Came in with girlfriend while we looked for new pants. The first selection area didn't fit her needs, as the pairs she liked ended up all being distressed with large holes. The others were extremely high wasted whoch isnt her style. But eventually she found a few pairs in the back area, that were the following the current trend of, bell-bottom, boot cut and or high waisted. So the "Jeggings" section was the more standard fit that she was looking for. I also noticed that American Eagle will take your old jeans and give you a discount on your next pair. Originally I though it was a buy back offer which I though was pretty cool, but later realized it more of a $10 credit to the next pair bought in store. There were also a number of 50% off deals on various garments for both men & women, which is definitely a good incentive to purchase clothing here. read more

Great location, American Eagle you get good value. I like it and will definitely be back.

I'm not a particular fan of American Eagle, nor do I go out of my way to shop there. Nevertheless, I was killing time on a recent visit to the mall and decided to browse the store. It's a valuable shop if you are looking for American Eagle products you may not find elsewhere, but the prices are high and the service is hit or miss, so there's little argument against going elsewhere to find what you need. I'm a taller guy and the first thing I look for are clothes in my size. I found few. I also found no help when looking for a shirt that I did like in my size. On the other hand, there was one gal there who greeted me and was friendly and chipper, but she was occupied with someone else my entire visit. Like all mall stores, they are also enforcing some COVID-19 restrictions, which I respect, so you may face a line to enter during holiday season because of shopping capacity. read more

Workers are amazing here! Was trying my best to find a size 0 and when a worker realized I was struggling, she came over to help right away. While there still wasn't many options in my size, I was able to find two pairs of amazing jeans shorts that are both now my go-to pairs. The dressing rooms are well set up and the workers make sure there is always someone by the dressing rooms. All my clothes from AE last a long time and continue to stay in style so I never feel like I am wearing something out of date. The jean shorts are quite expensive, around $90, but clearance always has good deals. I've even got a pair for as low as $18. read more

This store is fine in terms of inventory, but some of the employees are so rude that I will no longer be shopping here. They usually check you in/let you in to the fitting rooms at this location. I was waiting with my items for a room to be available & there were 2 female employees folding/hanging clothes left behind. They both clearly looked at me, saw me waiting for a room, and instead of addressing me they began whispering or each other (I heard "how long until she..." and couldn't make out the rest). I waited and assumed they were clearing the open room out, which no big deal, I wasn't in a hurry. One of them looked at me and said "do you need a room or something?" And I replied "yes." She rolled her eyes, made eye contact with the other girl working, and said "well then...just go in one I guess." I said thank you and went ahead, and heard them talking about "weird customers" who "don't know how this works." The same girl who addressed me directly rolled her eyes at me when I left and hung up what I wasn't going to purchase. The whole thing was especially strange because I shop there semi regularly and they have always asked for an item count before showing me to a fitting room. I love American Eagle clothes. Jeans especially. They're the only jeans that fit my particular size requirements. And now they have flex jeans for men. I died and went to heaven when I bought a pair of those. If this review was about jeans and overall apparel, it would be 5 stars, but it's not. LOCATION: This store location is at the end of the mall near Macy's. Not a lot of traffic compared to other stores which seems like the perfect ordeal. Short lines, personal attention and the scoop on all the deals, right? No. EXPERIENCE: I came from Yuba City and the small town life has spoiled me. The Arden location isn't the best by comparison. The workers are impersonal to say the least. Nit once have I been given the scoop on the current deals. Well, there was that one time I was already at the counter with about 12 people behind me and I get to the front with one pair of flip flops and they tell me it's buy one get one. There was no sign posted and no one giving it that information on the floor so everyone had to wait while I felt rushed to find another pair. The workers are not knowledgeable about the products or they just didn't care. I felt like calling the Yuba city store to ask for Amy. She's the Jean expert there and that's no overstatement. I come here for the clothes. I spent way more money at the Yuba City location just because I was made aware of new deals or incoming shipments. read more

Johnathan Saephan has the worse customer service. He should not be a manager. He is not qualify and very unprofessional. He should be retained otherwise you guys will lose a lot of customers. I will never go to this location ever again and will let my family and friends all know not to because he is racist and calls his loyal customers fraud. He should not be working there. He doesn't know what he is doing. I am a loyal customer of American Eagle for years since my teenage years. Now that I have a teenage daughter she is also shopping at American eagle. I always get emails on good deals so I do most of my shopping online. I became a member because an employee told the rewards of becoming a memeber where I can get free jeans if I buy a certain number of them. Also that all my receipts will be linked to the account when I make a transaction online or in store. So I thought that I wouldn't need to keep receipts since it's linked to my account. I brought in a few of pants I ordered online to switch for bigger size and didn't have the receipt so I ask the manager who did not want to disclose his name to me but instead told me his name was JOM ASM exact word he wrote on the a piece of paper when I ask him for his name and his managers name. I'd don't find out his name until the receipt of my transaction went thru and saw that his name was on the receipt. He hurried up and grab the receipt from me and said I wasn't allow to have his name. I came in the store around 8pm. Johnathan couldn't pull up my receipts so I went on my email to find the receipts. Was able to find all but 2 pairs. Johnathan then proceeded to grab my phone and went thru my email and started tying things in to try and look for the invoice for the other two pair that we consult pull up the receipt for. By then it was about half an hour in. I felt so violated that he grabbed my phone and went thru my email because I have personal information in there. He was very rude through out this whole transaction and treated me like as if I was a criminal. The sizes I need was not in stock so johnathan returned the the pants I had invoices for and told me I needed to find something to exchange for the other two pair of pants. By now it's was around 8:40pm I had my daughter with me. I was in no mood to shop. I still manage to go find something but they did not have my daughter size she needed and so they ordered it online. The girl who helped me made an even exchange. For the other pair of pants the store policy clearly said I was able to get store credit. So I ask the girl who helped me to ask johnathan. Johnathan comes over and reads the sign to me in slow mo and gave me this blank stare and repeatedly read the last sentence out-loud twice. Which states IF THERE APPEARS TO BE FRAUD OR ABUSE WE MAY NOT RETURN ITEM. I was humiliated and almost cried. I can't believe he accused me of fraud. I was shooked. I then told him I needed corporates number and his managers name and number because by this time I was not going to deal with this kid anymore. I felt so dis respected he didn't not give me corporates number. I had to google it. He did not give me his full name. He did give me his managers name and number and customer service number. After all this and when I told him I was going to reach out to corporate he then proceeded to give me a store credit for the pair of pants i didn't have an invoice to. I have so many emails. I spent almost half an hour pulling them up and couldn't pull this one up. By this time it was almost closing time there was a line of ppl trying to check out. I was so embarrassed I walked out to my car crying. Can't believe this kid who can be my son is so disrespectful and I'm professional. I used to be a die hard fan for American Eagle hi-rise jeans. They were my go to jeans and were perfect since they always seem to last a long time and be running some sort of deal on jeans. Well no more do I love the jeans. They have changed in quality and now they are ripping on me in less than a year. Plus my last visit here left me disgruntled. I came in asking for hi-rise jeans in black to which the person working stated "we don't have that." Which is weird since I was replacing a pair that had recently ripped. I said, "well I have a pair now, so did you guys like discontinue them...?" She then says she has no idea and walks away. I continue my shopping and find yes they do have them but instead of being called JEANS they are JEGGINGS. He went above and beyond to try and help me... and locate an item, and when it wasnt in stock offered alternative options, it was the just the very pleasant attitude and great customer service and professionalism this young man portrayed himself with, that made me want to write a nice review about this store and about this locations employees, all the employees were very friendly and Angel L. had outstanding positivity!! This used to be one of my favorite stores. I don't shop here as often now, but it's worth checking out every once in a while. I love it when they have a sale! I found some shorts and several pairs of cute summer shoes that were on sale. My main complaint with AE stores is getting a dressing room. You have to find an associate on the floor and ask them to open up a room for you. I have an AE Rewards card. You earn 1 point for every dollar spent, online or at American Eagle or Aerie and points are totaled every 3 months. If you earn a certain amount, then you get a coupon for a certain percentage to use the next time you go shopping. The more you spend, the bigger the discount. I don't shop here enough to earn the discounts but I do get a birthday coupon emailed to me for 15% off. read more

I recently rediscovered American Eagle so I decided to visit this location to exchange an item I purchased online. Pro Tip: You pretty much have to return everything you buy online to the store unless you want to pay $$$ to ship everything back yourself. They don't have a prepaid return label. Anyways, I came in and they had a great selection of almost everything I saw online in a variety of sizes and colors. I typically take a Small at Abercrombie (I like things a little big) but I noticed here that I was an XSmall in almost all shirts. I found some adorable "Ahh-Mazingly Soft" Plaid Boyfriend Shirts so I picked one up and this is where I found the downside to this store; the checkout! Both times I was in, there was one person checking out while a few others stood around the register area and ignored the line. So I waited. And waited. I will keep coming back to this location as long as the clothes suit my style. I'm at least a decade older than their target audience but you can't tell where the stuff is from when you are wearing it. read more

I equate visiting malls with visiting the dentist, not my favorite place ever. AE is located towards the end of the mall. It's easy to park outside Starbucks and run down the hall past Hotdog On A Stick. Turn right, AE will be one of the last stops on the first floor by the escalator. I usually have to visit AE with returns, so they probably don't like me as much as I like them. On this past visit they kept telling me to keep a shirt that I had paid for, because I "hadn't been charged for it". I was, in the end, able to exchange the shirt for another one because I had paid for it, it had just come in a separate envelope so I didn't have the receipt (which is supposed to be kept online in your AE Rewards Account). They have a ton of size variety in the Women's side, but I've found they don't carry that many sizes on the Men's side. I'm not complaining on my part, but it makes finding things for my husband a bit more difficult. It's worth waiting around for their quarterly sales and stocking up then. AE usually sends a coupon with a large online order so you can use that in store if you need to exchange any items. The staff is friendly enough. I have been shopping with AE for most of my adult life. I love the way the jeans fit and how helpful the staff USUALLY is. I went into the store today to ask about exchanging some jeans that were too big (I recently lost a significant amount of weight) and was met with the rudest reactions from the staff. Like I said, I have been shopping at American Eagle for well over a decade and I've always been able to bring in jeans and exchange them for new ones. ALWAYS. Regardless, even if the policy did in fact change, there was absolutely no need for the cashiers indifference and the manager's rudeness. I love AE jeans because they fit me perfectly. I recently had a bad experience with a manager who was very emotionless, I was polite and she couldn't even apologize for the inconvenience. Being in retail/ customer service you're suppose to be understanding and sympathetic but she was rude and didn't care. HOWEVER I went in for the same reason, to exchange jeans, but this time Manager Vangie helped me and she was so kind and helpful! I like this American Eagle. It is clean and the staff is super friendly. My favorite part is they have started to carry larger sizes in store. That's wonderful because it's hard to buy clothes online and wait to find they don't fit. This store offers free shipping if you order in store. If I could give this establishment zero stars, I would. I've never been a huge fan of AE clothes but would went in to get some jeans for my younger brother. Some of the stuff I chose was the wrong size and when I took it back, ended up having a misunderstanding with the guy at the register. I had originally bought the pair at another Sacramento store, and there was a discrepancy in the amount I'd get back. Anyway, because the amount was only about $5 I wasn't so concerned about the money but wanted to understand the transaction. The guy at the register was giving me attitude the entire time and didn't bother to try to help me understand the situation at all. When I asked him to watch his tone, he simply walked away from me. Mid-conversation. Then when I asked to speak with the manager, he informed me that I was already talking to him. What sort of retailer walks away from a customer before a conflict has been resolved? Let alone the STORE MANAGER?! His tone and demeanor were completely inappropriate and unprofessional. Probably the most uncomfortable retail experience I've ever had. Went here yesterday after a great lunch at Fresh Choice. I love AE clothes. They are about the only clothing store that actually carry jeans and pants that fit me. ^_^ They have a great selection of jeans and different washes which is awesome. The only one thing I could've done without is the sales people there......When I shop I like to take my time and find things on my own...and ask for help when needed but they were kinda in my space ever 5 minutes. Sorry but no stars for this place. Well, one but that's obligatory bullshit. If you want to purchase things and get on your merry way like me, you're pretty much a retail employee's dream. I can say that as a former retail employee, it's honestly an easy thing to do to just answer a few questions and leave the customer. Those customers are the easy ones. However, I went with my mother who was just going to purchase me a shirt and she did. She was going to purchase more but the sale was confusing her so she just left it at picking up that one shirt for me since it was comfy. She asked a few more questions to the girl, all of which were replied to very rudely. Then of course, my mom got upset as well, considering that she's been buying things for us since we were in elementary school. Basically, a low maintenance customer just asks a few questions, one who normally purchases a lot and you (18-20 something I think) had the, frankly, stupidity in you to be a rude asshole. I don't know what was going on in her head to think that treating anyone that way was acceptable; it was condescending, sarcastic and bratty entitlement at its best. I don't care if you think you're cool or edgy or whatever, a shitty excuse for a shitty person. What probably upsets me the most is that I'm younger than her most likely, and even I know that you should never treat anyone, much less a PAYING customer, in that manner. Especially when they ask questions. I'm pretty sure this person is the one that would get mad if you looked at them funny. Considering this person's perceived attitude and seeming overall intelligence, yeah no, I'm not impressed and I didn't have high hopes to be impressed by someone like her. I digress. People come into the store and make the store money which circles to the employee when they get paid. Come down from your high horse, just being an entitled brat doesn't help your case for being a decent person. I get it too, retail is stressful. I probably would have pulled my hair out. clothes are alright, if you like that clean cut, preppy look. this store happens to be one of the test stores that receives exclusive items to see how well they do. so you can find some stuff here that you won't see elsewhere. it's one of the bigger AE's I've seen. they always have a good selection on the sales rack, albeit a little messy. and they usually carry enough in stock so that they have all sizes available. staff is pretty friendly. i don't know about the current management but I hope it's better than it was a few years back (when i worked there... bleh) and they exploited their employees (not giving proper breaks, OT w/o pay) and forced credit cards applications down the customers throats! if you can bear the heinous crowds and clientele that frequent Arden Fair this store isn't too bad. This is my second attempt to shop at this particular location. Both times were horrible. Poor customer service. You ask a question and the employees give you a round about answer instead of telling you what you asked. Then they don't even answer your questions! How do you know how much an article of clothing is if you don't have them marked?? The clearance section was horrible put together and so messy you can't tell regular priced to clearance price. I'm really upset that I even have to give out a negative review about American eagle because they have been my favorite to buy my jeans from until now, sadly not because of the product but because of the unfortunate poor customer service I received today. I was very excited to receive my free jeans I earned from purchasing several items from AE, until I realized there was a huge hole in the stitching. I had purchased five pairs of jeans and was unhappy with them so went back to the store to return them. I explained to the lady why I was returning the jeans she then proceeds to tell me I can't return the jeans because it will hurt the company and that they will lose money. She said i could exchange the jeans and she would warranty of the other jeans but i can't return them. I had my receipts I had the card I purchased them with along with my government ID and i only owned the jeans for 28 days under a 30 day limit, I then asked for her manager she then said she was the manager which I don't believe she is. I then called the online services and they recommended I call corporate because she doesn't have a real reason of denying me my return. She claims her name is Alicia, never in my life have I had such terrible customer service and been embarrassed in front of several customers. She also spoke to me in a very rude manor and I don't believe that is good behavior of a manager. I will not be shopping here again. I recommend the galleria mall ! read more
