This place seems to cycle through restaurants every couple years, but hopefully Nori stays, because it's by far the best one to occupy this space. Came in for a late lunch and had the restaurant to myself. Decor is dark and simple, with low key, unidentifiable pop music. Much lower key than the former Tokyo Monster Sushi. I could go for some art on the walls, but it was fine. Chirashi bowl was $25 and comes with miso soup, and I was offered tea. The miso wasn't from scratch and was up to par. The chirashi was one of the better ones I've had in Seattle. The fish variety was better than expected and pieces (10 or 11 pieces, can't quite remember) were fresh, large, and well cut. The presentation was also tasteful. Service was polite and friendly. For what I received, the value was very good. It feels like you typically need to pick between high quality or a reasonable price when it comes to local sushi. Nori delivered on both. As mentioned before, I haven't been impressed by the previous tenants here. Nori turned that around and there's now another great sushi option in Maple Valley. I'll be back. read more

We liked everything about this place. We started with Deep Gyoza. I have never had them deep fried. Although one was cold in the middle, all the rest were absolutely wonderful. Off night perhaps? Sushi quality was not the same. I ordered two sushi deluxe s are normal for a takeout order. The cut of the fish was super scarce, like almost half the size of what it normally is. The rolls were awful constructive almost falling apart. Maybe it was someone new making the sushi I don't know. So look forward to the sushi but not tonight, was not completely satisfied, felt an emptiness unfortunately. Bummer was looking forward to a pick me up tonight. Not worth the $100 tonight! read more
