Really disheartening. We bought my wife's car from Honda in Boulder and it had never had the factory transmission recall done. When her transmission gave up shortly after, we had to really dig to find a mechanic we wanted to trust. Billy sold us on his expertise and did what he said was the entire recall as per Honda. Our whole family was elated to have found a mechanic, our Son took his Acura to this shop as well. My wife took her car back to them for the timing belt service and to fix some oil leaks. Not having a hoist, I considered taking my cars to Billy as well. Flash forward, My wife had to take her car back a few times because they did not do the entire timing belt procedure and it was leaking even more. After doing literally thousands of dollars worth of engine work to my son's car, within a few months the engine completely burnt and locked up. I thank the Universe that we didn't have any more of the family take their cars there after we began to complain about the shop not doing what was requested, charging us for it and having to make a few trips back until they got it as close to repaired as they were going to get. What started as OK became a nightmare of getting back a vehicle that was much worse off. My son is a working man with a daughter and at this time, because he trusted Billy's North Metro Transmission Clinic he has no car and has spent whatever money he had, and is now driving my Accord so he can work and make a living. After getting pushback and many excuses Billy finally made a family joke of his shop. Many times the factory manual service requested required us to bring the vehicle back more than once to finish what is plainly in the manual. My Son's car is awaiting scrap, so, no we didn't get the "service requested". With the time, time off work and the gas to and from, no, there was no quality. My transmission died while on the highway and had it towed to North Metro Transmission on a Friday night, selecting them at random. It was a great choice. Called them the next morning, they looked at it, gave me fair quotes for both a rebuilt and a used transmission. They did the work and I was back on the road in three days. Thanks. read more

I recently was introduced to north metro an my experience here was terrible if you want great customer service THIS IS NOT THE SPOT! You have The owner Billy I believe who just sells you a load of shit. I brought my car in last Friday for a diagnostic an still have gotten one it's Friday already I called during the week an asked if he looked at my car he said " No buddy I haven't I'll take a look an call you back Friday with the parts you will need" I been told by Enrique that he thought it was the Ecm an the cluster it shouldn't be a hard fix. An to take a look an order the parts an swap them I haven't even got a for sure answer on the problem DON'T COME HERE IF YOU NEED YOUR CAR BACK IN A MANILY TIME FRAME! I once read they kept someones car for 2 months on basic car problems they care more about the money then the customer service!! read more

Concur with both positive and negative reviews. Prior experiences with Billy have been spot on. When he is not there, LOOK OUT! Head mechanic clearly has anger issues. I received wrong shop number from Grease Monkey across the way (referral) and thought I was dealing with Northwest over the phone. (WRONG!) Walked into a hornet's nest, when I mentioned I had talked to a lady earlier. Verbatim," THIS IS A PROFESSIONAL SHOP, NO LADY EVER HAS BEEN WORKING HERE. YOU CALLED THE WRONG SHOP, AND YOU CAN'T PARK IN THAT SPACE YOU WILL BE TOWED!!!!!" Clearly NOT a professional shop if you have to yell at past customers to get your point across, Sir! Bad Business regardless of how great a mechanic you are. I would hope the owner of this establishment would concur. No disrespect to Billy here at all. very disappointed with the work from this shop!! nice people, but lousy service!! 8.5 months to repair my tranny on a warranty!! Also barely got home with my '51 Chevy, because the fluid was almost empty, and the tranny was slipping on higher grades. I had to finish the seat accessory pieces myself when I got it home. NOW, I have to have the exhaust sealed, because of extreme exhaust leakage!! DAMN Billy,,what an experience,,, also, has to buy a new voltage booster for my stereo, because they ruined the one in the car!! UPDATE, I bought a new transmission,but I have to drive to Chicago to pick it up..surely NOT going here for the installation!!! Mac read more

I work right across the street and have used North Metro several times. I first met Billy, the shop manager, when my Subaru's clutch died in the parking lot of Big o tires just up the street. They were extremely thorough with the explanation of the needed repair and even offered to show my what was to be done in the shop. This is something I generally ask to do but they went ahead and offered it. I have not gone anywhere else since then for all the positive experiences I have had. They do jobs with your parts if you choose and their labor charges are always on point. Billy is the man and cracks me up almost every time I go. read more

I had had my car fixed a few times here with no issue, the last few experiences turned me off to the shop. The last time I came by to pick up my car I found it with the windows down, unlocked, 2 rows back, not in direct sight of the front of the shop. Being that I lock it to run into the liquor store to grab smokes, I found this to be unacceptable. I have no idea how long it was left out front, totally accessible to anyone who wanted to reach in and grab something, as I hadn't told the owner of the shop when I'd be by to pick it up. When I expressed my chagrin at having it left out like that the owner dismissed my concerns claiming he could see it and had an eye on it. He was rude and dismissive. In spite of my vehicle needing other repairs I avoided using his shop again. Some time later I was shopping around for a replacement engine on another vehicle and gave them a call, figuring on giving the shop another shot. The owner gave me a vague estimate on a junkyard engine, if he could find one. He claimed finding an engine new or rebuilt for that vintage was impossible and finding an engine at a junkyard and rebuilding it was my best bet. I again was left with a sour taste, as I was able to find new/ remanufactured engines for it all over the Internet and available through autozone, advanced autoparts, and checker. I'm not sure if he was just not as knowledgeable as he put on or if he was attempting to pull the wool over my eyes, as I'm female. Either way, don't care, I had someone else replace the engine and do the overwhelming amout of mechanical work my old pickup needed. This shop probably lost out on 10000+ dollars on labor on that vehicle. The last straw occurred the other day when I figured I'd try and give him another shot. I called asking about replacing the compressor in my car. I asked for a quote to replace it and he suggested that it may be something other than the compressor. I told him he had told me it needed replacement soon last time he had the car. He replied with "well I probably gave you the price then." I told him it'd been a couple years so I don't recall a price. He gave me a wishy washy "eh maybe around 500" "quote". I said ook, and before I could say anything else about scheduling it and how long it would take he said "ok bye" and hung up. 3 strikes and yer outta here! I won't try to do business with this shop again. The compressor, inner tie rod ends/rack and pinion (1576 for the two as quoted by my other shop), & lock gremlin won't be done here. read more

Billy is a con artist that will tell you what you want to hear. I went in with transmission trouble paid for a full rebuild, it still leaks, and came out with a ruined front differential. I specifically asked multiple times if they had checked my vehicles gear boxes and was told that they were fine, well they weren't and I could have saved a lot of money know this. After three visits to the shop they finally told me that I needed a front differential, that they would call around and find a used one. After two weeks of not hearing anything from the shop I stopped by on a Saturday only to be greeting with a "I haven't found your part" instead of "this is what I did to try and find it". I was then given a list to find the part on my own and sent on my way. Nobody at this shop knows anything about gear boxes and do a crappy job with gaskets, unless you like con artists and a leaky newly $2600 rebuilt transmission go somewhere else.
