Ross Dress for less is located in the Desert Ridge Marketplace. Today they had quite a few athletic shoes to choose from. I guess I still am liking athletic shoes but don't need any! I just got a new pair that has yet to be worn. I rotate my shoes used for workouts depending on the class. If I do find a good deal and the fit is good, I will buy them and put them in my holding bin until I am ready to wear it. No matter which Ross you go to the selections are always hit and miss. This location is no different. The one good thing I can say about it is that the checkout line on the weekends seems to move faster than the nearby stores in the mall. This weekend's expedition was great. I found a couple of clearance summer blouses and a pair of shorts with a zippered pocket (!) but nothing I was looking for in the cookware area. As usual, the shoe department was a mess. Clearly, they do not have enough staff to keep up with the inconsiderate shoppers who leave things all over. My cashier was personable and the stop today was worthwhile. read more

Let's be real here. Ross sucks! It's always a hot mess, the security guards greet you at the door (so stupid) and there's always a damn line with a screaming kid. Reminds me of that scene with Romy and Michelle when they're trying to get a job and she applies for some outlet store. It sucks but we are there for the prices and typically something specific that we are looking for, like a pair of socks or pillowcases. I walked in here because I was in dire need of a sweater. I was freezing in my office so I ran in during lunch and to my surprise I found 3 sweaters! Socks and a pair of boots!! Yes sis! I was like, I am fkn winning right now!!! I never have this luck in a ross and to be quite honest, I've actually stayed away from them because they started eating at my soul every time I went buuuuut this Ross is actually manageable!!! I will admit that I might return here again! Although, I did find a Marshall's here today .... but if I can't find whatever it is I'm looking for at Marshall's I will definitely make my way over here. read more

It's a Ross, things are never fully organized and stuff all over. Small where large are 10 shoes where 13 size are pans where throw pillows are. Have to say though they do a decent job after the havoc that some customers leave behind. I believe all Ross are like this. Never have I been to a Ross that is flawless and kept organized only for the first few hours of the day. This one I'm particular does a good job. They always have a wide selection of goods buys ( if you go at the right time). I give this place a great rating good customer service. I had an employee search the store with me for items I was looking for another helping my wife an I pick scents of candles we were buying. I even found a nice Michael Kors belt. Great find by the way for 16 bucks. Super happy. Almost don't want to post how great this Ross is to keep it for myself...lol read more

Bought some pants last night, a pair of shorts, sweatpants, and jeans. the shorts didnt have a tag on them so the clerk took the most expensive piece of clothing, the jeans, and scanned it twice, looked at me, mumbled something and pointed at the price of the jeans and then put the shorts without a tag in a bag. I said wait no, that has a price tag, he said he didn't see one, so l grabbed the same shorts in a different size that had the price tag and handed it to him, he continued to scan the sweat pants and then pointed at the price tag (which was a dollar difference between the shorts and the sweats) and scanned that saying "same price yknow" and put that in the bag. idk why he didnt just scan that one first instead of the most expensive one that was double the price of the shorts. that clerk has definitely gotten away with that before. he was about 6 foot, heavier, with long curly dark brown or black hair, and he had the oakley style sunglasses on. at night. in the store. he made me and my friend really uncomfortable. he didnt have a name tag on, or a company shirt on, and really gave off a sketchy feeling. maybe the managers can get him to take off the sunglasses so we dont feel like hes creeping? read more

I went near closing time to quickly grab a few things and had the worst experience I've had at a Ross. I was browsing at the perfumes when one of the workers came to tell us they were closing in 5 min but in a very rude manner. I tried to ignore that but as I started walking towards the register I noticed another worker was following me making me feel so uncomfortable almost harassed by them. When I stopped walking and looked at her she just said we needed to go to the register now also in a very rude manner. When I got to the register the cashier was waiting and mean mugging us. Like the others she was very rude! Some people should not work customer service! I don't think I'm returning to this location it was the worst experience and not worth it! read more

Very bad experience in this location, one of cashiers charged me on 5 item and he put 4 item in my bag and forgot to put another so when I got home I checked everywhere in my car and my bags but I can't find so I came back to store to talk to manager, she was checking camera for me and Said saw I got 5 item in the bag but I try to tell her I did not receive another item..... This Ross Store at Desert Ridge: The selections were ok. However, the cashier provided mediocre customer service at best. She didn't bother taking the couple of seconds needed at the most to fold my items before bagging them. She also proceeded to set them aside for me to fold once she saw me take the first item out of the bag to fold it. Some advice, train your employees on real customer service, or you will suffer the business downfall as other defunct retail stores. read more

The woman that's been at the register the couple times i have went is really rude. Not a whole lot to shop for and a lot of it is scratched up or damaged and they won't discount it much more if you ask. I know that's usually why they sell stuff there is because of small damage or out of season clothing/items, but I prefer to spend my money elsewhere for better quality. Most Ross stores don't have a good selection of shoes in my size, but for some reason this one does. These stores are funny like that. This place is beat. It's the size of a normal Ross, but has way less than half of the stock of a normal Ross. It just looks picked over and sad. I dont understand what's going on here... I had a few minutes to stop and find my dog a new doggy bed. On my way home from work, I ran into my favorite Ross Store to see what I might find. Within 5 seconds of walking into the door, I was welcomed by a staff member. I focused on home goods and browsed through their decorative section and furniture. I passed the aisle with white dishes and had to look (I'm addicted to white dishes, plates & serving pieces). The pet aisle had costumes, treats, toys, feeding bowls and many beds to pick from. I debated a quick minute and found Duffy's new bed. I went to stand in line and passed through a organized section which allowed me to look at lots of candy and treats. I know one often thinks of Ross to purchase clothes, shoes and accessories. However, the houseware and decorations are reasonably priced with a broad selection. I've been to dozens of Ross Stores throughout California and Arizona and THIS store is the most orderly one I've ever shopped at. If you're a guy, don't even bother walking through the doors. It feels like the men's department is just set up as a courtesy. The reviewer who says the women's to men's ratio is 4:1 is being pretty generous. Ladies; if you have the patience to sift through several aisles of unorganized stuff, you may find a good deal on something fashionable. But if you succeed on your quest to actually find what you're looking for, you'll also need to have the patience to sit in an unnecessarily long check out line. There are other discounter clothing stores in Desert Ridge. I can only recommend Ross as a desperate last resort. read more

I usually always buy something at Ross. Today was no exception! I normally visit the Paradise Valley or North Scottsdale one but we were in this area. I needed winter gear and I found so much. Got 4 leggings, a workout top and bra, sweatshirt, fleece jacket, gloves, boots and 3 bags of Ghirardelli holiday chocolate. All for $145! Love this place. Women's items out number Men's 4 to 1. This Ross store is clean and is typical of discount retail clothes. This seems clean and organized. I'm not sure if it is because it is a Friday Morning post Christmas retail madness, but seems decent. Women's clothes out number Men's selection about 4 to 1, but women should be happy finding their bargain. I love this place! I can always find a full outfit here (often designer) right down to the shoes and handbag in one day and pretty quickly too. And the prices are so cheap. I spent $300.00 and came home with a full Spring wardrobe. If I did that anywhere else, I would be lucky to get just one outfit! And would have spent a week trying to find it all. This place is the best and beats walking around the Mall for the entire day bouncing from store to store to try to put an outfit together. It is clean and organized well and their home goods section is a pretty decent size. I have never gotten anything poorly made either. So far so good. I love Ross! What the heck happened to Ross Store at Desert Ridge Mall? I could not believe my eyes. 1. The floor was covered with papers, candy wrappers, soda cans and dirt. 2. Handicap bathroom stall was so disgusting, I litterly vomited. When I ask to see the manager on duty as the sign located in the bathroom instructed, employee told me " Manager was in a meeting and could not be disturbed. But that she would tell someone else. Or at least that is what I think she said. She had a very heavy accent. 3. By this time I was so annoyed I just wanted to pay for my purchase and go home. Cashiers were having the own conversation and obviously no interest in helping me or cleaning up the store. I like shopping at Ross so I hope they fix the big problems with the store . read more
