I ate here for breakfast after a stay in the hotel. The restaurant looks fairly new and has a smattering of TVs around the area. I was traveling alone but noticed a couple families comfortably seated and enjoying their meals. The breakfast food was pretty good, nothing crazy. I suspect this restaurant has more to offer for lunch and dinner but I was out and about at those times. read more

late night walking around Boston after walking around Boston all day and the realization we've not eaten except eggs and meats and toasts and fruits at breakfast so victuals are high on the list of things to get followed by home - actually Tina's place but whatever... so around the corner and across the street from the sideshow that is Faneuil Hall we find some tables outside a bar and ask for menus and a jug of water. decided on oysters (tina always eats well on my dime) lobster roll for MLB, and a burger and fries for me because the other thing I wanted (fish and chips?) was not available. no complaints about any of it except maybe was a little steep but it was late and the bar is attached to a hotel and it's Boston and not at all out of line all things considered. service was warm and efficient and we were never left wanting attention or coffee for me. the portions were fair and my burger came out extra medium just like I like it with substantial fries to boot! plank fries suitable for seafaring, you could almost walk these if you had to. no complaints from the ladies, just muted sounds of tastinesses amid the small talk. so yeah, I'd eat here again. read more

Then we had tax charged to the food and drink so it was different price than the menu - of then more tax with no explanation- we were told city tax. Then put that on the check. This was my first time in Boston and my friend selected this restaurant for brunch. The only great thing was that the staff was very apologetic and were understanding of our experience. We made a reservation for 10:45 and were seated about 10 minutes after. They were short staffed it seemed as they handed us menus but it took them another 10 minutes just to get water for our table. The table next to us was seated after us and got their drinks and food before us. When our waitress came over she did state they were short staffed but spent several times coming back over to re-do our drink orders or that she needed clarification. The coffee mugs were 4 oz. so our group was constantly needing refills. They did not have avocado toast that I ordered so I got a breakfast sandwich that came out later than everyone else's. They did comp my meal as well as take 20% off my friend's bill as well which was great. But overall, it seemed that the prices were too steep and the food wasn't worth the wait. I watched multiple people come in and leave upon learning this and I myself then followed suit. Had a great brunch here today before leaving Boston and was not disappointed! Our waitress was a doll. She knew we were starving and brought us warm bread. She was on her first day there and did a great job. My hubby had the turkey panini with salad instead of fries. I had the tuscan sunrise sandwich served with home fries. Was staying at the Bostonian, so we were enticed by the Lobster Benedict offering. The staff seemed stressed and short staffed but were friendly and got to us as soon as they could. Food was quick 4 stars, the bartender was friendly and kept our mimosas full 4 stars, minus stars for auto adding 20% tip and not telling us. I ended up leaving another 25% because I didn't realize that was their policy. It feels very shady and I got ripped off, not a nice feeling to leave with. If adding Auto Gratuity is your policy, fine, but it needs to be clearly circled and/or verbaled to the guest. Unless your in the business of ripping people off, then by all means keep doing what you are doing! read more

Came here for lunch Thursday to get the lobster special. It was $20 for a 1.5 lb. Lobster, corn on the cob, potatoes, and a cup of their clam chowder. You do have to purchase a drink, which, was no big deal to us hahah. It was a great deal and I would definitely come back for it. The service was a tad bit slow but our server was nice. We were definitely the oddballs last night at North 26 (we were too hyped), the presentation was vibrant and beautiful! On top of that, each bite was BURSTING with flavor! I was surprised they had such low reviews, but I took my chances during the Dine Out (Boston Restaurant) Week deals. For $38, you can have a 3 course meal. This place is also perfect for Romantic Dates! For appetizers, the Lobster Brisque looks small and unfilling, but boy, it packed a whallop. Even the aroma is strong enough to get to you. We savored it as long as possible and used it as dipping for the bread. It was a tie between our entrees, but I'd say if you want to eat sushi without seaweed and bite size rolls, the Blue Fin's the closest to it. My Pan-Seared Scallops and Shrimps was well decorated with very addicting puree and sauces. Not a fan of the veggies underneath though. The Molten Cake is easily the winner because it's light and small, compared to the giant Boston Cream Pie I ordered. Also, I'm not a fan of the cinnamon. read more

Seemed like a nice place to grab some late night food after getting in to Boston. We got there around 10 order a beer, chicken skewers, zucchini chips and beef sliders. 20 minutes later, no drinks the waitress comes back and says the computer went down so we have to reorder. We order again and my girl asks for a glass of wine instead of a beer. Another 20-25 minutes go by and the waitress brings us a full sized burger that we didn't even order. We ask about the wine and she says it's coming. Another few minutes go by and I decide to go up to the bar and ask the server about the wine in front of the bartender and other staff. A few minutes later we finally get the wine. The waitress promises us to take an item off our bill and bring us a couple of lemon drop shots for the wait. The bartender personally brings us over a couple shots that were a good size and delicious. Unfortunately at this point I'm frustrated because we hadn't gotten our food and have a very strong belief the waitress (Hispanic lady with nose ring) is intoxicated on something because she's literally slurring her words and being extremely strange and forgetful. She would make comments like " So I was about to leave $40 on the table to cover the glass of wine and burger we ate, but didn't order when out comes the rest of the food about an hour after we sat down. The food was great, the sliders were so soft and flavorful, the chicken skewers were perfectly cooked and marinated in this lemon sauce and the zucchini chips were absolutely bomb! The waitress then brings over a chicken sandwich plate with fries for us and we tell her it's not for us. She says ok and asks if we want hot sauce, my girl says sure and a few minutes later she brings us a second cup of ketchup instead. I saw her give that chicken sandwich to another table a few minutes later, like wtf. When the bill came we were charged for the burger we didn't order, there was no discounted items as promised and they added a mandatory 20% gratuity. What a great way to end this experience. So we ate the food and it was really good, but the prices are pretty high for what it is and the waitress was absolutely terrible, the service took way too long. read more

3.5 stars for my Dine Out Boston experience (aka Restaurant Week). North 26 is located at the Millennium Bostonian Hotel just beyond the historic Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Though I was the 2nd party to arrive for lunch, three additional groups came in shortly thereafter, and we were all given seats by the window facing the street. The rolls arrived warm and soft inside beneath the crisp crust with some nicely softened butter. For my two course Restaurant Week special for $20, I selected the Lobster Bisque with fresh Lobster and Crème Chantilly and their Roasted Gulf of Maine Swordfish, Zucchini, Tomato, Basil and Olive Tapenade on Lemon Risotto with Haricots Verts. The bisque was light and creamy with a decent amount of cubed claw meat, though some pieces were a little tough. The fish was a good portion at about a half inch thick, and perhaps one of my most healthy lunches of late as it came topped with a nice pile of diced vegetables. However, I shamed the clean plate club as I couldn't finish the creamy risotto. Service was pleasant. read more

The food is always amazing but I am partial to the cheesecake! Opps on my part for reviewing my first meal with the hotel so see the Millennium Bostonian. Out for a celebration, my lunch mate and I enjoyed the cool dining room overlooking the hot summer day near Faneuil Hall. My haddock was hot, not over cooked, light and fluffy. Served with a double order of asparagus I could splurge on the dessert. This was my third try of the chef's cheese cake and I have loved all of them. The sweet potato one was yummy and this one was awesome as well. However, this one came with an unusual surprise...Carmel and choc swirls looped around the polished white plate with a single cheese cake. With a piece of bacon??? Yes, bacon dipped in a hard coating of sweetness. It was like a breakfast pop. Sugar, toffee like, and salty all in a pop. Who says you can't have breakfast on a stick. This questionable decor was just the right touch to the smooth creamy and rich cake. Mmm. The Pineapple upside down cake served with Coconut ice cream was delicious too. Again, a bit of a twist. An individual sized light and fluffy cake with a slice of pineapple topped with a dollop of ice cream that had a batter of coconut. It had been deep fried to give it a hard shell and crunchy bite. The ice cream did melt fast but we had fun cutting and splitting the shell. read more

My wife and I stayed in the Bostonian and North 26 is attached. We dropped in on our way back to our room needing a little snack before we settled in for the night. We decided on Chicken Parm Eggrolls to start. My wife had a Caesar Salad with chicken and I had a bowl of NE Claim Chowder. The eggrolls should better describe the marinara sauce, they come with a spicy marinara and not a regular one. This was not a problem for me, but it was too spicy for my wife and I could see how it would be for someone who is not a spicy food person, they had a "bite" for sure. The salad was under dressed, but there was no issue with getting a side of additional dressing. The claim chowder was average and did not have a lot of clams in it. Because we were staying at the Bostonian, the North 26 was inevitable because we are lazy and it is downstairs. The food is decent, the staff seem to tolerate us even though we are broke & petty fuckers who tip meagre amounts. The food is decent until you order proteins. When it comes to steak and eggs, North 26 thinks medium rare means borderline burning the meat and it was evident when cutting felt more like sawing. On the other hand, the tuna ceviche and surf n turf are lovely to consume (the former has way too much "asian greens" resting under the fish though). There's bits and pieces to fault on the dishes we were served at North 26, but by far the best was the dessert. The beautiful French apple tart with a side of cinnamon ice cream has left a lasting impression in my mind, it was texturally balanced (crunch from the pastry, softness from the apple + ice cream), and the strength from the cinnamon seemed to blend seamlessly with the acidity of the berries that complimented the sweetness. That was a 10/10 and I'd get diabetes for it again. The North 26 offers great service as well, and they give you bagels and cream cheese when you order a side of "only smoked salmon with the capers and onions" just in case you have any second thoughts. They're always there for you, when you're having a depressive episode in the hotel room and you want oddly specific requests like just a bowl of raspberries, to date night downstairs with more pricey dishes. How hard is it to pour beer out of the draft? And then got our clam chowder appetizer at 7:30 and it was cold clam chowder. Then finally got our food at 8. Ordered seafood pasta and salmon. All the prices of their entrees are north of $26 but taste like a dish worth 26 cents. The salmon wasn't too bad but this was all relative to the extremely bland seafood. Also eventually we got some appetizer bread but they might as well have served us stones with butter. That crap was uneatable. To make matters worse our waiter or waiters or managers were so bizarre. Think we met 8 people continually asking the same questions. Interrupting our meal to ask weird questions beyond what typical waiters would ask. It really seemed like it was their first time ever serving as waiters. I feel bad for our cousin who had to eat such a gross birthday meal. But let me tell you, this place is great if you're looking to treat out someone you hate. You are guaranteed warm beer, cold soup, weird service, and gross overpriced entrees! First time here and just finished breakfast with my wife. The food was excellent, but as good as the food was, it was overshadowed by how OUTSTANDING the manager was. At least I think he was the manager. His name is Tommy and he did literally everything from fixing a wobbly table to delivering food to speaking to pretty much everyone in the restaurant. He lights up around the little ones and was just so happy and helpful, always smiling, and he made breakfast even better than it already was. And breakfast was really good. If you get the chance to eat here, and you should, look for Tommy. It isn't often I see someone so energetic that makes your visit so enjoyable. I would absolutely recommend visiting North 26. The food is worth it, the staff, most especially Tommy, makes the whole experience better. read more

Went for lunch during the week with about 5 coworkers and overall, while the food was decent, the service took foreverrr. Our guess was that since they're a restaurant connected to a hotel (Millennium Bostonian Hotel) they aren't used to accommodating large groups during the middle of the day (it was pretty quiet when we got there) Still, that really isn't an excuse, so lunch ended up taking about 20 minutes longer than we expected. Options for the lunch menu are vast and there were a lot of appealing choices as well as options for combos with a choice of two: soup, half-sandwich, half-salad (four types of salad options). I got the smoked salmon club with fries (not salad because whatever, treat yo self) and I really enjoyed it except the fact that I had such a hard time eating it. Basically I was given four small sandwiches with large toothpicks going through the center since they were so tall. The extra piece of bread in the center was very unnecessary. Prices were decent, everyone else liked their entrees ranging from sandwiches to salads, so it was really the slow service and inconvenient structure of food that lowered their overall rating. read more

I went to this restaurant for dinner but not by my first choice! I wanted to eat at Quincy Market but I got there too late and just decided to eat here because it was close by. I decided to go for the 3 course menu. For appetizer, I ordered the saffron broth with grilled garlic bread mussels. I thought the mussels were really good! I really enjoyed the appetizer. The portion was really generous and the mussels were cooked well. For my entree, I ordered the swordfish entree with fruit compote. The swordfish was a little bit on the dry side and the dish as a whole lacked flavor. I thought the fish was overcooked. For dessert, I ordered the cheese sampler. I was not interested in any of the dessert option, so I ordered the cheese sampler to pair with my wine. I believe that the cheese was the best course out of the 3 courses that I had. I really liked the honey that they provided for the cheese. It really paired with the wine that I ordered. Since it was their 30th anniversary, they were having a special for their wines. It was $30 a bottle. I tried the chardonnay and I thought it was pretty good. It paired well with my courses. My server was a little awkward. She interacted with my friend and me in a weird way. Every time she passed by to check up on us I just felt a weird vibe from her. After dinner, I wanted to go to the restroom, except there are no restrooms in this restaurant. You have to walk outside the restaurant and use the restroom at the hotel next door, so I think it is really inconvenient. read more
