I purchased a pair of shoes from this store approximately six months ago and unfortunately had to return them within their allowable return timeframe because they did not work out for me. I was informed that their store policy does not refund customers back to the original payment method and instead refunds are issued by mailed check within about 14 days. It has now been almost six months and I still have not received my refund. I have called the store numerous times to follow up and each time staff members tell me that only the store manager/owner can assist me. My calls are then transferred to voicemail, but none of my messages have ever been returned. Extremely disappointed with the lack of communication, customer service, and failure to issue a refund that should have been resolved months ago. Being a disabled Army Combat Veteran, I see the Veterans Affairs (VA) on a regular basis to include. One of my more recent appointments was to a Podiatry specialist where they setup an appointment for me at Shoes That Fit for customs orthotics and Shoes. My first appointment for my personal fitting was on a Saturday morning. Once I arrived I was greeted and taken to a sitting area in front of a foot scanning machine. I was asked a few questions and then placed my feet on the machine to be scanned. After the scanning process was done, and I was then asked by the female assistant what type of shoe I was looking for; i.e. standard every day, dress/casual, or running. I told them something like my New Balance 998's that I was wearing st the time of my visit. So the lady helping me decided to find a New Balance they had in stock that could work. Once all of that was taken care I was then given another follow up appointment, to try the fit of the new custom orthotics and shoes. At my follow up appt I then tried on my new shoes with the custom orthotics. Once I had both pair on the lady helping me had me walk around the store with them on to see how they felt, because if they didn't feel right I could get the orthotics fix and tried on again. Everything felt fine though so I took my new shoes home after thst fit. Overall: Staff was very professional and extremely helpful, and I left with ni issues with my new shoe or custom orthotics. read more

I have a bad case of plantar fasciitis. We walked the streets of San Francisco last weekend & it did me in for this entire week:( Curtis the sales clerk here was very helpful & brought out new orthotic inserts to place inside my fairly new walking shoes taking out the original layer of the shoe & extra insert. He advised that I wear my orthotic Vionic slippers inside the house like wifey does who I stubbornly don't listen to! What a mistake! Unfortunately I can be wrong; I admit it! Bc of the pandemic they don't have their usual stock of orthotics, shoes & accessories so be patient with that. Remember I'm married to the most indecisive impatient person but she was very persistent & insistent in helping me find that small business shoe store in town. Fortunately for me I was able to pick up at least one pair of orthotic inserts that fit me. My wife however felt like a kid in the candy store with a possibility of shopping for shoes in person bc her favorite shoe store is no longer in town but only online. I know we will ultimately be back! Be aware products aren't cheap here. But when you need good quality items you get what you pay for so be ready to pay for it. Drove to Elk Grove from Vacaville since this store said they carried Mephisto brand. They did, but very limited. The older gentlemen assisting me asked me to try Finn brand shoe since none of the Mephisto's were the style I was looking to purchase. I did, but they seemed too clunky. I tried a couple other brands he recommended too. As I tried on I took a picture of them on my feet so I could zoom in and see them on my phone better. Plus, I wanted to get my daughter's opinion since she couldn't come with me so I shared pics with her. The clerk then said to me that he wasn't going to show me any other shoes if I was going to take a picture of them and order online. Well, I wasn't going to order online since I don't like buying shoes that way. I wouldn't have come all the way from Vacaville if I was going to just order online! Especially since I had to drive through all the freeway construction to visit this store. It's not like I took pictures of the box with all the info. I took pic of shoe on my foot. I didn't even know the name of the shoe or anything other than the brand. Needless to say, I was upset. I went in here because I have a trip to Universal Studios planned this weekend and I was concerned about all the walking we'd be doing. The shoes I have aren't great for long time wear, as I've learned many times. Well, this place gets 4-stars because they try to educate you about the misconceptions you might have learned about shoes. They spend the time to find out about your lifestyle and needs, and make recommendations based on your personal preferences. I got a little scared when I got home and they felt too big, because this is an investment in yourself, for sure. The shoes I got were not cheap! But, they are made of quality materials and have certifications from medical professionals, which, I must say, is a first for me. What's more is that when I called with my buyers remorse, thinking these would be a mistake, the sales lady offered to come in and see me earlier in the day, before the store opens, to accommodate my work schedule. Sofia, I am sorry for the follow-up call! My husband looked them over on me, said it didn't look at all like they were slipping and encouraged me to go with it. They feel different because they are. This place is great! Friendly AND knowledgeable service.... My husband went in about a year ago. He has moderate to severe foot pain that his podiatrist pretty much wrote off as "it is what it is" (not even kidding unfortunately, but that's a different review!) They were attentive and listened, having him try a few different types of shoes (running/active) along with an orthotic insert. My husband left with a pair of shoes and inserts and has been near pain free since. He has a very active job and is an avid exercise junkie so this was a huge win. I developed pain in my foot recently that made weight bearing and walking unbearable at times. I too have an active job that keeps me on my feet most of the day. My doctor cleared me of any fracture or sprain saying I "just have some arthritis". I went into the store hoping I could find something that would help and was once again impressed with the service. They LISTEN and take their time finding what works. They explained what exactly was causing the pain and, more importantly, how to relieve it. I left a very happy (optimistic and pain relieved) customer. This is a small business and I feel great supporting them. Their prices are competitive but don't go in thinking you'll be getting a Target or Walmart deal. These people care about the customers and want to ensure the are getting what's best for them. Douglas was super helpful and professional in helping me look at shoes / insoles in efforts towards mitigating some back problems I'm experiencing. I waited two weeks to write the review so that I could give a proper recap of my experience with my new insoles. I love them! Douglas discovered that basically my arch wasn't being supported in my current Ecco work shoes. He found a pair of insoles that provide support in that area, fit my shoe well, and make me feel better when I'm walking around. The insoles were not cheap so for now I need to swap them in and out of different shoes, but well worth the money. Can't put a price on my health and I feel like I made a good investment in myself by coming to Shoes That fit. My only regret is waiting 2 years to come do this, as I kept driving by the shop time and time again before taking action on my foot problem. read more

I came in because I needed some ortho friendly extra depth shoes for multiple painful foot problems. Victoria and Douglas were so helpful and attentive. It's really important with foot problems to have really good shoes. Good quality shoes come at a price of course, I was not surprised and my 2 pairs of shoes cost what I expected. There are additional customer services they offer to check and adjust shoes after wearing for awhile and adjusting custom inserts to fit the shoes if needed. I'm a bit older so I come from an era when all shoe stores came with this excellent customer service and fitting the shoe to your foot. I am super happy with the shoes, the store, the selection and the service. It's refreshing to walk out of a store 200% satisfied. If you are looking for quality shoes, I definitely recommend. I bought a lovely pair of tennis shoes here. At 5 months from purchase my heels were getting cut into due to the plastic stabilizer rupturing the fabric. This store fitted me and charged me over $300 for the shoe and foot insert. The store said the shoe falling apart is 'wear and tear'. You will not get a replacement from thiseven though the manufacturer will replace the shoe without cost to the store as it is a flaw. Beware Update. The 'shoes that fit elk Grove' offered to sell me a replacement pair of $300.00 tennis shoes for $150.00. The original shoe lasted only five months before they fell apart leaving the plastic internal supports exposed, thus cutting my foot. The company concurs with the manager of 'Shoes That Fit Elk Grove', that their shoes only last five months. That wearing the tennis shoes as your primary shoe is considered 'over use'. Beware. I 've been in the shoe before because I know they sell Vionic brand shoes that I know is a nice brand. My Podiatrist recommended orthopedic Inserts and a pair of New balance shoes I checked the price of the shoes that the sales Ladies offered and yes deftly out of my price range. I explained to the Very professional caring sincere sells lady that I don't feel I can afford them. She then asked me to come back sometime and she would take the time and help me and show me the difference that Orthopedic inserts and good shoes would make grant it. I walked in there hobbling. She said ,that it isn't so much about selling something it hurts her to see some one in so much pain.I went home and thought about what the sales lady told me and returned Sunday to the store to Purchase A pair of inserts and a good pair of shoes as I walked in I told the salesman that I was here yesterday before I could even explain or finish what I what I needed he said to me "what do you need we close in 8 minutes". I was passing by the store Shoes That Fit located in the south east quadrant of Elk Grove and stopped to take a look. I didn't think I would be able to afford a store like this but having been suffering with agonizing heel pain due to plantar fasciitis and a very painful heel spur I was becoming desperate. Several months ago I had seen a podiatrist at my medical group and was told to try the usual treatments before considering surgery; anti-inflammatory pills, ice, specific exercises, lots of rest, cortisone and good shoes. I tried everything with little or no relief. The day I walked into Shoes That Fit I was greeted by Marcos and Dr Lisa. Very nice people. They chose a shoe that was right for my condition, I tried it on and loved the way it looked. It was VERY COMFORTABLE and the price was very reasonable! They also suggested a heel spur specific, therapeutic sandal for wearing at home instead of going barefoot. So I purchased them both. Now here is the crazy part: after a long afternoon in the shoes and an evening at home in the sandals I awoke the next day with ZERO FOOT PAIN!!!!! I could not believe it. I have been to this store quite a few times, as both myself and my daughter are plagued with plantar fasciitis, which requires the kind of arch support not found in regular shoes. I can't imagine what was going on the day the previous reviewer visited the shop, but encourage them to try it again- I have never had anything but great experiences here! They remember us, even if it has been many months since we have visited- and they are all so helpful. Especially Steve- Steve is our guy, and always gives great advice and help. (If you are not sure you've got Steve, wait for the giggle- then you will know it is him!) It was recommended by our doctor that my daughter have custom orthotics made, which are way beyond what we can afford- and despite the fact that they do in fact make them here, we were told that they rarely make them for children, as their feet are always changing. They recommended a pre-made orthotic instead, the Cadence insoles, and they used their imaging equipment on her feet before and during wear, to make sure they supported her feet just right. They saved me hundreds of dollars, never trying to sell me the ones that the doctor had just recommended- and my daughter is doing great in her new supports. (They also have a 14 day return policy- no questions asked- which I have used once before. This is invaluable with expensive items that are meant to be healing to the feet!) The selection of shoes is great, way more than the Good Feet store. Some prices are quite high, but comparable to what they would go for online. They also have sales and promotions here, and they sell a huge line of Telic/Terox rubber sandals, which are the most amazing shoe, especially for around the house on those hardwood floors- soft and bouncy, but incredible support- and affordable! My daughter and I love them. Truly, we have received more help and advice here than from our podiatrist, who looked my daughter in the face and said, "You are always going to have this problem, it is going to hurt, and really, there is nothing I can do for you." She is a young teenager and those words were devastating- I took her straight over to Shoes That Fit, and they made her feel so much better, both emotionally- and her feet, which are improving every day.
