We visited Carlisle, PA to attend the annual Corvette event. We loved the location of Pitt Street Station as it was within walking distance of our Air BnB. The service was excellent both evenings! Yes! We chose to enjoy dinner two nights in a row! We were thrilled, and blessed to have Meg as our server, both visits. Meg was attentive, engaging and very knowledgeable of the menu. She was a pure delight. The first evening we ordered the Meatball Sliders as an Appetizer. What incredible flavor and texture these meatballs have! All meat! The red sauce was wonderfully bright with true authentic Italian sauce. My husband and I shared the sliders and the Cubana sandwich. What fabulous flavors in the Cubana as well. The bread had a nice crunch on the outside with soft bites inside. Delicious!! The second night we enjoyed delicious Spaghetti and those wonderful Meatballs along with the best Chicken Marsala we've ever enjoyed. We will visit the next time we are in Carlisle. read more

Pitt Street Station offers a number of items that would work for vegetarians and gluten free patrons. As for vegans, well, there isn't much. Thankfully the restaurant is willing to accommodate (like leaving the cheese off a pizza) so there are vegan items to be crafted. It would just be cool if there were one or two items designed with vegans in mind. So, after some hocus pocus work, I decided on The Puttanesca Pizza and a non-alcoholic Cinnamon Vanilla Mule. The Puttanesca Pizza typically features olive tapenade, house tomato sauce, shaved Romano and rosemary gremolata. The waitress said it would be no problem to leave off the Romano. The Cinnamon Vanilla Mule contains cinnamon-vanilla syrup and ginger beer. Thankfully no substitutions needed here. The pizza at Pitt Street Station is bar style. A thin, chewy crust with the toppings layered on top. I found the crust to be pretty good. I like the combo of tapenade and house tomato sauce but did find it a tad salty. Can't imagine what it is like with the Romano added in. The Cinnamon Vanilla Mule was very good. I liked the balance of all the components. It was cool to see some non alcoholic cocktails on the menu and to have them be really good. I would return to Pitt Street Station if meeting up with someone because the place is accommodating to dietary needs but until some actual vegan items are on the menu it won't be somewhere I seek out on my own. read more

Been in the building many times over the years in its other iterations - finally made it to the 'Station' - they did great job modernizing the inside ...great menu to boot. Nice vibe & our water was friendly & checked in on us several times. I went with a standard Mushroom Burger - good seasoning, good bread - a cut above a plain 'ol burger. A nice stop if you're going from Philly to Pittsburgh or vice versa for instance. Huge bar, interesting menu, good service. We saw a male waiter run out of the restaurant to catch up to a customer who had left behind one of their belongings for instance. They have a section of the bar that has open windows so nice inside/outside setup. Only issue is that cell coverage in there (at least for some carriers) is bad, in case you need to look something up on your phone. Would stop here again if I'm in the area. Tip: Park around the corner at the old school parking meters which are cheaper than the newer ones on the main strip. read more

Found this place while walking and shopping in Carlisle! It's definitely worth stopping in! We were greeted and seated immediately. The menu has a great selection of items from appetizers to salads and sandwiches to pizzas. My friend and I shared the pretzel appetizer. It came with 2 sauces. Both were delicious. A couple of the pretzel knots were a bit doughy though in the center but we ate around them. I decided on the pulled pork sandwich with fries. The bun was nicely toasted, pork was tender and the fries were crispy. I would order it again but they have a Cuban which is always one of my favorites. My friend ordered the fig pizza! Wow!! It did. It disappoint! The crust was crispy and the pizza was full of flavor! The decor is inviting and the server was attentive. We will be back. read more

We went to Carlisle on a Friday night to check out the food and drinks at several establishments. This was the very best of 3. It is clean the staff is attentive. The food is excellent and the portion size is huge. While I don't see us going back to Carlisle anytime either soon or later, Pitt Street Station was the one shining light. read more

The food was delicious. As promised in previous reviews. We started off with the haystacks as appetizers and they were scrumptious. Then we both had a salad. The gem salad with the blue cheese and bacon sweet dressing was wonderful. The ambiance is really nice. We sat by the open bay window at a high top table that we stood at since we popped in here off the turnpike. It is just 8 minutes from the turnpike. By the way! We would definitely come by again. Had dinner here the other night with the wife. Parking is sort of where you can find it. We had to park about a block and a half away on the street. Very bar / pub like atmosphere. The place used to have booths, I think, but its all tables and seating at the bar. They have gluten free and vegan marked on the menu. We had the Irish nachos as a "small plates" item. It was great, but it is NOT a small plate. I had the smoked wings, which was great and the wife had the Burrito, which she liked. Was very loud there and was busy, but the wait staff did a great job and the food came out pretty quickly. Would stop back, maybe in the mid afternoon when it won't be as loud. read more

Situated in historic downtown Carlisle, this former train station has been updated with black and white/sepia wall décor and a simple yet contemporary theme. Service was excellent! Informed my server that I would like extra water before we started and my glass was ne'er empty the whole evening! There was another server, to whom I inquired to regarding the building's history, who said she would be happy to share with me a picture of the building before it was a restaurant! She did so without missing a beat! There was also another young gentleman who filled our drinks several times who was just as kind and accommodating. Bravo to you all! Finally, the fare: superb! The chicken wings are dusted with what I believe to be a chili lime seasoning that is nothing short of addictive. the Station burger is seasoned to perfection, as are the adjoining chips (fries to yanks). Went with some friends tonight. Pretty good. Boutique-y... First, I had: Station Fries -- $10 Beef Tallow Fried, House Smoked Ketchup, Cashew Aioli. These were EXCELLENT!! I ordered with my burger. Cashew Aioli... wow!! Great. Bluesy Burger -- $16 Carwood Farm Beef, Gorgonzola Stuffed, Bacon Jam, Fried Shallot, Toasted Brioche. Came with chips. Excellent burger -- really tasty. Chips were hard. I am not really a chip fan with my burgers. Next time I'll make sure to just get the fries. I had a draft Yueng, of course. No dessert as I was too full. Didn't eat all the fries and chips, took a bunch of that home. Again, get the fries. read more

The drinks took a little bit, but not a big deal. We ordered our food, just a mushroom burger and a Cuban with the beef tallow fries. I was looking forward to the burger described in the menu. What we got was a cold cut sandwich and a very greasy weird smelling burger. Neither entree had any flavor, very little condiments and maybe 4 mushrooms on the burger. My husband's fries were semi warm and mine were cold. Sad day for sure. Needless to say, we will not return. read more
