Decided to check this place out before a show at White River and I've heard adds for this in 99.9 for I don't know how long now. All I can say to Steve Miggs is there's a lot left to be desired there. The menu is very large, I guess like any Sushi restaurant. Our server was decent, but probably could have been a little better since we were pretty much the only people there. The edamame and gyozas that we started with were ok. Not sure what sauce came with the gyozas, but it was weird. Edamame had a healthy amount of salt on it. We ordered 3 rolls, this is where I guess for me the quality was kind of meh. Each sushi roll had a hefty amount of rice compared to toppings and innards. They do offer all you can eat at times and I guess this is how they fill you up. It's also very strange that they put all of the sushi on one plate. Not one roll that we ordered really stuck out either. I couldn't pick a favorite as they were all middle of the road. There also didn't seem to be a whole lot of variety in fish. The chicken karange however was very good. Perfectly cooked and very juicy. I'm glad we finally got to try this place, but this also solidifies why we don't try many different sushi places. read more

We thought we'd given up on Trappers based on our local location in Puyallup. It has just changed dramatically over the years. Not only price wise but quality, quantity & presentation. Luckily we saw that the Enumclaw location had better reviews and since we're there at lunch time and craving sushi we have it a shot. The place is small but in the cute historic area of town on one of the corners. We sat at the long bar for the all you can eat. Only a couple others eating at the time, soon after over 1/2 the place was full. Both our beverage /App sever & sushi chef were friendly and cheerful. We had sodas and apps served right away and sushi came out soon after. Everything looked as good as it tasted. We kept remarking how glad we gave this one a try. I was driving home and thought "I should call and order sushi so it's ready when I get there" but it was not to be. The message says to go to the website, which you can't do while you're driving. I tried every extension to get a person, all said no one was available. Begrudgingly I decided to stop in. After about 5 minutes nobody came up front to take an order so I left. I called Frankie's pizza who happily took my order and delivered a pizza in about 15 minutes. I won't waste my time with Trappers again. read more

Was excited to see a Trapper's open up in lil' ol' Enumclaw and went in the day after their grand opening for lunch. We ordered the tempura vegetables, Timmy, and Mt. Rainier. Tempura vegetables: Super yummy, fried to perfection (in my opinion), came with a good dipping sauce. Perfect for two people. Mt. Rainier: Exactly what I expected as I have ordered this at other Trapper's locations. Would recommend! Timmy: Pretty disappointed in this one.. When our roll came I immediately noticed the majority of the pieces were almost all rice despite the menu saying there should be 4 different types of fish inside. We let our server know and she seemed to agree with us and very quickly had them bring another one out. Their second attempt was valiant but still fell a bit short, half the roll was still very lack luster. They ended up removing the charge for this one completely. I get the restaurant just opened and they may have some kinks to iron out, but it was handled very well, removing only one star because of this. Our server Bobbi was great and very understanding! my family and I stopped by last night for dinner on grand opening night. we arrived around 4:30 which was perfect because by 5pm there was a bit of a wait. first our server was Sophie. she was super sweet and came by several times to make sure we didn't need anything. for our rolls we had: the mountain. I'd never tried this one before but my husband and daughter wanted to try it. it was good but not in my top 10 from trappers. it was my husbands favorite. the trapper: this is my 2nd favorite roll. I've been getting it for years. it was good and fresh. the Vader. this in my opinion is the best. it has crunch, so so so much flavor. the textures are perfect. it's the trapper on steroids. my husband and daughter split an order of gyoza and they enjoyed them as well. not even a crumb left. We came into Trapper's Sushi on their Saturday soft opening. We really like the Enumclaw location! Parking is easy because there is a large public parking lot in the heart of downtown, and the restaurant is only one block away. Trapper's Enumclaw is small to medium sized. I would recommend making a reservation to be on the safe side! Here is what we enjoyed: Trapper's Lemonade with Sake: this was a very sweet cocktail! The strawberry and sake were a great combination, and didn't overpower the lemonade. Bubbly Peach Sake-we split a bottle of sake bubbles to celebrate the occasion! I prefer my sake non bubbly, but had never tried it this way. Their sake choice complimented the food. We shared the Trapper's bites as an appetizer. Their imitation crab was great with the dip that they served. It was fresh, chewy and light and set the stage for the following sushi rolls: We loved this combination of four. They all worked so well together and could easily stand alone. Now we know what our go to's are! Samantha roll-this roll was a grilled lobster delight! This roll was hot, creamy and savory. The garlic and avocado really shone here. We also love that part of the proceeds of this roll go to charity! Rammy roll- This was a combo of shrimp and spice. These rolls were hot (as in spicy) and left a nice green onion aftertaste. We loved this. Tis the Salmon- out of the rolls we enjoyed, this was the most unique! I did not know that sushi could have cilantro and totally work until I had this roll. The highlights were the salmon and jalapeño followed by the taste of the cilantro. Monster Roll- The best part was the eel and the teriyaki sauce, but the whole roll came together nicely. Their teriyaki sauce is wonderful and tasted the strongest here. We also got two unagi as well because we do love eel! It was a pleasure to come during the soft opening. It was great to see them find their flow, and the waitstaff and kitchen were hard at work! When going to the back of the restaurant, you could see the chefs preparing the rolls in the open, and also see the fridges displaying the high quality and freshness of their fish. I was impressed by taste of ALL the rolls, as well as the details and the decor. While you wait or after you eat, there is so much to do in close proximity to their location. My kid and I like Trappers, my husband not so much. We convinced him to try the one in Enumclaw since we were in the area. Restaurant is clean and nice. We were seated immediately. Our waiter was friendly, but service seemed inconsistent. The restaurant wasn't that busy but the family that sat down after us had their order taken before us and got a lot of their food quickly. It seems the family knew the workers so maybe that's why? It took a while for us to get our food. We got a teriyaki plate and a few orders of sushi. When I ordered, I wanted a sushi cone. The waiter had no idea how to ring it up since it wasn't on the menu so he asked the sushi chef and said they would ring it up as one of the rolls. What in the world?? If you go anywhere sushi is served, they will gladly make you a cone and definitely not charge you for a regular roll. I ended up having to change what I wanted completely. We have ordered cones at other Trappers and they were able to accommodate similarly to other sushi places (charging less than $10 for one.. not the normal price of a full sushi roll). Since that was the case, I ended up getting two different rolls. Overall, it is definitely over priced. We spent over $100 for us. If service was a little more consistent and I went during a time they had a special (the 3 rolls for $33), I might recommend this place. read more

Friends brought me teriyaki takeout Monday night as I was ill and couldn't go with. I've eaten at the Enumclaw restaurant several times, and the food has been delicious! Unfortunately, when I opened my dinner it first appeared I had someone's leftovers, with a few pieces of chicken and ladle of rice dumped in. Upon further inspection, I decided I had been given dog scraps, totally unappetizing! My advice to anyone getting Trapper's takeout: Open the container and inspect the contents. This place is 11110000/10!! Not only did they make us smile. The food was magnificent! And my husband accidentally left his box at our table, one of the servers (can't remember his name but he is bubbly and has his hat backwards) ran down the street yelling "you forgot your box" and that was the absolute best thing I have ever seen at any restauran. this place was pretty good for doing ayce with eating only nigiri! the hostess was very kind in communicating wait times and trying to accommodate to our rather larger party during peak dinner hours. the only thing that we recommended to the general manager that was helping us was adding on a larger range of fish to the menu. everything we had was good, seared tuna being okayyy (don't think i was a fan of the seasoning around the sides), but a wider variety of fish options would definitely be a hit! surprisingly enough, the smoked salmon nigiri (not pictured oops) was so good i did not expect that and came in close second for yellowtail! i haven't tried their rolls this time around but it looks like there's a lot of variety! would prefer more fish inside rather than only crab though. overall if you see this place popping up around washington and now arizona (avondale area i think) the basic nigiri sushi is great! they also offer ayce for lunch (~$27) and dinner (~$37) so i can't even say how many plates of sashimi i had but definitely got my money's worth and rolled out of the store read more
