The short version, is that the service has been terrible, and I would never use them again. The long version: My washing machine would not stop filling. I called Sunday morning and Marcus arrived later that day. He made a diagnosis and said he had to order a part. I asked him if it was going to take a long time to fix it, and he responded that he should have it within a few days. I paid $240. I did not hear back from him, and the company would not return my calls. After multiple attempts from my cell phone, they answered when I called from my home line, then once more from my wife's line. Obviously, they were ghosting us. Mickey told us that they had the part and would come on Friday. They did not show up. After numerous calls and texts, they promised Tuesday, and again did not show. On Wednesday, Mickey told me that Marcus had already spoken with my wife, but he had not. I cancelled the charge on Mastercard. I ordered the part online for $84, and I will install it myself tonight. Marcus left a message on my phone yesterday that the part was in and when can he come by to install it. Very polite and seeming knowledgable and even left me with the confidence of his competence and expertise and a paid receipt w repair recommendations and THEN since aug 31 , repeated NO SHOW repair appointments. Scam! They took $110 cash from me up front to order the part to fix my Samsung washer. It's been two days since they were supposed to come back to make the repair. They will not answer the phone or return phone calls. This operation is fake news!! Consumer beware! I called Norfolk Appliance to repair my Samsung Dishwasher. The technician arrived almost on time, 30 minutes late. He was amiable, and polite. He diagnosed the problem to be a motor assembly and stated he would order the part. He asked for 1/2 down, which is usual for small companies. This was on Feb. 25. He said he would be back on Monday March 2. He did not show up! I called he said the part was in and he could come on Tuesday the 3rd at 8:30 am. He never showed. I called and was told he got busy and would come on Wednesday. Since I would be out of town that day I asked him to come on Friday. He showed up on Friday and installed the pump. He said he was finished and I paid him the other half of the money. He was barely out of the driveway before the dishwasher failed again. I stopped him and he came in looked at the lights on the panel and said he needed to talk with Samsung and he would call me back in 20 minutes. That was the last time I had contact with him. I contacted them to fix a malfunctioning microwave. The technician arrived on time and was courteous. However, the diagnosis was that the part was broken, and could not be ordered, as the manufacturer no longer made it. The tech collected the service charge, which strangely was required to be made out to the tech personally, rather than to the company, and left. Possible warning sign there. As the microwave was two years old, I was suspicious and checked the manufacturer's website. The part was listed as available. I then watched a you-tube video regarding the specific part repair. After disassembling, the control panel, I found that the part was not broken, but rather had popped loose from its mounting. I reset the spring mechanism on the actuator and snapped it back in place. Microwave has been working fine since. Subsequently contacted the owner to get a refund, for the poor service call. The owner refused, but offered a free diagnostic visit for the next appliance problem. The irony was not lost on me. I wonder how much more money would have been wasted, had I accepted the tech's diagnosis and purchased another microwave. My pregnant wife called out Mickey to repair our dishwasher on 1/19/19. Here I am on 3/31/19 and our dishwasher is still not fixed. Even worse he took the $180 we gave him as well as parts out of our dishwasher and has stood us up at least a dozen times. Every time he is supposed to come out and repair the dishwasher; he either goes MIA and stops answering his phone or he has an excuse as to why he can't make it out that day. He literally told my wife he was 5 minutes out and would be there shortly only to never show and not respond to any phone calls or text messages for days. His response....his phone died. Stay far away if you value your time and money. There is a reason this company can't be found on the BBB yet it claims to be established in 2004? This is just another spin off of a failed company of Mickeys where he screws people over by taking their money, only to start a new company and post a bunch of fake reviews to make it appear legit. Ben N Thayme is the one before this one. I've found atleast 3 others before that. *On a side note, make sure you look at the reviews. Yes on Google he may have a 4.5 star rating with 44 reviews but I find it funny that the majority of those reviews all came in within minutes of each other, not to mention they have given 5 star reviews to both Norfolk Appliance Repair and Ben N Thayme Appliance Repair within the last 6 months. UPDATE: This guys is a scam. After talking to the actual technician, all he did was defrost my fridge even though he claimed to do more. Called and received the same day service. Technician came out and was very polite. Diagnosed a problem and said he could be back the next day. Came out the next day and performed the fix. Said that he backs it up with a one year warranty. Two days later I noticed that the fridge was having similar problems. So, I called him back and he said he will come take a look at it. This is where we started having troubles. He said he would be there around 9-10, but didn't get here until 1:30 in the afternoon. No "hey I am running late" or anything of that nature. But when he came back out and said that it was a different part that needed fixing and that he would have to order it. He later sent a message saying that the part will be here in a couple of days. This is when I started getting "Ghosted". On the day he said he would come back to repair it, he said he would be here after 4:30pm. Never showed. Next day I asked if he was going to be able to make it and he said in the afternoon. Didn't hear from him until around 7pm after I left two text and voicemail. He called me back and left a message with me. On this message he got extremely unprofessional and said I was blowing up his phone and here he was calling me back and no answer. When I called him back he got really defensive and asked why we left a bad review (which we had not at that point). We ended the phone call with him saying that he was going to make us his first stop in the morning and be there by 8. Next morning 8 came and went and 9 came and went. We had things to do that day so we left. Around 9:45 he texted and said that he was on his way. Unfortunately we weren't able to make this day work, but agreed on the following day to try and get this problem resolved. Welp guess what? He choose not to show again. Please find another company. They were lackluster, piss poor, and frankly unprofessional. I called saying that my refridgerator's ice maker and water supply were not functioning. The gentleman asked me for my address and sent a technician out the same day. He did not ask for the make and model of the fridge, did not suggest any diagnostic measures that I could take, and did not ask about any other underlying issues. He was simply concerned about sending someone out to make a quick buck. I complied, the technician came, and after 5 minutes, I was told to go to Home Depot to buy a filter. I now know that these filters are common and inexpensive. The technician brought no filters, tools, or resources to address the problem on sight. He, and the company, were useless. The technician looked like he just left a barbecue and hopped on over to my home to tell me to go fix the issue myself. What kind of refrigerator repair company doesn't carry filters on them??? Please find another company for your repairs before you are stuck like me having to pay $85 for a "consultation" that could have been handled over the phone. Update: After I bought a filter and after I watched a 5 minute Youtube video to help diagnose the problem with the refrigerator, I've learned there is a problem with the valve and not the filter. The technician should have known to test the system using a filter cap but of course he didn't know this and did not pursue any diagnostics. Called Norfolk Repair to fix a freezer showed up 2 hours late 10 minutes later he was done replacing a relay switch $315.00 later he left checked my freezer later still not freezing, called next day 5 hours later he replaced a different part said he would check back in a couple hours. He scammed us too. My wife wanted our refrigerator fixed same day. He showed up, removed the compressor and took payment half down. Three days later, he comes back with the new compressor (which I believe was the one he removed). He installed it, added R-134A and left. We went from having a problem with just the freezer to having a refrigerator that did not work period. When I called to complain, he said he would be there in half an hour and never showed. His work voided LG's warranty and we had to buy a refrigerator. The biggest hint I should have caught was that he did not even have the tools for the job.
