I needed to have a professional person check my furnace as I came home to a horrible smell in my house. When I checked my co meter it read 55. I was not sure if that was a safe number so I called 911. Both police and fire departments showed up. While on the phone with dispatch I was informed that I needed to get out of the house and not to go back in. I was told by fire personnel that I needed to have a certified person to check it first thing in the morning. Norm showed up and was very professional..I am very impressed. He was reasonable, he didn't overcharge me for the work he did. He is now my new furnace person. I would definitely recommend him to others in need. read more

Norm came to install a new furnace for us which is being paid for by Farm Worker, (Fuel Assistance program). We are seniors and not on public assistance but we quialify for fuel asst.. Our old furnace's blower's bearings burned and the previous oil company's service man had no way of getting the blower assembly out due to the chimney being too close. So the FW manager had a burner service Co. come and check the furnace, they said it would be better to have a new burner installed instead of putting money into the old one. We went through winter with gravity heat, waited until spring. We were told May or June when the funds were in, we would get a new furnace. FW sent 3 different burner service companies here to make their bids. They accept the middle bid. while 2 of them had a middle bid. But a few months later Norm called from Norm's Oil Burner Service saying he got the job. He mentioned the emergency switch had to be moved from the side entry way as it wasn't code. Our house was hit by a huge tree during the June 1, 2011 tornado and condemned. The house was repaired, electricity, plumbing and framing were all re-done according to code and inspected. I called the contractor and the electrician who worked on the house about the switch, The electrician called Norm to tell him all about the wiring and told him to do his job and then if the switch had to be moved, he would come here and move it. Then Norm said he would order the furnace. Didn't hear back from him, so I called him and he said things were hectic. By this time my husband was diagnosed with cancer and had appointments and started Chemo, making it hard to arrange at first a specific date for him to come here. I called the manager from FW to ask when and if Norm was going to come for the furnace, so he called him. I got a call the next day from him saying he would be here on Tuesday. He came and wasn't pleasant to me at all. He made a mess which I cleaned the first day outside and in the cellar. He took out the old furnace and said he would be back after disposing it. He did come back with the new furnace and had a hard time bringing it in by himself. he should have had help. Before he went out with the old furnace, I started to remove the screws from the railing on the stairway wall. He said he didn't measure but if the furnace wouldn't fit, he would remove it. This was a new railing put in by the contractors in 2012. After removing the old furnace which he had no trouble doing with the railing in place, he started to bring in the new one. He had trouble, he cut his finger, then came back and struggled. Banging the wall, (he said he hit his head), and finally got it downstairs. After working on the furnace, he gathered up his things and said he'd be back Wednesday morning. He did arrive and worked on the furnace all day, I know he was tired, but he was rude to me every time I tried to talk to him. Like he didn't want to talk to a woman. When he was leaving, I mentioned the railing being slightly damaged, He looked and said he didn't do that, and he said he took pictures. I said it was an accident and it was new. He went to his truck and slammed the sliding door saying "Your something else Lady" and eventually drove away. It was an accident, and if he took pictures he would see it wasn't damaged before he worked here. We're not welfare people and I don't have trouble with any service person coming here in all the years I've owned this house. He may be a good business person but not a good people person. I'm happy he did install the new furnace as we do need the heat with the coming winter. I don't like complaining but feel like his attitude was because I was a woman or because it was Fuel Assistance ordering the work. Agway Oil Co. put in my old furncae and always had them service it until Punderson Oil took over their business, Punderson went out of business. So it was hard to get another reliable oil co. to depend on for service. My new oil company will be servicing our new furnace this season. I'm upset over the crude personality I dealt with these past 2 days. Extremely thankful I received the new furnace. read more

First and foremost, websites like these should be limited to restaurants, not the service industry. While the concept is great, unfortunately there are people out there who use them for the wrong purposes. I agree that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, which is great when it comes to tastes, but there is a difference between opinion and down right slanderous lies, which is 100% illegal. Let it be known, I began my career with Norm 7 years ago. I continued to work with him up until just a few months ago when I took my career to the next level and began to work for a commercial heating company. I barely knew how to use a screwdriver when I began with him. I now install and service many of the heating systems in the hospitals you visit and schools your children attend. I owe every bit of that to Norm. I could write until my fingers fall off of the amazing person this guy is, but I will keep strictly to the business side of things. Over the 7 years I worked for Norm, I was on well over 1,000 job sites. I NEVER saw him treat anyone the way this man is accusing him of. That is not the type of person Norm is. We have worked 16 hour days, gone on service calls, and have fixed units FREE of charge for elderly persons. THAT is the type of person Norm is. We have given up holidays with our families to brig heat to those without. THAT is the type of person Norm is. Over the years we have done work for every type of person imaginable. There are good, and there are bad. Unfortunately there are a lot of contracts we received through the state for some really awful, self entitled people who feel as though the world owes them everything, and shouldn't have to do a thing to contribute back to society. Norm was always professional. He never bashed or talked down to anyone. He is also strong minded enough to know where to draw the line. He is contracted through the state to perform a certain task, and while he is always willing to go the extra mile, there is a difference between going above and beyond, and being used. I guarantee any paying customer would be willing to attest to his incredible ethic, as well as 99.9% of his fuel assistance clients. As I said, unfortunately there are just some ugly people out there. It's sad that it's usually the vindictive people who take to these sites. As far as knowledge, he has been in the business for 20 years and he knows his stuff. His prices are competitive, and his work is always above par. This is coming from a person who has had the pleasure of working by his side for a very long time. Not some bitter, immature person who doesn't take kindly to the word "No". lets get the facts straight, i was not there to remove the boiler. i was trere to remove an ileagle wood stove that he had hooked to his heating system.my son was not with me nor did i threaten him with an asset check. it is a total fabrication. your father was not paying for this service the state was. you were not there to hear your fathers rant and ethnic slurs about the people who he says were sucking the system dry.but yet he wanted me to do work and charge the state for something i was not contracted to do.maybe if you were there you could said hey dad relax but you were not.your father wanted something for nothing and he did not get it. and he was pissed that i told him i wouldnt bill the state for something i was not told to do. such as to move a 1500 lb boiler by myself so he could sell it on ebay.again what he told you was a total fabrication. but hey, i guess the apple dosent fall far from the tree. read more
