I went in to the beauty department at the Nordstrom in southcoast plaza. I intended to buy some palettes from urban decay, but they were not in stock. Even if the store had them, I would go somewhere else. The women who I spoke with was irritated with my question, and basically brushed me off. As I continued to walk around, I was looking at the samples they leave out for customers to try. One worker looked at me and then left in a rush. She then brought back two other workers who told me if I wanted to take a small paper sample I would have to spend 125 dollars to receive it. There was no sign on the table of samples describing that promotion, nor can I find it online. I told her that was fine I wouldn't take one, and continued to look at the back of the paper card for the list of ingredients on the serum sample, because I was going to buy it. I then looked up and saw that the two workers were still hovering over me and staring. They were watching me to make sure I didn't take the paper sample! I've purchased many items from Nordstrom, and my sister, mother, as well as myself are cardholders. I was nothing but kind to the workers in the beauty department at Southcoast plaza, but left the store today feeling embarrassed and awkward because they though I would take a paper sample that said not for resale on the back. I ended up going to sephora and buying the palette instead. I won't be returning to this Nordstrom again, as the workers in the beauty department made me too uncomfortable to do so. read more

I love this store and have shopped Nordstrom for 67 years. I started modeling at Nordstrom when I was 16 and still in high school. They opened their shoe store in downtown Portland, Oregon. I modeled size 4 shoes in the big window on Broadway St. every Saturday afternoon and then walked around the store to show off the shoes......high heels and platforms...feeling very posh and spiffy. I don't write many reviews, but I owe Jim in Men's Furnishings a huge thank you for his help today. I need a new blazer for Easter Sunday, but was left in a lurch after waiting three weeks for one I ordered from another men's store (not gonna name names, but rhymes with schmooks smothers), which could not deliver on their promised pick up date even though only very basic tailoring was needed (sleeve adjustment for an off the rack item). Within one minute of my arrival, Jim recognized the panic on my face, sized me up perfectly without even having to ask, and had me in the fitting room wearing a quality garment ready for fitting. Knowing my time constraint, his next move was to call and double check my alterations will be complete by Saturday. And now I rest easy because I know it will be. To me the excellent customer service I received today deserves more than the hand shake and thank you I provided in return, so I am taking the time out of my day to sit down and write this. Like I stated earlier, I haven't left many reviews on Yelp, but the ones I do leave are at least sincere, and with that, Jim once again I thank you. I just bought my husband two new Hugo Boss suits at Nordstroms Rack In Metro Point in Costa Mesa, Ca. Patty Hernandez helped fit my husband and get his suits altered. She also helped me pull shirts, shoes , ties, socks and even his boxers. She was so professional, answered all our questions and she was quick(this is according to my husband key to good service)...Mr. Patience was a bear but she gave my husband several choices and was a huge help getting him fitted properly. Seriously could not have gotten this mission completeed without her expert help. She is a true asset to the Nordstrom organization. I was completely ignored and when I did get help the customer service person left to help another customer in the middle of my return. I got my make-up done - looked great except for the eye infection and doctor bills that followed. I made an order to Nordstrom's for a Rebecca Minkoff satchel as a Christmas gift for my wife. I made the order on December 6, 2013. I got a confirmation email, but did not check the email box again until a few days before Christmas because I did not receive the order. When I checked my email box again, on the morning of December 22, 2013, I saw that Nordstrom had sent another email indicating that the order was cancelled since the purse was not available. I then scrambled to order another one, but had to tell my wife that the purse she wanted would not be under the Christmas tree as she was expecting because it could not be shipped or delivered by Christmas. I simply ordered another one and advise her that it would not get to our house until after Christmas. However, on December 24, 2013, there was a box on our front porch and it was the purse. Although I had not paid for overnight shipping, and even though the website indicated that I could not get it by Christmas even by priority shipping, it was shipped priority and delivered in two days. My wife was very happy about it and it was a good surprise. This was great customer service. read more

About a week ago I went to Nordstrom . I was looking for a new winter suit and since my last suit came from Nordstrom I figured there was no better place to start than there. Located off of Bristol Street, Nordstrom can be a bit of a madhouse at times especially around Christmas which at Nordstrom starts in early November. On a busy day, the parking lot looks like a hybrid BMW and Mercedes dealership. Row upon row of Mercedes' and Beamers fill the lot. Good luck finding an open space. I ended up parking across the street. Upon entering the mall, I was welcomed by the familiar brand names worn by the rich and famous of the world. In fact, while on my way to the men's department , I stopped and tried on a Rolex. I figured why not pretend a little and play some adult dress up with a seventy thousand dollar watch. After looking around at a few other stores and taking mental notes of all the stuff I wanted I decided it was time to go look for my suit. The service in this department is always great. The men who work in this department are very knowledgeable, and I firmly believe Nordstrom only hires the best to deal with its customers. I told a man in a satin suit jacket and dark pants who approached me I was just looking around and he told me that if I needed anything to just holler. While searching through the stacks of neatly folded slacks and fingering through the hanging suit jackets I had to take a seat. I was holding a pair of plaid pants and thinking they were the ones, until I looked at the price tag. Five hundred dollars... Five Hundred dollars for a pair of pants! I put the pants down and thought to myself I am getting Punk'd right now. But Asthon Kutcher never popped out, and no cameramen emerged from behind the hanging jackets, it was just me and a five hundred dollar pair of pants. In distress that I would not be able to find anything within my budget, I called the man backover to me. He did of course in a very efficient and professional manner, and I am very satisfied with my new suit. The whole suit cost around four hundred dollars. The shirt was one hundred dollars. The pants and Jacket were three hundred dollars exact. I recommend this store to highly to anyone who likes expensive things or wants to look nice the next time they go out. read more

Worst experience I've had here. Have purchased tens of thousands of dollars worth of men's shoes and apparel here. One of my $400- $500 pairs of Prada shoes split and the manager offered only to send them out to possibly glue them for which I would have to pay? No exchange offered. Didn't even offer to sell me more. Never wanted to return or any kind of refund, just to get some Prada's that I could wear. So sorry my regular guy for 10 plus years is gone. NARS counter: I had my makeup done there and the people there are super friendly. This includes most of the other makeup counters too. They did make me wait a little for my appointment, but they were super busy that day so its understandable. The girl who did my makeup was so thoughtful and asked me if i was comfortable with this and that colors since I was kinda indecisive. But something I noticed with the makeup counters is that if you have a question or a demand you have to directly ask or tell them because very few of them actually make the effort to talk to you. read more

Nordstrom has hundreds of options when it comes to shoes. From options for men, women, juniors, and, children, finding the perfect shoe is definitely bound to be destined. A shoe shiner is offered to any person who may need a good shoe shining for a special occasion or perhaps just work. High heels are presented in every color, fashion, and design any girl or boy could ever want. The different geometric shapes and fabrics suit any specific taste, whether it be comfy and cozy or chic and high fashioned. Once the customer is ready to check out, he or she approaches the cash register. The sales associate asks if he or she was helped by anyone, and the customer has a difficult decision to choose just one. Once the transaction is over, the sales associate who was on the register walks the customer his or her bag of new items around the counter. That gesture shows so much respect for the customer and gladly welcomes him or her back for another visit in the future. Nordstrom's is by far one of the best places to shop. The store offers something for everyone, even if it is just a cup of coffee, but so much more for others. I learned on Yelp there is a shoe shine in the Nordstrom at South Coast Plaza. I came by and was delighted to catch Jonathan during an afternoon when he had an opening. I brought two pair of black patent leather shoes, which he quickly revived, all while engaging with me in cheerful conversation. He withheld the charge for the service because he didn't think they needed much work. Could it get any better? I have a pair of leather slingbacks in camel, a pair in black, and some black boots for fall that I will be happy to pay for having his service again soon! read more
