion sizes. I ordered the chicken kabab wrap with garlic sauce and all the toppings. Everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned, and the garlic flavor really complemented the chicken. My friend had the beef Noor Works wrap (tahini sauce), which is the shawarma with a side of fries. Not sure why the chicken kabab doesn't have a "works" version with fries, but there was plenty to share regardless. The beef shawarma was even better than the kabab, and had just the right touch of saltiness. Fries wise, pretty good. They had a nice crunchy outside, but felt a little less flavorful, though entirely enjoyable. Both wraps were quite big, and left us stuffed afterwards. All told, a great little place for some simple Mediterranean fare. Try the Noor Works with beef, and you won't be disappointed. read more

A friend told me to check this place out because she heard great things about the falafel. The falafel was tasty and rolled in the large thin pita bread, which I love. It had pickles in it which are necessary for a falafel to be authentic. My only gripe is that there wasn't enough tahini sauce, but I did get an extra thing of it and they gave it to me happily and the tahini sauce had no salt in it. Would I go there again? Maybe, I'm certainly not against it. Like I said, it was a good falafel sandwich, just not perfect to my picky Lebanese standards. I would recommend them to other people. read more

No one makes falafel like them, and my boyfriend loves their shawarma and says it reminds him of growing up in the Middle East (I'll take his word for it; I don't eat meat). Besides the falafel and shawarma, Nick loves the kafta & tells everyone how delicious it is! & their fatoosh and veggie roll-ups are delicious too! Arsen runs a wonderful restaurant -- he and his employees all take great care of us when we stop in. You can taste the love in every bite! Arsen and his team really care about the food and their customers. We have been really cautious about going out due to COVID, and we are relieved by the precautions that Arsen takes at Noor. I had the beef shawarma and it was fantastic. When I asked about the garlic sauce because I wasn't sure if I wanted to order that as my side they gave it to me on the house and told me to choose another side as well. They were so friendly and welcoming to us five out of towner's. The place was recommended by a local and she did not steer us wrong, I wish we had a place like this in St. Louis! Everyone had something different. I loved the beef Shawarma and the hummus, and was grateful for all the veggies on the plate. I tasted the falafel which was also fantastic. The food is tasty, fresh and feels healthy. It's always pretty consistent, I've had the steak shawarma, chicken swarma, and chicken kabob. All are good options depending on what you're in the mood for. Sometimes the swarma can be a tad dry, but still tender and flavorful. Extra star for great customer service. They made a mistake on my delivery order and it took over 90 minutes to arrive. They fully refunded the cost of my order and still delivered hot/fresh food. Wow. Little did I realize that Chicken Shawerma could be elevated to such a sublime experience. Freshly grilled chicken, vegetables, and the best hummus this side of Watertown!. I'm going back for more ;-) Completely family run,- it's like your dining at the home of the Karageozian's (the owners). Menu selection is a bit limited, beef, chicken, falafel, tabbouli, fattoush, etc. It's good to do a few things really well, and I hope that this does not limit the repeat business. I do wish Noor Mediterranean Grill much success as we need more freshly prepared and healthy food close to the Tufts Campus and true middle-eastern restaurants are under-represented in and around Davis Square. RICE RICE BABY! I love rice. I love rice pilaf! Noor gave me a very hearty portion of rice that complimented my chicken shwarma lovely. Last night, we got some delivery from Noor. It came within 20 minutes! And it was early! That was a pleasant surprise. Their baba dip is so smoky and the portion, like the rice was huge! No complaints there! The pita bread was nice and fresh and soft. So comforting! The side that I got with my shwarma was a salad that I didn't particularly like and hummus that while had a great texture and flavor was not something I'd get again because there was cumin in it and I detest cumin. I realize this is a Middle Eastern restaurant so obviously the spices will be up there, this is not a complaint - just something I personally don't really want in my food. I still will get my rice and shwarma again (first shwarma of my life). I think their tabbouli is pretty good too. Lots of parsley. Their garlic dip is good and has pomegranate seeds. Nice touch! I saved my review and am finishing it now...needed to add that I've now eaten from Noor twice! We will be back (for delivery)! read more

We ordered a delivery order. The ETA was 1 hour but they came in 30 minute. After we checked our food, we noticed hummus was missing. We were so hungry and didn't have energy to call so we just ate. In the middle of it, the delivery guy came back just go give us the hummus and complimentary dessert for having forgotten one of our orders. Never ever had this type of service from a restaurant in Boston. The food seemed pricey at first but we were able to eat them in 2 meals. Good price, good food, great service. The chicken shawarma here, oh my god. First of all it's huge. I was wondering why it costed $9. It literally needs two hands to hold and its heavy... It was perfect, the best shawarma i've ever had. My friend ordered the Noor Trio, which is three types of meat, with rice and salad. I'm definitely going to order that next time. Tabouli is amazing The inside of Noor Grill is very pleasant. Its immaculately clean and definitely a place you can dine-in at. The service is great, Armen (the owner) is so friendly and knows what he's doing in the kitchen. The best thing is that delivery is free and they're open till 12:00 am on Fridays and Saturdays. (Dine in till 10pm, deliveries only after). Its such a nice alternative to pizza. Having a place to order healthy and inexpensive food from late at night is definitely a game changer. read more

You may tell yourself you have to try EVERYTHING on the menu AT LEAST once, but then justify your ordering of Chicken Shawarma three times (in a row) because you just had to try it with garlic sauce, and then you had to try it with hummus and garlic sauce and then tahini and hummus. Have you gotten through the whole menu yet? No, but that's just fine, because now you have an excuse to order on a friday and eat in on a tuesday (they'll never know since you ordered right?) You will ask, no--implore, er.. beg your friends to come here at least once a week.. ok, twice. And of course, your friends will oblige, and if they don't, you need new friends. In all seriousness though, this place is incredible. And what makes it so is not just the food, which is fresh, high quality, and delicious. What makes it really truly special is the people that own this place. I had never met Arsen or Hilda before Noor opened, but when my friend and I started showing up here for our bi-weekly shawarma 'crack' fixes, we really got to know them. Wow. Wow, wow, wow. If you are looking to have your perception of Mediterranean food elevated to a new level, and at a BARGAIN price, look no further. Noor Mediterranean Grill is undoubtedly some of the best, authentic Mediterranean food I have ever had. This business was open all day and night during the February 5, 2014 snow storm. The food, even as the restaurant was closing down, was stellar. Every ingredient is noticeably fresh, and Arsen (the owner and executive chef) develops unique, complex flavors out of seemingly simple ingredients. The food is of an obvious higher quality than anything else in the area, and makes Amsterdam Falafel in Davis look like it started making falafel yesterday. Both the beef and chicken shawarmas are uniquely seasoned and cooked to the perfect tenderness. The falafel is handmade from scratch -- no powders here. Oh, and it would be a sin to go and not try some of the garlic cream sauce. That sauce is purely legendary. Even the rice is cooked and seasoned to perfection, and all of the selections for side dishes compliment each other wondrously. To top it off, Arsen is an extremely nice guy. He gave me 20% off my entire order for coming to pick up my meal in the snow. Nothing better than a good cook with great business ethics. Ultimately, this is by far and away the best food (let alone of the Mediterranean variety) in the immediate area. Tufts Jumbos have a lot to look forward to, as this place accepts ALL major credit cards (yes, AmEx included) and is planning on taking Jumbo Cash in the immediate future. read more

I'm Lebanese so I'm picky about my Lebanese/Mediterranean food and, in my opinion, Noor is fantastic! I have only given 4 starts instead of 5 simply because I haven't tried everything yet. Their kibbee balls are perfect. The hummus and the tabbouli is great,. I thought the falafel plate was a perfect portion, the rice was delicious and the falafel wasn't too dry. Their garlic sauce is AMAZING! I was traveling down to a Lebanese grocery store in Norwood when I needed some so I am so happy they serve it and it's so good. I just ordered the Greek salad with chicken - I wish there was a little more chicken on it - but the dressing is great and the salad is very fresh! All in all, the food is great, the portions are just right, and I'm so happy to have a Mediterranean place in Medford. I hope they have continued success! read more

I went here a coupe weeks ago and it was really fantastic! I got the chicken shawarma and it was absolutely amazing. I recently moved from Allston where I was spoiled with Garlic n' Lemons, and this place might be on par with them. I wouldn't say this place is any cheaper than the other Mediterranean places around but it's definitely not more expensive. The food is fresh, the restaurant itself is clean, modern, and welcoming. My only complaint is that my order took a little longer than expected. I'm assuming it was a mix of them having just opened and being there a half hour before closing. That said, my wrap was totally worth it and I'm sure they'll be working out the kinks in the coming weeks. This place is a great addition to the area and any fan of Mediterranean food should check it out! They are the nicest people and the food is top notch. read more

These guys opened up shop about two days ago and honestly I can't believe Broken Yolk used to share the same space. Noor is clean, crisp, and hip in the same way Broken Yolk was classic and grungy, very New Somerville vs Old Somerville, and in this battle, Noor won. I was feeling indecisive so I got the noor trio (beef kebab, chicken kebab, lule kebab) and I subbed the regular salad for fattoush salad. Of the kebabs, the beef was definitely the best. Juicy, perfectly cooked, wonderfully seasoned. The lule was a meat patty thing, so not chunks of meat but sort of like a grilled flattened meatball, still solidly tasty. Coming in third was the chicken, which tasted like chicken and was solidly average. The fattoush salad was tasty though the dressing was a bit too strong for me but was great when mixed with the meat. This also all came with pita, hummus, and garlic cream. The garlic cream is STRONG, so don't take a huge spoonful of it without tasting it first (good, but strong). Hummus was hummus, pita was pita, nothing new there. One day I'll do a taste test between their falafel and Amsterdam Falafel's falafel, but that day was not today. All in all, not my new favorite place, but they've definitely earned solid consideration for future lunches. read more

I've been in the New England area for around 4 months now and this place, without exaggeration, is the best food I've eaten so far. I ordered the chicken noor classic with garlic and the chicken was smokey, juicy, and flavorful. While the chicken on its own would have warranted 5 stars, the accompanying onions, tomatoes, and other garnishes only enhanced the flavor. I also got fries and baklava on the side, which were not good but not bad. I paid $16 for the entire meal with a soda, which is pretty pricy, but the main dish was so good I didn't mind splurging a bit for a mouthful of flavorful goodness. I ordered through Foodler- because they were the only Mediterranean place listed that didn't have a $5.99 delivery fee- and I am so glad I did! I ordered a Chicken Shawarma wrap, which came with fries, and some Baba Ganoush. The wrap was really, really good. The meat was nice and moist, well-seasoned without being overly salted. I had it with the tahini sauce which was awesome! It had these nice pickles, lettuce and onions (I had them hold the tomatoes) and was wrapped in a nicely grilled pita. It was huge- I have the other half in the fridge for dinner. Fries were standard frozen type- but still hot when they arrived. The Baba Ganoush- oh. my. goodness. SO, SO good! A lot of restaurants leave too much of the charred skin on before blending, which gives it an ashy taste, but this had a nice, smoky undertone which brought out the taste of the eggplant and garlic. There were several pomegranate seeds on top, which was a nice twist. What made the meal, however, was how incredibly nice the staff was. They had forgotten the pita that came with the Baba Ganoush so I called them and, not only were they really nice about it- they brought it right over and threw in some awesome Armenian Honey Balls- which are absolutely sinful! I will definitely order from here again- and I really hope they add desserts to their Foodler menu- I would definitely order them! read more

One thing that always ticks me off are places which do not provide free tap water for the customers. I mean how hard is it? Especially when your restaurant is so near to a university and the majority of the crowd are students (Tufts). Not fun when you have to buy water too! The food wasn't great either. We got one falafel wrap and the falafels were undercooked and not crunchy. Amsterdam falafel in Davis is wayyyy better and cheaper. Another of us got a beef shawarma. This place is becoming my new favorite.. Pros: -Amazing service. Very friendly staff. My boyfriend and I went in for dinner the other night and decided to try one of their desserts. We were short one dollar, and the owner insisted we take one of the baklava for free (which was delicious!) We put the $2 in their tip jar. -THE FOOD IS SO GOOD I can't even tell you. Beef, chicken, veggie, hummus.. Have yet to try some of their dinner plates, but the Shawerma and falafel is amazing. Not overly spiced, crisp, fresh veggies, meat cooked and seasoned perfectly.. So good!! -Good location. Much quieter and less busy than Davis. -Foodler and Grubhub! Their no delivery fee/low minimum is awesome, and your order is done QUICK. Love it! -DId I mention the staff??? They're great. Extremely friendly and accommodating. Cons: -Although it seems a little pricy, at least with the shawerma and dinner plates you get a *lot* of food, so can't complain there. The kibbee balls are a little pricy for what you get, but the quality is exceptional. -Credit/debit minimum. Be prepared to buy one of the larger plates or bring cash. Not a big deal, just a slight bummer. -The desserts are a little pricy but again, they're delicious and definitely worth the extra $$.
