We were given a lot of important information and time to consider our decision as the cost was significant. I think the biggest concern I had about this company is that when we had to install the air conditioner later on when it was warmer, the technician that came out was incredibly rude to my husband when he pointed out a preference he was hoping for either the cement block placement. When we brought up our concerns directly to the sales rep, particularly the way he was treated him as a person of color. This company dismissed his experience and tried to justify it as something else. I would really encourage them to make sure their various staff who interact with customers (who pay thousands of dollars for their product) have a clear understanding of what quality customer service needs to be.

In my case, they sent their senior guy (Joe, master plumber, electrician, everything you can think of), and he suggested waiving the trip fee in exchange for the hour he spent diagnosing my Daikin heat pump communicating system (zones, zone board, etc.). That was $195, and I thought it was fair. The fix was mostly to adjust my zone board directly rather than through the thermostat, and also to analyze my plumbing needs for other projects. Nice guy, knowledgeable, I enjoyed talking with him. For the HVAC work, Joe had to call Andy, who is their Daikin pro and duct engineer. Andy knows what he's talking about, more than any other HVAC person I've talked to (4Front installed my system in a mess for the previous owner, Binder HVAC charged me a lot for wasted time because they didn't understand Daikin systems, while Twin Cities Heating and Air, Midwest Heating and Cooling, and Golden Valley Heating and Air all had no idea what to do and had weird suggestions). If you have a Daikin system, ask for Andy. He tuned my zone board, fixed some miserable duct work and leaks, and better yet taught me about how things work beyond the mysterious Daikin "algorithm." He was patient with my questions and suggestions, too. This work was about $400, which is way less than the $3,000 I got bilked out of at one of the other places. It took a few hours. For the plumbing, they sent Frank, who is another senior guy specializing in plumbing. Frank worked fast, was courteous, and did a few extra little jobs for me when I asked for advice on them, such as greasing a fused spigot and dabbing some silicone on a hole in the shower frame. He also educated me about my water system, including winterizing and shutoff procedures. For the plumbing work, Frank installed a water mixing valve and also terminated a leaking pipe in the ceiling. This work was about $600. It took a few hours. In both cases, they brought along an apprentice, each of whom was equally courteous and attentive. It was very endearing. For billing, there are a couple of things they do. 1) the charge is the price. They don't do the most granular breakdown of costs in the invoice, but they do calculate it and you can ask what the calculation is. It is not an estimate or a minimum charge, more like a bid. The nice thing about that is that it will cost that and no more, which means they are happy to stick around and help here and there without charging for time. For larger projects, I'm not sure if they would charge the lesser of the bid vs labor time, but I would hope so. I haven't needed them for something big yet. For example, Pulse Electric is an electrician service that never charges more than their bid, and charges for time if it's less. I think Krinkie's would just charge the bid, but I got the sense they would be reasonable if, say, a 3-day project took only 1 day. 2) They have a subscription service that seemed like a no-brainer. For $20/m, they will come out twice a year to tune your furnace/AC, and you also get 20% off all other services, which paid for itself with our plumbing and ductwork needs. Use these guys! I love having them as my go-to people now.

Hi! July 2026 In the…read moreprocess of creating an access panel, the plumber caused extensive damage to the surrounding drywall. This wasn't simply a clean opening that could be patched after the plumbing repair was completed. The drywall around the access panel was broken and compromised to the point that it can no longer support a straightforward patch. I live in a condo and was informed that if there were surrounding imperfections, I was responsible for them but didn't realize the damage would be this extensive. Instead of a simple repair, I'll now have to cut out a much larger section of drywall and replace it because the remaining drywall around the opening has been destroyed. What should have been a minor patch has turned into a much more involved project. I'm generally willing to tackle small home repairs myself, but this is beyond what I'm comfortable learning from a YouTube video. I'll most likely have to hire a drywall professional to correct the damage, adding unexpected time and expense that could have been avoided with more careful workmanship or a different plumbing company. Additionally, silicone caulk was applied unevenly and in excessive amounts around much of the access panel. The heavy, inconsistent bead prevents the access panel from sitting flush with the wall, resulting in an unprofessional appearance and creating additional work to remove the excess caulk before the area can be repaired properly. On the other hand, as far as I can tell, the plumbing works. UPDATE 9/1/26 I had an minor inquiry regarding my bill and I was contacted by someone from billing. What followed was a one-sided, confrontational phone call. I barely said more than "hello" and "goodbye." Before I had an opportunity to explain my concerns, he immediately became defensive, criticized me for leaving a Google review, and told me that the problem was solely due to water damage. He also stated that his plumbers had to return a second time because they were waiting for me to have the drywall repaired. For clarity, the drywall repair person who later evaluated and repaired the damage told me that it was partially due to water and partially due to shoddy workmanship. I have no issue acknowledging the water damage. My concern is the workmanship and the fact that I was never informed about the extent of the damage caused during the plumbing work and the confrontational response from billing rep. The second visit was, in my view, to finish work that had not been properly completed during the first visit, yet I was charged for that additional visit. I paid the bill in full immediately. I had no interest in prolonging a one-sided argument, particularly when the representative had already decided that the company was not at fault and did not seem to be in the state of mind to receive my perspective. One positive note: the interactions that Megan, the receptionist, and I had together were consistently pleasant, professional, calm, and unemotional. I expect the representative may respond to this review with his own explanation or attempt to characterize my concerns differently. That is his prerogative. I am simply documenting what I personally saw, what I was told (and not told), what occurred during my interactions with the company, and my reaction to being addressed in a confrontational manner. I am not seeking a refund or compensation from the company. I simply want to document my experience as a customer so others can make an informed decision.

Another big shop in town was very expensive and seemed like they were adding little things here and there to the estimate. Erickson's guy, Mike, was very nice and was thorough and was clear on not needing things that the other high-priced shop proposed. He explained the residential codes to me and why I did not need certain things. He did preface that this was not going to be cheap. He walked through all the things that needed to be done and how long it took and I realized that this was going to take several days of someone working all day and knocking out walls and ceilings. This was a big project. Their estimate was expensive, but still about 15% lower than one of the other big guys in town. But, I got a good feeling about them. So I gave Erickson the work. They came in an installed pex and ripped out all the galvanized across 3 floors of my house. They did an excellent job and would not hesitate having them back in the future.

Unfortunately I have to write a negative review of Erickson Plumbing. We called about not getting…read morehot water, only lukewarm water, and the first plumber that came out said it was not the water heater and proceeded to change a cartridge in our master shower and charged us $800 for it, which is astronomical for changing a cartridge. He also broke the handle of the shower, reversed the hot and cold directions, and did not tell us it broke. The problem persisted and we continued to have lukewarm water. I called the company and they sent another guy out and he said that our handle was reversed from hot to cold and maybe I had just been using the wrong direction for hot water. Readers, I am not an idiot and know very well what direction is hot and cold in my own shower and what changed with the plumber. He didn't know what the problem was either. I called Erickson and they asked if they could make it right. I made it clear that I will not pay another dime and I expected money back if it ended up being an issue that would have cost me less than $800. They verbally agreed over the phone. They agreed they had misidentified the issue and it was on them to fix it. Erickson sent out a THIRD plumber and he looked at our water heater, said it was a pipe that needed cleaned out, cleaned it out and et voila, we had hot water so it was an easy fix. Afterwards I called to settle with them and see what they could refund me since it did end up being an easy fix and not worth a whopping $800. They refused to refund any of the $800 saying they had spent a lot of time on the issue and going back on their word and original mea culpa that it was their issue and pledge to make it right with me. It should absolutely not be on my dime if they couldn't figure out the problem until the third try and they also absolutely took me for a ride charging me $800 to begin with. I worked with them on good faith to fix the problem expecting them to make it right with me in the end since they were at fault for misidentifying the issue, not fixing it, charging me $800 for not fixing it, and breaking my handle at that. They would not budge and would not give one penny back, which is frankly horrible business. Be prepared to be taken for a ride if you work with them and pay way more than expected and gamble at even getting your problem solved, then lied to afterwards. Hire at your own peril.
