I have been visiting my sister in the area and this spot has been a family favorite forever. It's small, but quaint. The breakfast sandwiches were on point, which was nice because they are a little spendy at $7 a pop. Cold brew flight was meh for $15, but I appreciate the effort and the opportunity to taste test. Overall employees were nice and I loved the vibe. I'd definitely recommend.

If you need a warm and cozy latte on a rainy Lake Superior day, look no further. This tiny gem had it all. Ambiance 5 - cozy lake vibe Service 5 - staff was friendly, attentive and helpful Drinks 5 - awesome white chocolate oat milk latte. Delish. Also enjoyed the peppermint lavender latte.

Coffee hit the spot in such a critical way and the barista was so friendly and informative of the area. The road that the shop was on was under road construction so I had to park a block away.. I highly, highly recommend. Delicious brew.

Just look for the coffee cup by the side of State Highway 13

Great staff, amazing pastries, however the espresso was sour and acrid. I cant even finish it. Perhaps the extraction/temperature is off.

They made us some great lattes! Worth the construction detours. We also had some small scoops of ice cream, delicious.

Great cup of coffee after a cold hike. Staff was really nice and it was a quaint spot with a personal touch.

First off, she won't serve anyone who is on their cell phone so make sure your pictures are taken after you visit. I appreciated this as it reminded me of my time in France where patrons are encouraged to stay, mingle and live in a world without screens. I wish we had more of this. Secondly, she doesn't have a cell phone. She lives on the island with a good old fashioned land line. Again, if you ask me, I love this for her. I told her that Mission Hill had great Yelp reviews and she giggled asking who is even writing about these things. All this to say, if you want to support local when in Madeline Island, this is a great opportunity, Mission Hill also carries produce such as vegetables in season and other local pantry items such as honey and syrup. There are all sorts of other items as well like beeswax candles, sweatshirts and board games. My husband ordered a regular coffee and I got a hot Americano with a shot of vanilla. Both were normal and nothing extra or fancy. In summary, this shop brought me so much joy and simplicity. I hope to live my life in my older age similar to the owner. Thank you for inspiring me!!!
