Bob and his team were absolutely fantastic. We had them trim very large branches from a beech tree and pine tree that were too close to the house for my liking. We had some long overdue pruning on 4 sugar maples and one red maple. The trees are over 85 years old. A lot of pruning and shaping was needed. First class crew and the work they did was excellent. read more

Be advised that you should supervise the job as they are doing it. I was absolutely shocked (and heartbroken) by the amount they cut back our Maple, which has totally changed our yard and eliminated much of our privacy and green cover from our neighbors. I wish I had not agreed to have the tree trimmed at all, but obviously, I can't go back in time. read more

Horrible customer service. The company is clearly run by a bunch of idiotic morons who don't know the least about customer service or professionalism. Had an appointment for an estimate. They never showed up. Randomly showed up the next day - I wasn't home. Stupid guy says to me "I thought I could come any day between 8 and 12." Really?? Then why did we make an appointment??? They finally send a quote 4 days later. Which is valid for 30 days. I accept and mail a deposit check within 24 hours. And attempt to schedule service. Then I get a call from the bozo, all giggly saying Oops. I made a mistake. They will not honor the quote. No apologies. No willingness to work with me. In retrospect I'm actually glad they won't be doing the work. I have visions of them dropping a tree on my house and submitting the video to America's Funniest Home Videos. I am so disappointed about the services. After I ordered and pre-paid almost two months ago for the March snow storm that pulled down three trees in my yard. I am still waiting the company to finish my stump removal. I made several phone calls and got no answer when it will be happen. I would not recommend this company. The do not honor our request and keep their promise in time. I would never pre-paid services from this company because I do not trust them. I am still waiting them to finish their services in late May. It is more than two months after the March Snow Storm. read more

Arborway was able to come out and do the consult pretty quickly. We needed some pruning done on a neighbor's branches that looked like they may be a risk if too much snow got on them, as they were on top of power lines. I had met with another company right before Arborway and they were the same price, but wanted to sell me on a bunch of other things that were probably very legitimate, but it wasn't what I wanted to address at that time. Arborway came, took a look, said they'd have no problem doing what we needed, offered to give us a Neighbor permission form (which sounded like a great idea, i.e., in case neighbor came out when they were cutting and were wondering what they were doing). They even pointed out previous pruning that had been done to the tree which looked like a hack job, and they said they would do better than that. The first company couldn't guarantee that the job could be done quickly, but that they'd try. Arborway said that it was a pretty quick and easy job and could be done soon as they could do it as a "filler job" since they did a lot of work right down the street. The only small negative was that after the initial consult, I didn't hear from them right away (the first company gave me a paper quote same day) with the official quote and the neighbor form. I emailed them the day after and they did email back right away saying they would get the arborist to send the quote out as soon as possible. When I look back, the overall turnaround time was actually pretty good. I contacted them the morning of 1/18 (a Friday), they came on Monday (!) and sent me the quote on Thursday. It took me a few days to get the paperwork back to them (waiting on the neighbors to sign the permission form). I got the paperwork back to them on 2/1 and because it was filler work, they couldn't give me an exact time and date. However, they were AMAZING when they knew the big storm (2/8) was coming. They got out here the morning of the storm at 8am. I don't recall if it was Steve or Chad who came, but the gentleman who came to the house was extremely professional and polite and pointed out what they would do and that they would clean up after themselves. I came back an hour later and the pruning was done beautifully and not a trace of branches were on the driveway. Would definitely recommend these guys! read more

Have been using Arborway for tree health (treatments) with good results for the past two years. Recently asked them to do a removal of two large Norway Maples in my back yard, no equipment access so they had to handle it as a climb. I wanted to have some huge trees planted in my yard. These guys came out to consult with me about which trees would work best in the yard. The guy who came out, also looked at all the trees and shrubs around, he identified them, and made some suggestions. He did not charge me a dime. They seem to be good, honest, helpful people. I found the trees I wanted elsewhere, but I will hire them in the future for any tree maintenance. read more

After waiting for months for them to come they left oil stains in the driveway greater than 3 ft wide. I contacted them and they said they did what they could do to remove them. They did remove the stumps but will never hire them again. read more

I recently hired these guys for some pruning and plant health care work. I had several estimate and hands down these guy know their stuff far above any other tree company that I had come give me an estimate. It started with Steve who is a very likable guy not just a salesman told me what I need a d what I didn't have to do. Not like the other companies who tried selling me everything. After the confirmation process Chad and the crew came out and what a group of professionals very polite Chad talked my wife through the process. The job is what they quoted me on, the pruning was done with care and looks great and the most important they did an awesome clean up. I've told all my neighbors to call them if they need work. Arborway wasn't the cheapest estimate I had but I find you get what you pay for and i won't call around for estimates it's Arborway's job. read more

Our tree got struck by lightening. We left a message the night of the 4th. The guys had already driven by our house, did an assessment of cost and had a truck at our house with a crew to remove the tree by 9:30am! Amazing! Crew had everything done and out by noon, and this was a huge maple- over 60 feet! Tree was in a precarious spot on a hill, near 2 houses and power lines. They were professional and got the job done. Cleaned up after themselves and it was like the tree was never there! Will use them again in the future for sure!! read more

Do not use this company. They do not return calls once they have your money, the arborist is terrible and they are NOT responsible. They killed my 60 year old tree and were rude to me every time I called and tried to get the arborist here. There are many good companies in Boston like BARTLETT for tree pruning and removal. We have used Arborway for many years for our tree care. The arborist and technicians have always displayed the highest standards in caring for our property, which, although not large, has several large shade trees and several smaller ornamental trees. We hired Arborway to remove a large tree from the front of our house. We live in a densely populated area of Dorchester and the tree was wedged between the body of the house and the sidewalk. It was probably 50 - 60 feet high with several large limbs hanging over the street. They brought in three large trucks - one with a cherry picker, one with a chipper and one with a large claw. One guy got in the cherry picker with a chain saw and proceeded to remove the smaller limbs and toss them to the ground where they were fed into the chipper. When the sections of trunk were being removed, they used the claw. The whole process took less than 2 hours. We saw the whole process and it was amazing to watch. Professional, careful and in complete control of the operation at all times. The use of the cherry picker was particularly impressive. At times it needed to be within 6 inches of the house and not once did it touch the house.It was a safe and efficient process throughout and they were able to get the stump much lower than we expected given the tight quarters. The team was friendly and polite and we were pleased with every aspect of our interaction with the company and the team. I would highly recommend their services to anyone, and in fact we already have made a recommendation to a coworker. read more
