Finding affordable summer swimming lessons for kids has become increasingly difficult over the…read moreyears. In the past I have tried to secure a spot at the Flower Mound CAC, but signing up on their website is akin to buying concert tickets. As soon as registration opens you have about a nanosecond to hit the button or you're out of luck. It doesn't help that the pool of lifeguards (pun intended!) keeps shrinking every year resulting in fewer classes. Just as I was ready to give up my search and throw in the towel (pun intended again!) I discovered Lakeside Aquatic Club. Their classes are held year round at the LISD natatorium/Westside Aquatic Center. It's an indoor facility so parents can watch comfortably out of the unforgiving Texas weather. Also, the cost is comparable to the CAC, which is far less than what the local swim schools charge. Students are divided into small groups according to their skill level so they get lots of individual attention. The instructors are experienced and have so much patience with the kids. I also appreciate how quick and concise the communication is. Any time your child advances to the next level by acquiring new skills they will notify you by email the same day. Not only did my son learn a great deal over the summer, he enjoyed every minute of it. I will be happy to enroll him in future classes here, especially without the stress of having to spam the button to be the first in line!

His coach Coach Chrissy is incredible. She's both tough and understanding, and just gets through to these kids. His former coaches Coach Tony and Coach Leslie have all been great as well. We have such supportive families and the kids learn from that! My son swam both club and summer league when we lived up north and neither program compared to what you get from LAC. While the competition can be tough, it's very positive and there is such a great comradely among the kids. In fact, my younger daughter (7) that grew up at pool and said she would never be on a swim team, signed up with LAC in October. She went through the Red and Black teams with Coach Sam. He is perfect for the littles!! She's now in the Bronze group with Coach Leslie and it's so awesome to see her move through the team so quickly with such strong technique. This team is huge but it's an amazing family! As our third swim team experience it knocks the socks off all the others. Thanks LAC for having a great team and great coaches!

Also I never said I had to do volunteer hours with the place I was donating it to. That contract was between me and my employer which has nothing to do with the dance company. As a matter of fact I did my hours with Letters Against Isolation which does great work. I sent over 400 cards, letters, greetings, ect. to several people in need. Not to mention the hours and money that I spent making backpacks and water bottles for the kids on the team as well. Yes when things started they were great however things changed as time went on. Teaching style changed. It is never ok to yell at a child and make them cry. It is never ok to tell them they are not doing enough. It is never ok to tell them they are not being a team. If they weren't being a team that is the fault of the team leader which was Tiffany. Let's make sure the credit goes to where it needs to be. The kids on the team won not the teacher not the company the kids did. If it wasn't for the kids and their parents there would have not been any team there would not have been any dancers representing the company. The kids did that. The kids put Tiffany's vision to what it was. Tiffany did not win the kids did.

I came here on Tuesday evening with few friends. The price was decent, only ~$12 for multiple hours of playtime. At the entrance they also had some rackets, shoes, accessories for purchase. There were couches for resting as well. Upon entering the play area, I was pleasantly surprised how good the space was. All courts were new, with quality mats on the floor. Excellent lighting. Courts were well spaced out. Small benches were around each court for sitting and putting the stuff. All of the 9 courts were busy at that time, so there were over 30 players in the open play. We shared courts with others players while playing for almost 2 hours. Everyone used plastic birdies here. I was the only one using feather birdies. The staff member was friendly. He gave us bunch of info over the phone when we called. He assisted us with the sign up process as well. Overall I had an excellent time playing at this facility, got to play with some really good quality players as well.
