I actually drive 1/5 hours from LA in traffic to see them. The are all kind and attentive, and take all the time I need to do amazing work, and answer all questions. The vibe in the office is Hawaiian with gentle Hawaiin music and I was completely relaxed. They are Noka Oi (Hawaiian for number one) in my experience. From the beginning, I found her condescending and unpleasant to deal with. After reading other reviews, that does not seem to be an isolated impression. The bigger issue is not her personality. It is the repeated failure to handle my epilepsy medication responsibly. Multiple times, my prescription was not renewed when it needed to be. In one instance, I was told her license had expired, and no one notified me for over a week. Because of that, I went two days without my epilepsy medication. That is not a paperwork mistake. That is dangerous. Epilepsy medication is not Tylenol. I cannot casually stockpile it because it is a controlled substance. Because her office failed to communicate properly, I had to drive around Los Angeles while experiencing auras and mini-seizures trying to find someone who could help me get my medication filled. That situation could have led to a full seizure, loss of my driver's license, serious injury, or death. When I explained this to her office, they did not seem to care. I was essentially told it was too difficult to notify patients about the license issue. That answer is disgusting. A similar situation happened again recently. I called her office and learned she had been placed on leave for the month, and once again my prescription had not been renewed. I had to go through urgent care just to get medication I should never have been left without. I was off my medication for more than a day again. A neurologist who treats epilepsy patients should understand that missed medication can be life-threatening. Dr. Oh's office treated it like an inconvenience. Based on my experience, I would not trust Dr. Oh with epilepsy care. I would not recommend her to anyone who needs reliability, urgency, or basic concern from a doctor. Her care has been dismissive, careless, and unsafe.

I chose Dr Loomis as my PCP after getting on Medicare coverage. I had no health issues when I first…read moresaw her. After getting my lab results, she incorrectly diagnosed me as "Diabetic" even though it is common practice to have more that 3 high A1C readings before pronouncing that diagnosis. Frankly, she shocked me when she told me I was diabetic. She sent me to see her useless dietician, presumably so she could bill Medicare for these service. I did not authorize the dietician visits, not was I aware that she had to note me as "diabetic" in order for the services to be covered. I had to ask her to delete the diagnosis which I am not sure she ever did. This is not the first time she shocked or scared me. Later, she told me I needed to come in for fluids because my Sodium levels were low. When I rushed down, after cancelling other commitments, she said I did not need fluids after all, to just drink more water. The last straw was when she ordered labs tests that I found out from Quest, were "not medically necessary", and I ended up with a close to $500 bill. I worked with her office staff for 5 months (yes, 5 months!) to get this bill reduced. I never got an answer as to why she ordered 3 tests that were not deemed a medical necessity. One is supposed to sign a waiver when presented with a test or procedure that Medicare may not cover. I was never asked to sign the Medicare waiver. This sounds like malpractice to me. When I called the front office staff they would bounce me from one person to the next, wanting me to give the whole story over and over again. They would put me on hold for 10 or 20 minutes, no problem. The person I was working with, Brianna, was always "busy on another line", or "just stepped out". When I finally did speak with Brianna, she would say that she hadn't gotten around to my issue and to give her another month. She told me that the lab could not send me to collections for a long time. I finally just paid the lab bill to get this resolved and off of my desk. I would not recommend Dr Loomis or her staff or office to anyone looking to have a meaningful relationship with their primary care doctor. If this is how they treat me when I am basically healthy, what kind of care will they give when really needed. Save your time and find a competent, caring doctor.

If you want to talk to someone, you need to show up. This office does not use any electronic system database and everything is paper/files. It took me months to get a follow up referral (that the doctor had recommended) because they had not submitted the referral. I called the office countless times, left voicemails, and no responses. Once I finally spoke to someone, they said they'd be submitting the referral before the end of the week.... One month later and it still wasn't submitted until I went into person and asked for it to be done. Additionally, when I had an appointment with Dr. Marmarelis, I was disappointed in the lack of professionalism I experienced. After waiting 30 minutes for my appointment, in the middle of my appointment, he stepped out to take a phone call and in doing so, left my files AND another patients files in the room with me. It concerns me and makes me wonder if my own records are being left haphazardly around the office and my information is not being protected. The doctor did not seem to truly care of my symptoms, previous history or helping me improve my health. He quickly prescribed Topamax, while making a disgusting comment that "women love it because they lose weight." I was truly appalled. Then said my migraines were something to just manage, despite being truly debilitating at times. His demeanor was very "know-it-all," without taking the time to understand me as a patient. My headaches have gone from a couple per month to daily, and his response was simply that I need to take the medication and "follow the process for insurance purposes." That's it. This is exactly why western medicine gets such a bad rap. I left the appointment feeling strange, frustrated, and dismissed.
