We are the hornet bees next stock in one of our exhaust vents. Since late fall. I found Norman's information online and reached to him for a resolution. He promptly stopped by and let us know that we will need to wait until winter for the bees to die so that he can clean it up. I don't know what country Normen's heritage is from, or what native language he speaks, but I'm pretty sure that "Normen" is the word for "Angel of Goodness, Kindness, and Unbridled Customer Service" in his mother tongue. I gotta tell you a story. As a chubby guy that is trying to lose weight, I'm very used to being sweaty with damp and stinky clothes.. but a few weeks ago, something was... different about the funk in the upstairs of our house. Was I exercising too much? Why was my clothes smelling like mildew and sour cheese? I followed my nose and identified the problem: our WASHER DRYER MACHINE was overflowing with CLOUDS of lint, EVERYWHERE! We naturally thought that our dryer vent needed a cleaning so we were recommended by Reddit that Normen was the guy to call. And boy, am I glad we did! He showed up at his earliest availability and got to work immediately. No fluff, no salesmanship, no big song and dance. Within 11 seconds he diagnosed our problem: the vent tube was split wide open from the guys who installed our machine 6 weeks ago from Costco. I had a problem with birds moving into my dryer vent, and even after my HOA cleared out the nest, they kept coming back, so my HOA put a wire mesh over my vent to prevent them for entering. I felt like I still heard them, and my dryer was drying a little slow, so I called Normen based off of great reviews both on Yelp and on my neighborhood's Facebook group. He told me that having the mesh covering was dangerous in case that got blocked up, so he removed it and installed a better cover that would prevent birds from coming in, while also providing adequate air flow. We are new to home maintenance and only recently did I realize we needed to have the dryer vents cleaned. He was patient with us in describing how to maintain the dryer, what to look out for, and what the condition was before he came. We recently moved into our townhome and decided to have our dryer vent cleaned. The dryer is on the second floor, about 20 feet from the exterior -- not a DYI job! We contacted Normen's Air Duct Services and were able to schedule an appointment that week. Norman and his helper showed up on time and immediately got to work. Clearly the duct had not been cleaned in many years but Norman was able to quickly clear out the clogged duct (Shown in the photo). They replaced a broken vent flap and cleaned up all the dryer dust at a reasonable price. We were shocked at the lint build up and consider ourselves lucky that we didn't have a lint fire. Normen and his crew were absolutely the best! I now know why they have earned so many 5-star reviews. They arrived on time (5 minutes earlier) and thoroughly checked the dryer and the vent before working. Normen first cleaned the vent screen on the outside, and then moved on to the inside--he cleaned around the dryer screen inside the equipment, which the other company refused to do. Then, he moved the dryer from our tight closet to detach the vent duct and used the rotary brush to dislodge the lint and vacuum it at the same time so it did not create a mess. Before leaving, he told me that I need to keep my vent screen clean all the time so it won't block the air flow. He noticed that the vent screen was deteriorating and replaced it with a new one with no charge! He showed genuine care for his clients and went above and beyond. I cannot be more pleased. Wow - these 5-star reviews did not disappoint. Just moved to a new home and after a couple of loads, our dryer notified us with an error code that our dryer vent was blocked. I contacted Normen (after hours) and left a message. The next day, a lady (who was very polite) called and we were able to schedule an appointment for the following week. On our appointment day, Normen called two hours before the scheduled time and asked if it would be alright to stop by earlier. He told me his estimated arrival time and that he was on the way. He and Sergei arrived, and took off their shoes (wow) before entering the house. He inspected my dryer vents and tubes and even removed part of the pipe that could have contributed to the issue.
