Today was my first time visiting Nordic Catch and I was pleasantly surprised by all the options they have. Parking is in some industrial area for which at first I thought I was in the wrong place, but Sure enough the name on the #4 door says Nordic Catch. Inside is a huge room with a giant freezer. The person who greeted me told me about all the different types of meats/fish they offer, and it's awesome to find out the fish is fresh directly from Iceland and that it is Sushi Grade seafood. Today I picked up two pieces of fresh cod and I can't wait to try them. I do plan on returning to try some of the beef and some of the other fish. Another nice thing to know is that they also have free local delivery! I cannot wait to get some sushi grade salmon next! read more

Nordic Catch has the freshest fish. Salmon: I call this a 2-part delight bc the salmon skin is a crunchy treat in itself and the tasty pink salmon meat melts in your mouth. I like to cook it on the stove top on medium and watch it like a hawk so it doesn't overcook. Since the thickness varies, I cut out the thinner piece so I can scoop it out of the pan first and let the thicker part cook longer. #protip I love the other fish as well: trout, char, smoked salmon. You can't go wrong. I get it from the farmers market and you can see what other goodies they have at the stand. I eat it too fast to remember to take a photo. Hands down, the best seafood out there. We made sashimi from their sushi grade salmon 3 nights in a row and my husband and I both agreed it was the best salmon we have ever had. Perfect amount of oil, fat, and the texture is so soft it melts in your mouth. We also tried their sushi grade cod and that was equally as delicious. We baked that with butter, lemon and Parmesan cheese and the fish was juicy, delicate, mild and delicious. The texture was amazing! Next we had their lox (on a bagel with cream cheese) and it was awesome too. Perfect amount of oil and extremely tasty! Fish arrives fresh the next day. I love that it is not frozen and can be eaten right away. We froze the rest of our order. I subscribed for their pick up in NoHo once a week. I pop them puppies in the air fryer and it gets the perfect glazed top with juicy on the inside. The skin is my favorite part.
