I reached out to the shop for a head gasket repair. They had the car for over two weeks. The owner Shawn told me the car was ready on a Friday. I picked the car up and barely made it to the gas station 2 minutes away. I called the owner and his reply was that I hired him to fix the head gasket and that is what he did. He did not care that I was stranded. He basically refused to correct the problem. My car was towed to another shop on Sunday. Please read all BBB complaints prior to doing business with this shop. I told them I want to replace the heat exchanger on the prius.. ok no problem - find out from another shop they replaced the wrong thing.. Also if you are going to go here and I really recommend you go somewhere else.. Make sure you video and take pictures of your car before you leave it with them.. And understand they have 100's of cars like a junk yard and with 100's of keys to manage and you risk the samething that happened to me - they backed a car into my car and didn't tell me. Make sure you take video and pictures when you pick up your car. @ $145 dollar a hour and the fact that you never know when your car is going to be ready. And the fact you have to wait 1 hour to get your car when it's ready - you really are better off paying the difference to a more professional shop.. I had a situation where I really needed my truck repaired. My wife had just been called out of town due to her mothers failing health. I had promised my daughter that I would pick up my Grandson from school and my truck started running rough and I was afraid it would stop on the road somewhere. I called Sean, the manager of the North Georgia Auto Repair and told him my situation and he not only brought me back home when I dropped my truck off, he promised that he would help me pick up my Grandson from school if needed. They moved my truck in that morning and were able to diagnose and make the needed repair and have me and my truck on my way before 1:30 PM when I needed to go pick up my Grandson. DO NOT TRUST THEM! PAID FOR SERVICES THAT WERE NEVER ACTUALLY DONE! I brought my vehicle here after a car accident. The insurance company paid for multiple things to be done. NG Auto received payment from them for the repairs and I have discovered that many of the repairs they were paid to do were never done. The repairs they did do were poor quality. My bumper has a gap under the front head light and the fender is now cracking again. I attempted to resolve this issue with NG Auto by having them issue a refund so I could have this done properly. I really wished I would have read these reviews before doing business there, everything they said about Sean is true, he's a racist, he doesn't have any respect for black customers, he gives you one price and charges you another. Right now at this very moment, Sean is holding my car hostage for an additional $200 . After paying him $4000 to replace my engine an having some other work done. 3 months later my engine won't start, they said I have a 6 months warranty on the engine, but just so happens that should I need the service ,I would have to pay for my the tow,ok ,fine, I arranged my tow. Get my vehicle to the shop, Sean who already seemed annoyed that I attempted to do business with him again was basically pulling numbers out the air when he as telling my how much to repair it. I kinda figured they would do what mechanics do and find another problem outside of the warranted item. And he did. He said it was going to be $600 to replace my fuel pump. I told him that was a brand new fuel pump that was literally just put in, he said it's defective, not working, I said Ok, thought that was kinda high priced, but I agreed to the $600 fuel pump replacement. At the end of the conversation I said I'm going to need that old fuel pump back ,im gonna return it, it cost me $200 , the next day when I called to pay for my vehicle, he said, first it was $772, I said that's a long ways from $600 , instantly, he went from a business man to a thug in a dark alley holding a knife to your side. He literally cursed me out, called me a stupid cunt mfer, i was still trying to figure out what was happening here , and then I heard cunt, he threw me for a straight loop, because I'm male, but nonetheless, I'm still processing this and then he hangs up on me. I called back and asked what happened to the $600 I agreed to pay? He said it's $799 because the fuel pump was $299 ,and once again he started cursing me again and says the fuel pump cost $399 and if I don't pay him $800 I'm not getting my car back, cursing the whole time like some Deranged racist needing a situation to go south to justify their actions. He literally told me "you either pay me $800 or F-u and F your car, and I only take Cash " and hung up on me. Now at this moment I'm literally filling Court papers to get my vehicle back, in conclusion, anyone, black or white, do not take your vehicle there, your experience will not be pleasant. My daughter had her car repaired at N G Auto, Inc in Acworth, GA, http://northgaauto.com/ . and in my opinion was scammed by them. In fact everything in this post is my opinion of the company. N G Auto, Inc in Acworth, GA flat out lied when they promised to save her from paying her deductible. They even claim they might be able to avoid your deductible on their Facebook page. If they remove their post it at the bottom of this post is a quote from their page. The bondo job they did is cracking and about to fall off of the vehicle only a few months after being "repaired". So I called and Shawn tells me they have a lifetime guarantee on all their work but that I owed 750 dollars for deductible my daughter did not pay. The manager or owner Shawn claims my daughter when 17 years old signed a contract that she owes more money after the vehicle had been repaired. This guy would not let me get a word in and claimed I was the one constantly interrupting. Maybe because he never shut his trap to let me speak. The photo at the bottom of this post shows their work after only a few months. The photo is only a small section of the entire quarter panel which is cracking and will likely fall off soon. I took my old Suzuki to North Georgia Automotive to get some body work done and I'm very satisfied with the speed and quality of their work. I had another estimate done off Buford Hwy but I stuck with Shawn (the owner) because I felt he was honest and respected my old car; I've been with her for a number of years now. I had my engine replaced. I paid $3655 .Picked my car up 3 weeks later. I was promised a 6 month warranty with free towing if there was a problem. It tore up the NEXT day. When I called and reported the problem. Owner could care less. Didnt return my call. I called again later . He said he would tow it in at my expense. No loaner which had veen promised earlier before I paid him. In other words Im just SOL out $3655. DONT GO THERE.My engine lasted 1 day. It ran good for one day. I waiting to post this review until my 6 month warranty was near expiring. After talking to Shaun (sp?) I had the motor replaced in my 2009 car with 150k+ miles. I debated throwing more money at an old car due to the risks but the car had been a great car until it suddenly started using oil and ran mostly dry (the light never came on even when the death rattle started - but it lit up before cranking). It was replaced with a low mileage motor. After talking to Shaun (sp?) I decided to proceed. As others said, communications were not great but having done my own mechanic work many years ago (from necessity) he seemed to know a lot of details about my car that are unusual. When I first got the car back, i noticed it was dropping oil. I took it back for the 2 week checkup and it was quicky fixed (the pressure sending unit, not gasket leaks). Later I noticed the car smoked slightly - but after sitting over a weekend the next startup was a a full blown cloud of smoke. I wondered if I had made a mistake and took the car back in. He replaced the valve guide seals after explaining it was age and not wear. This is not a small repair and cost them some labor hours - and it worked. The car is not using or dropping a bit of oil. So this experience was a process, but I can say for sure that Shaun stands behind his work - and in fact I have recommended him to some friends. read more

I took my car to have the coils replaced and spark plugs. I just found out today when a coil went out that I was ripped off by Sean yet again. He totally put the wrong kind of spark plugs in my car along with an off label coils that should not have been put in my Acura RSX. They charged way too much for the parts they used. Also, don't buy a car from him. My dad bought my daughter a car from him for graduation and it was a lemon. My poor dad sunk a lot of money in the car to keep it running. The car was crap. I have had two engines replaced here (different cars) and the prices are fair and the work is done well. They are NOT GOOD at communicating but you kind of expect that from a mechanic. It's been over a year since i've had my motor installed and there have been no issues. I had an immediate issue with the oil pressure indicator and brought it back to them and they fixed it immediately. We even discussed my original review and got some clarity although I still have issues with the way things were handled initially. Okay I didn't get burned once. I gave them a second chance and got burned twice. Once I had a used engine put in my 2002 Honda. The repair included a charge for motor mounts but when I picked it up it was grinding. "Sean" told me the brakes were "grabbing". So I had it looked at by another mechanic - but it wasn't the brakes. THE CAR NEEDED A MOTOR MOUNT!!! That was another 700.00 but I got it done at another shop. I sat in his office and heard him tell everyone who called that they needed an extra 250.00 worth of work done for a "transmission seal" regardless of the repair. Then I had my 1997 Ford Van towed there and they supposedly put brakes all around and a the fuel pump. The cost was 1800.00!! After I picked it up i just wasn't running right so I took it to another shop for a review. Guess what....it needed brakes AND gas tank repair.!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. DON"T BE A SUCKER LIKE I WAS. The person I was dealing with was this guy named Shawn. I paid 3000$ for a rebuilt motor that was over priced. This took him months. I called every other week and he kept making excuses. When I finally got my car it was things he needed to do after I drove it. Once again I took it to him and waited months. The best auto repair experience I have ever had! My 2004 Mitsubishi Galant died of engine failure at 225K and I decided to replace the engine as opposed to buying a new car. Sean and the folks at North Georgia Automotive were able to replace my engine for me at a great price and was even nice enough to let me borrow a loner vehicle while my car was being repaired (loaner only offered on MAJOR repairs btw). Like most of us, I have had my share of negative experiences with shady mechanics and rip - off repair shops, and I assure you this is not one of them! This is a great shop that I can't recommend strongly enough! Great service, fair and honest prices, and a very friendly staff. I brought my car to them after being screwed out of $600 of (totally unnecessary) work by another shop, just for them to tell me my engine needed $2500 MORE in work just to inspect and diagnose properly. Shaun read the estimate, checked over the car, and told me exactly what it needed, and even more importantly what it DIDN'T need. I wound up getting a new engine with a 6 month warranty for less than half of what the other shop wanted just to tear apart and CHECK my old engine. Unlike most shops today they have free loaner cars available if you're getting major work done, and they don't screw you on "diagnostic" charges. Those $60-100 diagnostic fees to plug in a scan tool and check a computer add up fast elsewhere, but I've never seen a charge from them. They have very honest and fair prices and will work with you if someone else gives you a better quote. In addition, Shaun really does go above and beyond for his customers. I brought my car in to have the catalytic converter replaced, and when they finished and it still wasn't running well he not only took the time to figure out why but Shaun even replaced the iffy fuel injectors at no charge -- something that previous shop charged me $600 to do incorrectly! All in all they're my new family mechanics, and I'm sticking with them even while I'm living 40+ miles away on the other side of the city! read more

When it comes to North Ga Auto in Acworth Ga DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!!! Disappointing and COSTLY is the best I can say. I had used North Ga Auto before for a rebuilt engine and although not completely satisfied with their work or customer service I justified the problems by saying they did as good a job as anyone else would probably have done. That being said the transmission job they just "completed" on a 2000 Jeep Cherokee with over 250K was horrendous and costly. Timeline: 9/7/16 - transmission appeared to go out - contacted North Ga Auto - car picked up 10/4/16 - One month of rental car charges later the car was finally "ready" (loaner vehicles are available from North Ga Auto but when you see them you'll pay for rental). During the four weeks they had the vehicle several calls were made to North Ga Auto requesting updates but I was always told "I'll call you back". Not once did that call come. I had elected to have a couple of other items repaired while they had it but the delay always blamed on the transmission work. Due to a new customer project I was unable to pick up the Cherokee up until later in the week but now communications FROM North Ga were many and often wanting payment. Said they didn't care when I picked it up but needed payment asap. NOW they can make a phone call. 10/7/16 - After a $32 + tip UBER fare (North Ga Auto is approximately 30 miles from my customer project) I picked vehicle up and headed for Greenville SC (approximately 150 miles away). Engine light came on about ¾ of the way to Greenville but all instruments registered ok and no obvious issues occurred other than the light. Being in transportation for over thirty (30) years I've seen my share of faulty panel lights but contacted North Ga Auto to advise them of the issue. I was told it was probably a faulty sensor light and bring it back when possible and it would be checked out. 10/24/16 - finally scheduled back to Atlanta. It made it to my customer's location but the transmission failed again and would not go in to gear. Contacted North Ga Auto and car was picked up 10/25/16. Another rental vehicle starts. Approximately a week + later I was told the computer was now bad and one was ordered. Would only be about $75. Amazing that the return problem is never a warranty issue. 11/18/16 - After several follow up calls for a status I was finally told the computer was installed and the car was ready but now cylinder 5 was misfiring and could be repaired at a cost (I don't remember how much) pretty quick. The one thing I have always known and practiced is for good customer service you fix the issue requested BEFORE you try suggestive selling. As North Ga Auto tried to sell me something else I was in the process of explaining that I wanted to make sure the original problem was corrected before we started spending more $$$. I'm sure my tone probably showed obvious frustration because about midway of saying no to the add on work I was cut off and told to "just come get your vehicle" and they hung up. 11/18/16 - Another UBER fare to North Ga Auto. Upon arrival my contact suspiciously was not available but one of the ladies finally found my invoice and said no charge. I questioned the no charge rate since I'd been told the computer part was at least $75 but she verified the "repairs" were no charge and then spent ten (10) minutes trying to find my keys. Keys finally located and within one mile of leaving North Ga Auto I discovered why there had been no charge. Truly believe nothing was ever done in the time it had been there. I did find an oil filter box in the front seat which was strange since an oil change was not completed on my vehicle. I started to take the vehicle back again but decided I had LOST enough $$$ and time with this issue. Fortunately the car made it back to my customer's location. They have an equipment and vehicle mechanic that they recommended take a look at the problem. Per his inspection the transmission rear seal was leaking and he stated that the gasket was never replaced. Transmission rebuild???? His best guess is the extra work I had originally requested was probably completed due to the ease of the job and higher profit and the transmission was well???? I'm not sure there was ever a transmission problem to start with??? ALL that being said. A $1900 transmission rebuild has at last count cost about $3000 +. My first thought was to scream, curse, and possibly legal action but I have obviously wasted enough time and $$$ here. Mechanic for my customer handled the rear seal issue, new plugs and wires for the cylinder 5 issue, and a couple of other little items I had planned for North Ga Auto to complete once they repaired my main concern. His cost, along with parts, was less than $300. Please take this for what it is worth. Talk to multiple repair centers and check out their BBB Rating as well as any reviews posted from clients. read more

It's been 6 months since they replaced an engine that had bad lifters. They said it was a sludge problem and the whole thing had to be replaced. They replaced my engine with one that I don't know anything about. They didn't tell me what it was out of, the miles on it or the vin the motor came out of. then they said all three motor mounts were broke, and the transmission cooler was leaking, wanted more money to fix. They had already charged me tax twice on the job. Not once in the time since they fixed it have I heard anything from them. They got paid, that 's all they care about. The motor mounts were not broken, the transmission cooler wasn't leaking, and my heater doesn't work. They more than likely put the hoses on backwards or something like that. Every bolt on the oil pan and transmission pan was loose.I just want to warn everyone to STAY AWAY. I don't want anything to do with them, I will do everything in my power to warn others about them. Take your business elsewhere. This place is a nightmare! I needed to get my transmission rebuilt (or so I thought) and chose this place after going through some ads. The Bonus was free towing and a rental car for major repairs like mine, the quoted price was in line with all the others. I was in a hurry and wish now that I had done more research on this company. I have so many issues with the way my vehicle was handled and the poor communication (NONE at all unless you call them) that I don't know where to start. I have a Nissan Pathfinder and we thought the transmission was bad, the owner, Shaun, said that my radiator might have been cracked and that would cause the transmission to go bad. Nobody offered any information or called us to let us know that the radiator for sure needed to be changed but he assured us, after asking him, that the radiator was cracked and needed to be replaced. First I got the run around after being told it would be 3 -4 days to finish repairs, then when we start to check on it we got "you have some parts on back order and I don't know when they are coming in." Really, isn't it 2016, isn't everything tracked almost to the minute or at the very least you get an expected arrival date but he has NO IDEA??? After about 2 weeks it was finally time to pick my truck up. The whole driver's side was soaked (not exactly how you want to get your truck back after paying $3,000 to have it fixed)!!! I finally leave with my "Rebuilt" transmission and "NEW" radiator and I am so excited to have a vehicle back. Well I get not even 1 mile up the road and I run out of gas. We called the shop since it was extremely close. We told them what happened and asked if they could bring just a bit of gasoline so I could make it a mile or 2 to a gas station. After waiting for 30 minutes we had no gas, no call back and no help from North GA Auto . . . obviously they had my $3,000 and didn't care that I was on the side of the road. We finally got our own gas, put some in the truck and then the truck will NOT start . . . battery is DEAD now. So an hour or so later I am back on the road (feeling like all this has to be a joke, right?) and I begin to notice that my truck is doing the same EXACT thing that it did before. We call Shaun and tell him that my truck is doing the same thing as it was before I took it to him. He tells us to bring it back in but make sure we bring it straight back to him. So we drive it back out there so he can look at it and we were hoping to get a rental car while he is working on it but he informs us that the rental cars are for "active" orders only. So you didn't fix my car and I bring it back to you to fix . . . I think that is pretty active in my book. We reluctantly left our truck with him again so it can be fixed. No one calls us with an update or tells us the truck is ready. Finally after another 4 days with a car we call him & he tells us we can come pick it up because there is nothing wrong with our truck. We took our truck to another shop & asked them to test drive it and tell us what is wrong with it. We were shocked to find out that I STILL have the FACTORY transmission and radiator that was on my truck the whole time. The transmission has never been removed and there is nothing wrong with my radiator. So I would really like to know how this guy sleeps at night taking people's hard earned money like that and just doesn't care? read more

Total crooks. Charged a 3000 storage fee while we collected money for an engine replacement.

Please do not do business withe this company the owner (Shawn) is nasty and the towing company that he uses is Gibbs Towing and Automotive Repair and they are very unprofessional. We were given a quote of $2495.00 in order to replace the engine of our 2003 Kia Sorento EX on August 28, 2010. We paid $500.00 towards the repairs in order for Mr. John (I don't know last name) to start the work on our car. We informed him that we would have the money for the car on September 9th, we would like for the car to be ready then. We were told that was fine. On September 9th, the first engine that came was the wrong engine and the correct engine just came the day before, so we could expect the car to be done on Saturday the 11th or Monday the 13th. On Monday I was told that the car was not done yet. Mr. John did offer me a loaner car, as I informed him that we were borrowing someone else's car while we waited on our car to be repaired. I informed Mr. John we did not need the loaner car. I stated I would call back on Wednesday, September 15th. I asked Mr. John when he actually started working on the car and he informed me that they put the car on the back burner since my husband told him that we wouldn't have all the money they first got the car (a lie). Wednesday morning I was told that there was a part that needed to be replaced that they were waiting to come from Kia. On Friday, September 17th, still waiting on the part from Kia, it was on a truck and he wasn't sure when the part would be there. When asked when he actually started working on our car Mr. John became very defensive and would not answer my question. He threatened to stop working on our car and return our $500.00. Mr. John then spoke to my husband and assured us that the car would be done no later than Monday the 20th. On 9/18 my husband spoke to Mr. John and authorized him to flush the radiator, replace the motor mounts and seal the transmission as well (as he recommended). Told the transmission seal would be free for all the inconvenience. We now have an invoice for an additional $389.63 for a remaining balance of $2385.65. We offered Mr. John $2000.00 to settle in full and he would not accept it. read more
