Labor Day pricing in force. We were under the gun, so that's why we ended up staying here otherwise we definitely would have gone elsewhere. It was late in the day and we had to find somewhere to go. The prices on various websites said this was around $119, but when we checked in they told us it was now $150! We were too tired to look elsewhere, and I know we wouldn't have stayed if we weren't so exhausted, but we definitely hesitated, and if the room hadn't looked clean, we would have left. I did see a cigarette burn hole on the bed cover, though. There was no hair dryer, but everything else worked, the fridge, the microwave, tv remote. And there was a nice light around the large mirror instead of above the mirror. There's no breakfast, but an empty, cloudy coffee pot in the lobby. There was street noise and loud, thumping music at night. On the plus side, this hotel had the nicest, fluffiest toilet paper. Still not worth $150 a night. We made up for the high cost by getting food at a nearby Whole Foods store instead of eating out at a restaurant that night. So restaurants in the area can thank North Bay Inn for their lack of business. Later on in our trip we stayed at the Marriott Courtyard San Francisco, which was the same price, but 100 times better. I get the fact that businesses can charge whatever the market will bear and on holiday weekends the later in the day it gets, the more they can charge. Just be aware of that when scouting hotels in this area. We were warned they were pricey here, but this was outrageous. read more

We booked North Bay Inn for an overnight stay in Santa Rosa after planning to catch dinner at SingleThread. For some reason, many of the closer, mid-priced hotels in Healdsburg were sold out this week. North Bay Inn is a basic, motel-style place surrounded by many businesses on Mendocino Ave. We had a pleasant stay at this basic hotel, so I will rate 4 stars. Pros: * Rooms are large, clean, and surprisingly quiet despite being located on a busy street. * Free and fast wifi * Powerful shower and toilet * Lots of storage space, and in-room microwave. * Soft and comfy bed * Walking distance to lots of restaurants, bars, and stores Cons * Breakfast is really limited - cereal, unripe bananas, granola bars, pastries * No laundry bag * Non-existent amenities - no gym or pool. read more

Owner was friendly and the rooms have been recently renovated. The bed was pretty comfy and rooms are clean; hardwood floor but the walls are thin. Why the 4 stars? The water pressure from the shower head was weak as heck. I probably could had showered faster with a bucket of water at that point. Nonetheless, my stay was nice. You're close to Chik Fil A, subway, pizza, sushi, gas, pretty much the essentials when making an overnight stay as you continue traveling. I would reccomend to the Owners to look into fixing the WEAK water pressure. That's the only thing that is making me hesitant to come back. read more

I give 0 stars. At 9am, the maid walked in our room unannounced, while we were in bed and my husband was groping me. And then the maid did the same thing to my sisters room next door. The carpet is dirty and sticky. Very outdated. The mattress is super hard, the pillows were super hard. I felt I was at the Bates Hotel. Very much over priced for what we get. We booked on booking.com. There was a mistake in the number of days stayed. We wanted 2 rooms and 1 day. Either it be a computer glitch or human error 2 nights were booked. When we tried to explain to the male worker when we left and the female worker "Isha" over the phone they were NOT accommodating nor cared nor understanding. We stayed 1 night but are being charged 2 nights. There is a Major language barrier, she kept saying she didn't understand what we were saying. At first the owner seemed helpful, but he said he had the capability to credit one night stay but he said he chose not too. Very greedy and stingy. You would think out of pure generosity, appreciating his customers and understating he would have helped us, especially having our privacy invaded in. We will NOT be saying here again. read more

We've stayed in many hotels and motels and this one was a surprise. They have obviously remodeled recently or something. It's one that when you see online or even pulling up you get a little worried about but it is super clean. Completely surprised. This is a fantastic deal. Very few hotel/motel owners take this kind of pride in their place. Great food and drinks within a short walk. I'd stay here again and again if we came back to this area. If i could give a zero i would. Wifi had only 1 bar. The room is a basic $60 motel who charged me $188 for one night. There is minimal towels,pillows and soaps. I have never felt so ripped off in my life. Thanks to booking.com for messing this booking up. No refund is offered even though there were people looking for rooms. Quick and friendly check in. We had a clean room and bedding. We liked the location a lot because it was 300 feet from a brewery and other restaurants, a few blocks from nail salons, and within a mile of downtown. It's safe where my girlfriend and I were able to walk downtown, stumble back from the brewery, and sleep soundly. It was a quiet inn. read more

Yelled at me for having 2 people visit (not overnight), made us move rooms so that she could easily see our door on surveillance cameras, when she made us move she downgraded our room with no refund, made my fiancé give a $100 cash deposit on top of the $50 they charged to my card all because we had two visitors for dinner, yelled at my friend who came to visit. Overall it's way too expensive, rooms are comparable to motel 6/Super 8 for double the price, and staff is very unfriendly, unaccommodating and obviously likes to profile people. I can't believe this place gets 4.5 stars! Are people out of their minds!! Yelp you really let me down this time! This was quite possibly the worst place I have ever stayed. And I went in with low expecations since I was on a budget trip to Sonoma county wine tasting. PROS: 1. Great Location! Easy access to freeway and short driving distance to lots of Sonoma County wineries! 2. Fast easy check-in & out 3. Refrigerator in room 4. Free wi-fi CONS: 1. Bed: King size bed that looked like it was swaying in toward the center, very low to the ground. 2 tiny lumpy pillows and the sheets were old and covered in nubbins. The comforter was questionable and we pulled that off right away. I question if they are ever washed. 2. Carpet: Super nasty, never took our shoes off when walking around 3. Bring your own bathroom products because they only give you one bottle of a shampoo/conditioner combo and a small bar of soap 4. Towels: SO SMALL. I'm a small girl and it barely fit around me. Not to mention paper thin and our towels were covered in long black curly hairs!! GROSSSS!!! My recommendation would be to spend a few more dollars and stay somewhere a little nicer!! read more

The stay was okay for the most part. It looked clean but when we showered there was a drug needle in between 2 of our towels. This place has all the basic necessities a person needs for a one stay in Santa Rosa. It was one of the cheaper rooms found on Expedia and I had no problems with this place. The hotel lady was nice enough to let me go back in my room (post check-out) just so I can take a shower. A 1930's style classic, within walking distance to shops, Santa Rosa Jr College & High School. I do loads of travelling and my room was large, clean, it had a microwave, frig and minutes to downtown or Hwy 101. It was the best $80,00 I have spent, the rooms were quiet and I will return. We were trying to split our charge between cash and card. We paid cash for one room and was given the key. Then immediately was asked by the lady at the front desk for our card back! She also over charged us for our room and we had to count our money and ask for our money back. She smiled and gave us our change. As we walked away she demanded for us to give the key back and did not allow us to park our car and unload the kids! Worst experience ever! Especially after paying and traveling all day long! It's a basic hotel otherwise would have gone 5 stars. We had the corner room which had new wood floor, new paneling, new paint. Quiet and cozy. Comfortable bed. Large screen tv. Breakfast is bananas and sweet rolls. Basic hotel but well worth the money. Owners very friendly and gracious. Last winter (2018), after several attempts to make phone reservations with the North Bay Inn managers (themselves) at the time, my opinion was REVERSED from contented to DISGUSTED!!! On each call, they were arrogant, impatient, rude, & acted shifty & greedy, as if they didn't want our business. I requested an email confirming our reservation & rates, but that was MORE than they wanted bother with. After several calls, I NO LONGER TRUSTED them so I cancelled. Recent reviews indicate things have not improved. BE VERY CAREFUL if you deal with them!! I don't want them benefitting from my original review, which was only about the PREVIOIUS management. This motor inn is not fancy at all, but it had everything we needed for a weekend wedding visit. The room was quiet, despite being on a busy street. It had all the usual amenities...coffee maker, fridge, microwave, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, TV, WiFi, A/C and the king bed we had was very comfortable. A friend of mine had a wedding up in Sonoma and my girlfriend and I were planning to spend the night in Santa Rosa before heading back down to the South Bay. "Santa Rosa, CA" went into Expedia and out popped a bunch of hotels... Must be because of summer, because things were kind of pricey even there. We ended up deciding on North Bay Inn due to the encouraging reviews and moderate price ($120/night including tax). The room was decent - clean and non-smoking, with a queen, TV, fridge and microwave. One table, 2 chairs and a small desk completed the furniture. It was quaint, but the walls ended up being fairly thin, as the guy next door spent most of the night hacking and coughing and we heard everything through the walls. Would consider coming back if I was in the area again and looking for a place to crash. read more

A positive, non hotel chain, experience. I was desperate for a hotel, since I was traveling, last minute, on business during a very busy fair weekend which caused most rooms to be occupied or horribly overpriced. This was an older hotel, not fancy, but very clean, very well maintained, friendly staff, and in a safe and clean area of town. It was well worth the price and would not mind staying here again. Best thing going for it is that it is walking distance to Lita's cafe, an excellent little place for breakfast, with a husband-wife owner team who were charming! Has microwave, fridge in room. Also hairdryer, but no coffee maker (which we missed!). Air conditioner in room noisy when it turns on. Maid service basic, didn't replace the little plastic cups on the sink, but they delivered cups when we asked. All in all, just ok. read more

I had to go to the emergency room at Sutter Hospital and we were from out of town so my son dropped me off at the hospital at midnight and I asked him and his girlfriend to get a room at a hotel for us. My son is 27 years old. He picked this motel which said the rooms were $89 online. When he got there the price went to $150 for the night and a $100 cash deposit. The room is a motel room. There was lipstick on a towel that was supposed to be clean and the pillows were as hard as concrete. In the morning I asked if there was any coffee and the owners excuse was that because if Covid there was no breakfast or coffee. Stay away from this rip off. read more

This was a very nice hotel right off the Highway 101 and one of the closet hotels to downtown Santa Rosa. We checked in quickly and were given a non smoking king size bed. The room was very clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The TV worked well and had tons of stations. The fridge was super cold and the room also had a microwave. We asked for the owners number and they gave us a bogus number which created more chaos I will definitely be calling their corporate office for a formal complaint. Programmable AC/Tstat, clean and roomy bath, mini fridge, a dresser and a coffee table, two wall lamp shades, dish network. Exterior is well kept and even the AC units are trimmed in a way so they look hidden. Could've been renovated recently. 1.5 miles away from Russian River and a few necessity shops/food across the street. Kudos on the awesome customer service - very friendly staff! We stayed here for a few days while visiting Sonoma wine country. Our stay was completely satisfactory. The room was a little small but not to the point of being cramped. As the hotel is on one of the main streets in Santa Rosa, we could occasionally here traffic which might be a problem if you are a very light sleeper. While nothing special, this hotel offers a nice, reasonably priced place to stay in the heart of Sonoma county. read more

Perfect if you're looking for a clean, spacious, comfortable room with no frills. The room and bathroom are large and clean. There's airconditioning, a fridge and microwave, cups for water, and best of all... free wifi. They have coffee and pastries to go in the morning. I've checked in here extremely late a couple of times and there is always someone available. This place is perfect for a quick trip to Napa. read more
