So, even though I wasn't the person that hired their catering service, I wanted to give them a review. My organization has used them many times and they've always killed it. I don't know how much they charge, but if you want to have a fantastic catered meal I highly recommend them. And definitely get their bread and desserts. Gensler Newport Beach has used Plates and Bowls pre-Covid and now that a lot of office gathering and events are back post Covid we are happy to use them again. Kristen and the team over there are very communicative (a must when handling the stress of organizing any events for a busy PE firm) and the product they deliver is exceptional! We had our Baby Shower brunch on Sept. 7, 2024. The food was good and the portion was generous. Would definitely use P+B again but do want to share what we were disappointed about. We were told that the catering service would provide "plenty" of disposable plates, utensils, napkins, take-home boxes, and small plates for cake (although cake was done by a separate baker). No take-home boxes or small plates were provided. The napkins were cocktail-sized napkins only, there were barely enough plates, and we ran out of forks. And we were frugal by not changing our plates when going for second helping. We ended up having to run to Target to get more supplies. read more

I was skeptical to try a new caterer for my son's 21st birthday "bar" brunch, but I shouldn't have been. I had Chef Andy and Ali come with more fixings for our omelet bar than I could have ever imagined! I also requested breakfast potatoes, and Jenn easily accommodated even though they are not on the menu. Andy and Ali even offered to help set up.
