If I didn't remind him the day before, there was a good chance he would simply forget, with no heads-up, no apology, and no communication whatsoever. I own a design-build company, so I understand what it's like to be busy. We're constantly juggling multiple projects, but we still show up when we say we will. Being busy is not an excuse for wasting other people's time. Yesterday was the second time he completely no-showed for a confirmed appointment. We had scheduled it days in advance, yet there was no phone call, no text message, nothing. I drove 40 minutes to the job site, waited another 30 minutes, then drove 40 minutes back home--for absolutely nothing. That's nearly two hours of my day wasted because he couldn't even send a 10-second text. This wasn't an isolated incident. It became a pattern of missed commitments, poor communication, and complete disregard for other people's time. If someone can't be trusted to show up for a simple appointment, I wouldn't trust them with an actual project. I can no longer recommend this company. Save yourself the frustration and hire one of the many other landscaping companies that actually communicates, keeps appointments, and respects their customers' time.

He is a supplier who does what he says he is going to do thoroughly, without cutting corners, and his price is more competitive than anyone I interviewed. Erick knows gardens and even though I tried to pay him extra for a small additional project, he said, "I'll take your money if you really want to do the other project, but you don't need to waste your money." Went with Lopez Landscaping since they had the smaller equipment and manpower to get the job done. The tree was quickly removed but it was a 3 star maybe 3.5 star experience because of the additional work needed to coordinate everything. The good: - competitive quote and they were able to come by quickly to assess the work - flexible in bringing equipment that worked with tight openings - main tree removal was done in 5 hours - removed paver stones so they wouldn't be damaged by machinery - friendly and professional. They accommodated a special request to cut a section for a table The bad: - rescheduling was a huge pain. We had to go back and forth for 3 weeks and I had to proactively follow up to confirm if they were coming - unable to grind the stump as part of the initial quote so had to pay another $400 for them to come back with a different machine - never got an invoice despite asking for one multiple times To summarize, this seems to be a nice family business that has experience removing trees quickly. However, it doesn't appear there is a back office that keeps everything organized so you're going to have to do a lot of work to stay on top of things.

He uses vague language as to what exactly the scope of his work will cover. I tried multiple times, but failed to get him to spell out whether his price included what I had asked him to do. He throws in a "base price" at you for "what HE wants to do" but not what YOU asked him to do; then he wants to charge you extra for this and extra for that. Don't waste your time. Tree service companies are dime a dozen and there's no need to deal with unethical people.

On the day of the job, Rudy and Marlin worked tirelessly for 3 1/2 hours and got a tremendous amount done - trimming multiple hedges and bushes, cutting back an almost dead lilac, power washing the patio (it looks as good as it did 15 years ago when it was installed), cleaning moss, etc. off the garage roof (hadn't been cleaned since I got the house 30+ years ago), cutting up and removing a fallen branch, and power washing a basketball backboard that I wasn't even sure could be reached.
