Longwood, Florida is a very cozy little town. My partner and I stopped by Pho Ben Thanh last week and we pleasantly surprised. Since we were hungry we ordered the Shrimp and Pork Spring Rolls and both were very fresh and tasty. But it was the warm peanut sauce that accompanied the rolls that was the real star, We also order the steamed pot stickers and the half dozen that came with the dish were very good as well as the sauce that accompanied this dish. I ordered the Pork Belly with Egg and Rice which was sensational and my partner ordered the pork vermicelli bowl. Both were as good or better than we've had at other Vietnamese places in Central Florida. The bathroom was also very clean and fresh smelling. Nothing can ruin a nice meal than having a nasty bathroom, Happy to report that there is nothing to worry about in this regard. The restaurant is located in a strip mall and, with very reasonable prices, the entrees were $13.99 and very well worth it, Pho Ben Thanh is certainly worth a try if you find yourself in Longwood. read more

My husband's been raving about this place forever and now I get it. He always gets the pho (huge, hot, flavorful, he's obsessed) but I finally tried it for myself and wow. I got the pork belly plate and it was insane (actual name on menu is Thit Ba Roi Chay Toi Plate) The meat was super tender with this sweet caramel glaze, paired with rice, a fried egg, and a fresh little salad. They brought out a broth and this tangy vinegar sauce that added the perfect umami kick. I also had the coconut boba with strawberry pearls and it tasted like a piña colada. 10/10. Food was just ok, coming from New Orleans where there is an abundance of great Vietnamese restaurants, the food we had was not anything special. What was really disappointing was the level of service and the issues in ordering from their menu through Door Dash. 1. We ordered shrimp fried rice and received beef fried rice. 2. We ordered a Thai iced tea and a Taro iced tea but when I went to pick up the order, we were missing the Thai iced tea. The fried rice showed up on their screen as beef fried rice but then showed "shrimp" directly below the fried rice line, and the Thai iced tea was missing from their screen. I showed them our door dash confirmation and what we paid, and instead of correcting the order on their side based on our order confirmation, the elderly woman at the counter said she can make the Thai iced tea but we would have to pay, and was dismissive on the fried rice discrepancy. I got the steak noodle soup and it was SO good. Exactly what I needed. Food was very affordable, delicious and the ambiance was very chill and simple. The only negative feedback I have is that they don't offer a low sodium broth option which is helpful for people with medical conditions that want to enjoy pho. She didn't know how much sodium was in their broth either but so far my body hasn't reacted negatively so it might not be as high in sodium as expected, I also skipped adding too much sauce to help me keep it as low as possible. Terrible service DO NOT COME HERE!!! So my Mom & Dad ordered takeout from this restaurant. We've had their food before but this time when their meals were made, (took an extra 20 minutes with no customers) their food was horribly prepared. I had high hopes for this place since there is so much great Vietnamese food in the Orlando area. There were incorrect items in my order (Pork Bún instead of Shrimp Bún), missing/substituted items (More Pork Bún instead of Bún Rieu Soup), and overall low quality of the food. I ended up placing a separate order of Chicken Pho since I did not receive the Bún Rieu Soup I ordered and it was some of the strangest and most flavorless Pho I have ever had. It had raw cauliflower and broccoli in it (?), overcooked strips of chicken and what seemed like cheap store bought chicken broth. If you are looking for good Vietnamese food I would recommend taking a trip over to Colonial Dr. in Orlando and eating at any of the Vietnamese Restaurants over there. I am a huge fan of pho and this place did not disappoint. The broth, which is the foundation for great pho, had the complexity that only comes from the proper time consuming method of creating the broth. The ingredients were also on point. I love to make my pho fiery, so my broth is usually a dark red by the time that I am done adding the hot stuff to my pho. The service was very good. They were professional and friendly and my food was brought to me in a relatively quick manner. All in all, this was a great dining experience and one that I will give five stars for. Great find in Longwood! With few options for Viet north of the viet town near downtown. You get a great selection of classic favorites and authentic viet dishes. I tried the Bun Bo Hue and the Pork Rice Platter. The soup was a little saltier to my preference and the nuoc mam was too sweet for my taste, which made the rice platter dish very sweet. The summer rolls were huge! Always appreciate when the size of these are well worth the price and it came along with the great taste. The Bahn mi though was my favorite. I ate it all before I could take a picture! I enjoyed the baguette they used. If I could recommend that they use a little more daikon to cut through all the sweetness in the marinated meat, it would be 10/10 perfect! read more

Came here after work with a coworker on empty stomachs absolutely starving, and let me tell you we were not disappointed!!! The only thing I will say it is warm in there so dress accordingly, but that did not stop us from having a wonderful experience!!! We arrived close to 8 PM and there was only one table with people sitting and eating. This restaurant is located in a strip mall that looks like it's about to go under and be developed into something else. Needless to say 75% of the store fronts were empty. The server/manager/owner is very nice I got everything we needed quickly. We ordered chicken wings and they were basically plain, fried chicken wings with no sauce. We ordered sweet chili sauce and they brought that out promptly and we proceeded to add some of the garlic chili paste to it. What was a little gross was that the condiment station look like it hadn't been dusted or cleaned in years. We forged ahead and ate the super cauldron smoking hot wings. We knew that we would not get sick given how hot they were. Within ordered some grilled pork summer rolls forgetting that meant that it was cold noodles with a wafer thin slice of grilled pork and then mostly vermicelli rice noodles and lettuce. The peanut sauce that came with the rolls was very nice. It was light brown in color, thick, with great peanut flavor and was not cloyingly sweet the way it can't be at some places. We had beef stew with egg noodles not realizing that what came out was basically a big bowl of soup with chunks, more correctly described as cubes of tender beef. The beef "stew" however was nothing like we expected. We also ordered the pork bun (boon) and the eggroll was fabulous - we wish we had ordered a whole plate of those. It was narrow, crispy and had great flavor. Lastly we ordered chicken fried rice to see how they did that as a barometer of the food. It was so bland we couldn't believe it. We were looking for salt and couldn't find it because it was hidden behind my purse, we added some of the basil leaves that came with the beef stew and that helped. Not sure this place will survive. Perhaps in a more crowded mall with some feedback they could improve the flavor, or maybe people in this area just don't know what good Vietnamese can taste like because it was pretty much lacking in flavor. read more

It's hard to find good Pho outside of Mills50/Little Vietnam area. And if those spots are your benchmark for good Pho, Pho Ben Thanh may be a bit of a disappointment. If you crave Pho and can't make the drive near downtown Orlando, then this restaurant might be just enough to hit the spot for your vietnamese cravings. Their pho has all the right freshness and properly cooked vegetables, noodles, and broth, but lacked the depth of flavor. Their best dishes seem to be their grill options for their meats. For my vegetarian friends, they have my favorite tofu lemongrass, but it's not quite prepared the same. Their version is not fried with chilis, and the tofu seems like it was "pre-fried" It comes in a combo with seaweed and soft tofu soup, which tasted like the miso soup you would get in Japanese restaurants. The place doesn't seem to get busy, and they only had one server. He is friendly enough, but not engaged in his interaction with the customers. We had to ask for waters and utensils while our food came in various times. They seem to get a good amount of takeout orders. Overall, my experience left me feeling very generic. Love this place. I constantly get take out from them. I order online or call it in with the item number I want. I always order the P2. (Pho Ga). This is the chicken pho. They pack the food so well. They separate the broth from the noodles so that they don't get soggy. They even bag the broth just in case it spills. I definitely recommend ordering food to go there. As the for the quality of the food, it is also great! Great portion size, and the chicken is always tender. I love how much noodles and veggies they give you too. Ordered Bun Bo Hue and Ca kho via UberEats. They didn't have any ca kho, but didn't take it off the order and still charged me for it. Bun bo hue had thin slices of pork and beef like you'd use for hu tieu, not the typical tendon, pork hock, or beef shank. It came with bean sprouts and jalapeños with 3 leaves of Thai basil. Usually for bun bo hue you would have shredded lettuce and thinly slice banana root blossom. Pretty disappointing honestly. Family owned Mom & Pop restaurant with very delicious and authentic Pho, Spring Rolls, Broken rice (with pork, fried egg, pickled veg, etc) entree. Great menu selection. Of note, they have some items on the chefs special menu which require a 30 minute notice. These items include their salt and pepper fried chicken wings, and their hot pots. Hot pots run about $50 and feed 2 to 4 people. Will have to return to try this. We tried a rice dish, a vermicelli noodle bowl, and the Phô. See pictures. All the items we tried were very good. The seafood ginger salad was in my opinion, the star. It had a very light ginger dressing and was full of seafood and fresh vegetables. Absolutely delicious. Vietnamese iced coffee was strong and flavorful. They also have a selection of other drinks including tea and shakes with Boba. Prices for dishes were slightly inflated, but there was a lot of food. I've had the pho here a few times now and it has hit every time! The owner is short with replies and super appreciative of your business. I ordered out thrice and had doordash deliver today all with great results. I always get the seafood pho with added veggies. He accommodates and requests I make for additional condiments.
