I've seen this place a couple of times on instagram and decided to give it a try with one of my close friends for her belated birthday dinner. Ambiance 10/10 Very light hearted and intimate. Perfect for a date night, girls night or even a solo date! We got there closer to 7:30 on a Thursday so we didn't need a reservation. It's a little loud but we were still able to have a conversation amongst ourselves. Service 10/10 Our server was so nice and funny. He was very patient with us since this was our first time here. Definitely had good recommendations and was honest about what was good to try. He was super attentive and the food came out relatively quick. Food 12/10 The food was greatttttt!!!!! We started out with the focaccia which was light and fluffy. It paired well with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar dipping oil. I had the spicy rigatoni and my friend had the lasagna. We were very happy with our entrees. My pasta was creamy spicy and very flavorful! Not going to lie should have order another for to-go. For dessert I got the seasonal butter cake which had caramel, bananas and vanilla ice cream. It was fabulous and the perfect way to finish off the night. My friend got the tiramisu and she loved it as well. I need to come back here again to try more food because man.... Everything was great!

Can we talk about how delicious the bread was? Omg!! we ended up ordering two because it was that good. Mind you, it was just the two of us, but we had zero regrets. Our bellies were very happy with that decision! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also loved the ambiance of the place, it had such a great vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was excellent as well. Not only was our server attentive, but the entire staff made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. Overall, such a wonderful dining experience!

The pasta is even better- our faves are the squid ink and braised rib lumache! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plenty of seating inside plus if you park in the colonial garage, you get parking validation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Can't wait to be back!

I guess this place is a chain that does it well. Good pizza (tried the margherita and the sauce slapped), salad options (I liked the seasonal veg salad though I would ask for dressing on the side, they always overdress). They have a great drinks and wine list (including mocktails). I'd return!

The lady next to me said, "They sat all the Asians together!" I look and sure enough, it was a line of 3 tables and all Asian. I didn't even notice at first, I really do think it was a coincidence but the lady had strong thoughts. Food was alright! The Crushed meatball ragu was very simple and heavy. Probably something you could make at home. Still a good option if you like spaghetti. Spicy Rigatoni was excellent! Drinks were good!

Placed the order online and the pickup process went without a hitch. The eggplant Parmesan was nice and light. No oozing water or sogginess. The pasta didn't have a strong pesto taste. The pine nuts and capers didn't really add a contrasting crunch or flavors. It was rather bland and everything tasted mushy. I found some shreds of chicken that looked and tasted ropey / dry and stringy. My biggest gripe is the portion sizes of the food. As you can see in the pictures, the eggplant Parmesan arrived in a giant container looking like I already ate 75% of it. I understand it's supposed to be an appetizer and such, but it hardly had any sauce or anything beyond what was literally pictured. The pasta situation was the same. Few spoonfuls of mushy pasta and your meal is over. The order came with nothing else. No utensils, no accompanying salads or bread. For a $50 takeaway meal, I expected better than this. Would I order from here again? Probably not. I think the food is overpriced for what it is. There are many nicer Italian restaurants in the area with similar price points that provides better quality of food and value.

This place is really good but WAY overpriced. The plates were melamine....sorry way overpriced to serve in melamine. The lady could not find my reservation. i had to show her. but something is wrong with their system because this happened to a friend of mine back in February as well. They ran out of ranch and N/A prosseco. It is okay bc the food was good. We ordered the fried zucca chips. OVERLY SALTED. did not enjoy. The burrata was delicious. I would get that again. The chicken parmesan was delicious. but it was odd it came with mac and cheese ziti or some kind of cheese sauce. Usually you serve chicken parm with spaghetti and sauce? The Bolognese was delicious and same with the chicken pesto. My sister got a arugula steak salad. The steak was really rare and they didnt even ask how she wanted it cooked. the little gem caesar was good but it had way too much dressing. way too much. the dessert was delicious. butter cake was amazing! Drinks: Cocktails were really good but OVERPRICED. $16-$17 dollars for a non fancy italian spot is wild. Ciao Bella was delicious though. I would probably come here again but it is overpriced.

This was my first time dining here, and everything was a 10/10! The drinks were amazing, and I really appreciated that they were able to custom make something for us that wasn't even on the menu. Edwin was our server, and he provided truly outstanding service--easily 10/10 customer care. He was attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. We ordered the lasagna and the chicken Parmesan, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The food exceeded our expectations. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be coming back!

This was my first time visiting and I definitely plan on coming back with family. The staff were nice and accommodating. Talking to my waiter felt like I was talking to a friend, he was nice, informative, and attentive. The food looked great in the photos and it tasted just as food when I tried it. The pizza had a great balance of spice, sweetness, and smoked flavor. The garlic bread and Scampi were delicious. The red velvet was the cherry on top. The cake had a fluffy interior that wasn't sweet, the strawberry cream on top was where all the sweetness came from. So if you dont want your bite to be too sugary, you have more control on how much sweetness you want with each bit. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was clean, felt relaxing, and felt like a place I'd visit often for good food and a chill space.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend them!

Visited North Italia with my family for a night out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is spacious and can accommodate large groups.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Since it is located in RTC, it is nice to walk around while waiting for a table if there is a wait. We started with the calamari which was pretty good. I ordered the house bolognese for my entree. As a pasta lover, I thought it had good flavor but it was not particularly memorable for a house special. Other dishes ordered by my group were decent. Some were better than others, but overall I think there was a lack of consistency between being good and others just being okay. Service was fine. I had a good time and would be open to returning to try other menu items.

North Italia was better than I was expecting! I typically dont go to big chains like this because I have low expectations. I should probably reconsider this stance! The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and checked in on us multiple times! We had a large group of 16. They were accommodating to the size of the party as well as the rate at which we ordered. Since we got some appetizers, I got a salad and the meatballs and polenta as my meal. The calamari was a little chewy but seasoned well and came with a zesty dipping sauce. I really enjoyed my meatballs and polenta. The meatballs were cooked perfectly and covered in a rich tomato sauce. The polenta was very creamy and not overwhelming. I had to try to cacio e pepe martini. It was fun to try- very interesting, however I dont think I would order it again.

Conveniently located in rest in town center. I was here to shop and I was lucky to get the reservation for the same day. Reservations can be difficult especially on weekends so better to plan ahead. I had the grilled Bronzino. It came with some veggies and a nice sauce.. It was pretty good. 6.5/10 for me. It had a hit of sweetness bec of which I deducted some points. For desert I had the butter cake. The flavor they had that day was the coconut butter cake with caramel drizzle, and a vanilla gelato. Coconut is not my favorite, but I decided to try it. I am so glad I it. It hit the spot.

We had an exceptional dinner takeout this evening from here. I have been going to the original locations in phoenix and Scottsdale for years and was so excited to see this place here. We ordered the Branzino and it was exceptional and so flaky. We got a couple of pizzas and a few pasta dishes with a yummy salad. All fresh pastas made in house. The portions were great and everything was made with lots of great ingredients. Our kids loved the squid ink pasta and the fungi pizza. We also had two delicious desserts that we couldn't get enough of. The manager Cole is awesome and makes sure everything is made to perfection just like the original restaurants out west! My coworkers and I had an early Christmas dinner here. We experienced the best service I've had in a while! The server was polite and well trained as you would expect in fine dining/ expensive restaurant. I love the atmosphere and decor. They have not spared the details! I do wish the lighting was a little brighter over the main dining room but I got used to it quickly. We tried the meatballs and truffle garlic bread for appetizers- Both were amazing!! I got the scallops for my entree and it was absolutely delicious. They were cooked perfect! The tiramisu cups were so good and I loved the little chocolate beads on top. I will be back because of the food, pricing, and service was just excellent. I can't wait to checkout the cool bar area they had as well. I hope they will have a Valentines Day menu! read more

Came in the middle of the week for lunch, the place looked nice, the food was quite good and reasonably priced, however the service was subpar and quite honestly killed the vibe of this place. The waiter was walking looking down on the ground, avoiding eye contact with guests. We couldn't get their attention. The place was not busy at all, our food came all at once instead of in order of apps then bigger course and late. Salmon was missing from my salad, was brought separately. Kind of a mess. Not once we saw a manager or anyone from the staff walk around to see how guests are doing, enjoying the food etc. Pretty basic restaurant 101 things. Didn't feel like a professional staff and team when we were there. Sad. read more

North Italia in Reston Town Center (RTC) has easily some of the most diverse and best desserts I've ever had. As a sweet and salty lover, the Salted Caramel Budino was the perfect mixture of a sweet creamy custard, flaky salt, and a layer of caramel. The rich tastes all worked together to provide an immaculate experience with each bite. Although not a coffee lover, the tiramisu was balanced the chocolate and coffee flavors in the most perfect way. Highly recommend trying out North Italia's desserts for any occasion! read more

North is amazing! After a terrible dining experience at Morton's down the road we walked over to North (on a Friday night, with no reservations) hoping to get a table. When the hostess asked if we had a reservation we explained we were celebrating my mothers birthday and shared our bad experience at Morton's. The girl was so sweet, apologized on there behalf and jumped us to the front of the wait list to seat us within minutes! We did not expect any of this but we're so appreciative. Awful all around experience. I called to make a reservation for myself, the girl that answered for North said they don't take reservations within the same hour - funny, you're connected to OpenTable and they had that capability!!!!??? Arrived, no high tops in the bar, no eating at the bar allowed, so I said I'll take a table - which ended up being a single in the middle of the 'dance floor' - talk about feeling uncomfortable, I asked for a booth - sorry those are for 2 or more (80% of them were EMPTY)!!! Ok, on to dinner, I ordered a drink, told the waitress I'm going to work on some email for a few minutes and relax...no problem, except 5 minutes later "What can I get you?" - how about some time and space!!!! Finally, I felt a bit guilty, ordered the calamari - GROSS!!! Over-fried, greasy, disgusting!!!! Take it away please..."ok, I'll talk to the chef"...yeah tell him HIM/HER to taste it - I still have a greasy film in my mouth...could have been over-fried cardboard cutouts for all I know!!! Ok, I order a salad and a pizza and ask, please pace it slowly with the salad - no problem I'm told....barely half way done with my salad (delicious), and BAM some runner brings out the pizza!!! I just shake my head and tell the runner, I asked for it to be paced slowly so I could enjoy my salad....then a few minutes later the waitress presents the ever-kept warm pizza and I just fold... I say sure, but hey, 'didn't I ask you to pace it slowly'...'yes she replies but sometimes it's 20 minutes so I decided to SLAM it through' - WTF!!!!!!! I'm done with North Italia...a chain at best and at worst. Done with your authentic Italian act! I thought N. Scottsdale location was bad, but Reston is the worst of the worst! Finally an Italian place to love in Reston!!! After Vapianos recently closed in Reston, wife and I were so much missing decent Italian food near Reston-Herndon area. We recently decided to try this place out, not sure why we waited this long, and boy were we amazed !! Ordered a pizza and pasta and dessert, each item was absolutely perfect. We loved every bite. The service was excellent. We are vegetarians and like to substitute the meat with extra veggies. The server didn't know all the options / ingredients they had but was extremely helpful and went back and forth multiple times and tried his best to get us our food the way we wanted. We were both extremely satisfied and would definitely go again, probably soon. It is a bit more expensive especially compared to Vapianos but the food and service is much better. Will definitely recommend. read more

Consistently delicious! They tend to be pretty busy, especially on the weekend so get a reservation if you can or be prepared to wait 30-60 minutes for a table. The apps are absolutely delicious (get the bread and oil!) and I love trying a new cocktail every time. The Flatbread pizzas are great and the butternut squash pasta was one of the tastiest dishes I've had recently. Overall, recommended! read more

I've been to the foggy bottom branch a couple times for HH and tried their burrata tortellini (light and delicious) and their strozzapretti (heavier and also delicious). However I like this branch better than the DC one cuz it is way cozier inside. They're only seating every other table and the service can be slow at some times. The white truffle bread is AMAZING don't skip out on this. The margherita pizza is sooo good and cheesier than other places make it. They have all beef meatballs and their spaghetti and meatballs was a massive serving. Pretty tasty but a bit plain. Carb overload!!! read more

I've been wanting to try North Italia for a long time. My office is across the street (KPMG) but due to COVID, I never got a chance since we stopped going to the office. I came with three others and sat outside on a Saturday night for a 745PM reservation. The host/hostess were friendly and we were seated immediately. We really enjoyed the food. We ordered the truffle bread, calamari, pizza, bolognese, chicken parm, and a salad. All the food was great but the issue was our server. Even though the place was nearly empty due to COVID-restrictions, he was absent. He asked us right off the bat if "tonight was a drinking night" to which we replied yes. You would think that would mean he would stop back in occasionally so we could get another round of drinks but it rarely happened and when it did, the drinks were gruelingly slow to come out because "the bar is still working on it". We ordered two pitchers of cocktails and then ordered a bottle of wine bu the wine never came. We ended up closing our check out with a random server walking by which is a shame because we would have gotten at least one or two more bottles of wine. I think that given the circumstances, restaurants need a little grace. I really like this place and the food and the rest of the staff was great but our server was brutal. I'll still come back in the future, especially when my office opens again, I just hope the service improves. read more

First I want to say, the waiter was awesome friendly and apologetic, but this is a negative star restaurant!!!! First bread came Moldy!!!! Waiter was apologetic, but then I watched as they threw away several loaves of bread from the bin!! Obviously moldy. Gross!!! Goodbye Vapiano, hello North Italia! Right on the heels of the closure of Vapiano, North Italia opened up in the spot once occupied by Paolo's and Neyla Mediterranean, and was a much needed addition to Reston Town Center. The location is cute, with plenty of booth, table and bar seating, with an open kitchen. They are usually packed, but on the few occasions I have dined at North Italia, it's been later so there's been a minimal wait time. Their wine list is decent, with a good variety of reds and whites; and a good cocktail list too! I also noticed that they have limoncello in two flavors, which is an after dinner must. I haven't had the chance to try it yet, but have heard great things. The menu is concise, but filled with good options. I adore the variety of their appetizers. Albeit expensive, all of those that I have tried have been fabulous. I'm a big fan of apps, so with a group we always order a variety! The white truffle garlic bread is a nice refresh to a classic favorite, the prosciutto burrata is different, tasty, but slightly hard to eat, and the arancini are delicious and cheesy, with a delicious tomato sauce! The pastas we've enjoyed have been great, but the portion sizes are pretty small considering the prices. The best, by far, are the pizzas!! I enjoyed the prosciutto pizza quite a bit, but it was just a tad too sweet. I think fewer figs would be better, but the flavors overall are fantastic. The funghi pizza though, is to die for! It is absolutely delicious, and I would go back time and time again just for that pizza. Both pizzas were a little overly crisp, but still delicious, and neither had red sauce. You know what such a crappy feeling is? When you're looking and feeling your best and you get ignored by the bartender. We sat waiting to be acknowledged for at least 5 minutes before we were greeted, while the bartender was right behind the bar, not even busy. However, once acknowledged, our drinks were amazing! Amazing!!! My hubby took me for Valentine's Day and it was everything I wanted & more. Our server was sweet and very helpful, we didn't catch her name but she even took our pictures for us. We got the spicy rigatoni without sausage and pancetta, they were very accommodating to me since I don't eat pork. My hubby got the chicken pesto and of course I stole a few bites from him and it was incredible! My hubby also ordered the Naples white pizza and it was so yummy. The ricotta and red onions paired perfect together & the crust was AMAZING! Of course we had to get desert and we got a Tiramisu to share. Not very impressed with the food , only came here because of my experience in Kansas. The first thing we asked the server- please suggest a starter that does not have pork. We took his advice and got the grilled cauliflower. As we were about take our first bites noticed there were small chunks of pancetta! Not a good start. He then brought us grilled bread doused in vinegar, olive oil and parmesan cheese. Nothing special. The margherita was average. The chicken parmesan I opted without the marinara sauce and it too was doused in cheese. The arugula salad was fine. Lemonade was tasty. The service was fine, attentive to refill our waters and lemonade. Not impressed with the quality of the food or attention to detail. Many other restaurants in the Town Center, not sure we'll be back to try other dishes. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience, as it truly exceeded my expectations. It all started with a spontaneous decision while we were playing chess in the courtyard. The delicious aroma of food wafted over, and we couldn't resist the temptation! Given that it was a Friday night, we anticipated a long wait, but we decided to put our names on the list anyway. To our surprise, just ten minutes later, we were paged that our table was ready--on a Friday night, no less! Our waiter, Brenden, was fantastic. He offered great suggestions, was incredibly attentive, and even allowed me to customize my order completely. I also want to give a shout-out to Waad, another server who stopped by to answer our questions and brought us bread--again, all on a busy Friday night! To top it all off, the manager, Sanjay, came over to check on us. When he discovered it was our first visit, he recommended their signature truffle bread, which we tried and absolutely loved--it might just be the best bread I've ever had! As a delightful surprise, they even treated us to dessert. Typically, people write reviews to address issues, but on this bustling Friday night, we were met with wonderful food, exceptional service, and an outstanding staff. Last night, my wife and I had the pleasure of meeting our daughter at one of her favorite spots, North Italia in Reston. It turned out to be a fantastic evening filled with great food, drinks, and atmosphere. We got a nice seat at the bar, which I always enjoy for its lively and relaxed vibe. North Italia impressed us with its excellent selection of Italian red wines. I opted for the Chianti, which was smooth and flavorful, while my wife savored the Barbera, a delightful choice with a touch of elegance. Both paired beautifully with our meal. It was a pizza night for us, and we decided to try the Margherita and the Hot Honey and Prosciutto pizzas. Both were absolutely delicious and a big hit at our table. The Margherita, in particular, caught our attention as we are on a quest to find a truly great version of this classic--and North Italia delivered. The Hot Honey and Prosciutto pizza was a standout as well, perfectly balancing savory and sweet flavors. Overall, it was an all-around great experience. Second time into the North Italia in Reston. The first time I had to walk out because of the vile creature tending bar. Full-on unhinged, unprofessional behavior by this bardentress. Second time took my mom to dinner. We're Italian by blood and have had every item on the menu in one capacity or another throughout or lives. The margherita pizza was awful. It was slathered in sauce with little to no mozzerella or basil. No pepper to speak of either. Tortellini wasn't bad but the whole experience was just overpriced and underwhelming. Might come back for a cocktail or two if they remove the witch behind the bar. read more

We had an wonderful dining experience - the service, food, and atmosphere were top notch. We ordered the lasagna and the spicy rigatoni -- both were absolutely delicious. The lasagna was rich and perfectly layered while the spicy rigatoni had just the right kick without being overwhelming. But what truly elevated the night was Edwin, one the best servers we've ever had. His friendliness was incredibly genuine, he offered great recommendations, and made us feel like valued guests. Order chicken, Parm and the pasta al dente the chicken came out. It was very small very little sauce. I cut into it. It was all stringy dried out pasta taste like SpaghettiOs mushy. I said some of the Waitrss she kind of said pasta was sort of pre-cooked it was nasty. I eat out every day, different restaurants, and this is the bottom on the bottom of my list and my friends think twice before you order it. I thought it's not authentic Italian most of the stuff is pre-cooked. read more

Came here with a group of friends, by far the best customer service I've ever seen. Staff are all extremely friendly, knowledgeable and just super rad. I have an egg allergy and the chef made whipped up something for me to eat, without me asking or knowing. Highly recommend this place, Food is great, the staff the manager everything about this place is awesome. My new fav place to go! read more

So we were seated quickly but the service was pretty bad given the staff was chatting more with each other than taking care of the customers. We ordered a few items and there was miscommunication and overcharged. There's free bread and oil but only if u ask for it. That's a bit odd and too thrifty. Either offer it to all or don't. The items did taste good so I gave 2 stars. read more
