What an absolute nightmare this place is. I was referred here by their "sister office" for a root canal. Upon arrival the girl up front was nice, checked me in, and notified me that my insurance covered the xrays that I needed that could range up to $700 otherwise. $60 co-pay, Great start! This is where everything goes sideways, I get xrays, I know my tooth is in very, very bad shape but the doc comes in and basically says he needs to do the most work and the most expensive treatment and completely re-do everything. Well, of course thats the case right? I ask when they can schedule me and they say right now! Perfect, I get taken back to the same xray machine for a second xray, then back to the room where the doc spends 5 minutes removing my temporary filling and then saying he can't do the work (I'm summarizing here, it was 20 minutes later, the first 5 I got numbed up, spent 10 waiting). Well, what the heck? What do I do now? They slap a tiny piece of temp in this giant hole in my gum, refund me all but $650 for an xray. The xray the girl said I was covered by insurance. But this one was a different special xray on the same machine doing the same thing that I have to pay for? The Dr "used" the xray I'm told. Used it how? I'm not sure, I spent $700 in 3 hours and left the office in much worse shape that I entered, no work done, the temporary that I came in with was gone so my gums and infected tooth are now exposed and bleeding. It's also the weekend and I can't get back to my original office till Tuesday morning so this will be 4 days like this. All in all, I feel like I was price gouged, poor customer service, negligent treatment, and mislead through the entire process when in the end all they had to do was look at my tooth and know. read more

Endodontist, Dr. Haymore, was very kind and concerned about my comfort. Worked quickly and I had minimal discomfort after a revision on a root canal, plus a root canal on a different tooth. Dr. Nguyen provided antibiotics before and after the procedure and finished up the job with crowns today. He is also very kind and answered all of my questions. Mayra in the front office is SO SWEET and always has a smile for everyone. Yes, the procedures were expensive, but I think that would be the case anywhere. read more

If I could give a zero star review, I would. This is a long one and I do apologize. First and foremost, I do want to recognize the front office staff for how much they did try, especially Marisol but unfortunately, the entire experience with North County Dental Specialties, at least with Orthodontics specifically, is not one I can recommend. My consultation was Jan. 16. The orthodontist is only in on Thursdays, the soonest appointment was Feb. 6 to have my scans done and pay the deposit. It unfortunately was only downhill from here. I called March 10 and March 20 to follow up. Was told on March 25 that my trays had been lost and I needed to come back in March 30. When I got there and sat in the lobby, I overheard a woman behind the desk go "well who's going to help her?" extremely unprofessional. When i was finally assisted back, I was informed that my trays were NOT lost but that my bite needed to be rescanned. I was told they would TRY to rush the trays, as I had already waited a month. I got confirmation on April 3 that my trays had been sent in. I gave it some time, knowing North County Dental Specialties were really just the middle man but by April 30, I had not heard anything and followed up once more. Nothing. May 1st, I receive a text that I need to come in and get scans YET AGAIN?!? So from Feb. 6 to May 1st, I had put down a $500 deposit and received nothing more than a toothbrush and no service?? I understand that there are other patients and that things happen but for this to happen now twice with no corrective action? What a joke, and what a waste of time. Unfortunately, this does not end here. On May 1st, i let the office know that i wanted a refund on my deposit and to cancel my contract with no penalty as i had not seen any service from them whatsoever, they agreed. The next day, Friday May 2 they charged me another $488. When I noticed Monday, May 5, I called and left a message because no one picked up, but called again as I wanted to reach a real person. I was told i was being placed on hold, and then after waiting 5 minutes, was sent to a voicemail which I did NOT agree to. when i called again and was told to hold, i told them i needed to talk to someone know because this was unacceptable and was still placed on a hold. when i did come off hold this time (which confirms someone did send me to a voicemail, not that it just transferred me over after x amount of time waiting) she told me she couldn't help me. rather than offering me alternatives of what she could do (for example: let a manager know and have her call me back asap) she just continued to tell me SHE couldn't help me. when i did hear from a manager, she told me i needed to fill out termination of contract paperwork in order to issue the deposit refund, which was never stated to me on May 1 when we agreed to terminate the contract. I would not recommend this place at all. One of the receptionist was very rude to me. She kept snapping at me on the phone. It did not matter how nicely I would talk to her. I was not able to get hold of some one else to express my concerns to over the phone so I wrote a letter describing my situation, but no reply. When it was time for me appointment I mentioned what happened to the dentist and he gave me no comments. The dentist started to work on my tooth which he would evaluate if it could be saved or not. He basically jackhammered my tooth with full force for 2 minutes got up and said I can not save your tooth and he left. I had this rubber tent applied to my mouth for the treatment and he left me like that so I would not be able to ask any questions. It was really awkward so I wanted to express my concern on here to share. They told me that I needed to pull the tooth and a implant would be $5700 to put in. Quite a chock. I Googled a dentist in Mexico w good reviews and went there. In Mexico it will be $2000 so a lot less. The dentist in Mexico looked at my tooth and discovered that all I needed was a root canal. Dr. Wong - Your Manager Ms. Dxxxxxxe has had me on hold for almost 7 months --waiting for a Service. She told me I had to pay 500.00 for a special machine to scan my teeth so I could get a tooth pulled. I also came in for approval for a partial denture. My first appointment was Sept 16th 2024 and my procedure that I needed was approved Dec 31 2024. They did not submit it in a timely manner at all, I have had to call and call to get anything done. I had to email her the proof from my ins co. that the denture was approved. I emailed her the approval letter I received in Jan and she said today that they never got anything from insurance. I sent her the document in Jan. No follow up , no call, no nothing. And I had to call again today to find out why she has not contacted me, it's been at least a month since I emailed her that document that she should have already had on her end. Today she tells me her grandmother died as the reason she has not gotten back to me. I would never recommend you to anyone not even a bear with a toothache. The 500.00 machine used to x-ray before you can pull one single tooth is a scam. No reply from this dental office will be accepted. They do not call you back or update you. Did new patient screening and only came for deep cleaning but now they said i needed wisdom teeth pulled apparently before i can get that. So i agreed and they sent the request to insurance. After a month i call asking what's going on and if i can just do a cleaning without needing my wisdom tooth removed, it doesn't hurt or anything at all. They state they will ask their supervisor and call back. They never did, i called 2 weeks later inquiring the same thing they said it usually takes 4-6 weeks, i told them it has been 4-6 weeks and i just want my teeth cleaned. They said again they have to talk to a supervisor and will call me back if i can get my teeth cleaned. So 2 months total just to get some x rays and never get my teeth cleaned. This place is a joke, anyone you talk to will just tell you they will call you back later with no actual explanation. The dentist for people that don't like going to the dentist. I've been through dozens of dentists and Dr. Qaisar is among the best, if not the best, I've ever seen. Her technique in administering the anesthetic is so gentle and should be taught in all dental schools. It's not pain-free, I mean it's still a needle, but it's as close as one can possibly get. I've had crowns, root canals, onlays, and fillings performed in this office and I highly recommend their services, professionalism, and most of all, care! read more

I would highly recommend NCDS for your oral surgery needs. Dr. Kermani did my wisdom teeth extraction. Going to the dentist let alone, getting teeth pulled is never a fun thing to do. I don't remember a thing! Followed all of their advice as well as directions and my experience was great. Once they put that Michael Jackson Juice in your IV, you are out! Wake up at home relaxing.
