Avocado with crabmeat salad - our all time favorite appetizer
    Larry G.

Things seem to have changed here and not for the better which is very sad as this has long been a favorite go-to of ours. Handwriting has been on the wall for some time. It is the little things I have noticed specifically including how many if not most of the wine racks are now empty including the beautiful wine room. And there seem to be too many new untrained servers - last night had to show ours how to open a bottle of wine and remind him that I needed a spoon to stir sugar in an espresso. What I paid corkage for, I have no idea and would have purchased something had things been better. Last night was also a major milestone night for us which I noted when we made the reservation. Not brought up on any way other than assigning us a brand new server. As for the food, the paella was OK, smaller than usual and the steak anticuchos de carne (steak on skewers with chimichurris sauce on the side) was not pleasing - actually very tough. I would love to see them regain the magic that brought us back so many times. However for now, this is no longer on our list of favorites to take friends and celebrate special occasions. :(

I stopped into Terra Sur Café with a friend, and what a wonderful surprise it turned out to be! I'm already excited to go back next time I'm in the area. We started with the ceviche sampler, which was fresh and delicious. We requested no spice, and they thoughtfully let us know in advance that one of the samplers still had a little kick to it--which it did--but it was still fantastic. We also shared the ribeye with pesto, and wow... absolutely delish on both accounts! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is great too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The outdoor patio is dog-friendly, which is a huge plus, and the inside dining room has a cute, cozy feel with white tablecloths that make it feel just a little special.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] For dessert, we tried the bread pudding. It was a different take than the traditional version, but it tasted great--especially with the vanilla ice cream melting over the top. Overall, an unexpected gem. Highly recommend!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Wonderful setting with a great atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was very pleasant and professional. I ordered the Guava Mama cocktail. Tasty with a rich guava flavor. The octopus was delicious. Our order of PAPA A LA HUANCAINA Boiled potatoes | Huancaina sauce was cold. Would taste better if they were hot. My main entree ordered was the PESCADO A LO MACHO Black grouper | Tomato base sauce | Coconut milk with Choice of: Mixed seafood or Shrimp. The mixed seafood or shrimp could not be served on the side nor was there a substitute available. I'm glad I did not make a fuss as I ended up sending back the dish. The grouper dish did not taste fresh. Having had grouper the day before this grouper was vastly different. My first bite tasted for lack of a better term "fishy ". It tasted more like cod. My cousin tasted it and agreed it was not good. Our server was great, she asked how it was and did not hesitate to replace the dish. I then ordered the Risotto with beef. The beef was perfectly cooked, the Risotto very cheesy. My cousin had the Risotto with shrimp and enjoyed it. Overall a pleasant birthday dinner with the exception of the grouper.

We dined Saturday night before Mother's Day...[[HIGHLIGHT]]it was crowded so we sat outdoors.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our food and service were excellent, when we go back, we'll dine inside, [[HIGHLIGHT]]they have a beautiful dining room and bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu is fabulous, we shared a steak and noodles dish, a chicken dish with rice and an incredible sushi appetizer! We paired dinner with a bottle of Bonanza Cabernet Sauvignon which was very fairly priced. Our server, Crystal S, was A+!

Late dinner to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. They were able to get us a table right away without a reservation (whoops). [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor was upscale and we were glad we'd opted to get a sitter for our toddler.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was a loud drunk lady and even worse we were seated right next to one of my least favorite coworkers (what are the chances), but of course these aren't knocks against the restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The lion's mane mushroom empanadas my wife got were excellent. Full of a earthy melted cheese and chunks of savory chewy mushroom, served with both a spicy pepper sauce and chimichurri. I went for another one of the specials, the street cart ceviche. Oh boy was this great. The raw red snapper was fresh, chilled, and brightly flavored with lemon juice and contrasted perfectly with the crispy, salty, hot calamari. I went back and forth between the two until I was stuffed, barely able to handle the creme brule cheesecake we split for dessert. A great meal that I quickly turned around and recommended to my friends. The best part? That coworker never even saw me.

We were serve a table without a reservation which was nice. The wait was not terrible. My wife enjoyed her drink I forgot the name of it. Sorry my old fashion was just ok. The waiter knew the menu very well very knowledgeable. Since it was like a date night situation we just had a few drinks and shared an appetizr empanada which was good it's different than your since most empanadas are either Caribbean. This is from Peru, so different texture different taste. They had a huge wine selection for those who enjoy drinking wine. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I seem to cater to an older crowd with a more refined pallet for wine.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had Tostones with chicken. The flavor and seasoning was spot on. I enjoyed it wet. It's a bit soupy however that's exactly how I like to eat this type of dish. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is a bit pricier than intended, but the ambience is very nice very well intimate style.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Executive summary: pricey, but good. This place is in a strip mall. Almost all the good restaurants in Anchorage are in strip malls, so no hate from me! The cocktail menu is fun and splashy. They have lots of great-looking food. The prices are all just really high though, especially for Tampa. I got the Anticuchos de Carne, and it was incredible. Meat was cooked to my liking, the veggies were fresh, and the house made sauces were spicy! I'd recommend ordering from the restaurant next door though (same owners), the prices are much more reasonable.

We live nearby so decided to finally give it a shot. Quickly made reservations online for 3 for a Friday night but I think we would've been okay without one. Service was great and I love Peruvian cousine. The lomo was delicious... we would definitely be back.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is amazing, inside or outside is lovely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]With my mom, we sat outside and the weather was perfect.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Jennifer was our server, she was very friendly, quickly and attentive. We had churrascos and were amazing, well seasoned. We love this place.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Place is very nice, ambiance is warm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service is friendly. The food mediocre. No flavor. No resemblance to Peruvian food.

We enjoyed a lovely birthday dinner for my partner at Terra Sur. While service felt a bit rushed, despite us being seated during a quiet hour, our server was able to answer most questions and made some nice recommendations. Out of all the dishes, we especially enjoyed the beef heart skewers with a trio of dipping sauces. Most of the food was under salted, although still bursting with flavor. Can't wait to try more items the next visit!

    Parihuela
    Carrie F.

Everything put on the table was worth ordering again...and again! We started with cocktails and wine, the mushroom empanada special, ceviche sampler, and the Tequeños y Yuquitas. That first course was enough for a meal for 3 people, but we were celebrating so we then ordered the parihuela (seafood bouillabaisse), Risotto de Camarones, and Terra Sur salad to share. Another round of drinks...I was a fan of their house old fashioned but my friends enjoyed the selection of South American wines on hand. We ended our evening sharing the Bread Pudding bites with ice cream and a nice cup of coffee. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Our only complaint was how close we were seated to others, but some strategic shifts would make the dining experience feel less community table and more comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The wine room looked lovely and a private tasting was starting when we were wrapping up our evening.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will be back- we have more dishes to try- especially the paella and tostones con carne!

So many nautical nods in the decor-rustic coastal-in sort of an 80s/90s way (love). You can almost taste salt in the air-you expect the Gorton's fisherman to walk in. Yes, I could settle in here for a while. And I did. There are chalkboard drink choices on the walls-and a large menu. Happy hour and daily specials add to the options. I asked my friendly and helpful server to help me choose. She was spot on. The onion rings basket was a thing of true beauty. That batter is incredible-so light, so melts-in-mouth good. I'd go back for them alone. (and to try the hush puppies and fried green tomatoes) But then came the main event: a gorgeous piece of fried haddock that hung wayyyy off the bun on both sides-and loads of tasty fries. I swapped out coleslaw for green beans. What a feast! This is a lot of food! And every bit of it was really tasty. The haddock was huge-and so well cooked. It was tender-flaky-with another light batter, that complimented the fish perfectly. I ditched the bun and ate it with a knife and fork. It was just yummy. The fries had a good crunch to them and the bowl of green beans was deep. This is a massive value for money! Oh! And the margarita was good, too! A little tangy-I like that! (There's a full bar area, if you care to belly up) My sweet server was easy to talk to and super efficient. She knows the menu inside and out-and reads her customers well and early. The restaurant was cozy and comfy-it's a casual spot, but well tended and very clean. You really do forget that the busy world is right outside the door. There's tons of parking, but beware on super rainy days-there are low spots in that lot. The water came up fast while I was there and another server warned us to check our vehicles and move them, if needed. I decided to make a dash for it-so didn't get all the pics I wanted-but that's just another reason (along with the scrod and the mahi taco, etc etc) to go back. The Great Catch is a great choice. You can trust the Gorton's fisherman!

You are looking at spending at least $98 for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids, no matter which restaurant you go to - it seems like the market does a good job at leveling the pricing competition between these restaurants. Crafty Crab is located essentially smack-dab in the center of Grand Plaza of the Carrollwood area. Although we didn't have issues with finding parking around 6-7pm on a Tuesday evening, the plaza can get quite busy with one row of parking on each side of a two-way lane that parallels the plaza. As we walked into Crafty Crab, it did have a cleaner feel and presentation compared to another local boil spot. Our waiter/server was great and extremely patient with us as we contemplated our choices. He continued with the positive energy throughout the service which made our experience at Crafty Crab rather nice. ***Not sure if it was standard practice, but he offered to empty the boil bag onto the aluminum tray (compared to leaving it in the bag) as an option which made navigating the morsels easier in my opinion. It also made for saucing the steam rice easier - just slap that jawn onto the tray, mix, and enjoy.*** What I enjoyed about Crafty Crab, is that they seem to offer better combinations when it came to the seafood deals. Dungeness crab is our staple, and they had a great combo that pair Dungeness crab with snow crab and headless shrimp. The fried calamari came with not only marinara, but also a spicy-mayo-wasabi sauce that slapped. Overall, you can't go wrong with Crafty Crab if you're looking for your Cajun boil fix!

Back in October, I made a reservation for 20 people for a January dinner to celebrate my dad's birthday. I had heard the week before that Max sold the restaurant, but at that point it was too late to find another place that could accommodate such a large group. Our reservation was at 4:00 pm. When I walked in at 4:03 with my son, there was a man standing by the pizza oven on his cell phone. I initially thought he was a customer waiting for food since there was no acknowledgment at all. After a few minutes, a couple of cooks walked out, looked at us, and said nothing. The man continued texting and then, very coldly, asked, "How can I help you?" I told him I was there for the party of 20, and he responded, "They're in the back," with no warmth or professionalism. As someone who worked in the restaurant industry for over a decade, I was honestly shocked by the greeting. Once seated, I informed our server that both my brother and I have celiac disease and that eating gluten-free is a serious medical necessity. Normally, servers acknowledge this and reassure guests that they'll speak with the kitchen. Instead, she said nothing and walked away while I was still speaking. The appetizers were fine, but the main courses were extremely disappointing. I ordered the gluten-free veal marsala, a dish I've had countless times at Nabruzzi over the years. This was easily one of the worst versions I've ever had...completely bland, with large chunks of garlic instead of properly minced, and so unappetizing I couldn't finish it. My husband ordered the pollo florentine and described it as something our four-year-old could have made. The presentation was equally poor; the food looked like it had simply been thrown onto the plates. The server never once checked on us after the food was delivered, which should happen within the first few bites. I also brought a birthday cake for my dad, and it was served before all the dinner plates were cleared. As we were leaving, the owner simply said, "Have a good one." It's clear that the new owner has little to no experience in the restaurant or service industry, which is incredibly disappointing. Nabruzzi was once a warm, friendly Italian restaurant and a hidden gem in Lutz...a place our family truly loved and visited often because it felt welcoming and close to home. Sadly, after this experience, we will not be returning.
