A while back i went to Kook, it was pretty dead inside. Ordered food and they brought the wrong dish, questioned it, waiter said nope this is your order. Had to grad a menu and point out to him i guess an manager it was wrong. That was fine they went made it right and comped a dessert and the food was ok. Bright and open dining area, where we seated promptly. There was only one server during this rainy Saturday at lunchtime, but she handled the guests very efficiently. I ordered the crispy chicken salad when I saw it on another guest's plate- that's how good a job they did on presentation with this one. It's very good. Warning - the chicken is REALLY crispy. My daughter is a grilled cheese aficionado and subject matter expert! She says that this is not your average grilled cheese sandwich. The addition of the pesto sauce took it over the top for her. We split the tomato bisque and, even though it was on the sweet side, we both thought it was good. She said her wedge salad was one of the best she's had. We plan to go again very soon so that we can try other menu options. The waitress was kind and let us look through the menu a while before settling on what we got. I got the "dodo bird" (chicken parmesan) sandwich with the ginger brew I love, while my husband got the steak & cheese. The chicken on the dodo bird was grilled, but I think it would have lended itself better to being a traditional fried chicken parm (or chicken tenders cut up?). It was a little bit soggy after a while. The bread itself was soft on the inside and crispy on the outside - perfect for a sammie. I can't attest to the steak and cheese myself but my husband said it was really good. The sandwiches are huge! So either come hungry or plan to share. Can't wait to try some more. read more

While they kept some features of LB (bottomless mimosas and fun land bright interior), the overall menu wasn't exciting. A shout out to Yelp friend, Nina W. for writing a review of this place. Her review brought my attention to RTC where I discovered that Kook Dogg now occupied the spot where Little Beast used to be. Also, I noted that BGR closed. We took a look at Kook Dogg's menu and noticed that as of this writing, it's still a work in progress. They say the addition of a few entrees will be coming soon. We were here for an early dinner on a Sunday. An employee, who also turned out to be our server, greeted and seated us at a 4 top table by a window. He was friendly and we chatted about the place. My husband felt he had to tell our server that their restaurant was in a "cursed location" due to the fact that it was now the third restaurant to occupy this spot. The first place to be here was The Famous Toastery (which our server didn't know about) followed by Little Beast, which he told us moved to DC. The decor was nice---tables with blond wood and some signage and art on the walls. We decided to order a medium sized Margarita pizza. I admit we ordered it with some trepidation as the place is still new. For drinks, I had a lemonade which was nicely flavored with just the right balance between tart and sweet. My husband had a can of Dr. Brown's cherry soda. We were pleasantly surprised by the pizza! The crust had the right thickness as it held up well when eaten using one's hands. As for the sauce, it had a nice homemade flavor and had pieces of tomato in it. The mozzarella portion, as well as the fresh basil were very generous. We enjoyed every bite of it! Surprisingly, we still had room for dessert. We chose to share a slice of Basque crustless cheese cake. It had a blueberry topping. While we enjoyed it, we have to give the nod to Sixty Vines' version as it was creamier. Still Kook Dogg's version is decent. We plan to eat here again. Their sandwiches sound good but, to us, they struck us as being very filling. We're going to keep a watch on the upcoming entrees. I recently came here for lunch and it was so good! I decided to get the Walter's Revenge sandwich with a side of chips and pickle. The sandwich was so tasty and it overflowed with toppings. The chips were also delicious, but I didn't need them because the sandwich was so filling. They are recently opened so now their menu is mainly sandwiches and pizza, but the menu showed they will have other entrees soon. The service was great, my friend and I had to catch up, and our waiter was so patient. Once we finally ordered, our food came out quickly. Saw these guys comment on a local page that they go above and beyond for gluten allergies!!! So it was the first pizza place I wanted to try! It was great, great flavor crust, slightly sweet. My child, a picky one, complained the sauce is too chunky! So if you aren't about that... but I think it was great, small pieces of tomato. Was wonderful cold as well! Hubs was disappointed in chicken parm sandwich, was just shredded chicken, not breaded, so not what you typically would expect. Wouldn't order again. Italian beef sandwich was pretty good. My recent visit to Kook Dogg Cafe was very positive overall, but I believe a few tweaks are needed. We arrived at around 5:55 pm and were quickly seated in a nearly empty restaurant, and then a family arrived with two very young kids and the kids were so loud and whiny that it was really grating on our nerves and we kept wondering why in a nearly empty restaurant they had to be seated two feet from us. Our server was very nice and we ordered our drinks and some wings right away. Then when the drinks arrived, we ordered our dinners. The wings arrived within 10 minutes and they were very good- crispy, juicy, and the Old Bay seasoning was just right on them. We were off to a great start. We noticed two little kids running around the restaurant, playing hide and seek, running everywhere and nobody seemed to be minding them. After they went in and out of the kitchen a few times, almost knocking plates out of a server's hands once, we realized they were a staff member's kids. My review may be sounding like we're anti-kid people and believe me, we're not- we have our own kids, one was with us, and we love kids, but between the whining kids seated behind us and the staff member's kids running around, it was just not a great vibe in the restaurant. Our dinners- a chicken salad sandwich, a club sandwich, and a pasta dish took 45 minutes to come out, but with all the chaos with the kids, it felt like 4 hours. Our food was good, good enough for us to try again one of these days. The chicken salad sandwich wasn't overdone with nuts, grapes, or any other stuff like some restaurants do, it was just plain good. The club sandwich was very good as well, and the pasta dish was very similar to Maggiano's famous "Rigatoni D" dish, and I figured it would be as it is called "Rigatoni P". The restaurant seemed to be well staffed and we enjoyed looking at the mural on the wall. The seats aren't the most comfortable for a long wait for food, so hopefully next time we come the food doesn't take so long and the staff figures out their babysitting situation because it just not a good look for kids to running around the business. Kook dogg cafe is an american style bistro that has a wide variety of cuisine and dishes from pizzas, pastas and burgers/sandwiches. It reminds me of BJs but with better offerings. Sticky ribs appetizer was highly recommended by my friends and I couldn't agree more. Must try and the flavors were just right. I also tried the chicken milanese which was fried to perfection and had great crunch with the sauce poured over it. Parking is free at the garage or outside the lot for 3 hours. To say that the food was amazing would be a major understatement!! We were absolutely satisfied with not just the food, but also our server, Elizabeth, was perfect and made our visit so much better!! Out of five stars I give this place 14! I would give it 15 if they served Dr Pepper... however the mocktails made up for it almost. Wow!!! Oh, so good! I have wanted to try this new restaurant since I heard it was opening. I came in with a friend just after they opened for the day, and we were seated immediately. Our server brought water and asked if we wanted to order other drinks. My friend ordered a non-alcoholic peach drink that was delicious. I stuck to water. Our meal kicked off with a delightful surprise of mozzarella sticks served with not just one but two delectable sauces, marinara, and pesto-lime. Combining these two sauces added an exciting twist to the classic appetizer. I ordered an amazing chicken parmesan sub with roasted tomatoes and marinara sauce, and my friend got a salad with chicken and avocado, which looked delicious. For dessert, we tried the "We Might As Well Say Goodbye," which is a warm gluten-free brownie with chocolate ice cream and some yummy toppings and sauces. It was a delicious way to finish off our meal. This local gem offers good food and service in a spacious, airy setting with a well-stocked bar. The option to dine al fresco adds to its charm, although we chose the comfort of air conditioning on this particularly hot day. Kook Dogg Café is a new casual restaurant where the sandwiches are great and the staff is super friendly. Upon entering, one can see the very colorful mural that fills the back wall - capped by a cute painted pup that hangs out on the top. The tables are comfortable with room for the large orders of sandwiches and fries or onion rings or sweet potato tots that will probably grace it. We chose the smashburger and the grilled cheese, waffle fries and onion rings. And we were not disappointed. The burger sported a tasty sauce and lots of pickles which gave it a zest. The sides were generous portions and nice and crispy. We absolutely would have gone for several of the desserts if we weren't so happily full. Maybe we'll take some to go next time because I don't think there is going to be any way to control ourselves into not eating the huge sandwiches or all the sides! The menu is extensive so there are lots of things to choose from even beyond all the sandwiches so we know we will be back. I also want to mention just how friendly the staff are at the Kook Dogg Café. Even when the place got busy, they were attentive and seemed genuinely interested in getting to know their customers. We were looking for a good but reasonably priced place to go for dinner and this place was absolutely the best. Actually better than many higher priced places. The food was terrific! And so many unique flavor combinations to choose from. I had the chicken manchego royal sandwich and my taste buds were still rejoicing hours later. While we're always seated instantly during the week, we may have to wait a few minutes when we show up on weekends. My dad and I passed this place when we were in Reston Town Center and decided to check it out based on the interesting name alone. The interior was clean and vibrant and there was a side bar that looked like it would make a popular happy hour. Service was super fast and friendly. The best part was the food. The menu had a large variety, ranging from pasta, to pizza, to burgers, but was not too extensive and not too overpriced. We shared a soup, salad, and got two different pastas and everything was amazing. The pear salad (not pictured) was delicious, the pears were nicely marinated and super sweet. The food is incredible. Got the crab dip which was deliciously salty. The beer and cocktails were really good . They have a great liquor selection. Our server was Mitch he was very nice and attentive. The restaurant was well maintained we especially liked the mural of a lizard outside.
