I absolutely loved working with Nordeast! They were very prompt, communicative, fast working and left us with great results! They had to completely redo the wiring to four of our ceiling lights in our 100 year old house and they accomplished all four tasks in under a day and a half. Not only did they get all four lights working again, but they also cleaned up behind themselves and even put back our furniture! I was so impressed with how clean our home was the night between the two working days and when they finished the projects. I cannot stress this enough: they had to drill several holes in our ceiling and walls in order to complete the job and when they left there was not one speck of dust anywhere! Alex, the Manager, came out to quote a larger project. He immediately started looking at how he could upcharge, and add needless work we did not need nor want. He clearly did not realize I had the City Code person out prior and knew exactly what work I needed. Soon after he left, he sent a really rude, nasty email claiming it would take him hours to quote relatively simple jobs, and claimed he could not be bothered to draw up quotes. I responded back, how rude and asked what he found confusing or difficult. He responded with another really mean, nasty, uncalled for email. I am unsure if it is because I'm a woman, or whether he's just no longer fit to be dealing with customers with large jobs. I recommend skip them. Sad, because they had done small projects for me in the past. If you do use them, only for 1 singular project at a time. I needed to upgrade the wiring and breakers from the panel in my garage to the cooktop in my kitchen. Modern cooktops require more amperage than older models. Nordeast Electric team won my business on price and reputation. Jake and his apprentice methodically and diligently completed the work with minimal cuts to the interior house. They cleaned up and ensured everything worked as expected. One bonus of working with Nordeast is the trip charge for the initial estimate gets rolled into the final bill. Just gotta say wow. I've been looking for an electrician off and on for years, and that search is finally at an end. We had a really wonky three-way circuit that handled an outdoor flood light, and a box for the basement bedroom overhead light with one switch upstairs, and the other in the basement. I finally decided to deal with it, and Megan let us know they were booking several weeks out, but would put us on the standby list. It wasn't three days before Sean came out to take a look at this madness. He was able to resolve the mis-wired three way, then remove a switch from a different four-way circuit to connect to just the bedroom light. We can now use the bedroom light and flood light separately, and everything is exactly how we wanted it. I'll call these guys ANY time any electric work needs to be done. read more

I discovered Nordeast in 2010 after doing a lot of internet research on local electricians who were highly rated on non-paid review sites; at that time I narrowed it down to three, of which Nordeast was one. I went with them then because Bill, the owner of the business, not only encompassed the project but on the spot figured out ways to save me money. The job was done fast, well, and fairly priced. So, fast forwarding to 2018, with a new residence that needed substantial electrical work, I went straight to Nordeast, which in the meantime had generated even more (entirely deserved) rave reviews. My co-owners and I had a massive project involving updating and adding electrical outlets, wires, lights, etc. on every floor from basement to attic on our duplex. Bill has a crack team that's experienced and on top of every detail. They checked in with us multiple times to review options for various things we needed to do before implementing us, which was great for keeping us and them exactly on the same page. As before, the work was done efficiently and well and for a very good price considering how MUCH of it there was! Every chance I get, I recommend them to people I know who need electrical work done, as well as to our online neighborhood club. It should be stated clearly and explicitly: The office scheduler was not present and did not hear the conversation that I had with the electrician. Through her telephone interrogation, she forced me to repeat the expected options several times. After the third round of this interrogation, of course I said, "Holy shit". She was looking hard for an excuse to be as rude as possible and found her opening. She hung up on me and now claims I was uncivilized. Finally, one should not trust the five-star ratings this business gives itself. The person to whom I spoke was Meghan the office manager, not Bill T the owner as this post implies. Looking through some of the other review here and elsewhere, one can see multiple rave reviews from Meghan, Bill T. or Bill Tomczak or William Tomczak among others. Today was the second time Nordeast Electric has provided great service. The first time, years ago, was an emergency on a weekend and I never forgot their responsiveness. So fast forward I had a list of things needing attention that I put off for years. Sean took the time to go through the list, explaining costs and viability (I have a house built in 1912 and has "issues"). My scope had changed from when I orginally scheduled their services and he was helpful and unfazed by the change to my priorities. In the end, he did most of what I needed, in budget. The things I didn't have done were simply because I was unwilling to expand my budget. Their prices are fair and realistic, and I appreciated understanding the scope of some of the things I originally wanted done. I have no hesitation to recommend them, and I know the work done is top notch. Also, shout out to Austin for delivering last minute materials that were part of my expanded scope of what I wanted done, and jumping in to work on some of the projects. read more

We needed to have knob & tube wiring removed from our attic and rewire the entire second floor. We added light switches instead of pull chain lights to three bedrooms and the bathroom as well as updating all the outlets. We also had a Carbon Monoxide/Smoke Detector unit hardwired into the ceiling for safety purposes. They added two outlets we didn't require for free since it made their work easier. They sent three electricians instead of the two we expected and were able to complete the whole job in one day. We had gotten 7 quotes and not only was their bid the least expensive, the owner who came to do the bid was very informative, gave us options to choose from and came through with all we wanted perfectly. The guys were neatly dressed in company shirts with their names on them. They were kind and worked diligently. One even offered to move a large plant of mine outside if I wanted. They cleaned up their mess from cutting plaster and drilling. They were 110% better than we could have hoped. I highly recommend Nordeast Electric to come to your home and do your electrical work. Bill, the owner, was so awesome during the free estimate at our home. He stopped in to check on his guys. He always had a smile and was even a funny guy. Very professional. I sent them an email via their website late one night after having my main breaker go bad on my electrical panel. The next morning I had a response waiting for me when I woke up explaining the danger of the situation and was told they could have someone out ASAP. This is the only company that bothered to call me back out of the probably 10-12 that I contacted. They showed up within an hour right when they said they would and helped work through the problem and helped to find ways to save money and minimize impact on the home. I ended up needing a whole new panel and Brent was able to get it done in a day working mostly alone. He was professional, explained the what and why of the project, and was personable and courteous. I have no complaints at all about the quality of service or work. read more
