I had an appointment for 4:15 PM on 02/21/23 with Dr. Douchy for a Lipoma Removal. As they requested I arrived 15 minutes yearly. I signed at the front desk and sat down waiting to be called. After 45 minutes I went to the front desk to find out if Dr. Douchy was running late. The front desk lady could not find my appointment on the list where I signed, she completely forgot about me and after looking for the list she finally took my insurance card and I signed the Covid release form and waited another 10 minutes before going back for my procedure. I was extremely upset that I wasted all this time and now in the end of their shift I was finally being seen by the nurse and the doctor. Both of them were informed of the front desk "slip up" and they took care of me in a very professional manner. Dr. Douchy is a very caring doctor and spite of being almost end of the day, he took his time removing my Lipoma. The nurse was kind and patient with me. When I left the office the lights were deemed and everyone else was gone. I could not even check out. What a terrible unprofessional experience. The front desk ladies didn't even apologize for her mistake. read more

Dr. Douchy prescribed Accutane ( a potent drug) to my daughter that was suffering a rash, As the rash became more and more severe, Dr. Douchy promised that it will get better over the coming months. The rash has gotten worse. I later received a $700 bill from their office plus all the cost of the accutane about $400 a month over a six month period. Dr. Gardner and Douchy have not returned my call. Please beware! read more

The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. I saw Dr. Waxweiler and he had the best bedside manner. He explained everything to me and was genuinely caring. My last dermatologist froze some moles off (without warning) and sent me on my way with a pamphlet. No explanation or even eye contact! If you enjoy receiving unexpected medical bills, 3 times what you were told the treatment would cost, then you hit the jackpot. Otherwise, find a new Dr. We were quoted a cash price at the time of scheduling, then received a bill for 3 times what we were prepared to pay. The service provided didn't change, however, they found a way to charge insurance for a medical vs cosmetic visit. Veronica was unwilling to help correct the issue and kept stated we signed the generic paperwork giving them permission to charge insurance even though they never discussed it with us. Horrible service, long wait times, and apparently they'll tell you certain procedures are covered by your medical insurance, then 1 month later you get a bill for a large amount of money and come to find it out wasn't covered. Apparently it's up to the patient to cross reference the medical codes that they bill for to what my plan covers!? Yeah right what a joke. How am I suppose to even know the medical codes, what they are, and how they bill them, and not that I'm a doctor but this is coming from someone with a degree in Biochemistry. They do not conduct business in a proper and ethical manner here, stay away. I'm trying to work with them to come to a compromise, however I just received a bill that they're going to send my bill to collections soon. Considering I'm a person with a long history and a near 800 credit score who always pays his bills on time, I am disgusted by their behavior. read more

I have seen 2 other dermatologists at different practices other than NAD in the past but my experiences with Dr. Rupley at the Marietta NAD location have definitely been the best which is why I make the drive from Norcross to Marietta. My visits are never rushed by Dr. Rupley who is very attentive to what she is doing, thorough in her explanations and happy to make sure all of my questions have been answered before I leave. I was ushered to an exam room and given the typical paper gown for a body skin exam. I could hear giggling in the hallway back and forth by the staff for about ten minutes. Finally a young girl came in and asked a few questions. Obviously no one had read the paperwork I had been required to fill out. Dr Sabini came in and the unprofessional assistant dropped my mask on the floor, did not even bother to pick it up! did not offer to replace it with a clean one! I thought it was so entirely repulsive and gross. I suppose they walked on my mask because it was kicked aside. When I left for the check out, that woman was sweet. But I was shocked bc there was a jar of poorly marked retin cream that I was being charged for. What? The dr had not mentioned that I needed it. ??? I have never been to such a weird and odd dermatology experience. Will not return. read more

I do not recommend this office. To begin with, this group does not seem to value its patients and I get the feeling that patient care and proper bedside manner is not a priority for the staff or doctors. My visit was short and abrupt and I received very little support or guidance. I prefer to spend my dollars at a facility where I am treated with compassion and care. This group is so large that they have turned into a cold establishment where you are treated as though you are little more than number. read more

Doc is great. Front of the house - Awful. Try and call to cancel an appointment. no one answers your call. I have tried for 2 days and I have never had a person answer the phone. They say they will call you back within 30 min and they don't. I finally had someone call me back and she told me they are short staffed and she is supporting 5 locations by herself. They are charging me $50 for what they say is a missed appointment. This is for the Duluth location. I spoke to the office manager and she was brash and rude. I explained that I called and she said that she looked at the call log and didn't see my number. I called from my office phone and not my cell phone. Yet, they will tell you they are updating and merging systems. I have never been late or missed an appointment. I told the office manager that if I am being charged, I will find a new Doc. she said that is fine. I really liked my Doc read more

I took my daughter who has eczema and saw two different dermatologists over the course of the year and both did not provide any prescriptions that worked for her. We did a number of tests that included patch testing and we learned nothing new. I specifically asked about the costs of the tests and asked for them to check to make sure my insurance would cover it before we did it. We proceeded and then received a bill for $680. I visited this practice last week to address some itchy patches on my scalp. The wait wasn't too long, considering I had some additional paperwork to fill out besides what I had filled out online prior to my appointment. However, I was one of two patients in the waiting room, and could hear every single part of the multiple, loud, and catty conversations going on among the reception staff, including how many patients and how much time they had left to spend in the office. The conversations hadn't stopped when I first arrived at the desk, and continued on for the duration of my stay in the waiting room. Additionally, instead of fully attending to me, the paying patient, I had to decide whether I was being spoken to or not amidst the conversations that continued on while I checked in. Dr. Dahr was very pleasant, and came into my exam room almost immediately after the nurse had left. He didn't spend much time in the room, but was very quick and to the point, and addressed all of my concerns about prescriptions. He casually mentioned that one of my prescriptions needed to be sent to a different pharmacy than my preferred one because he "knows they'll do it right," which led me to believe it would be a compounded formula. He also mentioned that if the prescription was too expensive, to give the office a call back, and he would write a different prescription for me. CarePoint Pharmacy contacted me via text, not phone call (as the doctor and a printout had said), and I logged in to view the prescription as they require authorization and payment before shipping the prescription. The prescription, a brand name shampoo called Ovace, which is manufactured and bottled, not compounded. Ovace does not technically have a generic (the active ingredient can be prescribed in different forms, including a solution, but maybe not as a shampoo), so my insurance does not cover it, and the asking price on GoodRx is $550+. That being said, CarePoint does offer it for $40. However, I have other financial obligations, and after a $40 copay, and $30 in two other prescriptions, I am struggling to pay another $40 for a third prescription. No problem, right? I just called the office and left a message after they had closed, and I was called back the following business day. The nurse said she would be calling in the Ovace to Benzer Pharmacy, who will provide it "significantly cheaper" than CarePoint. When Benzer called, I was again asked to pay $40 for this prescription. I called the office again, and spoke to a nurse. I explained that I was calling for a different prescription, as Dr. Dahr had suggested if the Ovace was too expensive. I also let her know that both pharmacies had the prescription at $40, because I dumbly thought that the nurse that called it into Benzer was mistaken on the price (hence saying it would be "significantly cheaper.") This nurse informed me that "that's a good price for Ovace," which left me feeling incredibly awkward and inadequate for not being able to afford a prescription the doctor said he could change. I explained once more that Dr. Dahr told me to call back if the Ovace was too expensive and that he would write a new prescription, to which the nurse responded that there wasn't another prescription available that would do what Ovace does, but she would "ask him anyway." I have yet to hear back, but I do respect their 48-hour return call policy, and it has only been a little over 24 hours. I understand that pharmaceutical companies kick back to doctors that write scripts for their products, but this is beyond absurd. I'm not sure if I'm more fed up with the nurses belittling my financial situation and refusing to take my concerns and needs as a patient into consideration, or that I got caught up in this Ovace catastrophe in the first place because the doctor wanted to pad his pocket. read more

I've been going here for several years without problems. I always pay cash though and don't use insurance. It seems like the negative reviews here are to do with the convoluted for-profit health insurance extortion racket that we have in this country and not with the practice themselves. They have always been very reasonable for me with a C.O.D. price. They have a sign posted that they don't accept Obamacare marketplace plans. I sense that is politically motivated. When I asked why that was, I got what I suspect is a BS answer "Because they never asked us to participate." Oh come on. I don't think there is a more vocal critic of Obamacare than I am, but not accepting those plans because you don't like Obama is just hurting patients. The bottom line here is you never really know what your insurance cartel is going to pay until months later. Bills may be mailed to you for coding errors and other things that your insurance cartel doesn't feel like paying. As a rule, you can expect every claim to get denied by default and require you to fight with them. After all, the more coding errors and other paperwork mixups, the less they pay and the less they pay, the more they profit! Just pay cash. It's not heart surgery. It ain't all that much. Don't even give them your address or any insurance information and ask them to cut your a break because you're self paying. read more

Love the doctors at this practice. My entire family was treated by their doctors. Some PA's are good too, but give you very little time and rush through the appointment. Approximately 3 years ago my daughter had a bad visit with a PA in their Suwanee/Paddocks location. My daughter has had 4 pre-cancer facial surgeries by one of the best facial surgeons. She has endured very painful facial and dental surgeries and recoveries since the age of 8. Needless to say, she knows a good doctor when she visits one. When I called to complain about my daughter's visit with the PA being a very short, insufficient and impersonal visit, I was treated very rudely by Elaine the practice manager. The tone of the practice would change if they replaced or retrained Elaine and made patient/customer service a priority. Elaine knows none of my daughter's extensive facial surgical history but proceeded to lecture me on how my daughter is like most teens and I need to ignore her and that she was the problem for the ridiculously short and truncated visit. Elaine's careless and uneducated comments to me was an epiphany regarding their cold and rude culture there. Our entire family left that practice--we had been there for 8 years!! Doctors at NA Derm are good; patient service not so much. Would love to go back, but won't until the atmosphere changes. read more

Beware of this place. I missed an appointment because I didn't get the reminder phone call. I informed the front office when I went to make my next appointment. They didn't bother to look into why and said it must be my phone number that's not correct. Ummm ok.... but it was. next appointment comes along and again no reminder. Yeah - it's 2019 - people are busy. This is your BUSINESS so you need to remind people. What happens? They send me a $50 no show bill I told them again that I DIDN'T GET A REMINDER. They look into their records and say yes - apparently my phone isn't accepting robo calls. Ok - well that wasn't my fault but I'll call the carrier - who said NAD was categorized as a scamming number and was being blocked. (FYI - they obviously got it right) however - not my fault. I tell NAD - and what to they do? Send me another bill - $50 no show. So no service was provided but you insist on getting payment when you are clearly TOLD what occurred? Do not go to these dishonest people. You can't tell me your nurse or doctor sat around waiting for me - because I've been there. I've seen how they operate. Try North GEOGIA Dermatologists instead. Cleaner place - much more professional - and actually take the time to diagnose and help. Oh and their reminder calls actually come through. read more
