My husband and I had the pleasure of hiring Nori team for our baby shower last weekend. Kevin kept great communication and professionalism throughout the booking process, offering tips and pointers that were much appreciated. We chose: Salmon Spicy Tuna Mentaiko Scallops Wagyu Kushiyaki, and Yuzu Tsukene The team arrived on time, with clear instructions and expectations needed on both ends, Nori team went straight into setting up and crafting the delicious hand rolls. I was quite busy running around, and being pregnant, I could only devour one wagyu roll, lol, and MAN, let me tell you, it melted in my mouth in seconds. Oooooh weee, and the selection of the sauces were spot on. Nori treated our guests with kindness, respect, and patience. They kept the lines moving and guests were able to come back for more. Once finished, they checked in with us to bid us a proper farewell, we really enjoyed the experience and the pleasure of their service. The only reason I'm taking off one star is due to the confusion of the menu selection of Yuzu Tsukene. I didn't know that this selection is a mixture of chicken and beef meatballs, rather than being 100% chicken. I chose this option mainly for that, and unfortunately, some of my guests are allergic to beef and couldn't eat seafood, looking forward to trying the Yuzu Tsukene but couldn't enjoy them. Other than that, I would most definitely hire Nori again for our future events. I've booked Nori for two different events now and I have to say that they are going to be a staple for all of my future events because both the food and service from the very beginning are absolutely incredible! I worked with Kevin through text and he's always been so quick to respond and helpful in putting a menu together and suggesting the roll limit (and trust me, you want to listen to him because the rolls are only good when they're not soggy). Our favorites are the Maui Tuna and Hamachi, and their sauces are SO GOOD! If you want a wow factor for your events, I highly suggest hiring Nori! The only thing that you have to make sure you have is enough space, ability to roll their carts in (aka no stairs) and a long extension cord that they can connect to. This is pretty typical of most food vendors so just be wary of this if you haven't booked food vendors to a party before! read more

I have been able to use Nori twice to cater events at my home. From initial communication with Kevin to the service of the servers and chefs at the house to the cleanup, this service is absolutely top notch. For a very reasonable price, you have made to order handrolls for you and your guests. Each time, my guests have raved about the handrolls and especially the sauces that accompany them. (The yuzu kosho is my absolute favorite!) I also wouldn't sleep on the yakitori menu. They are able to pack a smoky bite with some rice into a little nori taco that satisfies my non-seafood eaters. And even the vegetarians with the miso eggplant yakitori commented on how tasty and flavorful it was. You cannot go wrong with this team. Keep up the good work! This is a long overdue review. I enjoyed having Nori at my event and thought Kevin was the best vendor I've worked with EVER. I throw many parties and have worked with many great vendors but Nori has been one of my favorite. From the start, Kevin was very kind and professional in helping me get a quote. Something I appreciated was his website was upfront with cost/menu that I didn't have to go through this hassle of finding out if it was within budget and I knew it was transparent cost across the board. When working on the menu, he had originally provided me a quote and I had agreed to the cost and told him I was ready to commit and to send me the invoice. When he did his invoice, he realized he accidentally overquoted me on an item and told me he made the mistake and it was actually going to be less which shocked me. I had already agreed to the cost and had just assumed the price had gone up from the menu, but the fact that he was honest and corrected the mistake instead of just going with what he had originally quoted me stood out big time to me. Not only was he honest, he was reasonable and I knew from that point, he was a good guy. Throughout the whole process he was super easy to work with, not pushy and we were able to handle the deposit with no issues. I didn't get that sleezy pushy salesman feeling as I do with some vendors where they overhype/push the sell. He was just super chill and easy to talk with and I just felt so comfortable working with him from the start. He worked with me behind the scenes on some changes and was super accommodating. Throughout the process he answered any questions I had and was super responsive and quick. If he wasn't able to respond, he let me know the reason and gave me an ETA of response. Just overall great communication. Now the food and service. The handrolls were so yummy! Everyone loved the concept and the staff were so kind and accommodating. They gave just such a warm welcoming feeling and it helped my guest feel at ease when picking their rolls. Nori also helped me out with some garlic noodles which at first I wasn't giving much expectations since I was thinking they specialize in the handrolls but on the day of WOW, it surprised me and I had so many guests compliment and enjoyed the noodles as well (especially the kids)! Guests requested to go containers and an item they wanted to pack were the noodles! They were made with udon noodles which the kids loved! Literally I still look back and think of my event and Nori helped make the day even more special for me. Many guests asked for their contact and saying they loved the handrolls and want to keep their contact for their next event. Happy I got to try food from this catering business at event I recently attended. I at first assumed they only serve sushi (raw seafood) rolls but to my (pleasant) surprise they have some other really good cooked protein options. I'm assuming there are different catering options at times but here is what was offered at the event I attended --Seafood Selections-- Shrimp Tempura Spicy Tuna Scallops Hamachi Salmon Shrimp Crab ---Garnishes--- The Nori Crunch Crunchy Garlic Crunchy Shallots Chili Garlic Crunch ---Yakinori--- Wagyu Meatball Pork Belly Wagyu Beef Chicken Thigh The different rolls I tried with respect to the protein were the shrimp tempura, pork belly, wagyu & chicken thigh. Out of the garnishes I only tried Chili Garlic Crunch which was quite good. Out of the 3 sauces they offered I only really tried the Garlic Shoyu. I will say I was a big fan of the Chili Garlic Crunch & Garlic Shoyu. I feel like they tasted good with everything. The Chili Garlic Crunch is like a really good chili crunch oil (Trader Joes, Lao Gan Ma, etc.) but minus the oil, with more crunch. Adds great texture, and spicy to everything, which I'm a big fan off. Dipping is a win for me and the tasty Garlic Shoyu elevated the rolls for me. All the rolls I tried were deliciously savory in the best way. I could really taste that the meats were just freshly grilled and not sitting under a heat lamp for hours at all. If you look at the basic roll structure it's actually quite simple, seaweed, protein, rice & sauce/garnish if you so please. So the major win here is the execution of everything together creating a very pleasant eating experience with not just the flavors but also the textures. Oh and all the staff I interfaced with were really great and friendly. Seemed like they enjoyed what they were doing, which just added to the great food. They left behind some lids and I had to reach out to coordinate to see if they were going to come back to pick them up. I put them in a bag and left them outside on the bench for them to pick up any time. Only to find out that the drive for them was not worth it and told me to throw the lids away.
