This's the first time I wrote a review on Costco because Costco has been my go to store for decades. It's because of these three items. CHICKEN + BEEF FAJITA KIT - The only precooked food I ever purchased before were rotisserie chicken and shrimps cocktail. But now, chicken and beef fajitas kit will definitely be in my carts. Everything in the kit is delicious. The beef is very tender. The chicken is moist. The sauces are delicious. But the best part is the tortillas!! It is pillowy soft, like the bao for Peking ducks. I'm not the only one in my family who could eat the tortillas by itself and be happy and satisfied. Yeah, it's that good!! RAPID-OFF FIRE BLANKET - WOW! What a good ideas for home safety. It comes with two blankets for only $12.99. It seems like it's good for smothering small fires like kitchen or bbq fires. Cuisinart. 4-in-1 XL Expandable Prep & Serve Tub - We loved bbq so this item seems perfect for the occasion. It's convenient from cutting the meats/veggies, marinating the meats/veggies and putting them in the fridge until it's ready to bringing them to the grill. read more

It's not their fault that the community flocks towards them every Saturday and Sunday! But what a great experience they offer! Well stocked shelves, plenty of cashiers, and samples (if you're willing to wait in line for a papusa sample, which I wasn't!). Honestly, the fact that they had so many employees helping on the floor made the lines much shorter. We only waited behind one other customer. Pro tip: instead of heading to the one main aisle checkout line, go around the left behind the garden items to get in one of their regular lines not blocked by the main crowd! read more

Ordered custom cake online. It was super easy. You can specify colors. I added instructions for roses on opposite corners instead of the standard. They did a great job on the cake. The only hiccup was that my husband picked up the cake then paid for it. Unfortunately, when you order cake/cookie combo, they do not hand you a platter of cookies. You have to grab your own platter? Oh well, we did without the extra cookies. It was fine. read more

It's been a long time since my last review of my go to Costco!! They sell just about everything under the sun! If it's not in the store, you can go online. They even have the option on their log in site where you can order directly to save a little money. They sell groceries, snacks, different drink options, household appliances, computers, jewelry, sports stuff, outdoor home stuff, liquor, toys, books, clothing, gift cards, to whatever new items that they add. The return policy is FANTASTIC! We've only returned a couple of items, but I see people abusing the return policies. For example, I saw a Christmas tree being returned after Christmas and the tree didn't fit back into the box! The executive credit card membership gets you in the door at 9 am while the regular card holders come in at 10. That's huge for me, because I like to shop quickly and be out before the crowds! I also like ordering things and having it shipped to family and friends. It saves me time during the holidays. Costco also has things on sale. For example, I stock up on my coffee when on sale! Their food court is FANTASTIC! The pizza is huge! It's great for a party and cheap! Overall, it is still my go to place to shop. Employees are friendly and helpful. Parking lot is huge, but still a bear to park at peak hours. Always clean bathrooms. They even have those storage lockers to pick up your prescriptions during warehouse hours. read more

Despite the size of one of our newer Costco warehouses in the region, I'm always able to get in and out in record time. I saw an item in the Costco Fans Facebook group that I couldn't find in my two closest warehouses. One of them shared the item was at the Elk Grove location. The staff was friendly, we picked up three since I wasn't sure if the other warehouses would stock in the future. read more

Just like all the other Costco locations, this location gets busy on a regular basis. I feel the workers here are usually nicer than the workers at the South Sac location. Selections are plenty but sometimes slightly different than other locations. Self check out is in the middle. They took away the scanning guns which I thought is weird. Will be hard to scan big or heavy items without it. Plenty of parking but can be difficult to find a spot on the weekends. read more

Nothing like coming after Thanksgiving. SO many sales here. We got the high end turkey at 30 bucks off. It was amazing and so yummy. It wasn't too busy here either. We even returned some stuff and only had 2 people in front of us. Returns are always a breeze here. Clothes were on sale to so good time to shop for those Christmas gifts. The produce is usually pretty fresh here. We got some grapes and some veggies. Check out was quick to. Another fabulous shopping experience at Costco. read more

We come to this Costco pretty frequently as we have other activities in the area so it just makes it convenient to stop by here for groceries and other necessities, and sometimes some fun extras. The other day, my child needed new glasses so we came and spent a LONG time for my big kid to pick out what they liked, and it's nice they have the buy one pair get second $50 off sale permanently now. It used to be sometimes $30 and other times $40 off the second pair, and only occasionally was it $50 off. My wife and child got a lot of help from Sean at the Optical Dept and he was patient and very helpful. He even suggested for my big kid to pick out a bigger pair of glasses instead of one of the selected ones bc he anticipated that this pair would not last long as my child continues to grow. That was very helpful and we appreciated the foresight provided. The process to buy the 2 pairs of glasses was pretty straightforward and quick too, as Sean rung up the sale and provided the copies of the orders and the receipt with the $50 discount. All in all, very smooth and easy even when we took a long time in the frames selection, and also my wife brought almost every single pair of her glasses for minor cleaning for some of them and replacing the nose pads on several others and Sean was patient and kind to replace those for her. We appreciated his good customer service. We also walked around and tried a few samples even though today we only needed to find new glasses and didn't buy anything else. read more

This review is specifically for the food court. I tried calling the South Sacramento food court to place a pizza order several times yesterday and this morning and the call won't go through, yet when I called Elk Grove Costco I was able to place my order for noon. When I arrived at noon the pizza was ready to go. This was the quickest service I received for getting pizza, the quality of pizza and the customer service was great! I would overall recommend this Costco for pizza orders. read more

Staff are always super friendly at this location. The lines move pretty quickly even when it's busy my and they always have all the registers open it seems which is nice. They have a self check out line which moves quickly and now are even pre-scanning your items in your cart for you so when you get to the register all you need to do is scan your member card and it populates what they scanned. This is a pretty cool feature! The parking lot gets busy but lets be honest what Costco parking lot doesn't. There are also so many other places like shops and restaurants to choose from when you pick this location you can't go wrong. It's just a busy scene so prepare yourself mentally for that.lol read more

After about 7-8 years of shopping here it's time for an updated review. This warehouse store is incredibly busy, along with an increase of population and traffic in Elk Grove. So it is much more busy than it was, and there is often a fight for parking spaces. The staffing has changed a lot and in checkout there are far less "pros." Costco is entitled- they think that they can treat you any which way, and run the store any way they want, and you'll be begging for whatever they put on offer. The crowds, the bulk buying, the reduction of quality, and often unpleasant interchanges with customer service (returns and cart counts have both been awful this past year) have left me looking for an alternative to Costco over the past year. The final straw was smelly chicken (ugh) and beef. I put my meat in a cooler with ice and bring it straight home. That's just disgusting. And bulk veggies that are already turning over... After trying several different stores, Safeway is the winner with mobile ordering. The key is to experiment with other stores and compare your budget; the reality is that Costco is not that great of a savings for a small family and the stress and angst it puts in your life is so disproportionate to the perceived benefits. If Costco is a religion, I've left the fold. It's astonishing to me that I can get better quality food, often on sale, with points accruing for gas and discounts, all within a four mile drive of where I live. I don't even have to shop for my own food, it gets placed in my trunk and all I have to do is put it away when I get home. And the gas? Nothing better than driving away from that zoo of angry people. The food court? I can buy a frozen pizza and not wait in line for fifteen minutes for Costco's indifferent fast food. Goodbye, Costco. Your horrible attitude and unpleasant shopping experience means we will be coming very quarter to buy...paper towels, toilet paper, batteries, vanilla extract, and a few other oddments. read more

I don't normally shop at this Costco but decided to make a quick run since we were in the area. Majority of Costcos are pretty packed and busy especially on the weekend. When I arrived, there was still plenty of parking but I would definitely describe the parking lot as busy. This was on Saturday in the early evening so this might be "prime" time. I was hoping the store would be emptier but it definitely felt busy. However, this is NOT as busy as the South Sac Costco. That Costco is crazy busy and crowded. This one was busy but not as hectic - definitely not empty. There are Costcos out there that feel empty and it is a better shopping experience. We were able to find what we need pretty easily and it wasn't bad navigating the crowds. Overall, this was a decent experience. read more

Genuinely the best Costco in the area. This is our go-to Costco, even though there's another that's a little closer to us. The Elk Grove Costco is always clean, well-organized, and always evaluating and improving their systems. They recently redid their food court, repaved the entire parking lot, updated how members scan their cards when entering, and always have tons of team members overseeing and managing the lines so it doesn't get crazy. The aisles are neat, items are well stocked, and staff are friendly. Yes, it gets super busy around any holiday and yes, the parking lot can get wild, but what Costco doesn't? It's weird to feel this passionate about a Costco, but it isn't until you visit a chaotic, messy, disorganized location that you can truly appreciate how well-run the Elk Grove Costco is. read more

This store was an absolute disaster. The managers working here were terrible and handled the situation in a completely unprofessional way. One time I entered just three minutes before my membership officially started, and instead of handling it calmly, they literally started chasing after me around the store trying to force me out. It was humiliating, stressful, and completely unnecessary. I felt absolutely awful because of how they treated me. I have been a member of this business for three years, and this experience was a complete catastrophe. Unfortunately, this is not the first time the managers here have acted strangely and unprofessionally. There have been multiple situations where they created unnecessary drama and treated customers poorly for no clear reason. I honestly do not understand why they keep behaving this way toward people. I am asking Costco to please investigate this situation as soon as possible because this kind of treatment toward loyal members is unacceptable. read more

My local Costco l've been frequenting since its opening night in 2018. Since this Elk Grove location opened, it has driven some of the traffic that typically went to the Stockton Blvd location to this one. Like all other Costco locations, it has bulk items, typically at a much more budget friendly price than you'd find the same item at anywhere else. Electronics, food/drinks, a food court, clothes, toys, an area for optometry, a pharmacy, tire center, and I'm sure I'm missing something on this list, but you get the idea. Costco has everything. Their eyewear department is fantastic. A good selection of eyewear for women's sunglasses and everyday wear. A limited selection of designer brand frames but many handsome frames that are contemporary, fashionable and very reasonable. The fitting specialist did an excellent job on my lenses by placing the progressive bifocals in the proper place and fitting my glasses to my face properly. They accept VSP insurance and provide $50 off a second pair of lenses so I bought some Kate Spade prescription polarized sunglasses. I paid less for 2 glasses than I normally pay for a single pair. Good employees at this store, clean isles and superb managers running around looking at items and lanes. Micromanaging done right, with reasonable mind set behind the directions to the employees. With that being said, read further for some bargain saving tips on stocking up. As most things at Costo are in bulk, which is for this kind of shopping. Note. Managers finally managed to boot bad employees and retain good ones at this store. Mind you some are still bad, but eh? Just to say it, Costco stores change upon the community and shopping culture based on the community. With that being said, whoever does this district. Thank you, man. And I do care that you tell your coworkers that I care about this. You know who you are Mang. I am guilty of hoarding and over stocking on items that are on sale. That being said most of these items are not to be told to others, as you want to make sure you keep the stock available to actually purchase these items yourself. With that being said, I am going to share some of these secrets. Mainly due to the fact that Costco seems to want to carry these items, yet they are not catching on. The Nokia Berry on sale last a long time on shelves (A year and a half). If you like smoothies or want something for your kids or toddlers as a snack, then you can easily hoard and get these on sale to stock up. Easy prep lunch box item. About a buck each on sale, that is at a healthy cost of a soda. Next is the Ha Gow on sale. 11 bucks for 40 pieces of Ha Gow is insane. That is the price of toast with fixings if you consider the protein. People do try it out, but it's not popular... yet. I am assuming due to the fact that old fashioned culture has not caught up on modern frozen foods. Most people believe frozen premade is bad. These are not bad. Note. I have tried a lot, and there are a lot of bad ones out there. The Ha Gow steamed for 25 minutes, in a proper steaming device is very akin to restaurant style taste. Considering most dim sum places its 4 for 5 bucks this is insane doing it at home for a buck for 4 almost. Note. You can steam bacon, then put them on a pan to crisp. Note. Chili oil crisp is a must for dim sum steamed items. Lee Kum Kee brand. (Not sold at Costo). Note I really want curry spices in the spice section. With that being said, get a proper stainless-steel steamer (or large stock pot) with a steam plate and stack stainless steel steam trays and separate and stack them so you can steam a plethora of items. 12 inches is best for the inside of the steamer width, as most dishes are usually 10 inches. The extra space is for said utensil to grab the trays out of the pot and your sanity of placing items in said pot. A spaghetti cooker works well if you can find the size. Just lift the tray out of the pot and wham. Even a wok and lid work with a steamer tray. Now you may be wondering why I am notating this... It is because I want Costco to sell the frozen Daikon dim sum cakes. This and the Hagow steamed on top of the Daikon cake is a secret lazy person breakfast combo. Literally put on plate and steam in an acceptable pot / steamer and or whatever works for you. Back to the point. Specifically, the scallop daikon cakes and the taro scallop cakes. Culture stops people from buying these items. As I can already hear my mom say that you can make it at home. But they are so cheap and effectively efficient enough to beat the hours spent in making these items at home. If you have ever made 200 Ha Gow, just to be frozen for future use, you would know what I mean. Note. Steamed Daikon or Taro dim sum cake over fried rice is insanely good. Note. Premade Costco sushi over rice with shredded Costco brand seaweed is insanely good. Slice avocados as a bonus. Cheap fast Donburi bowl. Note. I would like to see the B 10 LED light bulbs. As replacing my old light bulbs has saved me about 30 bucks a month. I need these though as they are my chandelier and outdoor light bulbs. Note. Other misc items to hoard when on sale. Soap, paper towels, frozen foods, meat... Note... tell Moar people so I can get my frozen vegetable cakes... be that bro and or bra... read more

The employees are consistently friendly and genuinely love their jobs (because theyre taken care of by their employers). This location and parking lot is HUGE. Despite that, there's a lot going on with how crowded it gets, so choose wisely on what day and time you go! Lol. They were scanning individual cards today at the entrance whereas the south sac one on east Stockton blvd has not started that yet so that was a new experience for me. Where do I start? The people who work here and I am not just talking about one rouge employee I am talking about the entire store is so incredibly rude. From the woman who doesn't greet you at the door to the person you make the mistake of asking where to find something. Then the membership dude who high pressured me to upgrade for fifteen minutes straight. No, I didn't upgrade but I got so tired of saying "no thank you" that I almost canceled my membership. And not only that the guy leaned into me and said, "You know with your type of membership you aren't even supposed to be in here you could get into trouble." I informed him that there was a grace period until Aug 31st. and that I had every right to be in there. If I wasn't they would have stopped me at the door. I mean really! Then the guy shocked replied, "Oh how do you know about that!?" I almost ended my membership that day. I have just had it with the EG Costco. Recently I got a Sam's Club for $20 with a senior citizens discount. My biggest complaint is the self-check at Costco that old man barks all the time. Today I snapped back "I'm moving as fast as I can!" I had crossing traffic in front of me. I am just so sick of the rude employees. With taking in Billions in profits and the bakery shrinkflation I am seriously thinking on cancelling my membership. I've just had it with the EG location. Go to Lodi or Folsom and they are so nice. Lazy employees. I got passed around by 4 different employees cause they were too lazy to see if they had any dog beds available. First was the floor girl she said I could go to register and they could see if we had any because none were on the floor. Then I asked the register guy. He was more interested in arguing with me if it was a dog pillow vs a dog bed. Idiot. Then he brings the red headed manager over barely had given me the time of day said something and walked away. Then I go to customer service and the guy said we have 5 on hand. I said well they're not on the floor can you go get me one? He said normally if it says they are on hand they are damaged. I said you can't check? He said no. I spend about $3,000.00 a year at Costco. I guess it's time to downsize. I won't be going there unless needed. I have recently transferred all of my prescriptions from the inept Walgreens to the fabulous Costco pharmacy in Elk Grove, CA. I cannot say enough good things about Costco pharmacy! They are professional, but friendly. Great on expediting prescriptions too ( in my case). I've just gotten home from my very first prescription pick up at Costco pharmacy. They did such a great job, I had to write this review as soon as I got home, so y'all can know how good and effortless it can be when picking up prescriptions from Costco pharmacy. It's hard to hate Costco when there's just so much to choose from... If you want to get overstimulated, come on over to Costco! Despite the gigantic parking lot, there's always so much happening and it's easy to feel like you're in a simulation. When I flash my Costco membership card at the front, I'm suddenly in my own Disneyland. It's hard to just focus on the grocery list when there are yummy samples and appealing bulk-items all around you! I never come out of Costco with a partially filled cart, it's always filled with random stuff that my belly is excited to try. There will always be something new stocked up which is what makes me love coming to this store. Their prices are amazing for the bulk items. I buy my kombucha here since it's so much cheaper than trying to buy them individually in a store. The asian-products here are ‍ and I love all of them -- especially bibigo's frozen items wow wow wow!! Their gas is worth it as well since it's cheaper than most outside gas stations. Use your membership to the fullest! Food court items are great as well. Everything is bigger in portions and worth your buck. read more
