There is a decent community pool complete with a slide for thrill seekers. There is a lot of chatter around town about Gordon Square, North Collinwood, Ohio City and other neighborhoods getting hip. I hope that Birdtown in Lakewood can make the same transition. Madison Park serves as the anchor.

They also have a playground, soccer field, and basketball court; all of which people were using. I'd say this is very active well used park. A paved walking trail can be found here that gets you throughout most of the park, but more like a U shaped perimeter path than a full circle around though. They also have restrooms, a picnic shelter, a water fountain, and plenty of parking. A busy but nice park; I would visit again.

My daughter and I went together, and it was such a relaxing and refreshing experience. We walked about a mile up to the hill and watched the moon come up, which honestly felt magical. There were lightning bugs all around us, almost like little fairies, and the whole setting felt peaceful and secluded. The group was small, which made it even nicer, and the park ranger leading the hike was so sweet and did a wonderful job. I wish I had gotten her name because she really made the experience feel welcoming and special. I loved the property, and we will definitely be back to hike there again. Such a beautiful park and such a memorable night.

They helped us get fitted with jackets and kayas. Offering singles and doubles. The lake was great to paddle on and much larger than it looks. There are 4 tennis courts covered by a fence and it is a "first come, first serve" deal so the sooner you arrive, the sooner you'll be able to get a court to play on. The courts are a hard court surface and they are well maintained and kept clean. The surface feels good to play on. Just outside of the courts are some benches/seats and a dustbin (trash can). It's not the biggest, or the most glamorous, but it's got plenty of open space for running. There are toys, water bowls, hand sanitizer and a separate area for small dogs. Archie walked in and immediately made a friend with what seemed like a breed of sheep dog. What I loved about this park was that it wasn't packed with folks who were sitting on benches with their coffee and not watching their canines. Tremont seems to attract owners who want to interact with their dogs and play with them while they're here. Since this was my first doggie park experience, I was a little worried about Archie running off or misbehaving with other dogs. The owner of the sheep dog quickly informed me that he wouldn't get out and to relax and let 'em all play. Great advice. One thing I could do without is feeling like I'm playing next to a radioactive power plant. I kept thinking I was going to leave here and develop a third eye from the toxic waves. Not a great view. I also wouldn't come down here alone at dusk, but during the day I don't think that would be a problem. Lastly, we didn't bring my boyfriend's son with us this time around, but we plan on it next time. There is a huge playground right next door for kids and since I know he'd get bored in the dog park within 10 mins, it would be a perfect situation for an energetic 6yr old.

This location is beautiful. The folks that manage it are committed to returning it to it's original wild beauty. They are in the midst of a large project to remove all the invasive species and replant with everything native to the area. So far they have done a marvelous job. I can't even imagine the cost involved. They are taking donations if you want to help. There is a large marsh area you can walk through on raised walkways and see all the work going on. There is another very large wooded area with nicely marked and maintained trails you can stroll through and just enjoy the beauty of the natural habitat. The main lodge is a very nice facility with plenty of room for children to play and classrooms for education. I highly recommend you take a sunny day and visit the "Nature Center at Shaker Lakes". See for yourself. It's a worthwhile project.

Pretty decent size for a dog park too. and seemed clean in general. Con's- As other's have said it's pretty much a gravel sandy plot of land. Which is unfortunate, as this dog park is in Rocky River park. So as you pass all these BEAUTIFUL trails and trees and then doggos get this kinda ugly park. I don't think the dogs care, but I was a little sad, I'm not gonna lie haha.
