Even though this new location is an improvement from the previous store, the aisle is still too small and the store still feels overcrowded. They do have a great selection but I never walk around the store without accidentally hitting or running into others making my way around. I think it is odd how they sell flowers on the street level. Why isn't this how the rack is in Portland? Why oh why??? The selection here is amazing - they even have a flower vendor as you leave where you can grab a beautiful bouquet for $10! I never find clothing at the rack...shoes yes, makeup sometimes....accessories but mostly just shoes. Here I found a stack of clothing I had to have seriously...and it was all very well priced. They also have a fun section for the uber designer stuff for those size 0 and six foot women who look good in anything. Key word is designer so it also has designer prices but I got a great giggle out of some of the ridiculous clothing - some of it really is stunning though and made me wish I had $600 (clearance price) to blow on a sweater... Nordie Rack! WOWza you have a lot of stuff. Like really, a biiig location. However big you are, your prices are disappointing compared to other locations. No $4 crop tops here. I have yet to find a super deal here - even with the clearance. So, while I could be long winded and list all the stuff here, I will keep it short and sweet. The prices are a little higher than usual and don't be expecting some magical, amazing find price-wise. I like this location much better than the Nordstrom rack in downtown Portland. The shoe section was definitely cleaner and more organized. This store is a lot more busy though. You can find too faced single shadows for about $4.95 and urban decay 24/7 liner for around ten bucks (mostly in colorful shades though). I also found that the shoe selection was greater than the Portland location. I was on the lookout for some wedding shoes and found some cute potentials! read more

Sadly this is not remotely my favorite rack location. It is conveniently located downtown, but the space seems smaller than the other racks I have been to, and most importantly they don't have a plus size clothing section. As usual, if something has to be sacrificed, its always the plus-size section. I have gone to this location for shoes, makeup, and accessories, but alas if I want to shop for clothes I still have to go down to southcenter or the eastside. Some might argue that being in this rack is like being in a basement. I agree with that but I like the basement feel because it is consistent with the original Rack concept. Before they were big box stores located next to Bed, Bath and Beyond and Best Buy, Nordstrom Racks were located in the sub-terrainean level of a Nordstrom. The sale clothes made the trip to the cellar and budget conscious consumers sifted through the racks looking for a great deal. This Rack, like most, is a little messy but it is most certainly big. One of the things that Rack has gotten really good at it checkout. Instead of waiting in a long line at the front, they have roving checkout agents so you can pay on the spot and get out. Overall, I liked this rack and if I was in the mood to really shop and try things on, I think I would have spent a few hundred dollars. read more

This Nordstrom Rack is in the heart of downtown, very convenient especially if you don't drive and don't want to bother with finding hard-to-come-by parking spots. The selection is a bit small and is definitely more geared towards women's fashion/accessories, but there are some selection of home and men's accessories as well. It's a good idea to just stop by once in a while, as they usually have some brand name items at a very reasonable sale prices. I really don't like this location! For one it's in a basement with no light or reception. It reminds me of a high price Ross...Just a huge cluster F%#K! I only came in here because my girlfriend wanted to view the shoe department. To no surprise if mine, it had the worse selection of shoes! Left with absolutely nothing but a headache. You would think since this one is right next door to the best Nordstrom in WA , that it would have the best selection out of all the racks. For being next door to one of the most phenomenal Nordstrom stores that I've ever seen, Nordstrom Rack was a bit lacking. The store is a smaller size with minimal accessory and home departments. This location is also very dark and claustrophobic feeling with old style fixtures. Though I did find a cute pair of shoes (and maybe even some sneakers or boots if I had dared to fly home with bulkier items), my overall experience at this store was a bit meh. Nordstrom Rack offers Nordstrom's leftovers at slightly discounted prices (for those of you who didn't know already). This location was pretty big. The clothing section is just regular size but the shoe section was huge. There weren't any great premium shoes but tons of regular shoes. I mean racks on racks on racks. It looked like a DSW clearance section up in here :P I did find some premium designer clothes in the clearance section so you should definitely check out the clearance racks. Reading all the reviews for this store, I see people either love it or hate it. Well, I love it! I find this store to be ENORMOUS, and for those who say it's too small, I say, compared to what? An airport hangar? A Costco warehouse? Camp David? A small village??? This place is huge, and in a prime downtown location, smack dab between Nordie's to the south and connected to Westlake Center to the north. It is organized with ceiling-mounted signage, so you can see from a distance where the dresses are from the coats from the shoes, etc. I like how they have a ton of fitting rooms and all are roomy and clean, and you can bring in up to 15 items at a time. And they are staffed by super nice people like Shannon and Josh. The selection of clothing and shoes is fantastic. Prices are still high, mind you, but they are quite a bit less than those at the regular Nordie's store. And there are cute and trendy tops to be found for $16-$25 (which is on a par with prices at TJ Maxx). Yes, the shoe aisles are narrow and can get crowded if there are a lot of people in the store, but I personally would rather sacrifice space and still have the huge selection of shoes than have wider aisles and few shoe selections. The jewelry department was pretty small (unfortunately) but all other departments are well-stocked and represented. Love the make-up and skin care section, with excellent prices on high-end brands. The return policy is a generous 90 days from date of purchase. Even when there is a long line for the cash, it always seems to move quickly, and they are always well staffed at the cashiers. Side note: poor to nonexistent cell phone service here. This is important to know if you're like us with teen daughters and you all split up. They can't text you nor you, them. Yikes! I love a good deal anywhere I go. When it comes to clothing and makeup, I always hit up The Rack to see what I can find. It's hit or miss, but that's the fun of shopping at one of your favorite stores. Located in the heart of a tourist hotspot, this store gives you exactly what you'd expect the moment you walk in. The store can be chaotic at times with the amount of people in such a relatively small space. If you're here to window shop, it's not a bad spot to casually make your way through the racks and aisles. However, if you have an idea of what you're looking for--good luck! Since there are an overwhelming amount of merchandise, the store appears to be disorganized but when you think about it, everything is where it's supposed to be. Consider the clientele coming and going from this place, without much regard to returning something the way it was when they were looking at it, don't throw shade at the staff. I've spent enough time in at this location to vouch for the staff. They're trying their best to accommodate their customers. Come on, you would give attitude to someone being disrespectful to you too. Lighten up on the staff and you'll be pleasantly surprised of your experience here. read more

I don't normally review chain stores, but unless I caught this store on an especially good day where they just had restocked everything, this might be the best Nordstrom Rack I've been to. The Nordstrom Racks in LA and SF don't even compare! Although it probably helps that this Rack is literally across the street from the regular Nordstrom's. I walked out with just a few things, but I easily could have bought so much more. At first I was dismayed when i went to its usual location, thought it closed down! but after driving back to the core near Westlake Centre, see their famous logo w/ grey background on a banner, so much closer to their 'regular' store. Have to say it's more mayhem than before b/c now you've got the men and women all on the same floor, which could be a good thing, esp. if you need your other half's opinion and easier to find than going up and down the stairs at previous location. What's underrated here is the selection of the luggage---tons available! Tumi, Travelpro, Tommy Bahamas, and then the usual Kenneth Cole, Samsonite.... I was warned that this Nordstrom Rack location would be overwhelming...and it was. I was surprised that there wasn't more of a designer clothes, shoes and handbag section being that it's across the street from the flagship. Little disappointed about that. However, they did have a bunch of Top Shop items that I hadn't seen before. Sales were decent, but once again, was expecting a better selection of designer items and not so much bridge. I don't event try to shop it. If I go in I almost always leave with a new pair of shoes at what I feel is a reasonable/ good price. I never leave feeling like I got an insane deal but I am fairly certain most of my shoes have been purchased here since my move to Seattle. One time, when I was no where near an exit, while looking for a my friend, who was in the store also shopping, and was stopped by an employee and humiliated in front of everyone as he accused me of trying to steal. He asked, "are you going to pay for that before you keep heading that way??" Very taken aback, I stated what I was doing and asked what his reasoning for approaching me in that manner was for. I've worked in retail and better establishments than Nordstrom, let alone the rack, and know employees are advised not to approach customers unless working with their internal loss prevention. I asked to speak to the manager of the store, who at the time thought the appropriate way to handle the matter was laugh at my face and tell me that his employee did nothing wrong because he MIGHT have been asked by LP to do as he did. After being asked, the employee said he took it upon himself, and not at the suggestion of LP which leads me to believe this guys was racially profiling me. Disgusted by the behavior of both the employee and tack manager, i took his business card and reached out to the Nordstrom brothers to discuss what had happened. Unsuccessfully, I was never able to get through to them even while leaving multiple messages with who I would assume was their assistant. Nordstrom is a sad excuse of an establishment to allow that to happen. Worst customer service, ever. read more

I used to love this store! Really testing my patience now. HIRE SOME MORE CASHIERS!!! I almost exclusively do my clothes shopping at Nordstrom Rack. I've been to locations here in the PNW, Chicago, Hawaii, Boston. I love the brands, the prices, and (usually) the service. I had a great time browsing, trying on clothes, and then the corner... holy crap I've never seen a line so long. It's a Tuesday night in April. No express checkouts, only *2* registers open for what must be 40+ people in line. People were losing their minds - and leaving their stuff behind. I can't imagine how much revenue this place lost by just being short staffed. I'll likely continue to shop at other locations, but certainly not at the downtown Seattle location. read more

My wife bought me a beautiful Gevril watch as an engagement present over a year ago from Hautelook, a Nordstrom affiliate site, and I loved everything about this watch. The design, manual movement, and weight were all on point. However the second time I put the watch on, the links fell out and luckily I was standing over carpet so the watch did not break. We tried to get it fixed locally but no one had links to match/ fit. Since Gevril is a European brand the manufacturer warranty called for us to send it over seas and shipping was not covered. We decided to see if Nordstrom could either repair or refund us since the watch was fairly expensive. Nordstrom was also unable to repair the watch since the links were unique. They sent us to this Nordstrom Rack where we met Trinity. She had to make several phone calls and even after, Hautelook basically told her that since it was over a year they could not do anything for us. Trinity impressed us with her unwillingness to give up on helping us, and heroically upheld Nordstrom's core customer service values. She took down our contact info and continued to fight for us even after we left the store. I received a call about a week after to stop back in. When we came back Trinity was able to offer us a refund. It was very hard to part ways with such a gorgeous time piece but it felt good to not have a $800 broken watch sitting in a box at home. Thank you again so much Trinity, for going above and beyond to find a solution for us. Truly amazing service! read more

I was here on Tuesday the 24th of October, this was my first and last time shopping at this location. I came here with my friends after a really good day in the heart of Seattle! My day quickly got ruined after "Jackie" was very rude and unwelcoming at check-out. Made me not even want to buy from this establishment anymore! It's absolutely ridiculous how this girl treated us. She made me feel as if I was lower and stupid, I have previous experience in Customer Service and this is not how one should've been handled when asking about a price check or price match. I get it, it doesn't make sense to price match something from another retailer. But again, you cannot tell a customer that if they wanted that price instead, to just go there! I felt really unwanted in the store and I was simply trying to ask if the price match was possible, I understand if not, just let me know. She tried to push me out of the checkout after I said this isn't how you should be talking to a buying customer. The selection here was nice and everyone else was really welcoming and helpful, it's only when I came to checkout when service wasn't so great. After dinner, we walked by this NR and Hubby wanted to go in to see. The escalator takes the you downstairs to where everything is. I looked jewelry, makeup and shoes. I have never seen so many in my size but not the styles I liked. The line at closing was long but I got help in express and was out very quickly. It's a smart idea. You press the button for assist and one of the salespeople comes to check you out, only for credit cards. You really need to have the time to rummage thru things. Their women's jewelry section had very limited choices. Cosmetics was limited to certain brands and they carry some Burts Bee and Neutrogena items at regular pricing. read more

This is my favorite Nordstrom Rack location. I have found the best shoes here. I have a pair of Cole Hans that I get compliments on all the time. At many other NR locations the men's shoe selection for 10.5 men's is garbage. I am not sure about parking. Every time I have come here I have stayed at a hotel downtown and walked. My roommate thinks I project my feelings onto one of my cats... which is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard because my cat's favorite movie is 'The Bodyguard' starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner and I've never even seen that movie. This information, though useless to most, is relevant to this review because while this store does not carry cat items or allow even cats inside the store, I actually came here for my cat who has a deep emotional & physical connection to plastic bags from Nordstrom Rack. What better gift to bring back for him than a big, brand new, pristine plastic bag from the "Flagship Nordstrom Rack", as we (my roommate & I, not my cat) jokingly referred to it. This is probably more because this NR is below ground level, but it felt a lot more like a Filene's Basement circa 2004 than a modern day Nordstrom Rack in its hometown. I was certainly hoping for more and was a little disappointed with the size, display, and overall selection of this Nordstrom Rack. The whole store is a smidge more cramped and chaotic than I can deal with. I tried really hard to find something worthy of buying to get a big plastic shopping bag, but my wallet just wasn't having it. Even the make-up section was a little lackluster and not worth waiting in the infamous Nordstrom Rack wrap-around lines for a single eyeliner. My roommate ended up snagging a plastic bag from one of the bins underneath the non-register check-out stations and we got the heck out only to realize that pretty much every complimentary umbrella plastic bag that you find at the entrance of every store is the same kind of bag my cat likes and we could have picked him up something from just about anywhere, but I felt good bringing him back a name brand (or off brand, I guess) plastic bag to lick to his heart's content. read more

I was really impressed with this new location. For some reason I'm not typically a fan of bargain shopping. Stores of this kind are usually messy and disorganized. Anytime I've tried to shop at Ross or Marshalls or even the old Nordstrom Rack location, it felt overwhelming to me. Clothes are already from last season, the sizes are limited and you basically have to sift through piles or racks to find a hidden gem that may or may not be your size. BUT - That is all changed! I popped into the new Rack today to help my boyfriend shoe shop. So while I didn't spend a lot of time searching for women's clothes, I definitely peeped some great stuff. Especially accessories, shoes and jackets. The men's shoes were great. There was a clearance rack full of Cole Haans, Diesel, Nike, and more. All great brands and great variety. Anything from a sandal to sports, casual and dress shoes. We ended up getting him two pairs. A casual yet classy sneaker and a dress shoe. Additionally we thought to look at clothing even though we were specifically there to shoe shop. Much to our delight we nabbed two great dress shirts, one a Ted Baker and the other a Michael Kors for less than $60 each. We also got a nice Michael Kors tie! Having bought 5 fantastic items and spending about $200, it was great. I definitely want to come back and look for some things for myself. The only complaint I would have is that the women's shoes are all piled together by size. And while that makes sense, I wish they could also be organized by shoe type. In order to find a pair of dress shoes or athletic shoes, you have to look at every shoe on the rack because they're all together. This made me feel a little dizzy as I was looking at every single pair of shoes instead of something more specific to what I was looking for. If you're there for something specific like a black pump, it'd take forever to find them. But - having said that, everything else was great. The prices were great, the store was clean and well organized and the check-out registers never get backed up because there are various other check-out stations (like at a Mac store) where people politely scoop you up out of the line and ring you up with iphones. It took no time at all to pay and the man that rang us up was very friendly. I also spotted fashion help. Some employees donned special shirts and from what I can tell, they're there to help you find your style and dress you. What a neat idea! This Rack gets PACKED! But I can see why. Compared to other Racks I've been to, they have a really good selection of merch. Not just the usual made-for-the-Rack BS, but lots of designer shit filtered down from Nordstrom. Could be the result of being in a larger city than I'm used to, but the selection is far better than the Portland area Racks. I've been to this location a couple of times. Parking is murder. The place gets insano with people. But most of the time I find what I'm looking for. And most times I've been on the hunt for something real specific. Like replacement items for things I forgot when I came to town. Shoes, a belt, etc. Beyond the chaos and the solid selection, this is a Rack like any other. As to be expected with a "discount super store" of sorts, there isn't an over abundance of great customer service. However, the clothes are well organized, and there are a plethora of fair deals. This new location is very solid. I found a few things for myself, but my lady shopping companion found even more stuff. That isn't hard to understand because the store is about 80% ladies apparel and 20% men's. New store is clean, clothes are very well organized. My favorite thing about this store is the employees roaming around to help you check out on the spot instead of waiting in the long lines. Definitely a little cramped for a retail location. I regularly bumped into to people accidentally while shopping in the shoe section. However, they do have a great selection of shoes. I was worried that they'd have barely any selection for the middle/more average sizes but there was plenty to browse through. Some of the discounts are rather low (like 10-15%) but sometimes you can get a really good deal. They also have a well-organized accessories section. You can find practically any style of purse or wallet at very reduced prices. I also like that you can approach most of the employees pay for your purchase if you pay with a card (they can swipe it on their phone). That takes some of the hassle away from having to wait in long lines. read more

Came in this place immediately after going into the big sister Nordstrom which is conveniently located across the street. That store is currently under construction, which makes it a tad tougher to find things but no tougher to get what you need. However, if you're willing to do a bit more digging to find better deals, you can walk over here to what is essentially the designer TJ Maxx. Rack has always been hit and miss for me like any close out type store, because they buy out the department stores. They will either have TONS of small sizes and I'll make out like a bandit, or absolutely nothing at all. This is the time where I'll find 100 things I love at amazing prices all in size 14. You can't ask them to order it because of the way the store works, what you see is what's there. I always find asking the store manager what day they get deliveries helps me typically, but I was in town for a few days and decided to check out the stores, just didn't find anything here sadly. The store was pretty crowded, had a good selection of upscale and mid level designers and accessories. I did contemplate buying a crossbody Kate Spade purse but I really wanted it in nude and the one on the rack was red. Again, what you see is what you get. The entire store appears to be underground since you take an escalator down, and there aren't a line of registers anywhere. It looks like there are people scattered in the different departments JCPenney style to help you out which is SO much better than having one insane line at the front of the store. That is a major perk to get people out faster I haven't seen at other Rack stores that would bring me back here if only I lived here. read more

Sorrynotsorry Nordstrom Rack, but you can do better. I usually find myself here whenever I have a target purchase in mind, and whenever I'm here it is always a hot mess. I don't know if it's because NR is trying to bulk up on all the things, but it's really not working for me. I'll go to Forever 21 if I'm feeling like it's a treasure-hunt sort of day. Also, please do something about the awful signal here. What really got me is their clutter of a shoe section. I spent well over an hour looking for some sweet boots here last week and *finally* found a pair that I loved, only to discover that the two shoes were a shade different in color. The lady who helped me at the register was great about this and validated my concern right away, but every other person I encountered was zero help: One guy dismissed the color difference without a second glance and one girl never even bothered to find me after the register staff asked her to check the storage for the two other pairs that were in store. "The inventory is not reliable," she shrugged. Why even have an inventory if it's no good?! I get it, some shoppers go through items like a tornado and it's a pain in the ass to pick up after them, but at least pretend like you give a crap about customers who need help. The manager made no apology for having these silly boots out for sale, but did eventually agree to ship a pair from another store to me for free... ... And then I get an email saying the boots are unavailable. What a grand waste of my time. Should I have gone to DSW instead? Probably. Tighten up your game NR! read more

This Rack is probably the most organized location in the state. The lines to checkout never seem to be long, either, and management always makes sure there are plenty of cashiers. Not as big as other locations but they always have interesting inventory, just not as much selection. read more

I was so excited to come here thinking it was going to be bigger and nicer than the old location and I was a little disappointed. It is definitely not as ghetto as the old one but it does not have nearly as much inventory. Most of it is what Carly C. said, shoes in boxes in awkward spaces. This place would be a NIGHTMARE on the weekends even with the wireless check out people. I definitely would not come back to this location. They hardly had anything in here and it is super crammed. i do think it is cute that the sell flowers on that main street level entrance. read more
