Apparently they do not want my business. I talked to two employees to get some flyers made. One guy told me that I had to go online and do it and it's complicated. I also wanted to get a picture printed so I was probably gonna spend $100 at the store today and they wouldn't help me and then the other guy said they're not supposed to take any more orders today. They wouldn't even consider helping me. This is not a place. I'm gonna come to anytime soon, and I definitely will never do any printing here. there's a lot of other stores you can buy paper products from and there's a lot of other stores that you can get printing from so if you want to get it done, I suggest you go someplace else like I am right now. FYI, there is plenty of parking. They have a huge parking lot and they have hardly any cars in it. So they're not busy. And maybe there's a reason there's not a lot of people shopping here. What can you say when you deal with a corporation like they really only care about one thing. And that's not the customers and that's not their employees. They only care about the bottom line. Visited Office Depot last week. Store was not that crowded because it was near store opening time. I needed to get some office furniture, and a young sales clerk gave me some prices, but he certainly wasn't very knowledgeable. He said one item was out of stock and needed to be ordered. I checked out a couple of other stores, then returned later in the morning. On my return visit, Lizzie helped me. She was positively awesome. She spent a few extra minutes locating the "out of stock" item and wheeled it out of the back storage area. She was also very helpful in assisting me in selecting the remaining items I needed. Usually I have a decent shopping experience. They had some amazing deals on back to school supplies and I loaded up the kids teachers. Today was very off. I went in with my significant other we knew what we wanted and were in ABSOLUTELY NO RUSH. It was during the noon hour so it's not like we were needing to be ushered about so they could close for the day. An associate appeared out of no where with in 10 feet of the door "do you need help finding something" I politely replied even though a bit perplexed as to how me walking into a store speaking with my shopping partner meant I needed help- "no thank you I know what I'm going for" which I did but I also enjoy looking at everything instead of just jumping in and quickly out. I browsed the reams of paper with the kids school paper drive in mind. He was hovering at the end cap every aisle I went down. Moved over to writing utensils and again hovering. If someone hadn't come up to him and asked for assistance he would've continued to follow and I would've set my items down and gone elsewhere or just purchased on Amazon. It was very creepy the way I felt stalked in a store. I am still trying to figure out what about my chosen attire made him feel the need to stalk. Store # 2256, Rohnert Park CA Poor maintenance of self serve photocopiers. Came in to make a few quick copies for a meeting. Page came out white & streaked. Clerk moved me to the 2nd machine same problem. Clerk increased the darkness but still poor. I took it anyway because I needed to leave. The clerks could not change the toner cartridge. This happened to me at the same store about a month ago. The first time, I though it was an exception. Now it appears management is not assigning staff to do regular maintenance on their copiers. For 17c a copy this is not acceptable. I'm going to to Fed EX next door even though they are more expensive. Quality counts. read more

I had a significant amount of printing to be done, and I decided to use Office Depot to do it. To be clear I needed spiral bound books, presentation binders, hundreds of color pages printed and more. There were items I needed printed and a few times due to needed corrections and therefore needed them re-printed. In addition to all that, I sat at their little 'customer desk' for about 4 hours on Saturday organizing all my prints and projects. If not for Margarita & Chris, this would have been a total nightmare. They were courteous , patient and always professional. They accommodated my many requests, allowed me to stay there without ever asking me to move, and even offered suggestions when I was printing something if they thought it could help. These are the type of employees that make good companies great! Well done ladies, truly well done! read more

I stopped at the store in order to find a few office supplies, boxes, some pens, a labeling kit, and a few other things needed in my business. I had already tried to get the items at Staples. Many of the items were available at Staples, but the labeling kit (as well as a printer I had been eyeing) we're only available by ordering them and coming back tomorrow to pick them up. Office Depot seemed to have much more in stock, and the helpful staff showed me the features of the printer I had been thinking of, and I went ahead and bought it that day. I'm old enough to miss the old stationary stores. they carried a wide variety of items, and we're always getting in new products as well as having specialty items that have been stocked sometime ago. The big box, stores, sell paper, Xerox services, and the fast moving necessities that the old fashion stationary stores relied on for their basic bread and butter. Sure, the box stores can sell paper for less, but they are a far cry from the stationary stores of old. If only there was someway for the independent shops to make enough money to stay in business. Office Depot was a lot closer to the stores of old, the employees were knowledgeable, and the items in stock and available. Their communication with each other since being on different shifts was incredibly impressive and made for a smooth printing experience. These days I am in need of copying/printing/related services much of the time. After trying other services in the area, I happened upon this Office Depot. I was really impressed when I first called them, when they picked up the phone right away. The individual I spoke to was friendly and had all of the information I needed. Later, at the store, I found all of the staff to be unusually friendly and attentive, and the copy center staff, in particular. When I had trouble with the machines in the self-serve area, one of the employees put me at ease and gave me a very helpful tutorial. Later, I saw her interact with another customer in the same way. I have purchased office supplies there as well, and despite the difficulties during the pandemic, they manage to keep an impressive stock of everything I've needed on hand. Went in to return some items that I purchased on Instacart, policy on Instacart, or Office Depot states that you take in your receipt to the location within 90 days to return. When I got there, the manager, who was inexperienced, rude, did not know how to handle the situation, couldn't answer my question, refused to make my return until I complained more and continue to say to his other coworker, Let's just do this, so we can get her the hell out of here will never shop at this location or ever purchased another Office Depot item due to their poorly trained ignorant manager, they do not even know what their own policies are for a return. It took me a while to collect and heart and thoughts before leaving a review and my conclusion is I need to share my experience. A week prior to my Mom's Memorial/Celebration of Life I went in to the Rohnert Park Office Depot and spoke with the photo department and I believe area Manager for this location Elizabeth Liz. I explained to her that I was in great need of assistance with the putting together of my Mother's remembrance cards in which the timeframe I needed them completed by and if she would be able to assist me with this. Her response was she wears 14 different hats so she is super busy, but assured me she was 100% able to deliver, all I needed to do was make sure all my instructions for her were as clear as day: Correct spelling, picture placement explained to the exact, and any add ons, etc were thoroughly clear to her and to be sure this information be sent to her via e-mail. So I did. After this she sends me a proof card and right away I ask her to make corrections which were: 1)the placement of my Mother's face. 2) two main words were spelled incorrectly. I must also add the front side of my Mom's poem had a picture of a dragonfly by it. This communication took about four e-mails back and forth with one another. Then comes the afternoon prior to my Mom's service I get not only an e-mail from Elizabeth Liz saying all has been corrected and is ready for pick up I receive a call from a store associate with the same message. Mind you I just lost my Mom so I go into the store to pick up the cards and poster ordered, a guy associate is helping me out and Elizabeth Liz is there helping out another customer, before he rings me up I ask to look at them. The poster was good then I pull out the cards and I was disappointed. she had not corrected the spelling in one place and did not edit my Mother's photo. Right away she stops what she is doing and says with a highly stressed tone "Is there a problem"? The male associate explained to her the issues and she rudely looked at me and said "This is why I ask you to be clear with me when you send your information to me in the e-mail" I was beside myself. I had done this and had/have the e-mails as does she to prove I've been since our first to last conversations Then she proceeds to tell me once again " I wear 14 different hats and this information is a must" "You'll need to leave them here and I'll have to work late tonight to correct them, and wil have them ready for you first tomorrow morning because I have the next two days off" " Not only that I am the only one who knows how to do this job", "So I have to make it right" I felt so disrespected by her lack of professionalism and just left. I didn't have it in me. The morning of my Mom's service I stop by Office Depot to pick up the final product, check it prior to check out andmy Mom's photo had not been edit, the dragonfly was completely removed, but the spelling she had corrected. All I could do was point these items out and burst into tears, pay for them and walk away. During my Mom's service I get a call from Margarita the Assistant Manager and she calls to chat about what happened and to try and make the corrections right. Throughout the last couple of weeks she has been working with Elizabeth Liz to correct them. This is what gets me though; as a human being. No apology on her part, no self accountability, no discount for your troubles or you know it would have even been genuine to recommend adding a roll of stamps so that I could sent corrected cards out to all the attendees via mail since so many traveled to attend. Nothing! Thank goodness for Margarita's apology and determination to make this situation right with people skills when speaking with me. Your corporate level and possibly higher needs to know my experience so that in hopes no one will ever have to experience this in such a tender time in life. Please use this review to do better, you do make the impact when you interact with others. read more

I walked into this office depot on a wednesday evening about 6 pm. Not only did i not get a hello from any of the staff that were there i wasnt even greated or asked if i needed help with anything when i walked over to the sales floor. I saw one employee at the cash register and two more in the mailing area, but there were not any customers over in the mailing department. So why was i not asked if i needed help. It shouldnt matter if im there 3 minutes or 10. I should have been greeted and asked if i needed help and acknowledged. I got nothing, so that office depot will not get any of my business in the future. Bottom line is horrible customer service. Im reading other reviews saying great friendly customer service but that was not the case by any means. Management needs to step up customer service training big time. Who would have ever thought I'd be reviewing Office Depot? Well, my experience with this store just blows my socks off. Perhaps the poor reviews have been read and they're trying to make a difference. Well, my Brother printer failed at only 664 pages, Brother sent me a 'newly refurbished' one, it was worse than what I had sent back to them. Now I'm in the middle of a critical project and the thought of dealing with Brother 'customer service' again has sending me over the edge but also wouldn't be fixing my problem. I had purchased the Square Trade warranty with the printer, I believe that is key here. I called the store and told them my issue, they told me to bring the printer with my receipt etc to the store. Andrew got me set up with a different brand of printer that I was reluctant about because of it's size. Well, I got this HP set up and WOW!! it has completely changed the way my technology is functioning. All because they heard my crisis and jumped in to provide over the top customer service. I did my part as the customer and had all of my documentation and I believe that helped them provide the service I needed. But they made it so easy and got me on my way. Thank you!! And while I was there I needed to make copies and their copiers work nicely, not crowded, stapler, staple remover and hole punch all available at the work table. So, my printer had died and I really needed to print some important paperwork. I had gone to Office Depot to buy a new printer and was willing to spend whatever it took to get a new one that I wanted. I was looking at all the printers and no help was offered....so no big deal, I went to ask the sales associate if she could have someone come help me pick out a new printer. Someone who knew more than I did about them. She radioed someone to come help me, and so I strolled back to the printers....and waited and waited....and well waited some more. YES the girl could see me....I was probably waiting a good 20min. At this point I am pissed and I had left and went to Target to get my printer, from someone who didn't know much but was willing to help me out. If you are going to have a print center, please follow some protocol, and hire someone who is older than 16 who actually has experience in doing print work. Obviously, if my printing project was a simple 'click on the print button' job, I would do it myself at home. I had a full color printing job (which when I finally took it someplace else to have printed ended up being over 500.00 in printing). The print job was a rush order, for my work. It was about 500 color photos, 4 to a page, and I needed 3 sets. As soon as I realized it was a rush order I began calling around. I called Staples and Office Depot in Santa Rosa and both places told me they were super backed up with holiday printing etc and could not meet my deadline. I was totally fine with this because they were HONEST. Obviously it was important or I would not wait until 24 hours before the project needs to be submitted. I am not perfect but I am not an A$$h*le either. I called on a Sunday evening at about 5 (when I found out the project was a rush) and was told 'yes, we can do that, no problem'. Dropped off the jump drive with a list of typed instructions and every possible way to contact me with any questions or problems. My deadline for pick up was the following day, Monday, at 6 PM. At this point I had no phone calls, no voicemail, no E mail from Office Depot. I got to Office Depot at about 6:30 PM on Monday to pick up my order. I was greeted nicely. I gave my name to pick up my order and this is how the conversation went: Print Clerk: 'Oh, we did not do that order'. Me: 'Umm, why'??!! Print Clerk: 'Well we got a bigger order in, and it will cost a lot so we did that order first'. Are you kidding me??!!! So then the kid starts my project and says, 'well, I think we can get it done by the time we close'. He starts the print job and says that because its all color it will take a while for their computer system to send the job to the color printer. I say this is fine. Me: 'Ok, so I will go next door and sit down and get some dinner and then come back. Even if we only get two of the 3 sets of copies made, that will work but I have to have two copies' Print Clerk: 'Ok yes, we can do that. I will get it going right now and if I have any questions I will call you'. Me: 'Thank you. So you will call me right? This is really important'. Print Clerk: 'Yes, we will call you'. Tick Tick Tick.... 35 minutes go by. I have a nice dinner in a freezing cold resturant next door (Thats for another day on yelp). Me, to new face at printing counter: 'Hi, I am here to pick up, or look at an order I have being printed'. New clerk: 'Oh yeah. We can't do it. Its taking a while and something with the printer being slow and it can only process a few pages at a time'. Me: '?? Really? I was just told by the other kid that I would be called if something came up'!!!! New Clerk: 'Oh, well he had to go to lunch so he told me to give you the message when you got back'. At this point, its 8 PM. I collected my jump drive from the clerk and left. I ended up going to the fedEx/Kinkos in downtown Santa Rosa, had to pay for a rush order and thankfully they are open 24 hours. They finished my print project, which I ended up having to pick up at 3:30 AM, to get it delivered to Amador County (3 hours away) by the deadline of 7 AM. SO. Moral of the story - Don't have important s**t printed at Office Depot!!!! read more

Give credit where credit is due. I went to get some supplies for my business as well as some ink for my photo printer at home. One of the employees must have noticed I was lost so asked if he could help me. I told him I was looking for the receipt books. He did not just point or give me an isle # so I could try to locate them myself, he took me directly to the isle and pointed them out to me. After getting the rest of my items with no problems, I proceeded to the checkout only to find the same employee there to help me. He had another employee get my printer ink since it was locked up. She asked me questions to make sure I was getting the correct ink. I was but she did catch the fact that one of the cartridges I would need was not in the set I was buying. So I had them add it. (good catch). Then I was given a discount (not sure why) and had the ink cartridge recycle program explained to me. Office Depot is trying to keep them out of the landfills. Extra kudos there! I was even happier about my experience after I got home and went to replace my ink in my photo printer. One of the inks that I needed happened to be one that the store employee pointed out I was not getting in the original set. Had it not been for her I would have been making another trip to Office Depot (not that I would have minded). You don't always have to go above and beyond. Fast and easy email print jobs but they were very expensive and did an awful job. The envelopes I had printed had ink stains and were crinkled on the edges of every single one. This work, was apparently acceptable to them which surprised me. They handed the envelopes to me without mentioning that they didn't look good. When I mentioned the damage the ditsy and unprofessional trainee just said " oh ya...um... That probably happens when it goes through the printer" no effort was made to rectify the situation same day which leaves me sending out a mailer representing my company with my name on a poorly printed envelope. I felt like they had as much respect for my business as they did for their own work- bummer:( I had another experience where they were unhelpful with the purchase of a chair- long story short- staff is hired to take money and stock product, not necessarily to keep customers happy. read more
