Best Place Ever. Good People. Friendly People. The need to change the color of their store, making the store more alive. Overall 10/10

I took 3 beautiful but very dusty vintage cassette decks to get serviced (2 worked OK, but 1…read moredefinitely needed repair). When I went to pick them up, they were still filthy. I tested the broken one in the store and it still didn't work. The guy behind the counter said that maybe the technician (Rashid the owner) forgot to do some of the work, so leave them and come back next week. I came back the following week, but it appeared that still nothing had been done! WTF. Again they said leave them and it will get done right this time. These machines are very valuable, so I didn't want this guy touching my decks again. I took them home, opened the covers and saw that at least one of the drive belts hadn't been replaced and the decks clearly hadn't been cleaned. There was no way for me to tell whether they had been tested, lubricated, calibrated, etc, but the broken one was still broken. I had paid a 50% deposit when I first brought them in. When I took the decks home I was mortified by the work (or lack of it) but at least I thought that I had only paid $500 instead of $1000. At least it wasn't a total rip-off, right? Well when I got my next credit card bill, I saw that they charged the other $500 (without my authorization!) weeks ago while they still had the decks and before I picked them up. Again WTF. I still can't comprehend the incompetence and/or lack of veracity and integrity of this shop. I really really don't understand how they have such great reviews from other customers. Maybe Rashid is a great TV repairman, but just plays an audio repairman on TV... All that said, I should give credit where credit is due. This was my second time I had visited their shop. The first time I had a great experience. Rashid told me that although it would be very expensive to have him repair my subwoofer, I could easily do it myself, and told me where to buy a new driver and how to install it. That impressed me...

TL;DR - Amazing experience. If you are in the market for a desk chair in the Bay Area, it is worth…read morethe drive to Rohnert Park for first class service and value. Longer version: I work at least a 40 hour work week from my home office (in addition to other work commitments). So WFH is a very real role that I have equipped the home office for - dual wide-screen monitors, standing desk, studio monitoring for audio, the real deal. What has been lacking is my desk chair: an older tired off-brand that just gets by. A far cry from the Herman Miller Aeron I enjoy at my work office in Kentfield. So when the home chair finally broke (the back height adjustment won't stay), it was time to start internet-shopping. I looked at Branch, Autonomous, Madison Seating, Hinomi...and of course that quickly led to being served up all sorts of brands I'd never heard of. This led to countless YouTube "expert" recommendations and the like. Isn't this the way of all shopping online these days? Finally too confused, I happened by chance to be in Rohnert Park one weekend (my wife and I were going to a concert at Sonoma State), and saw the Office Furniture Interiors & Design store early Sunday evening. They were closed, but I saw through the window they had several of the models that came really highly recommended online...the Haworth Fern, the Steelcase Gesture, the Herman Miller Embody...and several of the Aerons (that I already use at work, see above). I finally called them a few weeks later. Benjamin answered the phone (I think he's the owner) and we had a wonderful phone conversation - intelligent, professional, insightful - and I find out this company provides the chairs for my employer (!), and odds are the Aeron I'm sitting in at work was probably purchased from these guys. The next week I drive all the way up to Rohnert Park and end up being greeted by Benjamin. He then spends the better part of an hour with me, helping locate the best choices for my needs, recommending I stay with particular brands for very sensible reasons, and helps me narrow down my choices. Truth be told, all of these top of the line chairs feel different from each other, significantly so. There really isn't a way to ensure you're making the best choice without spending time sitting in them. Benjamin explained all of the options and adjustments in great detail, for each chair, and then let me spend time sitting and adjusting, rocking and tweaking, and getting used to each. Just the right balance of expert advice, complete product information, and let-you-do-you spend some quality time. I ended up going with a Herman Miller Embody chair (at a great price), and could not be happier. I may sound like a shill, but I know that the chair you spend so many hours working in can change your life - for better or worse. If you're in the market for a WFH chair, really looking to upgrade the "cockpit", you ought to consider making the trek up to Rohnert Park. You won't regret it.

If you like to support honest local businesses who sell good-quality products, I would NOT…read morerecommend purchasing your office furniture at Office Furniture Interiors & Design in Rohnert Park. I purchased a $5,000 used privacy booth from these guys, which they were advertising on craigslist. Benjamin, the CEO of the company, assured me in writing that it was used but in "excellent" condition. When they delivered and assembled the unit, I realized that it had been not-so-gently used by its former owner--the floor was dented and marked up, the door was hanging on it crooked, the plexiglass top was scratched, and there was old adhesive all over the outside of it. I felt disappointed about this, and decided to let Benjamin know that he had grossly misrepresented the condition of the unit. Rather than apologizing or doing anything to make it right, Benjamin decided to attempt to gaslight me--telling me that he had sent photos and invited me to the showroom to see the unit. At this point, I was feeling insulted, with a hint of righteous anger, so I called him on the lie--neither of us had any record of photos sent, or invitations to the showroom. Benjamin then copped to it--he DID say it was in excellent condition, he DIDN'T send photos, the unit IS missing the floor mat (which I assume is important to it serving its purpose as a sound-dampening privacy booth), and the plexiglass top IS damaged. He offered to send me a new top and a floor mat. I accepted this solution, because frankly, I was over it, and him. It's been two weeks now, I've followed up several times about the new top and floor mat, and it appears that Benjamin has decided to ghost me. I'm a small business owner who was trying to support another local business, and re-use furniture instead of buying new stuff. Had I known that these guys were willing to lie and lie again just to make an extra buck, I would have just gotten it new. What's the saying? No good deed? Not sure how they got all these amazing reviews on here, but I would not recommend doing business with Benjamin and Office Furniture Interiors & Design.
