This is one of my favorite Nordstrom locations. The store layout is great and easy to move around. The Men's department usually has a nice selection of items. If you're in the market for Men's casual wear ask for Ruth. I've worked with her multiple times over the pass few years. She's the best; personable and professional. read more

Where to start. I love Nordstrom's and all of their departments. First off, bathrooms when my daughter was born I came to Nordstrom to breastfeed on their comfortable couches and chairs in the women's lounge on the 2nd floor and the mom's room on the 3rd floor. It's dimly lit and quiet. What more can a mom ask for. Their changing tables are always clean and have ample soap and water to wash your hands afterwards. Shoes, I get my now 3 year old daughter fitted for shoes here. She loves the fish tank and the free balloon for cooperation. They have a great selection of shoes and sizes. We'll typically wander over to the children's section for clothing and then have lunch in the cafe which has wine, beer and ice teas. The women's section, there is nothing wrong with having a woman bring you 3 different brands of jeans in petite 16/18 range. Where else do you have that many choices. Oh and the kicker, they'll hem them for you too if you're 5'4" and lost between the petite and regular no mans land of sizing. Purses, I love looking here versus going to the Coach store where everyone seems to be in your business. I like casual browsing, I'll know when I find something and you'll know because I approach your register. Men's my fiance has found a shirt that was a bit snug, the lady at the counter went out of her way and had a larger size shipped in from Oakbrook. I have yet to have a bad experience at Nordstrom. Everyone of their departments have served my every need. read more

Normally, I am not a fan of high end stores, because I tend to think of them as over priced and pretentious. Nordstrom doesn't escape the first evil. As an iPhone Bakodo addict, I know that I can find things cheaper online. Yet, strangely, I am more than happy to buy from Nordstrom and pay top dollar for it. Why? Because they score big on customer service. I have always had very pleasant, knowledgeable people help me out and I have rarely been disappointed with the stuff I buy from them. Whenever I do need to return something, they are happy to take it back, and don't make my life miserable during the process of returning stuff. So being a girl with a bigger bust I was tired of the same ill fitting bra's I have purchased from one very famous and over priced bra and pantie shop. This time I did a little research mostly on Yelp of course and to my surprised Nordstrom came up as an option. So off I went and to my surprise I have one very satisfied set of girls. Pros - They have a huge selection of many different brands. - A friendly staff that was attentive and listened to what I needed . - The staff member that was helping me found some great bras that were on sale. I bought two bras for 50 dollars. I am 34DD. I was expecting to pay at least that much for one. - It was calm and quiet I didn't feel rushed. I wasn't having to look at a bunch of teenage girls go through bins of panties. - Its bra shopping for grown ups. - Also the same staff member was helping me throughout my bra shopping experience the other girls working in the dept were happy to get her when I had a question. I will definitely be going back there. Overall between the staff and experience I left one happy shopper. read more

I had a special event that evening and this was most important to me. They did not carry this fragrance so she made a few calls on our behalf, to try n locate the item. I generally try to stay away from the Woodfield area like the plague, but had ordered some shoes online that didn't work out and needed a quick return. Also, I normally frequent Oak Brook instead, but hey... I digress. Went in on a Saturday morning that was not too busy, was greeted right away in the shoe department and the sales person was extremely helpful. One of the shoes was not available in the store, so she asked what I was looking for. Her suggestions were awesome - and the shoes were way better than the ones I had ordered online. Granted, they were $400 a pair, but totally worth it for hand made, Italian leather and lifetime guarantee. Beats a $175 pair that wears out or falls apart in 3 months. Then I happened to get lost in the accessories section (how crazy??) and another very helpful associate helped me find a new designer purse I'd been looking for that was only previously available directly through the designer. Score! Then I figured since I was there, I'd grab make-up that I was running out of and the associates at Clinique, Dior, Bobbi Brown and Chanel were uber helpful. Overall, Nordstroms never disappoints... too bad they are connected to Woodfield! The only bad part of the trip was the parking garage - but to be fair, it's not really related to Nordstroms as the lady that almost re-ended me while she was texting and yelling at her kids went directly into the mall and not Nordstrom. Welcome to the land of pretty! I like this Nordstrom. IMO, its much smaller in comparison to the downtown location. The men's department isn't quite as large as the downtown location, which has a whole floor dedicated to the male species. This is important for me when I'm shopping with the other non-female humans . He needs to be occupied too! Having big wide feet it is often hard for me to find shoes that fit. I'm usually scrounging through some bargain basement shoe section for a size 13 that doesn't squish my feet. Nordstrom's 1901 brand are comfortable and reasonably priced, plus stylish. But the best part about Nordstrom is their customer service. I called Friday morning to ask them to hold their last pair of 13's. I was going to grab them after work. It turned out I didn't have time and they graciously held them until Saturday morning. Before releasing them, Colin, the gentleman who held them called to see if I still wanted them. When I said I did, he held them for the rest of the day, and I was able to swing by right before closing and pick them up. The staff is friendly, attentive, without being overbearing, and very complimentary. You leave here feeling good about your purchase. Nordstrom is not a cheap place but you are paying for style, quality, customer service, and a trusted brand. read more

This company used to be the BEST!! Not anymore !! Return policy changed. They won't even hold items for 1/2 hour while you shop around. I ordered online and 10 days later my "in stock" item still didn't ship. Last 3 online orders showed items in stock and once I placed order they emailed me that they can't fulfill order. This Nordstroms is great!!! Its huge...with three floors filled with great stuff. Their shoe department is really big and you can easily spend lots of time just going through all the different shoes here. This store is great and if you need a break as your shopping, head over to the cafe on the top floor -- they have some great desserts and drinks there! read more

Shopping with Perry in the men's department is always pleasant. Call ahead with your size and style preferences and Perry will have selections ready for you to try on. I mostly peruse nordstrom.com for my own wardrobe needs, but find this location to be well stocked with my favorite brands (Hudson, Ella Moss, DVF). read more

Typically during the 3rd week in July, it's time to celebrate Nordstrom's anniversary sale by spending your hard earned green on....yourself! This year I scored 3 gorgeous Eliza J dresses (regularly priced at $140 but half off!!!). I pretty much bought everything I tried on. Kelly was helping me in the fitting rooms from start to finish. (Way to be helpful but not pushy!) Customer service here is genuinely friendly and helpful. I was paying for my dresses when another sales girl looked like she was headed out the door with her purse and car keys. Seeing that a line was forming, she put her things down and helped the customer behind me! Wow! Sale's until August 2nd this year...so there's still some damage to be done! Easy place to shop at - I can come in, find what I need quickly and get out in a few minutes if I need to do so. One of the better department stores that I enjoy going to; probably my favorite of department stores actually. I frequent here for casual jeans and dress shirts; they always have something that fits what I'm looking for. They definitely have a much larger inventory for women, but the men's selection isn't too bad either. They carry a lot of high-end brands, but usually sell for a little bit cheaper than you'd find at their actual stores. I actually like their shoes and jewelry sections the most, for men at least. I've purchased at least four or five pairs of dress shoes from here (mostly Steve Madden), and several watches that I love sporting to dinners and special occasions. I know my friends come here for their accessories, typically sunglasses. They've found pairs for under $8 that are perfect for summer; and at prices like that, they've bought over a dozen pairs and can keep switching it up whenever they go out. Another good section is their cologne section. I don't know all the technical aspects of colognes but when I come here, an associate is always able to assist and show me styles that fit the season and what I'm looking for. They let you smell all of them, too, so you're not just buying a cologne without smelling it first. At time it can be a little pricey, but I always seem to leave with something in hand. read more

My only complaint is that this locaiton lacks many of the higher end items found in Oak Brook or Downtown. Any item they do not have in stock in your size will be shipped to your home at no charge and of course, returns are never a problem. I basically only shop at Nordstrom when they have the Anniversary Sale or any type of sale. I wish I could shop there more often but just can't afford to. There customer service is awesome! I found some items from the anniversary sale I liked online and they were so helpful to help me find what I was looking for in store. They had all northface jackets on sale and didn't have a size small like I wanted. Only XS and XL. My fault for going the last week of the sale. But the girl looked up the inventory to check other stores and found my size small and it was shipped to my house for free! I have been here several times and its the only nordstrom i really go to. I never really write reviews unless im super happy with a spot or if the service is terrible. Over the holidays i had the pleasure to be helped by a rep in the shoe area. I had to exchange 2 pairs of shoes, one for a smaller size and the other for a different shoe in general. BRIAN R. he has given me the most outstanding customer experience at Nordstrom ever. He was so helpful and had the attitude that he actually wanted to help me. There are times when reps help you because its their job and you can yell they are annoyed or don't want to be there. This guy was so upbeat and polite and helpful. They didn't have either shoe in the store. One pair he was able to order from Hawaii. The other he couldn't get a hold of any store to try and get it. He took my name and number down and said he would call me when he found it. I left the store thinking "they are super busy he's probably going to forget and not call me " So Brian calls me the next day, Sunday afternoon to tell me he was still trying to find the shoe and that he hadn't forgotten about me I was so happy and surprised. On Monday afternoon he calls me again to tell me he found the shoe and he was ordering it. He is the definition of great customer service. He followed up and delivered on his word. He is da man. I love Nordstrom. I USED TO love their sales associates. Why is everyone in the makeup department rude? I mean, I'm looking for a $60 face powder. The least you could do is greet me. My experience today ( Bobby Brown counter): I stand around trying to meet someone's eye... No luck. It's not busy, but I finally smile and say "Hi!" to a woman inside the Bobby Brown counter. The lady says hi back and turns away. Ummm, okay? I go by her, and inquire whether they have my fave fragrance. " Oh, I don't work at this counter," she says like I'm impeding her boredom and turns around again. Wtf?! Ventured out to Nordstrom out in Woodfield! Yes I know going to Woodfield could be such a pain any other day & especially on a Saturday of all days. But it was painless ,which was a pleasant surprise. We even got a good parking space by the store. We went there because my sister had to return her David Yurman bracelet because the amethyst stone came off. Nordstrom is known for their services . They did not disappoint. While my sister was getting serviced I walked over by the Joy Malone counter. I love their perfumes. Right away I was met by the Sales rep. Very pleasant & knowledgeable of the products. She was trying to get me interested in purchasing the room diffuser but at $90 I politely said no. She was nice & not to pushy. After going over went to the Lancôme counter as they were having gift with purchases. Of course I had to get some items. My sister ended up getting new foundation & blush. My mom got her press powder. I purchased a new eyeliner & lip gloss. However they were out of my 1st choice of color for the eyeliner. The ladies at counter were very apologetic & offered to order & ship it me for free but I opted to choose another color which was a nice alternative. Very good experience here. I definitely like this Nordstrom in Woodfield as they have a good stock of all their items. It's always nice just to window shop or purchase items. I am so disappointed by the only store one in the MIlwaukee area . They are very limited in their products and it is not laid out nicely . Too much of a wasted space. Stopped by while I was in the area to try and find a dress for an upcoming wedding. After going to a few stores on my way in from the parking lot and with absolutely no luck- I ended up in this Nordstrom. The selection in comparison to the other stores is laughable (in a good way) and the customer service is to die for. My biggest reason for writing this review was to thank the sales lady who had the dress I couldn't live without shipped in from another store and mailed to my address before the wedding I had to go to. It may be a typical action, but it made my day and melted away all the stress I was having about having to start all over when they didn't have my size in stock. So thanks! read more

Yet another sales person that could not out down their cell phone to help me. When she finally did she reeked of cigarettes. She knew nothing of the products and didn't really seem to care either. This nordstroms location is decent but I wouldn't say the best in the Chicago area- if you do not want to go downtown I would first recommend the Oak Brook location because they tend to carry more brands from inexpensive to extremely luxurious. This store generally carries more of the basics. In a pinch this is where I shop but if you are looking to splurge and really indulge in your shopping experience I would send you to the Oak Brook store first. read more

BAD STORE, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. CANCELLED ORDERS, LONG REFUND TIMES!!! Went to Nordstrom for the anniversary sale, the sandals I wanted were not in stock so they had to be ordered (no big deal). 3 Days later i get an Email stating my order was canceled due to the store not processing my order fast enough. Now here i am 5 days after the purchase and I have no sandals and out my cash. Upon calling customer service i was told I had to wait 5 days for my refund and if I wanted I could pay for another pair to order them, that would be 142 dollars for sandals i have never even wore... Do NOT SHOP AT Nordstrom @ Woodfield. The customer service is terrible, sales staff is unfriendly and only care about the commission and the sale. I will not shop at Nordstrom ever again. read more

Nordstrom is by far one of my favorite stores for shoes and the latest in fashion. What sets aside Nordstrom from other quality department stores and by quality, I do not mean Macy's (aka Messy's).... Nordstrom has outstanding customer service. I bought a pair of denim here and I did not know the sizing since I was stepping out of my comfort zone and trying a new brand. I bought a size that was too big. I packed it and put it in my suitcase. While I was out of town, I wore the pair a jeans and boy do they stretch. Meanwhile, I wanted to get them in a smaller size, but I misplaced the receipt and who knows were the tags were. I explained all of this to the sales woman and she said she will look everything up by my email. She was able to find when I purchased the jeans and allowed me to exchange for the smaller size. The thing about Nordstroms is they are advance as far as technology and can find people by email or even by the date that you bought the item. I never misplace receipts nor ever really return anything, but this was one of those weird occurrences, since I bought a new brand. She didn't think I was weird with the story I told her, because honestly, I would of thought I was weird! Woodfield is great, however, I do have a personal contact at Oak Brook since I shop there more, which is a really nice feature. They are very personal with you and if you explain what you like, they will find 50 other items that you'll like too. Saves time! LOVE LOVE LOVE! read more

You may think the best place to get shoes for a child is Stride Rite. You would be wrong! It's actually Nordstrom. If you like, you can make an appointment with a sales associate, but walk-ins are welcome too. Everyone here loves kids and is very friendly. The woman who helped us buy my daughter's first pair of walking shoes was fun yet professional, and she made my shoe-hating little girl smile and laugh. She also checked to make sure the shoe would fit as well when my daughter was standing as it did when she took the seated foot measurement. Their selection is amazing, including Stride Rite, Converse, Adidas, Tom's, Baby Nordstrom, and many other brands. What is really special about them, however, is the way they have little extras for their customers. For example, there is a fish tank with little chairs around it that kids can watch if there is a wait. If you buy your child's first shoes here, they take a photo to commemorate the occasion for you and give your child a "Nordy," a plush shoehorn. Of course Nordstrom has so much more than baby shoes, but this level of selection and service extends throughout the store. Nordstrom is the best place to get bras, or to get professionally fitted for them. You can book a free appointment with a personal shopper, aka personal stylist, who will be like a more polite version of Clinton and Stacy from What Not to Wear. They have an excellent Mother's Room, totally separate from the bathrooms and Women's Lounge, where you can breastfeed, change, or otherwise tend to your child. While the prices on some things are quite steep, it's not like you're going to find Alexis Bittar earrings for cheap at some other store--not real ones, anyhow. Some brands are priced more affordably than others, however, so don't assume that if you aren't in a certain tax bracket, you can't come to Nordstrom and shop for a few classic pieces a year to stretch your wardrobe, decorate your home, or bolster your stock of kitchenware. read more

This nordstroms is hands down the best one in the chicago suburbs. The staff is always having an honest opinion instead of trying to up their commisions. They are always helpful amd friendly no matter what your age. Most nordstroms staff tend to discriminate if youre younger than the age of 30; thinking youre not going to spend money. But this location doesnt. Also I like how they share their opinions with me, making the shopping experience more personable. read more

When someone told me that Nordstrom has the best return policy I was like in what way? This was because I have always found the right product for me or I've always had an associate finding the right product for me and I've never had to return anything. However for my birthday I did get a pair of Uggs and they just simply weren't my style I mean they were but they just didn't fit well. Anyways that's not important what's important is the level of customer service at this location is just astonishing. When I first entered into this Nordstrom location I wanted to look around first to see what I wanted to exchange my shoe for. Before I could even look around I was greeted by at least three associates, who were more than willing to help me. This was awesome because when it came time to exchange my shoe finding an associate was not an issue. I feel bad because I was supposed to write this review a very long time ago and I'm so bad with names I believe the gentleman who helped me his name was either David or Daniel and he was just amazing. I ended up getting a different pair of Ugg boots and in the meantime I was wearing a pair of Sam Edelman boots that had lost one of the pins on it. I asked the gentleman if they sold the pins separately knowing it was a shot in the dark, they did not sell it but I had no problem contacting the manufacturer but the gentleman told me to hold on while he asked his manager if she would know how I can get the pin replaced. So not thinking anything of it he asked me if I would like him to clean my boots that is currently wearing. I've never had anybody ask me that at Nordstrom I didn't even know that they did that so I said sure. Not even five minutes later he comes back with an extra box and inside the box is a new pair of Sam Edelman boots. The same ones that I had gotten two years ago except the pin was a different kind of shade of gold. He asked me if the shoes look clean and I was like yeah those are new. That's when he told me he had asked the manager for an exception exchange because it was outside of the return policy but because I had bought them from Nordstrom and was now a returning customer he did me that favor. Mind you I didn't even ask for an exchange I came in there to exchange Ugg boots. I ended up getting a different pair of Ugg boots and I ended up walking out of Nordstrom with another new pair of shoes as well. I guess he must have sensed that it was my birthday because he did ask me what was the special occasion I had gotten Uggs for and I told him it was my golden birthday and I just turned 25. Little did he know I was actually having a bad birthday and for that matter I was actually having a terrible week butt with one little nice gesture he completely turned that all around. The night ended on a good note but he was definitely part of why my birthday was so special. I know it sounds crazy because I don't even know him but that act of kindness and forward thinking of doing that for me when I didn't even ask him to exchange the current shoes I was wearing to the store I just think that's remarkable. And I really hope management reads this because he's just a great employee and I'm not saying he's a great employee because he made an exception exchange for me I'm saying he's a great employee because he went out of his way to do that for me. Like I said I rarely ever return anything to Nordstrom because I always leave they're happy and I've had multiple experiences that this same Nordstrom store they were really good but this guy was just Next Level customer service. In the future regardless if I have a bad experience at Nordstrom which I highly doubt that will ever happen, I will still continue to shop at Nordstrom because I will think about this moment and how grateful I was that an associate took the time to exchange not one but two pairs of my shoes. I don't know if he even made any commission on my sale I hope he did but in case he didn't I am writing this review because I want to show my appreciation for what he did. I hope other yelpers read this review and come to this location and have a great experience like I did but maybe not on the level that I did because I'm sure these are exceptions. I also really hope that Nordstrom takes the time to read Yelp reviews for the sake of this employee. I mean I'm still kind of confused at how he was able to know that it was my birthday I didn't even mention it I didn't even talk about it because I was having such a bad day.
