I went Nordstroms at south coast plaza today and couldn't believe how easy, quick, and pleasant my experience was. Considering that it's one week before Christmas I thought going to the mall would be a nightmare but I couldn't be more wrong! I found a parking space literally right in front of the door and then I was immediately helped by salesman when I got to shoe area. I was there to buy some slippers for my mom. They had the style, size, and color she wanted so I was in and out within 5 minutes! Also, the man who helped me was very sweet and got me what I needed right away. Such great service! It could have just been a coincidence that everything worked out perfectly but I have to brag about great it was! Thank you Nordstroms for making my Holiday shopping that much easier! read more

Went shopping during their sale recently and purchased 3 pairs of shoes for my little girl. I must say Marcel is one of the best sales rep I have encountered in a long time. He was very helpful and such a awesome personality handling my special needs daughter with care. He also was so gentle putting shoes on my daughter feet as she is just so sensitive. So yesterday I was looking for cologne for my husband. I wear Creed and that is my favorite line. There was no one at the Creed counter (it was early slightly after 10:30am) and there was a young man who was working at another high end fragrance counter. He asked if I needed help with anything (first time that has ever been asked of me at that location). I said I was looking for a fragrance for my husband. He assisted me with the fragrances and found one I thought my husband would like. He gave me a sample to take home along with a business card with the lady who normally runs the Creed counter. It's been so long since i have seen such amazing representation from Nordstrom. He reminded me of the quality service of brick and mortar stores that you just don't see anymore. If I had more time I would have perused his line (I will definitely check it out next time). It was refreshing to have someone working there that was polite and informative. Good job to whoever hired this guy on. You need more like him. read more

I usually love this place but had horrible service today. It was 7 pm on a Thursday an there were no customers however it took the lady at the Estée Lauder (short blond hair) 20 minutes to help the lady in front of me to purchase a gift card bc she was too busy chatting it up. After waiting for her social hour to be over she then informed me I couldn't return a barely used 75 dollar face creme I hated bc I used the "free" sample it came with. I will never purchase from Estée Lauder at Nordstroms again. Target has a better return policy than that. So disappointed in Nordstroms today. read more

South Coast Plaza could quite possibly be the worst Nordstrom I've ever shopped in. I can name a list of things that this store has done to turn me off from shopping here. I have been ignored, I've been double charged for something and then had the worst time trying to get my money back, and when you bring to a sales persons attention that the price is lower somewhere else there always seems to be a reason why they aren't going to price match, which they are known for doing and when you question them why you're given attitude. I was supposed to have a pair of shoes overnighted because they gave me the wrong pair in the store and the shoes were never overnighted to me. What happened to the customer service that you're supposed to be famous for? Not so much anymore!!! read more

I would like to start off by saying that I live for Nordstrom. Any job I have ever had, Nordstrom customer service has been the epitome of what we strive to be. Unfortunately, after a visit on Friday 6/8/18, I can easily say Nordstrom has lost a customer thanks to sales rep Tanya J. She was extremely rude and while I understand that everyone has "bad days" but this was beyond anything I have ever experienced. While waiting in line I had a woman cut in front of me. Not being one to particularly enjoy confrontation I decided to let it go but found it odd that the sales rep (I am kicking myself for not getting her name) saw this happen and didn't say anything. Once the sales rep was done ringing her up she turned around and helped the customer on the other side of the register. At this point, I'm debating on whether or not I should just go to Fashion Island but I figure I'm already here so I decide to stay. Low and behold Tanya J. walks out from what I'm assuming is her break and proceeds to tell me the line is elsewhere. She didn't ask if I need help, she didn't tell me someone would be with me shortly, she acted like I was a nuisance. After telling her that 2 people that got there AFTER ME were helped BEFORE ME, she obliges and decides she'll help me only to have the nastiest look on her face when I tell her I am processing a return. BTW, thanks Nordstrom.com quality control for sending me a ripped top. After the return was processed she literally threw the receipt at me like she was done with me and wanted me to go away. Never again will I shop at South Coast Nordstrom. I can easily spend my money elsewhere. read more

This is one of the TOP Nordstrom's in the area, maybe even the state. The store is clean! Which is a peeve of mine when a store is a mess. The selection is on point! High end to less expensive items. I miss old department stores. Online shopping is great but nothing like a easy walk through the selections & trying on. The staff is outstanding! These sales people are professionals! Each department I go to, I am always greeted & they go above & beyond! The sales woman ins shoes, she is so pleasant! A young woman in women's clothing helped me get the perfect white summer jeans - provided options! I wish I knew their names! They are super. I love this store. This and Mission Viejo. Pathetic customer service. I always buy from Nordstrom's, at every location I have gone too, I have had fantastic customer service, but at this location, it's dreadful. I went to the third floor to buy some Patagonia and everything was fine, I picked my item and I wanted to try it. I waited for someone outside the fitting room to open a stall for me, since it was locked, and associates walked past me without looking at me. I waited before I finally asked one of the store associates and she gave me such a disgusting look, like she hated the fact that I asked her for help. Can you believe that? How sad of a person do you have to be to have that reaction? So I tried on my items and I go to the check out, and this older lady just looks at me, as if she's looking down at me, and proceeds to talk to me as if I don't speak English or if I'm a child? I've never felt so disrespected at a retail store. I'm a loyal customer who spends a lot of money at Nordstrom, to have an associate act so idiotic to me was nothing more than pathetic. At the end, I was helped by someone, Nigel I believe. And I got my products. I will not come back to this Nordstrom, I hope they hire more competent people who appreciate customer service. read more

The staff in the Men's department, when it comes to returns, is not consistent with the Nordstrom reputation. When attempting to return a high-value wallet, I was greeted with condescending dismissal by multiple staff. Although I did not get the result I was hoping for, that is a store policy that I have no control over. But as far as treating a customer as if they are a return-fraud scammer, or "lesser than", when there is zero reason to do so (my account and all purchases/returns are visible), it has led to the closing/cancellation of my store account, and my luxury dollars being spent elsewhere. This place is a great place to get what you need and get out. The store is generally busy all the time so coming with the expectation of leisurely perusing their racks and taking my sweet time. The associate have no time for funny business and want you to buy or get the hell out. They have some friendly faces, but overall, this place is too busy and too many customers to adequately provide superior service. I prefer rather to hit up the smaller stores in the rest of the mall as they will give you the attention. Nevertheless, this is a great place to grab lunch, during non-peak hours and also to see what the masses are purchasing. The atmosphere is generally younger and there is certainly a buzz everyday of the week. I give this location a middle of the road rating because it is neither here nor there. Doesn't blow me away, but it also has what I need when I am in a gifting pinch and need something FAST. read more

I Usually avoid negative reviews for retail stores but I thought management should know and have an opportunity to make improvements. I received a generous gift card and went to Nordstrom South Coast to purchase a perfume and maybe a dress or two. I visited the Estée Lauder section and asked for a specific item Beyond Paradise. An associate who didn't work the area lead me to an area with perfume and was trying to help but was clearly unfamiliar and ultimately couldn't help me. She then asked the associate who did work there if she could help but that associate was applying makeup to another customer and was not familiar with what I was looking for. Not only wasn't she familiar with what I was looking for but didn't seem really all that interested. I then showed them a picture of the item on their website. The associate who worked in the section then basically dismissed me and said "she" has to order it online. Even though I have a gift card, I didn't order online or look for other items because of the dismissive and uncomfortable environment. I went to another store and purchased the perfume there. I don't do business with stores that make me feel like it is a hardship to assist customers even if the transaction won't cost me anything. read more

I shop at Nordstrom because they have a petite size department that carries quality brands. In the past the store at SCP carried a big petite section because there were many Asians who shop this mall. So I made the long drive to SCP to shop at this particular Nordstrom. I was very dismayed to see that the store got rid of its petite department. WTF?! Now, petite clothing is scattered in each brand's section, and the selection is greatly reduced. Inexplicable for a store serving an affluent customer base, many of whom wear small sizes. Fail. read more

I'm a loyal Nordstroms shopper, their standards of customer service are stellar, just be advised they recently changed their return policy which is what hooked me to start shopping there. Even with the little sticker and box after a period of time they will only give store credit. The south coast plaza store also remodeled the store including their cafe. Menu has changed but the food is still good and prices haven't changed. It's not as packed as it used to be because hey did away with the cafeteria style of dinning to only sit down menu ordering. I don't know why but it feels a lil intimidating and commitment. Again the food taste, quality and prices are the same. Today I had the rosemary chicken with artichoke ziti. No complaints. I also like that they will ship you whatever you want if they don't have your size/color at that store. You know that matters as XXS and 00 are hard to find. read more

I came into Nordstrom today to pick up a dress alteration for my son's wedding and I met Jennifer Martin who helped me select a very beautiful dress. She was very friendly and professional. She helped me select color, material and good price. I visited twice and luckily each time Jennifer was able to assist me. Always smiling and positive even when dealing with difficult customers. Before I had come into Nordstrom I stopped by Macy's, I saw a woman have the same exact dress that I had bought and the price was significantly lower. When I talked to Jennifer about the price difference she was very accommodating and helped me get the best deal on my dress. I would like to strongly recommend anyone to come visit Jennifer for any dress needs and excellent customer service. read more

Nordstrom quality of service was lacking. When you are in a department selecting clothes for 45 minutes, you would expect to be offered assistance, or at least a fitting room. I was not acknowledged. This is a review for Joey Mariwucci in BP shoes. He really helped me out tonight! I was in a time crunch to pick out three gifts and joey hustled, made some calls and got me exactly what I needed in the speed of light. I appreciated his professionalism and warm approach. Too often at Nordstrom I get approached by extremely aggressive salespeople. I get it- you have to hustle in a sales position, but I hate when someone gets aggressive and pushy. Joey is extremely kind, patient and encouraging, never made me feel rushed and was straight to the point. Nikko also helped us out for a moment which I genuinely appreciated. They were team players which I understand can be somewhat nonexistent in a sales based position. I'm a little disappointed in a particular salesman- didn't catch his name, but he was completely unprofessional! A woman approached my sales guys during my sale to ask them for a size, and that other guy yelled out across the room "that's my customer! I helped her out this morning!" Um, awkward and unprofessional. I get that you have to hustle to make the most sales but there's enough customers for everyone! Don't put people in awkward situations like that, especially if they didn't ask for you specifically. I will come back for my future purchases with Joey. His customer service was excellent. Overall though I love this Nordstrom most because they always have what I need. read more

I went there to exchange a pair of Uggs I bought that just didn't want to be cool like the other Uggs and decided to let things leaked into my toes :[ I had no receipt, no original box that came with it - but heard that Nordstrom had GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE so decided to give it a try anyways.. Well guess what????? *I said guess*.......... *giving you more time to guess*............. welllllllllllll........ they actually let me exchanged it!!!!!!!!! WOW! Just utterly wow. and what else? They were even willing to shipped it to my house for free because I have midget feet (size 3 in Kids= size 4 1/2-5 in adults) and my pair wasn't available there. Thus, because of "their bad", causing "a major inconvenience" to me, they will ship it to my house for free.. Wow how cool is that? They actually claimed to cause me an inconvenience for not having that pair there. *sigh* You've capture my devotion Nordstrom. I am now listing you as one of my favorite stores. As we all know Nordstrom is known for great customer service. I live in Brea and our Nordstrom is amazing! I was recently in the South Coast area and not looking for anything in particular. I came across some shoes, in their Anniversary sale that were the same price as the original price on the sale rack. I asked the sales associate what the sale price was and he agreed they were the same as the original price. When I recently purchased a pair of shoes from the Brea location, I didn't have to ask for a price match, she did it automatically. When I asked the gentleman at South Coast if he could check the local stores, Macy's, Blooming Dales, he said they don't carry this brand. Ok, your the expert who does, looking for the best deal. You can talk to my Mgr he is right here. No, I'm a long time customer and looking for the best price without having to go from store to store. Brea offers that's customer service so I'll make sure I support my local store as they go above and beyond in customer service. I guess South Coast Nordstrom rely on the RICH people that pay full price, when their are promotions and discounts elsewhere that other Nordstrom will match. I have been to this location many times, as well as plenty of others, and have to say that great customer service along with other ingredients keep me coming back! As I say in several of my other reviews, in this day and age great customer service is greatly appreciated and I will spend my money at an establishment that appreciates it! Although I could write a review for several departments, this time it is going to be for the young lady in the hosiery department who went above and beyond for my mom and I. She knows who she is. However, I won't disclose her name for security reasons. My mother and I, both want to thank her for her expertise in the department, as well as ordering the items we needed.
