Urban Outfitters - Men's Clothing Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Urban Outfitters is essentially a hipster version of Gap. The concept is a bit pretentious, but it also seems like just a retailer creating a concept that appeals to a specific audience, like Abercrombie & Fitch does. There are four locations in the area with the Downtown Seattle location in my opinion to be the best of them. Two floors of shopping, with the women's section on top and the men's and housewares on the lower level. Pricing is fairly moderate, though some items seem overpriced for the quality. They do carry a number of good brands like Levis here, but most I am not all that familiar with. They also seem to carry a decent selection of novelty shirts, though I do not know what makes these "urban". On occasion, the sales racks have some good deals. Though it feels like shopping at a thrift store since the section is sometimes a mess and the arrangement of the racks is random as opposed to Macy's file them by size method. I have to say that I do like Urban Outfitters. They do carry trendy, city-dweller apparel which helps to diversify my wardrobe. But it is one of those places that I only check out on occasion. I'm a fan of retro graphic tees and apparel that looks worn. Call me a flower child, but Urban Outfitters has the kind of vintage-y style that I dig. This particular location is fine though. This spacious store is located in downtown Seattle, with a basement level for women's accessories, men's, and sale. Sales associates are MIA on the floor. They're mostly at the cash registers, so when you need an associate at the fitting room downstairs - it takes a bit to find someone. Plus, you never know who is working here because they don't greet or talk to you. There's a photo booth here! If I'm with a friend in downtown Seattle and pass by this place, I'm more likely to stop here, just because if I don't find anything to buy - we can at least get a memento of us! Plus, the booth takes cards and you get FOUR copies of your pics! (Wish I had a locker.) Overall, this Urban Outfitters is fine. I do love the graphic tees and home decor here, so it has me comin' back for some goodies, especially when it's on sale for less than 10 bucks! F-yeah! I really enjoy having a downtown Urban Outfitters location so close to me. I've been in a few Urban Outfitters over the years all over the U.S. and I haven't really found much of a difference between them all, to be honest. It's a retail store, so... yea. But something that seems to be common amongst all stores is that you greeted at the door, but otherwise, no one is following you around, asking if you need help. In fact, you likely won't talk to a staff member again until you try on or check out. And that's A-OK with me, since I just like to look around. I know how to ask if I need help with something. I actually really like the selection they have for women at this location. Women's clothing takes up the first floor and about half of the downstairs. I don't come for the home stuff, but I do feel like they've upped their home selection game recently. I wish their dressing rooms were a little nicer. But I also know the unfinished look they're going for. And this location has a pretty sad shoe selection, if I'm being honest. read more

Bad customer service. I was here on vacation and packed very light knowing I could shop in the area. When I was ready to pay, I waited at the register area bc the cashier was busy doing something and not paying attention to customers. He finally turned around and said "What's up?!" I asked him if I could pay (he was making it seem like he would have to get someone) and with an attitude, he says "uh yea on THIS register" (the one to his left). My boyfriend and I both looked at each other with disgust and I almost asked for someone else to help me, but I decided if his attitude continued, then I would. Well, his attitude completely shifted and he tried to make small talk with me. I think bc his manager was right behind him. His manager wasn't very kind either. I had an issue with a discount code and it was like he could care less that they couldn't get it to work. read more

UO is a hit or miss for me sometimes. Last time I went I bought two dresses, that definitely was a HIT. I wanted to buy more but of course, my wallet could not afford all those $70 dollar sundresses. Big sigh. But this store is so cute because they have a variety of accessories and clothing items. Their sale rack is a bit of a mess but most are anyway. I usually don't bother going through them since I am lazy and they never have my sizes. It's stressful because we get UO's catalog in the mail... but we can never afford the stuff we want. This Urban Outfitters is quite large and you can spend some time exploring this store for sure. It is in the heart of the downtown shopping district so don't be surprised if there are lots of people shopping here. They have a lot of cute knick knacks here, like Domo stuffed animals, joke books, marijuana/beer lovers' items, monkey keychains, creative USB hubs, etc. If you are looking for a gag or cute gift you can come here and hopefully find something cool. Their clothing is hit or miss. Styles can be crazy or cute - this company caters to young adults (high school/college kids, mostly). I think most of the regular priced items are kind of expensive given their quality, so unless you need something in an emergency (or you are loaded and money is not an issue, etc.) I would actually go somewhere else for clothing. Now, the sale prices make the clothing much more affordable. But I do have issues with their quality of clothing (not the best), so I usually have to dig awhile before I find clothes that are the right price and right quality. read more

It's basically all of the clothes you've seen on the internet, in store. The catch? It's like $50 for a sock. Totally a great store. Out of the UOs I've been to across the country this one seems to be pretty large. I tend to frequent the one a few blocks from my house but when I'm downtown I always make it a point to stop in here. As always, some of the clothes are hit or miss but there are some items I've had in my closet for years. I love the cheap shoes, I love the funky home accessories and the winter sales and trinkets during the holiday season make for awesome gifts. Definitely an OK store... 2.5 Stars Urban Outfitters has the maddening tendency to take something cute and ruin it with something ridiculous. Sometimes the ridiculous feature is a weird back cutout in an otherwise normal sundress. Or a shirt that is wider than it is long. Many times the price is just plain out of whack -- $100 for a 100% polyester dress, for example. As I am too old and not hipster enough to be their target demographic it's no surprise I find most of the clothes a little ridiculous. I should be shopping next door at Anthropologie (same company, catered to the slightly older and more sophisticated woman) but those prices are even more jaw droppingingly, laughably absurd. Decent prices can be found if you are willing to fight through the sales racks (at either store). It's been a few years since I've purchased a piece of clothing at UO since I am usually turned off by the price, quality, or some weird design feature. They had the Star Wars Mighty Muggs dolls that the child was looking for. We picked up a terse looking Princess Leia to buy and roamed around the vacuum that is Urban Outfitters. Man, this stuff is cheaply made, yet not cheaply priced. I do have to admit that I found quite the cunning hat for my man, and the skull and crossbones ice tray was a must. But if I found these items elsewhere I would've bought them elsewhere. And though the young man (seriously, when did employing 12 years old become legal?) that rang us out was the most helpful employee I've ever encountered at this location (and the Cap Hill location), even the child knew that their apparal was trashy and shoddily made. Yes, Urban Outfitters is over-priced for mediocre quality, but that's why you shouldn't pay retail at this store. Make a bee line to the sale section (especially when there's an additional 50% off!) and you will find much more reasonable prices. I've noticed that not all the UO stores have the same sales and from my experience, this branch (and the Capitol HIll branch) have more sales items available. The big criticism I have is that on the weekend, the sale section is a mess. Think apparel apocalypse with sad little cardigans and ironic t-shirts curled underneathe the clothes rack wheels and stuffed in corners. This place is entirely overrated. Anybody who thinks the shit that Urban Outfitters call clothing is worth paying for is trying to hard to fit in and look like a hipster. Here is what I don't like about Urban Outfitters: 1. The quality is horrendous. If you put your hand inside of a t-shirt, you can see it through the flimsy fabric. 2. The majority of the employees are as useless as the infamous clerks in Abercrombie & Fitch. I asked somebody if they had a pair of jeans in another size, and they acted as if I was imposing on them. 3. The CEO of Urban Outfitters give shit loads of money to conservative right wing politicians. That 40$ 'bush is silly' t-shirt you bought there is ridiculous, because half the money is going to straight to corporate filth. 4. For what you get for your money, it really just isn't worth it. 5. Try going 20 minutes out of your way, or just slightly off the beaten path and you will find a small, locally owned boutique that is unique, giving to the community, and much better quality. The only nice things about Urban are: 1. Their selection of jeans is very nice and not as spendy as some places. Plus they, unlike the rest of the clothing in the store, last for quite some time. 2. I love Urban Outfitters, despite the fact that I only walk out buying something maybe one out of every eight times I walk into to check what's new in the store. I think their apartment stuff is pretty cool, but I tend not to buy any of it cus well..I hate it when someone walks into your place and immediately knows where you scored your decorations (then again I should stop shopping at Ikea too). You can always find a cool gag gift or two here as well. I love UO!! I mean hello they have so many random items, its a great place to spend sometime just looking around! They have great unique house hold items and other great gift ideas. I enjoy the jewelry and makeup section. I have noticed their clothes are either hit or miss. Sometimes being way to hipster to be functional or every day wear. Also seem a bit pricey for the quality. This downtown UO is probably my favorite UO in Seattle. This store is huge and has an awesome sale section. They've also got nifty gadgets, books, appliances, and accessories. There's 2.5 levels of awesomeness: The street level is mostly womens, accessories, and knick knacks. The intermediate level leading to the lower level has some men's shirts and random items. Downstairs there's men's, women's sale, men's shoes, women's shoes, and mod apartment flare. The books, knick knacks, sale, and housewares are definitely worth checking out. In my days at the dorm, UO was my #1 dorm-decor hotspot. UO carries a bunch of trendy and hipster decor and novelties that are pretty cool and unique. They've got cool shower curtains, toothbrush holders, kitchen appliances (cool ones, I might add), and other unpractical but neat products. In the sale racks, you're bound to find a bunch of "urban" and trendy shirts with suggestive prints and funny sayings. About three or four years ago, I shopped here almost exclusively. And why not? I had like . . . 100% disposable income! So I'd gallivant around here, spending money all willy-nilly with not one care in the world. Fast forward an appropriate amount of time to today, and I'm just confused. Not one stitch of clothing I've purchased here has lasted. Not that I've got unreasonable expectations, but when I'm spending $85 on a dress, shouldn't it last longer than forty two seconds? No. I guess not. I have ventured into Urban Outfitters a few times recently and just said "I... Um.... Hmmm... Nevermind". I am not completely daft where fashion comes in. I LOVE FASHION! It's trends I don't understand. Sequined underpants? Granny Glasses on a chain? Monacles? Shit... Steam punk is infiltrating everything. ANYWAY, whoever is in charge of their buying should be fired, or at least given some accurate information. Look at your sales rack. That crap isn't moving. Nobody wants a cable-knit sweater dress. NOBODY IS THAT COLD. The location is great, but the stock is just pretty consistently crappy. The quality sucks for the price. Christmas shopping for my significantly better half. Selection was poor, and there were more employees than actual customers walking around. One would think that would elicit some customer service since you're probably not paid to stand around and look like a hipster..but there was no customer service to be found. After inconveniencing someone into taking time out of their busy day of standing around and looking fabalos, it was finally determined they didn't have what I was looking for in the color in which I wanted. He did make a helpful recommendation as to where to find it, and for that this is a 2 star review. Perhaps 10 years ago in my early 20s I would have fit the demographic of this place. This is your standard Urban Outfitters. Nothing makes it stand out from any other I've been to, but I always do stop in whenever I'm shopping downtown. Each time I step foot, I always think the same things: - Cute clothes, but quality isn't great - I wish everything was $20 cheaper - Most of the apparel look cuter on the rack than on me I do enjoy looking through the clearance/on-sale items though. Normally I like Urban Outfitters, especially their home decor section. However, I now refuse to go to the Downtown Urban Outfitters because of shitty customer service. I asked a sales associate if they had a Chinese lantern in a certain color. She acted as if my request was an big imposition on her and because she didn't know she paged someone to come help me. When the paged sales associate arrived he went up to her and pointed at me as he asked "This one?". She nodded and he asked me "Did you look through all of them?" I said yes and he repeated the question three more times. Clearly in disbelief that I hadn't looked. I was flustered and felt uncomfortable. He was incredibly rude. His attitude was brusque and he ordered me to look at one stack after another as if I was an employee. When we couldn't find any he told me to look for it elsewhere. I did. I went to the Urban Outfitters on Broadway in Capitol Hill and the employees there were incredibly helpful and nice. I couldn't believe the difference in service. So yeah, when I travel I usually pop my head into Urban just to see if the different locations/stores have different varieties of threads. Well, the answer is no...but the sales items are sometimes not as picked through, which helps for a petite person. I do recommend, which I haven't mentioned in my other reviews, is that their online sales are good. Sometimes their items will be on sale online and not in the store. That's just a heads up. If I had lots of money I would buy all their boys tee's and wear them every day to work making some sort of sordid statement about my hard wood or that I love beavers or some stupid thing like that which would make my coworkers question my orientation even more then they already do. Their apartment diggings are pretty awesome; pictures, paintings, futons, couches, coffee tables and the like. I love their new reclaimed line of furniture which is pretty environmentally friendly, green and shabby chic all at once. Their giftwares are pretty cool odd books and mugs etc. Their clothes overall are pretty cool but I honestly can't afford to shop there... oh I am so tired of being broke. But their sales are well worth a gander. The clerks are pretty psychotic either way nice or way grumpy so it really depends on which one you get whether you will get served or not. read more

So we flew all the way to Seattle and went to (drum roll).... Urban Outfitters. Sadly we have no excuse, there's a UO just 5 min. away from our apartment in Oakland. But it was raining, it was conveniently only a couple blocks from our hotel, it was a familiar sight and ergh... we went in. And we purchased. Two sweaters for me, one hoodie, belt, & batman tee for BF. The sales associates were super friendly and they sold me my sweater for $9 (it was missing a tag and they couldn't find any others) so we were pretty satisfied Urbanites. There's a 50% off clearance going off right now and that was the only reason why I went and bought a few things. Just a dress for $5 a tank top for $2 and the headband that i've been looking for forever! for $5. I love how I could find everything nautical that I'm looking for here, but the prices suck. No one wants to pay $18 for a headband, so i waited for it to go n clearance, which it did. An anchor necklace was $16 here and only $12 at Silverworks, Silverworks FTW! The sizes are extremely confusing, I couldn't fit a size XS dress, it was too big! But the dresses are cute. There was a Peace 21 shirt, size small looked more like a size large. I left the headband that I was looking for there overnight so see it I still wanted it, I came back, it was gone! So off to the Broadway location I go. Over all, the clothing is cute, but pricey, I'd always wait for the sales. It's like a jungle downstairs in the clearance area. Better off trying the Broadway location. I've been in line for 10 minutes. It hasn't moved. The line is now over 25 people in line and they just opened a 2nd register. And as I mentioned this aloud a 3rd register finally opened after the line was now every single person in the store, no one was browsing. The line hadn't moved for those 10 minutes with just one register open. Seriously, we shouldn't have to wait that long for people to do their jobs or notice what's needed for the store. I've worked at hollister before etc. I know how clothing stores work. This wouldn't happen at a store where management cared about customer experience. At least tell us if you need a few minutes before putting someone else on. It's only polite and good manners. They did have the pink hat we wanted so 3 stars. Not the best of them but overall A-Ok! Oh urban outfitters. I remember years ago when I first walked in and found a place so in-tune with my urban hip hop hipster sensibilities that I felt like I was in love. From finding jeans that go perfect with my retro Nikes to a plethora of t-shirt/cardigan combos. I'll be a bit more extensive with this review since this is one of my favorite Urbn's for finding gear. I never get much help here but the staff is quick with a courteous "hello, how are you." It's a nice change of pace from the droves of high school students that work at the local "mall" Urbn near my home (Alderwood). Of all the Urban Outfitter's I've gone to, I seem to find the best stuff here. A few examples: The "New York City Eats It's Young" shirt from the HBO series "How To Make It In America" was found here, Levi's 511s for $19.99 a pair, and a recent shopping trip where I walked out with 3 cardis, two button ups, two tees, and a pair of jeans for under $80. Not the most attentive staff but the best selection of pieces from all Urbns I've been to. read more
