This Nordy Rack is located at the Desert Marketplace. The store looked a bit different from my last visit. It had all types of art kits for sale. They'd make great stocking stuffers for the crafty ones. They were priced modestly. I hit my favorites, purses and shoes section. I looked at some Apple Watch bands but decided I had enough of them. Good store, not great clothes selection like others I've been too. It had lots of dry bar products so I was super happy to pick up all that. I saw some pretty jewelry and a few Victor Rolf gift sets. I remember when the Rack was a great place to shop for dress slacks, shirts and jackets. Now it's become another TJ Maxx. Even worse is the customer service. A way around the in store merch mess is to order online and pick up at the store. So I either ship to the house or pick up here. On a recent order I ordered a black Tumi case. When I went to pick it up and waited in the SINGLE line for pick ups and in store purchases: took 10 min to get to a register. My black case ended up being a RED case. I pointed this out to the cashier. I showed the order confirmation and she just shrugged her shoulders. I asked for what I ordered and after another 10 min of them searching the store, they came with "we only have the red". So I wasted my time driving to the store, waiting in line; only for them to have the incorrect item. DO BETTER! read more

DO NOT SHOP AT THIS LOCATION!!!! I visited Nordstrom Rack today and was in the store for no more than five minutes because I felt extremely uncomfortable. From the moment we walked in, a loss prevention officer stayed within 10 feet of us the entire time--following us from the entrance to the shoe department, then to the clothing department, and all the way to the registers. It was clear that we were being singled out while other shoppers were not, which made me feel racially profiled. When we reached the registers, I hoped for a smoother experience, but the cashiers were rude, dismissive, and displayed little customer service. It felt as though they didn't even want to be there. I have been a loyal Nordstrom customer for nearly a decade, and I've always appreciated their high standards of service, but this location was very disappointing. This repeated mistreatment is unacceptable. I will not be returning to this store, and I will make sure to share my experience with everyone I know so that they are aware of the poor treatment and avoid this location. Nordstrom Rack has changed their return policy to 30 days. On the Nordstrom Rack receipt it doesn't say that anywhere. Christopher the Manager was polite as he wouldn't make an exception for me as it has been 4 months since I had made the purchase. Christopher continued to say the policy is in the app and website. Who goes there to seek out the policy. It should be on the receipt once again. Needless to say. Nordstrom's policy has declined in customer first mentality. Christopher could have made an exception for a long time customer of Nordstrom that wasn't aware. Very disappointed in this Nordstrom's customer service. read more

Best part of this experience was the selection of high end sunglasses. On a trip from Chicago I literally left my sunglasses at home. Good news is I enjoy finding new glasses while on vacation. I was able to try on several glasses and purchased both a pair of Ray Bans and Ferragamo glasses for less than $200. The worst part of this experience is that I'm pretty sure I was racially profiled. No one at any point offered to help me but I was all of a sudden surrounded by staff stocking near my location. It was obvious that the one male employee found himself near the entrance/exit every time I walked past the sliding doors, not because I wanted to steal anything but because that's literally where they stationed the sunglasses. I recognize that not many people vacation or live in Scottsdale that look like me but they should really do some implicit bias training. Wish I could return but I have what I need and no longer see a need to expose my body or my energy to such prejudice. They really do have a great selection of sunglasses so this is very sad! read more

I don't usually shop at Nordstrom Rack but I brought my daughter here to shop for a prom dress and shoes. Almost everything here has been worn, is dirty, and was returned. They don't even try to clean anything or hide the dirt. They just stick it back on the rack... maybe that's why they call it the "Rack"? Dresses all smelled like BO and/ or perfume and smoke, and the shoes were all filthy on the bottom. The prices weren't even that good to justify this. The store and products felt filthy. I am beyond frustrated with Nordstrom Rack's misleading and unreasonable return policy. They claim you can return items within 30 days, but what they don't tell you is how impossible it is to actually meet their expectations. I recently tried to return an item that didn't fit after wearing it for an hour or two to test it out. The tag had been removed before I even tried it on (as most people do before actually wearing something), and because of this, they refused my return. How else am I supposed to figure out if something works for me? It's like trying on a pair of shoes--you don't really know if they fit until you wear them for a while. And yes, if there's dirt on the bottom of the shoe, I understand not reselling it at full price, but couldn't it go on clearance instead of being denied completely? The item was still in excellent condition, and I returned it within the 30-day window, yet Nordstrom Rack acted as if I'd done something wrong by simply testing it out. Maybe this is a racial issue, because I'm a black women! What's even more frustrating is that it seems like Nordstrom Rack has no problem accepting way worse condition returns. A quick glance at Yelp reviews shows people returning dirty, worn-out shoes, and those seem to get accepted without issue. If you can take shoes in terrible condition, why not accept a dress that's still in great condition, with nothing but a hint of perfume? You could easily put it on the clearance rack instead of pretending it's unsellable This policy feels designed to trap customers and avoid honoring returns, and it makes no sense for a company that claims to prioritize customer satisfaction. I'm disappointed and questioning whether it's worth shopping here anymore. Nordstrom Rack, you need to rethink your policies--because this one just isn't fair or customer-friendly. read more

I really wanted to love this new location and maybe opening day isn't a fair chance, but frankly, I was disappointed. The store feels cramped (maybe too much merchandise for the grand opening?) and there were a lot of different areas with different types of apparel (i.e., jackets) but there didn't seem to be a huge selection. It didn't have the Rack "feel" that I'm used to. The store was crowded and just felt chaotic. The Rack has been a long-time favorite so my plan is to wait until the newness wears off and things get settled. Then I'll try again. read more

The Scottsdale location is much bigger, and I understand they are working with limited space at desert ridge. This store is going to fail if it doesn't get its act together at the register. There hasn't been a time I have tried to check out that there hasn't been a line to the middle of the store. Clean and fresh brand new store but way too crowded to even find anything. They definitely needed a bigger space but hope it goes fine as the cash register is a nightmare and can only imagine the chaos during the holidays.
