This location was recently remodeled and has 3 stories. 1st floor has customer service at the entrance facing sunflower, cosmetics, women's shoes, handbags and bp, topshop and new saavy. 2nd floor - Tbd, designer, lingerie,dresses, the Ebar 3rd- the rail, mens shoes, kids clothing, kids shoes and the cafe. I absolutely love shopping with Joseph Demadura in BP shoes. He's amazing and contacts me when my favorite brands have new product, creates digital online look books, and helps me get waitlisted on hard to find designer items. He treats all customers the same and will go out of his way to even help you with products from other departments. I would highly recommend anyone to shop with him and trust him with all fashion advice, styling and consultations ! read more

Update: i placed my order Tuesday, for pickup Wednesday and it was delayed till Friday and actually ready on Monday. I did not receive any updates for my order (that was a gift for a friend leaving back to Hawaii at 7am on Tuesday morning) until Monday. By the time I got to south coast plaza the store was closed. I'm still furious with customer service because no one called (after I had called several times about the order) and every email I received was from a different person saying the same thing "I'm sorry you are frustrated" duhhhh!!!!! They didn't have any to try on in-store so he helped us order from Arizona and have it shipped to my home address. There were several minuscule steps that occurred during the transaction but he was extremely patient and efficient. What has happened to Nordstrom? The last few times I've been in it has been so disappointing. Very little selection and the customer service is non existent. I was just there today, I walked around for a solid 45 minutes looking around and not one Nordstrom employee said hello to Me or asked if I needed any help with anything. I even walked around with a dress I wanted to try on and no one approached me. I followed an employee into the dressing room and asked to try on my item. Going to Nordstrom at Southcoast Plaza was always so enjoyable. I felt like my patronage was valued whether I purchased something that day or not. Sadly, the standards have gone way down and their reputation of amazing customer service has long been gone. I really hope they step back and reevaluate the way they are doing business. Came to return a jacket coat I bought as a last min thing for Christmas turns out the person Alex who help me with fitting got me a size to small but in the rush of things and it being last min not a big problem . Well a few weeks go by and I didn't wear jacket because didn't fit good so I coke to return it for a different jacket diff size . The staff in the men's department were helpful and brought the manager "blonde lady" didn't get her name but she was very helpful also took my exchange no problem. I really can't say enough amazing things about her and the experience that I had but just look at the photo and see the magic that she made happen! Horrible experience , I went with my boyfriend to shop my Christmas present at the store , Tom Ford parfum was not available at store , Lady at the department said that store could ship it to store or my house . I chose to pick it up at store . She then proceed to run his credit card and took my info in order for me to pick it up this week . Now I check my email order was canceled by Nordstrom because they don't have that item in stock , and they money was going to be reimbursed to credit card on file . My boyfriend is out of town . Now I have to wait for him 2 weeks to come back to get my Christmas gift . I called to Nordstrom to at least get a gift card or give me the option to pick a different item with my order number . I wrote this on google as well but I'd thought I'd write on Yelp too since people should steer clear of the personnel working at Nordstrom South Coast especially people of color The story is that I ordered something online from Nordstrom, a moncler polo. I don't usually buy moncler, it was a gift for my father. IT came and was too small. So we decided it was best to go in person to exchange the sizes. Upon my parents going to do this, (and they had the receipts for everything also they have the same name as I do so I wouldn't think it'd be an issue) they were accused of returning a 'fake'. First of all, not even sure where you'd get fake moncler and secondly, I wouldn't spend nearly $500 on one shirt for it to be a fake. Despite having the shipping receipt WITH them AND ID's that would prove they live at the address where the item was shipped (which is ridiculous that that's needed in the first place) they were met with hostility. The only reasoning I could come up with is that we are people of color and obviously I guess they didn't expect people of color to afford something like a designer polo. Again, i would never go around accusing a business of anything heinous but only after threatening legal action DESPITE having all documentation of buying the item at Nordstrom, then they relented After all this, THEY NEVER APOLOGIZED!!! My parents went their way and exchanged the item for a new Moncler polo which yeah obviously we can pay for. The fact that they accused my family of being criminals despite having documentation for everything is just total reasoning for them being biased and discriminatory. This review is specifically for the poor service I received over the phone today from Joanne in Women's fragrances. I was planning some Christmas shopping and I have a list of 3 perfume sets I am going to buy. It's busy I get it but I am going to call and check if you have what I want before going and finding out it's out of stock when I get there. She answers the phone and when I told her I wanted to check if she had a few item number in stock she seemed bothered and said she was busy with a customer. Fine, then why answer the phone? So, I told her I was happy to hold for someone else. She said everyone is busy. So not only did she not help me but she blocked everyone/anyone else from helping me? I was at this location in Nordstrom, and decided to take a peek on their huge selection of merchandise. This store is mainly known for the larger selections of merchandise, compared to their other locations, and somewhat lack of customer service. But this time, this visit was different. I was browsing in the Individualist department, when a nice woman, by the name of Gloria, who promptly greeted me, inquired if I needed assistance. I decided to try on something, that Gloria picked out, and it was a winner. Gloria is a prime example of what Nordstrom customer service truly is, and she's definitely a sales associate who exemplifies Nordstrom professionalism. Gloria is professional, courteous, friendly, and knew everything about the merchandise. I usually don't go to this Nordstrom location because of driving distance, but I'm now a customer for life because of Gloria. Also, a shoutout to phoung in alterations, she is the best!!! This review is specifically for Chanel makeup stand located in Nordstrom at South Coast. I took my mom to the Chanel makeup stand for Mother's Day as she mentioned she needed a new lip stick. We walked in and there must have been at least 3 people (sales people) standing around doing nothing, I kept scanning around trying to find the lip stick section (I'm not a regular there obviously) and yet no one asked if we needed any help. A Caucasian customer walked by and this one sales lady walked right past me (when I was there first) and basically ran after the l Caucasian lady asking if she needed help. She politely said no. At this time We are still standing around waiting for someone to approach us. I had to walk up to someone and ask for help. It was obvious we were trying to find something and given that we were the only customer there (besides the one Caucasian lady that walked by) and there were at least 3 available people standing around. I found it unprofessional. I am extremely disappointed in the customer service. The person who ended up helping us did a great job and she was extremely helpful. I've always had a good experience at this location, whether I was buying makeup or something in one of the other departments. I like when they host the Fall or Spring Trend Makeup Events because they put on a fashion show to show off outfits you could buy in store and makeup trends to try out for the season. These are ticketed events where you can use the $20 gift card, AKA your ticket, on anything either day of the show or any time afterwards. During those events, they bring in experts, makeup and skincare artists, and sometimes the founders of certain brands to meet attendees who will demo products or treatments on them free of charge. (Of course, they're hoping you make a purchase that day.) Even when I've gone for other reasons, like picking up a gift for my cousin's firstborn, the people working there have greeted me warmly, asked if I needed help, and many tried to keep a pleasant conversation going as I checked out. (Ex. One gal chatted with me about my Spider-man wallet I made when I bought my cousin's firstborn a headband.) I'm a fan of the Chanel and MAC counters at this location because the teams there are very well-versed in their product lines and have been helpful in answering my questions. The former has been great with making suggestions for colors and products to use. Recently I had a makeover done with their counter during the Trend Show and when I went to purchase the lipstick used on me, they were out of stock in store and online. They took my number down and promised to call me once they have it back in. I did call back recently and one gal remembered me, answering my questions about a similar shade in another lipstick formula they offered. I'd definitely come back here. read more

This is a good Nordstrom location. It has a lot of options for men and my wife loves shopping here because her personal shopper knows exactly what she wants and keeps on top of everything. I like the layout and the Men's section is better upstairs than in the mass of people downstairs. I find that their selection of jeans is quite good and they always have something that works for me. My wife loves the shoe department as well. She tends to vanish for long periods if time and usually has several bags upon return. I would recommend this store if you are looking for upscale fashion. read more

This review is about Nordstrom.com. I order my husband's work shirts from the Mission Viejo location but with the pandemic there is limited stock on items which I understand. I had to order online. I have had problems with their pricing, cancellation on items, and trying to get an adjustment is inconvenient. It is no wonder that Amazon is taking over retail. If the Nordstrom family is reading this, or any person of influence in policy making of Nordstrom is made aware of this post, please reconsider your "limited time sale" price adjustment. I cannot get a price adjustment for an item that I bought just six days ago. If I returned the item to the store it take 5-7 days to get the refund. If I send the item back by mail it takes 10-14 days to get the refund. I just spoke to a "customer service rep" and she was no help either, So, If I receive a gift card from Nordstrom, I'll just keep it and regift it at a later time. Amazon is more user friendly and I experience less friction. read more

This is one of my favorite Nordstroms to shop at. Its always busy and its big! I stopped in to check out their sale. I ended up grabbing a ton of cute items, and got a dressing room right away. The dressing rooms are nice and clean and I don't ever have an issue with clutter or getting help with items if I need different sizing. Staff is friendly but when I was waiting in line to check out, a staff member was walking out of the dressing room with a few women and their items and walked up to a register and rang them up even though I was next in line. That kind of bummed me out a bit but I ended up getting assistance a minute after so no love lost. Honestly, the variety of brands/clothes is why I end up here instead of the Brea location even though that one is a bit closer to me. read more

I asked a woman at a nearby register to assist me with a return and she initially accepted but eventually suggested that go to the returns department located at the other end of the store. I wish I got her name! Ralph A. DESERVES WAY MORE THAN 5 STARS!!!! He went above and beyond and came over to assist me (at a different department) on his own accord without hesitation. This store definitely has a hidden gem employee and rest assured, I would highly recommend this store location solely because of this one person. Have to call out great customer service, as it's not really that common today. I have shopped here multiple times for various fragrances or clothes, and it has always been okay, but nothing particularly special. However, yesterday, my partner and I went in to get a toiletry bag. The one we liked was just way overpriced, and more than we were wanting to spend on such an item. The salesperson Mark not only went in the back to find a much less expensive (and nicer) bag, but walked a good way across the store to find us with it, as we had already left that area. I shopped at Nordstrom South Coast Plaza on Bristol Street in Costa Mesa. This was the first time I have shopped at this location. They have an Anniversary Sale until August 5th of 2018. It's a very large store with three floors and it was a very busy shopping day. Diana bought some cosmetics that she needed on the first floor. The sales person that helped her was very knowledgeable so Diana bought ten items that she needed. Then I went to the third floor where the men's department was. The sales person was nice and friendly so I was able to find all the items that I was looking for. I then paid at the cashier desk where the lady was very nice and friendly.
