i absolutely love going to this place for the coffee! i haven't tried out the food yet but hoping to try out the saturday japanese brunch soon. the interior is super cute and welcoming, plenty of places to sit during your morning cup of coffee. the staff is super friendly and make the drinks delicious! i always get an iced cortado and it is one of my faves. definitely worth trying out! nice little hidden gem

I like this place a bit pricey for the food but it was still good. I would have preferred that they made the fish you pick but they only do certain items. Service is pretty good and the family is definitely friendly. Clean place with very limited tables and seating. I would come here again. Unfortunately only street parking. Btw, I really liked their coffee drinks here.

Super excited to finally try this seafood market! I am so pleased with the quality of their fish as well as the thoughtfulness that went into packing the fish. The otoro and sea bream were both wrapped in paper towels in addition to parchment papers which helped with the oiliness. I really appreciate that they fileted the skin from the salmon but left it so I could cook it. The staff are really nice and helpful with advising how many pounds of fish to purchase. I really want to try something at their cafe next time and I'm definitely going to buy more fish for at-home sashimi and to cook! Otoro - 5/5, melt in your mouth good! Sea bream - 5/5, sooo delicious seared in a pan. This was an unexpected favorite cooked! Steelhead salmon - 4/5, good but not as delicious as the other two fish

Came by to pick up some fresh Ikura but found they also have a coffee shop and a handroll restaurant in the same place! So I took full advantage! Ordered a brown sugar latte while I waited for a table, it took about 20-30 minutes for a table to open up. Then ordered the Xtra-med hand rolls which comes with 6 rolls. The rolls were very fresh and tasted so good! Also got fresh Hokkaido Ikura from the fish market side to eat with the handrolls! Definitely a small gem in Sherman oaks. A place to pick up fresh whole fish and steaks for the day/week and a place to enjoy a quick bite.

Good place to meet friends for dining. Showcased fish and other seafood. Loved the grilled black cod. All the food was relatively fresh. I look for quality over quantity. But they were pricey. The servers were attentive and the owner who was present was very pleasant and helpful.

I've been wanting to try this sushi spot for a while, and I'm so glad I finally did! I wasn't sure what to expect since it's tucked inside a space with multiple mini shops--a fish market, a coffee shop, a sushi bar, and I'm pretty sure they even sell sourdough bread. I came specifically for the sushi, and it did not disappoint. Seating is pretty limited--most tables are for two, and there's a small bar with just three spots. Definitely not a big sit-down place, but that's part of the vibe. Heads up--this is a hand roll spot. Hand rolls range from $6-$9, unless you go for one of their specialty rolls, which run $20+. I tried a handful, and every single one was amazing. Also, they serve the rolls on paper--no plates--so keep that in mind if presentation matters to you. Cons: Parking is a nightmare since it's right on Ventura--super limited and tough to find. And because it's inside a fish market, it does smell like fish. The ambiance could definitely be better, but honestly, the sushi makes up for it.

Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 4/5 Though looking at fish hanging upside down can look scary, if you think about the Gwen where they showcase dry aged meat, it's a similar concept here were they sell dry aged sushi--a kind of niche right now. I like getting sashimi grade dry-aged fish here to make crudos or sushi/poke at home. Hubby and I like the toro, salmon, uni, ikura, and scallops. Make sure you check the daily provisions list as the options can change daily, and know that they close on Mondays. Love that it's only 5 mins away from our home!

This place has made me elevate my sushi game. Everything is hands down 5 out of 5 here. You can look at their live provisions list and order online. I prefer to go in the day I plan to make sushi and purchase what's available. But to guarantee the fish you want you must order ahead of time. The reason I prefer to go in and order is to understand more about the process of putting an order together. For example, if you purchase salmon, they filet the fish in two halves then they cut your weight from top (of fish) to bottom (of fish) meaning you will get a belly portion in every order. For yellowtail you would need to ask for the belly portion if that's your preference. In person ordering allows to also see the size of the fish available and make decisions based on estimated weight. So I might want 1lb of salmon but I might just take the entire filet of half the salmon because they are telling me it probably weighs 1 1/3 lbs. Overtime, I've learned a lot. Pro tip: ask them to remove the skin. That will save you time. I bring a sealed large freezer bag with lots of frozen ice packs and also ask them for ice. As soon as I get home I take the fish out one at a time and trim and wrap in saran wrap and place on ice packs in my fridge. That will keep it fresh until we have sushi in the evening.

The quality of fish here is amazing! They even have a grill out in the front. Lots of seating as well

But did you realize that 3 years ago, they (Leriza and Andy) decided to open their normally wholesale-only doors to the public? I didn't until I was browsing their tiny FB page and noticed I had missed their announcement and promptly drove over to check it out. Behold, the bountiful offerings of the sea normally requiring a dicey (and someone treacherous) drive to DTLA down on 6th and Stanford to visit the wholesale fish mongers is no longer needed. Sitting up in NoHo on Burbank Blvd is this treasure chest for seafood lovers. They did some remodeling of the front office and made room for a retail service area to allow regular you and me to come in and pick up what we would like/need/lust after in regular cash-and-carry fashion. Mind you, this isn't a TJ's with little fillets individually packed in plastic - it's a real wholesaler with both whole fishes and various trade forms of fillets, nuggets and even the odds and sots needed for Asian recipes (like collars and bellies.... Yummmm) At last visit, he was still working on accepting credit cards, but that's coming soon. Meanwhile it's cash and grab a plastic bag by the pound of whatever it is that suits you. Note the hours, they're business-friendly, not for "oh what's tonight for dinner" friendly. You can call ahead and have your order packaged and ready-to-go without a wait, or browse and make up your list on-site based upon what's fresh and new that day. Just be ready with the whole list at once, rather than browse and can you add this? Um, on second thought, maybe that. You'll be buying wholesale, at retail quantity, and yes you'll be glad you did because unlike retail fish, these don't sit a day waiting to be put out the next, then sitting for a day while you get around to picking up the package, and then sitting in your fridge for another day figuring out what to do with what you just bought. Browse the website for the general inventory - prices are always market-based, so yes, they're around Costco, but no, not every single day will the price be the same. Go for it!

Upon entering there are shopping carts and baskets. Take a rolling one (trust me) and get ready for a wonderful store filled with food stuffs that will make you swoon. The neatly stacked shelves are filled with things like chocolate, jam, pasta, tinned seafood, chips, and pasta are all neatly organized. Tags indicating country of origin (largely from Europe) are helpful. There are refrigerators full of charcuterie, cheese, and French butter. Freezers have ready to bake breads and pastries from a bakery in Canada. It's actually quite overwhelming (in a very good way), if you don't know what you need. You'll definitely see lots of things you want. The people that work here seem happy and are very helpful. When we were looking at chips, one of the employees shared his favorites. The best part of the visit was meeting the owner. He was enthusiastic and extremely informative! He told us that everything in the store was sampled and scrutinized for taste and quality. He knew everything about the products and why they were sourced. He helped me find a delicious arbequina olive oil from Italy and tins of sardines packed it butter. Swoon. By the end of our visit my basket was full! While the items here are pricey I truly think that the quality is worth it. Parking is plentiful and conveniently located just outside. The store is clean and well organized. Bring your own reusable shopping bags because you'll need it for all the wonderful goodies. Definitely returning!
