I recently visited Bill Black Chevrolet to look at a used 2018 Toyota Tundra Platinum, and I want…read moreto share an honest and professional review of my experience. First, I'll say the truck itself looked great both inside and out. The dealership had it cleaned up very well, and overall it made a strong first impression. I also appreciated that the staff was polite and initially willing to work with me on pricing, which I respect. However, while inspecting the truck more closely, I noticed what appeared to be a leak underneath--specifically around the rear main seal area, with fluid reaching the control arm. I brought this to the attention of both the salesman and the manager. At first, there was some hesitation, and I was encouraged to focus on the deal itself, with mention of recent work done on the truck such as new brakes, resurfaced rotors, a tire rotation, and an oil and filter change. After asking if their mechanic could take another look just to be sure nothing was missed, they eventually agreed to put the truck up for inspection. The mechanic did confirm that there was in fact a rear main seal leak. At that point, I was hoping the dealership would either address the issue or be willing to adjust the price accordingly. Unfortunately, the manager did not view it as a major concern and chose not to move on the price or repair the issue. That part was disappointing, especially considering this is not a minor fix and could become a costly repair for the next owner. My concern is that a future buyer may not notice this issue, especially if they don't take the time to inspect underneath the vehicle like I did. I believe transparency is extremely important when selling used vehicles, particularly at this price point. For a truck priced around $34,000 and being sold without a warranty, I wasn't comfortable taking the risk of a major repair shortly after purchase. I was later contacted about the option to purchase an extended warranty for an additional $4,000, but that was outside of my budget. Overall, I was genuinely disappointed because this was a truck I really wanted. I went in hoping to make a deal, but ultimately had to walk away due to concerns about the issue and how it was handled. I do appreciate the time the staff spent with me, but I hope the dealership places more emphasis on transparency and addressing known mechanical concerns for future customers.

Shout out to Bill Black CHEVROLET for keeping the car in the service shop for 2 weeks without…read moretouching it (beyond initial diagnostic) and keeping communication impossible. Y'all had the car longer than we have at this point. As Matteo's boss said, "that's sketch." We were told the new battery would be a 5 business day delivery. After numerous attempts to contact with zero returned calls and BEING HUNG UP ON after FINALLY reaching the supervisor- we went to get the car back. No surprise they could not have cared any less. Will be looking at dealership reviews to see which Chevrolet dealership has positive reviews for servicing and communication. Matteo said reception was 10/10.

Lease scam and generally attempting to con the gullible, and very disrespectful to the potential…read morebuyer. It's 2025, not 1995, guys. We all have hella more ways to research and buy cars these days, so any dealership that's still pulling 20th-century bait and switch and lease scams is being really badly run. The leaders I dealt with today at this dealership are low on ethics and I wouldn't trust them as far as I can throw them. They're selling very marketable vehicles and still use those dishonest sales tactics, just when Hyundai is starting to get a more solid reputation. Foolish and counterproductive. I (female retired teacher in her 60s) was very clear from the get-go that I was asking ONLY if they had any used Hyundai Ioniq 5 SEL's on the lot eligible for the clean vehicle tax credit. Those cars are selling like hotcakes everywhere, so I'm just checking local places and online to see if one pops up in my price range. I was at the dealership because I'd rather give my money to a neighbor in even that tiny commission than to anonymous Carvana execs. It was clear on an earlier visit working with different people that I'd done the research on several EV's and know cars in general very well, and that I had a solid sense of the market. They weren't there today to keep that in the forefront, so okay. Still, I was crystal clear on this visit that I would only spend X amount of dollars and no more, either at Subaru or Hyundai. Since I was waiting for my Subaru to finish its scheduled maintenance next door, I was happy to go on a test drive of the new edition Ioniq 5 base model, all the while being promised that they'd find a way for me to afford the car. I was tired from a bunch of things and so didn't catch on to what was happening even though I knew that was likely impossible. The young man on the test drive did a great job explaining and selling -- my dad was in sales and I've spent decades training and assessing young people -- but the trouble started when he went back to consult management. He came back with someone who had written up a total ripoff of a lease agreement for the base Ioniq 5 I'd driven, claiming to meet my cost objectives. Well, the MSRP for that car is $48,870, and you can get a VIP care package on the purchase for $899. The lease offer had so inflated the prices, including more than doubling the VIP package to $1899 among other things, that it came out to something over $54K. So, that was dishonest and easily shown false to start with. It was foolish to pull that nonsense on a seasoned buyer who does tons of research before coming anywhere near a dealership. Someone had told me the district manager was in the dealership that day and really pushing to get me in a car that day. Well, F for failure for that guy, and more than a bit of anger that he pushed his salespeople to try to rip off an old woman. The lease for 3 years would have cost way more than I was paying on the Subaru to own, but without any value to get from selling the owned Subaru eventually, so why try to sell that idiocy? Yes, there's a case for leasing EV's so you can buy the latest advances when the lease is over, and if the lease is affordable, because of constant progress in range etc., but I'd never indicated interest in leasing, and even when I said I wasn't interested in leasing and reminded them why, the sales push just kept coming. They must have thought I was incredibly stupid (old? female?), or they really will do anything and steal from anyone to up their commissions. Disgusting crew running that show.

Capital Hyundai Held My Money And Ghosted Me After The Sale…read more I purchased a new 2025 Hyundai and traded in my 2022 Hyundai. There was an $8700 loan payoff to Hyundai Motor Finance on the 2022 vehicle. Capital Hyundai took the $8700 as part of the deal for the new car but didn't forward that money to Hyundai Motor Finance. I texted and e-mailed the salesperson, who said she would check into the problem, but I never heard back from her. I left a voicemail message for the Finance Department, but never received a call. I left two messages for the General Manager, but never received a call. I am now trying to resolve this through Hyundai Motor Finance so that my credit rating doesn't get impacted. Update: Shortly after I posted this review Capital Hyundai sent the payoff to Hyundai Motor Finance where it was posted one day before the next payment due date. I'll upgrade this review to 3 stars since the sales and delivery process was fine.

To Whom It May Concern,…read more I am writing to formally express my extreme dissatisfaction with the vehicle I recently purchased. Despite being told the car was in great shape and receiving assurances from both your dealership and the recommended third-party shop, the condition of the vehicle is unacceptable. Since taking delivery, I have discovered the following major issues: - The key is stuck and will not come out of the ignition. - There is a hole in the trunk. - The mirrors are non-functional. - The interior is falling apart and the dash is detached. Furthermore, I specifically requested that the car be cleaned and the gas tank filled prior to delivery. Instead, the car arrived dirty and with an empty tank. Offering a $500 refund is an insulting response to the level of incompetence displayed by your sales and management teams throughout this process. As an out-of-state buyer, I relied on your transparency, and that trust has been completely violated. I expect a more appropriate resolution to address these significant defects and the failure to meet the basic terms of our agreement. I asked them to simply take car back.

I expressed this to the rep Mal and to Drew who handled my paperwork. I was advised that they had a top notch service department and could fix anything wrong with the car. So believing their word I purchased the car. I did not purchase a warranty because it would have put my payments out of my price range adding over $100 to my payment and judging by all of the other complaints it does not cover anything. I took the car back the next day because the oil light was on red meaning there was something wrong with the oil. They assured me there was nothing wrong with it. I drove the car about a week or so and come to find out the horn did not work and i called and took it back to the service center where the fixed the horn and I told the service guy that I still smelled burning oil in the car and he said and I quote "we fixed an oil leak in the car and the oil leaked down in all the cracks and crevices and it's still burning off". I asked how long should I smell burning oil and he said " a while". I then drove the car down to Myrtle Beach which is about a 3 hour drive for me only to have the car break down on me in Myrtle Beach leaving me stranded to find a ride home. I called the dealership again and they came and got the car and took it BACK to their service center for the third time. The service center said that they had to "torque" the bolts in my PCV valve cover gasket and it should be fine now. I drove the car a week and then started smelling that same burning oil smell so this time I did not take the car to their service center but to my own mechanic who informed me of the repairs it needed and why I smelled oil the entire time even on my test drive. They advised me that the oil was leaking way before I purchased this car and each time I took it to their service center there was absolutely no repairs done on this car to try and fix the oil leak. This means that the dealership knew about this oil leak and did not fix it nor did they advise me that there was an oil leak in the car which could cause the engine to fail. The car is valued at $5993 and this repair is $2500, almost half the price of the car. I called the dealership and sent the estimate over and was advised they will not do anything further to assist with this car. I feel like I was defrauded into purchasing this car with this major repair and either they should pay for the repairs at my mechanic shop or return my money and take this car back. I will never recommend them to any of my family and friends and do my best to warn everyone about this fraudulent dealership. Reading the other complaints this is a normal pattern.
