I stopped by this Vallarta market this morning to get some groceries since I was nearby. I found parking easily since I came close to when they just open. The groceries are on the left side of the store, the meat is toward the back, the bakery is on the right side. The prices are reasonable here. I got some tomatoes, cucumbers, bagel and decided to get some carne asada. I used the self checkout since they only had one cashier station open. We were in town to celebrate my daughter's birthday. I needed flowers to fill a container I had brought with me from home. I was pleased with a few flowers that they did have available in the store and nice mixture of fresh flowers. I also was there to pick up a couple of bags of La Juquilita Oaxaca Moles. I asked the young lady if they carried it and she directed me to another employee who told me they were down aisle two or four I forget. That is not the kind of mole I wanted. So we decided to walk over to the meat department and sure enough we found the brand that our family prefers. I grew up on Doña Maria, but I have upgraded to the Oaxaca moles available. We also picked up a few pieces of Mexican sweet bread so glad we found a Vallarta in the area we live up on the Central Coast the closest one being in Santa Maria . This is my Favorite Vallarta in my area. It's always clean and the employees are very pleasant! I love the selection here and the fresh produce is always on point. I had tried the fish tacos, chilaquiles, stuffed pepper among other things. The place is always busy but service is fast. I love everything so far! Slow slow and ridiculously slow. How come it takes 10 mins to make a simple asada burrito. I have been there numerous times and it's still the same issue. I don't understand why the manages have not addressed this issue. The food is ok but to have to wait that long idle pretty crazy when the there is only 1 or 2 small orders ahead of you. I cannot be the only one experiencing this. Cooking staff looks disorganized and lost. There's plenty of staff behind the counters so why are they not helping. From time to time I purchase carne Asada meat for bbq nights at home. Their premium cut meat is good quality and they marinate it really good. Not sure about other meat products cause I haven't purchased anything else but carne asada. I also like getting cotija cheese and Mexican sour cream from here. It goes well with the bbq. Their produce department is pretty good as well with good prices on avocados, onions and much more. I always end up buying a few things from here too. I've been going to this Vallarta for a few years now from before and after the building underwent changes so I'm quite familiar with the store. I write this review because I visited the store Friday and have noted that the customer service has really gone down, especially in the taqueria as the quality also seems to have suffered, the employees were never usually helpful, cashiers included. However 10/24/25 I passed by for some items and was met with a cashier named Ana, did not get a last name, who truly provided exemplary service. It has been SO LONG since I was treated so humanly and cheerfully. She proceeded to check out my items quickly while we chatted and even told me to have a great day which I also hadn't received some time in any Vallarta location to be quite honest. Ana M. did an amazing job of making a simple interaction stand out against the many dismal visits I've had with Vallarta, as even the supervisors recently are extremely rude, unprofessional, and even have the audacity to smirk at you when asking for help, her service and wit should be a standard that all Vallarta staff should be held to. read more

Got there Fourth of July conchas which tasted hard and stale the minute we opened it. One of the conchas had this slimy, brownish thing inside which we threw it away. We didn't put much thought into it and told ourselves maybe it was one of the raisins for other bread that accidentally got in. Later on the other concha, there was a plastic wrap inside the sugar coat. I know it's from there because if you look at the picture it's perfectly the same shape as the sugar. I will never get anything from the bakery again. That really disgusted me and now wonder what that brown, slimy thing inside the bread was?! It's too bad because my family used to really enjoy all goodies from the bakery. read more

Everything tasted so bad and was extremely overpriced. - tamales were soggy and the meat inside was so distasteful and over priced - pozole had so many bones - asked for corn tortillas, got tostadas - horchata watered down and flavorless - champurrado tasted artificial - service was awful and slow - all the desserts were overpriced, a slice of tres leches going for $3.99... Ended up spending $47 for a bowl of pozole, two tamales, six tacos, two drinks, and nothing was good. You would think a store would perform better after renovating, but it really was just an excuse to up the prices with 0 quality control. This review is for the kitchen and I guess corporate as well. It was during the storm we got a few weeks ago, I wanted a fried fish from the kitchen with rice and beans. So I ordered it. it was cold and raining to I asked if they had posole and they said yes of course. So i ordered it. Got it all home, settled down, took a bite out of my fish and it was so fishy tasting. I was so confused. Then I looked at it, the meat was pink. I dug at it with my spoon and it was raw. That's disgusting. I was pretty upset about it but was gonna let it slide and eat my posole. Well the posole was also awful. The hominy was not cooked enough. It was hard. It's like they just have a pot of broth in the back and just add hominy to it as they run out of stuff in the pot. But this doesn't work on a busy day. You're gonna get uncooked hominy and serve it to people. I should have known it was going to be awful when I took a sip and it was lukewarm. I only had the food for 15 mins tops. I was upset. I spent all that money and I drove in the rain. So I went back for a refund. I asked the cashiers at the front and they can't process the refund since their registers aren't set the same as the kitchen. So I go to the kitchen the cashier says she has to get a manager to process the refund. She goes and tells them and then the waiting begins. I'm waiting. Just standing. I can see the "manager" Andrea just hanging out in the back talking with another employee. They keep doing their thing. I'm waiting. I look inside they make eye contact with me. They keep doing whatever they're doing. I'm waiting. It's already 10 mins I'm standing there so I put myself INSIDE the kitchen at this point if they're going to keep ignoring me. That isn't appropriate to keep a customer waiting like that after you wasted their time already and ruined their meal. You created an issue, not the customer, be quick to remedy it. I got my refund. Zero apology. I was given dirty looks like I was the problem here. I went back to the main store and asked for store manager name and email. I emailed, no response. I emailed corporate, no response. These POS don't care about what they do. I just wanted and apology and an "we'll do better next time." But I get nothing. They will continue to be basura. read more

My new go to supermarket. There is a mix of reviews here and if you read them long enough it's clear. The prepared foods leave something to be desired, but the store itself is fantastic. It's clean with a great selection of items, but Hispanic items and more diverse items. It can get busy but the self checkout is plentiful and moves quickly. I find the fresh salsa and Pico to be a real winner, Same with tortillas. I can't speak much to the pastries and hot food counters, which is what many of the negative reviews have issues with. But in terms of straight grocery shopping this place is kind of a hidden gem. Only downside is I'm always tempted to buy a 5 dollar Agua Fresca. read more

Terrible customer service the girls they have sweeping the aisles have no care towards people to say excuse me they just passed by with the big sweeper, sweeping your feet so uncomfortable and as a mother, sometimes you have to change your baby's diaper, and I went to the restroom, both changing tables in both restrooms are damaged. I would not be able to change my baby's diaper on that I don't know how they think that is safe. Nobody has time to drive back to the store and deal with exchanging bad food so it's $9.99 here, $14 there that goes straight into the garbage.
