I was told by the salesman, Travis, that I would get a $700 Rebate from OPPD and a $212 Rebate from the local Sheet Metals Union. It has now been approximately 2 and a half months of waiting for those Rebates. After calls a month ago and today, I was told that the system that Controlled Comfort installed does not qualify for the OPPD Rebate, even though the salesman, Travis, assured me I would get that $700 rebate as part of his sells pitch. I'm still supposed to receive the $212 rebate from the Sheet Metals Union folks who don't seem to be interested in timely Rebates. Overall, I have been satisfied with my service from Controlled Comfort. I was a little reluctant to believe the salesman, Travis, when he told me about the $700 Rebate, it seemed a bit like a con sells pitch. I would suggest you request a different salesperson. One other complaint I have is they added a charge of $800 dollars to the system to install a chimney vent. I believe Travis should have included that in the original sales pitch. We have been using the previous furnace without a chimney vent. $800 seemed excessive for that chimney vent for what they installed, and it did not take that long to do that installation - I understand the City Code might have required that now in an older house, but that was another expense that Travis should have included in the original sales.

They falsely claimed her furnace had a crack and submitted photos of a completely different unit. Their estimate was more than $4,000 higher than the cost of a new furnace. When questioned by the warranty company, they stopped responding entirely. Another licensed HVAC company inspected the system and confirmed it only required an $80 repair -- not a full replacement. Hang on kids, we're going for a ride…read more Install for new AC and furnace. Guys are super friendly, polite, and answer all of my questions. One guy shows me pictures of his dog - awesome. Later that night I notice water dripping from the humidifier down the side of my furnace. I call and the on-call guy walks me though how to stop it. The next day, a service guy comes out and tells me that the install guys forgot the condensation hose that connects the humidifier to the drain pipe. He connects a hose and tells me I'm good to go. He too shows me pictures of his dog - lovely. The next morning, the rug next to my furnace is wet - the drainage pipe is leaking. I call again and the same service guy comes out and tells me the install guys didn't glue the drainage pipe pieces together. He glues them together and I point out that it looks like it's still leaking. He tells me it's just water from when he took it apart and leaves. About half hour later I look, and sure enough there's a puddle. I call him and he says he'll turn around and come back. He does and tells me a thingamajig wasn't tightened at the bottom and NOW we're good. (Note: I had to leave work early twice for this.) A few days later the electrician and a guy doing something with the gas line come out. Again, super friendly and polite. A couple hours later I notice it's getting toasty in my house. Thermostat reads 77 and there's a yellow triangle symbol with an exclamation point, that when I click on it says, "Communication Error, " to not try and fix it myself, and to contact my dealer. So I call. Again. On-call guy walks me through a reset that doesn't work, so he comes out, only to find they didn't flip the power to my AC back on. He apologized and said their notes showed they checked everything was working before leaving, which clearly wasn't true. The final part of their installation service is called "commissioning". I have a text message stating my appointment is on Friday, May 16, between 3 and 3:30. I leave work early, arrive home at 3, and shortly after 3:30 call to get an ETA. I am told my appointment is for the following Monday at the same time. I look at my work schedule and confirm I can make it work between appointments IF he can be there right at 3. Commissioning guy is right on time, fully explained my new unit and thermostat, and made adjustments to optimize it to my home. He was very helpful and even fixed an issue I was having with my front door, which obviously, was completely unrelated to his visit. Overall, I'm satisfied.. A very annoying and inconvenient start, but they are prompt with fixing issues. I also like their service plan (free for the first year) and that it includes every 6 months maintenance and a furnace filter.

I was having a plumbing emergency and needed help. Getzschman said they could help and sent a plumber to me right away. Dylan was a great help. He was polite, thoughtful, diligent, and focused. He had it fixed a short amount of time, and the price was reasonable too. It was just like in the old days when people took pride in their work and they treated you great too.
