Okay pollo a la brasa. But I was impressed by their fast take out service (I ordered by phone, was told to pick up in 15 minutes. I arrived 18 minutes later, and everything was packed and waiting for me). I know times are tough with COVID. But their pollo a la brasa was dry and ate like it had been sitting under a heater for hours, despite picking it up shortly after noon (and within 5 minutes of the time they said the order would be done). The french fries were soggy (probably because they don't cut holes into the styrofoam, so they get steamed in transit). The salad was anemic at best. The sauces were not good at all. The green pepper sauce was okay, but the yellow sauce and the salad dressing were both essentially mayonnaise. I had hoped to get rice and beans instead of the french fries and salad (mainly because they transport better), but I was told that beans were not an option. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing? But I didn't want ceviche or lomo saltado to go. I think I'll stick to Cuenelli's, which gives the option of two different rices and two different beans as well as salad or fries as side dishes. They are located in the same mini mall as Cacciatore Brothers, so there is usually ample parking, but lots of foot traffic, so watch out while backing up. read more

I always get two dishes from Pervuian restaurants and they include Cerviche Pescado or Lomo Saltado. A.) I love their Cerviche Pescado even though for $16.26 - I do think they should use higher quality fish than Swa because their prices are a couple bucks more than what I typically pay. This time around, I asked for Spicy, which turned out to be Medium. B.) They added a nice touch by adding the Leche De Tigre in a plastic container, so the fish wouldn't "cook" too fast from the Tigre aka lime juices to marinate the fish; I ordered To Go during Covid-19 (few eating indoors) & it meant I wouldn't be able to eat it until I got home, so that was helpful. C.) LARGE SERVINGS They did include a lot of fish - enough to feed two, cancha (roasted corn), white potatoes (this confused me because sweet potato is better and was disappointed they had a shortage) & big pieces of cooked Pervuian corn is another delightful texture added to this dish. The inside is no frills - simple. The food is always so good that they have me addicted to their Cerviche on my side of town; I go to a different restaurant when I work in Westshore, but since I'm WFH for now, love supporting this place & grabbing bite to eat after work for dinner. read more

If you go to a sit down restaurant is to eat with your guest NOT to have them watch you eat. Out of the 6 dishes ordered, the last one we canceled because of the ridiculous delayed. It located off street from main road Hillsborough. If you come to shop at the Italian market next door, may be plan a visit. This restaurant is mom and pop shop. Some of the customers said they move from other place. Their rotisserie chicken has good marinated spice. I would said it is one of the better one in Bay Area. The chicken is well marinated to the bone. It is tender and juicy. The accompanying is the white rice and fresh salad. If they can improve these two items, they may be able to sell better. Flavor was 3.5/5, onions very tender still with a crunch, a lot of onions, lots of rice and sauce, french fries should have been at the bottom to soak all up the juice, at least thats how they serve it everywhere else i've eaten Peruvian Food, steak was for the most part like eating rubber bands, they use rrally low quality meat for it therefor if you are ready for your jaw to hurt half way through, go for it. I ordered the Lomo Saltado, the order that I received was very dry because the cook decided to put the French fries underneath the meat, which absorbed all the goodness and the meat ended up being very dry. The cashier was rude when I asked why the difference in price, from what she was charging me to the price that was on the website, (a $4-5 difference). Terrible food and service. We ordered a large order over 85 dollars. The 2 whole chickens we ordered were served very undercooked. They didn't send the salad so for 24.50 we got raw chicken and some fries. When we called the restaurant to complain about the chicken, they wanted us to come back the following day to pick up another order. We didn't have a car so we doordashed it and it wasn't an option to have gone and gotten another order. Plus we didn't want it. The rest of the food was not very good. Best Rotisserie Chicken, I've ever had! The spice they put on the chicken is just amazing, the chicken itself is roasted perfectly, the meat is juicy and tender, and portion size is good. We got two ¼ rotiserrie chickens with fries and salad. Comes with a mayo sauce but you don't need it, the chicken is so good by itself. There is decent amount of seating inside, about 10-15 tables plus stools at the countertop, and interestingly, when I looked around each and every customer in the place had a plate of roasted chicken in front of them. read more

Doesnt look like much from the outside, but lits of space inside the restaurant. Staff is polite, and the order came quickly. We ordered a Pollo entero (pollo la brasa, but the entire chicken) with sides of fries and salad. The sides were pretty basic...the fries were what you would have expected, and kind of bland unless you let them soak up the juices of the chicken, the salad was a basic american type side salad, also bland....would have much preferred the more typical salad served in Peru with Pollo la brasa (just lettuce, lime juice, salt and pepper)....the chicken is where this place shined.....i stop at every polleria i can find, and yo date this is the most authentic pollo la brasa i have found..the balance of seasoning to carbon flavor was perfect, and it was juicy. Only could be made better with some lime juice ( but this is personal preference and not a necessity) 4 stars and will visit again. read more

That's my favorite dish, I've travelled to Peru and had the authentic version and Norky's recipe is by far the closest to the taste of the authentic recipe in Peru. I always come here, it's the only place where I can find Papá Rellena. I love this spot, there chicken is delicious, and their green hot sause is to die for, I always bring some home when I visit. Nice spot to go eat, the only thing I don't like is that they charge the tip up front, and I never paid attention to this before, so I also left a tip on the table, but now I know, pay attention to you're receipts. This spot has inside dining.i love Peruvian food so i thought i would give it a try. They have almost learned to rotisserie chicken. It's not bad too bad once you avoid the undercooked portion. The "salad" was a little sliced lettuce, 1 tomato slice and a drizzle of dressing. The french fries were cold. Above all, the reason to avoid this place is the service, or lack thereof. I know some times things happen and it takes a while for the food to come out of the kitchen. 18 minutes from ordering to food on the table is a bit much. Trying to ask one if two waitress for a spoon when there are only 3 other tables shouldn't be so hard. It hurts my soul to give this place 4 stars. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the peruvian style rotisserie chicken (pollo a a la brasa) at Norkys. Everything else is just so inconsistent that I sometimes wish that every aspect of the restaurant apart from the pollo a la brasa would change. I discovered this place a couple of years ago when I was feeling home sick, I hadn't been back to Peru in a while and was in peruvian food withdrawal. In Peru there is a very popular chain of restaurants that specialize in pollo a la brasa called Norkys. There was no way they had a location in Tampa so I figured it was someone just borrowing the name. I risked it and have been going back regularly ever since. The peruvian dishes outside of the pollo a la brasa are just OK. I've tried a couple of things and nothing has come close to impressing me. The organization is HORRIBLE. They have a limited amount of chickens they sell a night and a lot of people call ahead and reserve them. I would say that 90% of the time when I call ahead and give them my name and number they lose my order. When I get there, they say they never got that order and only believe me when I show them my outgoing calls and the length of time I was on the phone with them. Ridiculous, i know. Sadly, sometimes when I get there, innocently thinking one has been set away for me, ALL the pollos are gone :'( !!! I've gone regularly for years and only once did they do something about losing my order (they gave me some free salchipapa in addition to my order for the trouble). Why do I go back? It's the best peruvian style rotisserie chicken I've had in all of Florida. I expect them to lose my order and I expect to wait a long time for them to make the chicken despite calling ahead. The chicken usually comes with salad and fries. Fries are great, not too crispy. It also comes with 2 sauces, the white one is a lime-y mayo-y sauce and the other is a green spicy sauce. I always ask for ketchup to go, not sure what kind they use or if they make it themselves but I really like it. Service if you eat there is decent...it's a really small restaurant and it's minimally decorated. On many occasions they'll have soccer on. I've even seen some of the restaurant guests put their phones on speaker to play songs they want to hear. read more

This has turned into my "go to" spot for "to go" food when we have family in town. Most of them beg to order from here every time they visit. I discovered this place years ago when I was walking by and smelled the most amazing aroma of their chicken cooking. It is the most enticing smell and reminds me of an open pit barbecue. We always get the rotisserie chicken with French fries (just had it again two days ago). It is quite possibly the best rotisserie chicken that I've ever had. Juicy and full of flavor with their marinate. Just make sure to get extra black mint sauce and mayonesa. Their anticuchos are also delicious and very tender. The only bad thing I have to say is that when they renovated and expanded some time ago, it seems like their quality started diminishing some around the same time frame. I'm not sure if it is under new ownership or whether they changed something in the kitchen but the food is just not quite the same as it was years ago. The chicken is a little drier and sometimes more inconsistent. That being said, they still remain at the top of my list for great chicken. read more

Great place for rotisserie chicken. There was only 1 place back home that served this type of chicken. That place closed recently so I didn't get a chance to try it. My fiancee's cousin took me here for dinner. He knows all the joints that has the grinds. We had the whole chicken that came with french fries and salad.
