My wife and I recently discovered this hidden gem on Cleveland's east side. Located on the third floor of the Nordstrom Department store, the grill is clean, quiet, and comfortable. Large windows let in plenty of natural light. The service has always been wonderful - notably David and Dre are courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly, not to mention exceptional at anticipating our needs. The menu is approachable, and everything is made from scratch (even the bread)! We've been especially impressed with the soups and the burger. Highly recommend if you need a break from the noise. Would also be a great place to meet for a working lunch or camp out for an afternoon if working remotely. read more

This place is tucked away on the 3rd floor of Nordstrom in Beachwood mall so unless you know about it, you won't know about it. Good service, good food what else can you ask for? There was 4 of us so we got to try number of things. Between my wife and I, we tried their soup of the day (tomato bisque), brussels sprouts frite, heirloom tomatoes and burrata, chicken tacos and one of their salads. I ate here twice before and each time the food was great. Today the food was absolutely amazing truly tasteful. I order the Fish and Chips and Crab Bisque and both were piping hot and flavorful. The fish were perfect crisp, it wasn't too hard or greasy like other restaurants and the fries were the perfect crunch. Many people are not aware of this Hidden place at Nordstrom department store. I had been here many times, I was surprised that I hadn't left any reviews. The cafe is small but still plenty of people can be seated. The menu often changes depends on season and always new things are added on. I like their salads and small bites. However, I have tried their fish and chips just without chips, also was good. The most what I like is easy atmosphere in the cafe. The staff is friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about their menu. Hidden gem. That place has the best French dip sandwich and the best sweet potatoes fries. The sandwich typically comes with standard potatoes fries and those are excellent too. I ordered an appetizer platter. Most of it was good, but I wasn't ready for the Calamari. I love rings, but the real babies with suction cups creeped me out. While shopping for my daughters homecoming on a Saturday it was great break to have a bite for lunch! We both got the kids tomato soup and grilled cheese with salads. Everything was hot and fresh! The only downfall was that one side of my grilled cheese wasn't melted to well... I had three thick slices of cheese that were just there lol.. The waitress was nice to have it remade for me. They seemed very busy and it took a lil while before I received the second grilled cheese. Yet, very satisfying! Always a go to while in Beachwood mall. Rachel and Joseph were both very hospitable, welcoming, and exceptional - managers like them help make Nordstrom one of the best when it comes to quality and customer service. Our favorites were the crab bisque (delicious) and the halibut (filling and light at the same time, not greasy). The quality of food is very high (for example, lots of organic options and wild-caught seafood rather than far-raised seafood full of chemicals harmful to both humans and the fish etc.). I've eaten at several Nordstrom Cafe's and while some are quite good, this one was a bit lackluster. The service was prompt and our server Chaun was relatively attentive to the soy allergy in our group. Unfortunately the food wasn't up to par. The salmon in the salmon salad was dry, over cooked and salty. The rest of the food was average. I would try it again the next time I'm in Cleveland but I won't be going out of my way to eat at Nordstrom's Grill. read more

What? Apparently I've never taken the time to review the grill at Nordstrom. Okay, here's the deal. Yes, it's a little more expensive than the food court, about twice as much. So if you have kids in tow, I might opt for Chick Filet too. But if you're solo, or you and your pardner, hit this place up. It's really convenient if you're shopping at Nordstrom and you'll get to eat food with high quality ingredients, have decent table side service and real flat ware to boot. And, for those inclined, you can have an adult beverage or two with your meal. Today I had the Caesar Salad with grilled chicken and my wife got the Turkey Avocado Sandwich. Today we had the best service ever for a large group. Our waiter, Tony, was pleasant, thorough and professional. Seventeen ladies arrived. Tony helped to push tables together, and handed out all menus on time. He was organized taking all orders. He knew which salad each of us had (we all had salads)!! The menu had good selections, house wines, and cocktails from the bar. The salads were large and delicious. The rolls were chewy, and nice with the salad. I had the Asian chicken salad. It included an adequate amount of grilled chicken with an Asian sauce. Lots of salad goodies and crunchies were found among the lettuce. Most don't know about the Nordstrom Grill or they forget it's there when considering options to eat. They have great fresh options including beer and wine. I had an avocado chicken sandwich with fries. Brussel sprouts or mash potatoes are also available as a substitute for fries. During my Nordstrom visit, I thoroughly enjoyed my French Onion Soup, Fried Calamari, and Burger. Nordstrom's recipe for French Onion Soup is tops. I have yet to find a better french onion soup anywhere. It's definitely my favorite! The calamari was light and perfectly cooked, served with the most delicious dipping sauce. It's a bit pricey for a lunch meal while shopping, but it is completely worth it! The fried chicken sandwich is pretty good, but my favorite is the Prime Rib Sandwich. One of my favorites when I'm out in Beachwood - Nordstrom's NEVER disappoints!!! I can honestly say I have loved every single thing I've ever tried here.. let's start with soups. The tomato bisque is amazing and such a classic I get all the time! So creamy and good (and you can buy a jar of it to go)! Now the Turkey Chili I had this week that was the daily special.. OH MY GOD! It was to die for. I got 4 BOWLS of it to go... Mmm. It tastes exactly like a (really good) chicken paprikash. There were so few beans (which I prefer), delicious shredded roasted turkey.. ahh. Get the soup. My fiance got the grilled halibut with the risotto (on regular menu) and it was fantastic. It had some peas, french onion, pesto.. lemon.. yum! Such a nice, big filet of fish, too. Now the French dip sandwich is to die for as well, that's my most ordered item here. You have to get it the "old way" though. Ask for the bread it used to come on, and 100% ask for it with garlic aoili, you'll thank me later!! (Although your spouse might not after getting a whiff of your breath, ha but it's worth it)! Fries (even sweet potato fries) are delicious. Bottom line, everything is delicious. Our waitress was AMAZING-her name was Ashley. She was so so friendly, offered suggestions, and was fun! The food came out super fast as well and I was surprised at the vast menu options. Salads were clearly the way to go, we were jealous as we saw them passing by, next time that's what I'll go for! Sandwiches/burgers were all delicious but fries were a little over cooked and crispy. Desserts weren't anything to write home about-which made me sad cause I was hoping to have a worthy diet cheat! Such a nice place to relax after a hard day of shopping! Here I had the best turkey and avocado sandwich that I've ever had. Super flavorful and always leaves me full and content. The fries are good as well except I wish that there were more sauce options. I honestly don't understand what everyone on here likes so much about this place. After reading all the good reviews I went to Nordstrom Grill for lunch a few days ago. First of all, the place smells like food, which is something that would be ok for a diner or a fast-food chain but not for an "upscale" restaurant they are trying to be. I don't necessarily like when my clothes and hair smell like food afterwards. The chicken sandwich was the worst i ever had: chicken was bland and tasteless, i won't even start on everything else we ordered as the quality and taste left much to be desired. By the way, the place is not cheap. We also got the receipt with the wrong amount and they had to process the payment twice. I'm still waiting for the refund on the payment that was voided. This is a nice refreshing restaurant where I had really good service from the server. I got the chicken ceassr salad which was delicious. The lettuce was fresh and crisp and the dressing was perfect. The rolls could be better though. For dessert I had the paradise chocolate cake which is nothing to write home about. If you get it I would drizzle the carmel over the top.
