Horrific! Brought my 2024 Honda Odyssey in to have accessories installed. They were happy to overcharge me compared to Huntington Honda, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt because they are my local dealership and i wanted to establish a relationship with them. I was then told by the two service advisors that my car was out of factory warranty, and any repairs would have to go through my extended warranty. I stated that although i am the second owner, the factory warranty of 3 years/36,000 mile and 5 years/60,000-mile warranty is still in effect since the vehicle is only 18 months old. They stated it was not. I flew off the handle. How can Honda service advisors not know that their factory warranty is still transferrable to the next owner? I was also overcharged for the accessories that I had installed. The one factory warranty I had was with the windshield molding pulling away and they could not even attempt to repair that properly. I had a local glass shop properly repair it. Carlo stated that the windshield at one point was replaced causing the weather stripping to pull away. ITS THE ORIGINAL HONDA GLASS! Even has the Honda insignia on the passenger side lower window. But he was just looking for me to pay cash instead of helping a customer that just spent $800 with your service department. Lies.. and more lies They actually illegally told me the price of the used car listed online changes if you don't finance through them, even though their website specifically says "not contingent on financing". Tried buying a used car. I was told online price is non negotiable. i did paperwork online and received a contract for the price plus DMV fees. When i walked into the dealership and did not accept the terms of their financing (too high interest rate) they miraculously decreased the interest rate by 2.5% .... But they added a $900 bank fee and said I had to buy an 8 year warranty for $2400. The monthly payment went up not down! So i went to my bank and got approved for my own loan - I no longer needed the Honda finance dept. Of course, when I went back (same day just a few hours later) the sales rep was no where to be found, and the finance guy says he will help me. When I told him I wont need Honda financing, he told me the price is now a cash price and the car is now $2000 more - simply because Im not financing through them, even though website says itherwise. They claim to be family owned and an award winning dealership but they are liars. Absolutely nothing professional about them. Don't trust this dealership. We took a used car on their lot for a test drive and heard a grinding noise. We were still interested because they said it would be repaired. They called to let us know it was repaired. 2nd test drive, it sounded and felt good so we left a deposit. They sold the car out from us and didn't honor our deposit as security. It took several phone calls and an email to get the deposit back. They said it would take longer due to the Govt shut down, lol...the banks are not shut down. I told him I had a comlete brake job at the same dealer less than 5 thousand miles ago and was charged $950.00. After he knew I was on to his hustle he suddenly approved the inspection. Think before you buy here! When they have sold you a car they won't provide you help after they have delivered the car. We bought a Honda certified used car. We looked at the car before it has been detailed and had gone through the shop. They said that anything that's not up to par would be repaired or replace when it's a Honda certified car, as well as before it gets delivered it will get detailed and polished. A $600 detail job. Which is charged to you at the end $695 dealership prep fee On the drive home the visor on the drivers side was falling down. Which is a very easy fix. We called them when we got home to let them know this. All I asked for is for them to supply a replacement part. I can install it. They declined helping. The car wasn't detailed very well. The paint wasnt polished! It feels gritty like theres sand in it. First time it rained the grit on the window was so bad that the wipers make a horrible noise. The lady in the business office was rude and disrespectful to my 83 year old mother who's was the one who was buying the car. Be very aware this dealership won't help you after they have made the sale . We agreed to $3800 down and when I came to trade in my car and pick up my new one they wanted $6200 after they removed my plates, took my keys and I changed my insurance over. The agreed money down amount was documented in an email so there was no denying I was intentionally mislead. They made me give them $5200 which was still $1400 more than what we agreed to. I spoke to the sales manager and he gave me $100 accessory for the car. I left a message for the general manager and never got a call back. It's unfortunate to have buying a new car be such a negative experience. I will not be going back and would recommend you buy a car anywhere else. read more

Stay away! I was told my disposition fee would not be an issue and would not have to pay it if I re-leased a car through them. After signing a new lease, we received an invoice for not only the disposition fee, but a purchase option charge as well. As a result the loan was not closed and considered in default for the entire amount of the car which negatively affected my credit score which became a time consuming process to clear up. They ultimately removed only the purchase option charge but still held me responsible for the disposition fee. They agreed to pay 1/2 of the disposition and are now holding the balance captive until I purchase/lease another vehicle through them. After getting at least 7-8 cars through them over the last however many years, this is the "loyalty" thanks we received. If they want my future business they need to make this right , and reimburse the remainder. I would have expected better treatment. Completely unacceptable! read more

Entering a dealership to me, is one of the most distasteful tasks. I dread the negotiations, arguing about all the dealership add ons which are usually a scam to inflate the bill. So those were my feelings when I entered North Shore Honda only to be surprised by dealing with Mr. Roy Martin, who is the most kind and jovial person to deal with. He is friendly and willing to work with me to my satisfaction. I then met Mr. Richard Cirillo, who is in charge of financing and was surprised again to find him to be a most kind, agreeable and honest person. the bill and the statement were as discussed. There were no add-ons or inflating of the bill. This is amongst the friendliest and most honest dealerships that I have ever engaged with. Avoid this place - shady and slimy dealership practices. They took advantage of my elderly father - he went in, wanting to lease a Honda CR-V EX (MSRP is $31,380). Him and the salesman agreed on $35,380 (+$4K dealer markup because of the shortage, I get it). Additionally, he traded in his previous car, a VW Tiguan, for $10,000 (currently for sale on the dealership's website, for $15,995). HOWEVER.. When it came to meeting with the finance manager, Val, she took it upon herself to jack up the price to $38,625.34.. and then added another mysterious $996.93 charge, bringing the gross capitalized cost of the car to $39,622.27. Let's break down this "deal": * $12,170 down * $289.92 for 39 months = $11,306.88 * $21,966 balloon payment Add all that up and... $45,422.88... for a CR-V EX that had an MSRP of $31,380 (with no add-ons whatsoever - no extra accessories, nor warranty/maintenance packages)? Where did this extra $14,042.88 come from? Well, let's look at this a little further.. The dealer markup was $4,000, so that leaves us with $10,042.88. My dad's trade-in was valued at $10,000. They essentially stole his trade-in by rolling it back into the cost of the car. Now, yes, I get it, it's the responsibility of the buyer to read the paperwork before signing, but as I mentioned before, my father is elderly, had a lot of numbers thrown at him throughout the day, and had spent nearly 7 hours in the dealership trying to get this car. However, the fault does not solely rest on his shoulders - this incredibly slimy and dishonest dealership should face consequences for taking advantage of people like this. Mr. Conrad -   Since North Shore Honda, Glen Head New York is a Honda franchisee, I am hoping that you can assist in the resolution of this matter. I am sure that dishonest dealers are a negative reflection on your company.   On October 4, 2021 I purchased a Certified used Honda Clarity PHEV Touring from North Shore Honda along with a vehicle service agreement for $2850 underwritten by the Zurich Insurance Company and I cancelled the service contract with Zurich on November 18, 2021, well within in 60 day full refund cancellation date. (I have since replaced it with a genuine Honda Care contract). North Shore Honda claimed that this was the official Honda Service Contract, but underwritten by Zurich, which we all know is a lie.  Under the Zurich contract, I should have gotten a full refund ($2850), but instead North Shore Honda submitted a check for a refund to Santander Consumer (the holder of my auto loan) in the amount of $565 which was cashed by Santander on 12/13/2021. Santander was supposed to be able to apply the full $2850 refund to my auto loan. As of today, 3/12/2022, the missing $2285 has still not been received by Santander. Based upon the Santander interest rate for the loan, the outstanding refund since 12/13/2021 is accruing interest of $0.9065 per day, or about $91.00 to date, bringing the amount owed by North Shore to about $2376. North Shore Honda claims that the $2285 that they stole was a "cancellation fee". There is no such fee mentioned in the Zurich Contract or purchase invoice. read more

Posting this review to warn others about our stressful experience with Northshore Honda and their dishonestly (mainly from the finance guy Richard). We did end up purchasing a honda hrv from here in Nov and we like the car, but we did not have a good experience. We saw the car we wanted on their website and inquired about it at the dealership, only to be told in order to get that price you have to pay a fine print amount of $2K or finance the car. Since we have good credit we went the finance route to get the better pricing which was agreed by sales guy. We had to pay $500 deposit before meeting with the finance manager. Once we went into the back office with the finance manager, Richard, that is when everything changed. We were bullied into purchasing hondacare for $2000. And when we said we didn't want to, he said we were "not smart" because he's been in this business for a long time and people regret not getting it. Even so, it's none of his business. If I want to be dumb let me be! In the end we were forced into buying the hondacare because according to Richard in order to get a better finance rate we had to or we would have a higher rate and have to pay a "bank fee." All of it was complete bs. And he said we can't pay off our loan until 7 months later (you know, so we can pay that high interest rate). By that point we were tired of arguing back and forth and signed the contract. Richard gave us the contract and of course left out the last page of the hondacare where it states you have 60 days to cancel it, which we ended up doing and not having to even go through this dealership (you can just email honda directly!). And if you want to be smart and get hondacare you can repurchase on one of the many online hondacare seller for 1/3 of the price! Also we called the bank where we ended up financing with to ask if we could pay the full amount in our first month and they said yes so we did that too! It has been awhile since we've purchased our car there so I hope this business has changed its model and tactics. Honesty and good customer service is always the best in retaining and building more customers. After our experience here, we will not be a returning customer and will not be recommending it to anyone. read more

I researched the car I wanted on line. I knew exactly what I wanted. They reached out to me telling me that they had it on the lot ready to sell (February 2023) We live in the South Shore so it was a bit of a commute to get there, but being that they had the car we ventured. Only for them to tell us that the car was sold. But not to worry they were waiting for a shipment, again, with exactly the model and color I wanted. After calling and calling our salesperson, Rich, who promised that the car would be there "any day" we finally received the car this past MOnday. Four months later! What made it worse was that Rich perhaps called us twice to keep us informed. We had to consistently call and "nag". We also ordered the liner and cover. We were told it was on "back order" so I guess four months wasnt enough time to make sure they had it. Rich told us that he would bring it by on Wednesday, yesterday, still nothing. No call to apologize, no call to let us know what happened. I called him and left a message but I know he will not return the call! I cant wait to be done with this dealership! With being a-palled by my experience coming from a HONDA dealership , I asked for the manager twice and was either left on hold for an extremely long time , or was sent to the voicemail box of the manager. I went to NS Honda on Saturday March 13 to look at a certified pre owned Civic LX with a manual transmission. After going back and forth between them and Huntington Honda, I got an offer I couldn't refuse upon the contingency that the Civic was taken to my personal mechanic to look it over. On Tuesday March 16th, Johnny drove the Civic to my mechanic about 20 minutes away who did a thorough inspection. When they gave me the green light I went back to NS Honda to finalize the payments with Rich. John the sales manager and Noel the Sales associate made everything super easy. The interest is a little high but you can refinance after 7 months and by that time I don't mind paying just $70.00 to $80.00 in interest in those 7 months since I got such a great deal. September 2023, I came to North Shore Honda (Glen Cove location) to trade in my Toyota 2018 for a Honda CRV. Vinny was my salesperson. Rich Cerami was the finance personal. To make a long story short, when in the process of going over the numbers and sealing the deal. Rich tells me "I am giving you a warranty." YES, those exact words. At the time I don't think much of it because I'm thinking he is gifting me a warranty for buying a car from him. A few days later I get my first bill from the bank loan, and I notice that it's more than what it should be. I start doing the math and looking at copies of paperwork. When I come across a paper I signed for the warranty and on the top, it states the warranty cost $3,500. Of course, Rich never mentioned this, he made it seem that it was a gift, by him using the words he used. And while I was signing, he covers the top and gives you a summary of what you are signing, and I trusted that I was signing what he was saying. But that's my fault, no matter how long you been in the dealer's office take the time to read, lesson learned. People cannot be trusted especially not Rich Cerami. We went to look at a car on Tuesday. We thought about it and then wanted to come back on Wednesday but were unable to come back on Wednesday because the salesman was leaving at 3 o'clock . If The salesman had said to us if you guys wanna hold the car I need a deposit, we would've been more than happy to give them money at least a credit card over the phone. We came back today , Thursday, May 5 and were told after we sat down after we looked at the car and the sales person said let's do the paperwork, that the car was sold. The sales person never bothered to even look to see if the car was sold this morning. It was no sold sign on the car in the car and the keys were freely given to us. this is so unacceptable and so unbelievable I would never ever suggest that anybody come here. Generally, my wife and I have dealt with professional, non-pushy sales staff here. I was in yesterday and Noel was extremely courteous and professional. I went back today and dealt with Carey who was completely the opposite. I was in there ready to make a deal and from the start he acted like my business didn't matter. He actually said from the start that nothing is negotiable and "Honda doesn't compete with anyone". He completely mailed in his job. When I asked for the quote printed, he said "just write it in your phone". Most rude and unprofessional salesperson I've ever dealt with. Honda doesn't compete with anyone?? They literally committed the crime of what I believe is called grand larceny (stealing over $1,000) and charged my credit card $1,500 without my consent. While not being a lawyer, I'm certain it's at the very least credit card fruad. I'm writing a brand new review here because I want Yelp users to know that just copying and pasting the one I did on Google reviews isn't enough. The world needs to know the extent of the deceptive ripoff that is North Shore Honda. Without getting into every sob story detail of this, after getting a competing quote from another dealership, I asked what they could do for me here. I have in writing, an offer from North Shore to sell me a car at, and I quote, "21800 + Tax ( Florida Tax and DMV Charges." I had never purchased a car out of state but I figured a Certified Honda with under 30k miles was as reliable as anything anywhere. So after reading the Yelp reviews that talked about the bait and switch tactics of N.S. Honda like the advertised price not including the 2k down payment and only being available if you finance through them, I figured all these people who were giving low ratings were just idiots who didn't read other people's reviews first. For starters, they overnighted me the paperwork without ever telling me any of the terms. In fact, they asked me to get insurance which I did and sent over to them but they never even confirmed they received it. But it was close to the end of January and we both wanted to close this deal quickly. I called the next day to ask if everything was okay and if they were going to overnight the paperwork so I could book an autotransport and they told me it was on my doorstep. They hadn't even told me they were sending the paperwork, much less give me any explanation of it or give me time to approve it. When it came in, my 21,800 was over 25k (32,774 after the 5.5k of financing charges were added on). Again, none of this was explained at all. There was a 2.5k Honda Care plan that I never agreed to. And my all fees included in that price was utter b.s. - they charged a $309 filing fee that had two asterisks next to it and on their own document those ** had a note that said this was an "optional dealer filing fee" and there was also another "dealer doc fee" of $75. Now in what world are these Palm Beach County tax or DMV costs? These are dealer fees, fees that I was told in writing were included in my 21,800 pricetag approved by their sales manager previously. I call Rich, he agrees to remove the charges but says I have to keep the Honda Care to finance with the bank that has shorter mandatory minimum holding of the lien before I could refinance with my own bank. I looked up sample dealership contracts with BB&T and this was utter b.s. - no bank cares if you get an extended warranty. So I call the sales manager. He says if he can get the shorter term minimum loan without the Honda Care can we go forward with the deal. I say as long as all the other fees are removed and you guys honor what you said to me was my price. He tells me we have a deal and goes to work on the paperwork. I ask him to email it to me before he wastes more money on FedEx in case there's something else he missed. Well he emails me the new paperwork and it comes with literally every fee on there that Rich said he would remove. I ask Jay to remove these and he yells at me and tries to guilt me into paying their stupid dealership fees by saying he spent all morning rushing to redo this paperwork for me and that he's not able to come down any more than he already has. I told him I needed them to be their word with me and honor our agreement and he said he thinks it's better that we go our separate ways. It was at this point that I realized they had charged me that additional 1500 that would have been the remainder of my 2k deposit back on January 31st (it was already February 4th) and we clearly never had any deal like that where I authorized them charging my card for the cash on delivery portion of my bill - nothing had been delivered! The worst part for me is that the car that I had the competing offer on has now been sold and my $100 deposit I put down with the car transport company was non-refundable. This place is the epitome of a sleazy slimy car dealership only concerned about one thing, money. I leased a car from them on 10/5/20 and after about 1200 miles I get a CEL for a misfire in cylinder 1. Long story short, I have brought the car to the service dept. at least 6 times only for them to tell me nothing is wrong with the car. They had the car for 2 days with no contact to me telling me what's going on. I had to show up at the dealership to speak with someone only to be told that they are sending data to Honda for instruction (BS). When I leased the vehicle (for a higher price that was "guaranteed" to me) the saleswoman and manager made sure to mention the "free" service included in the deal several times. Finally, the truth came out as to why I had to bring my car there several times without anything being done to fix it only to have the same issue occur over and over again. When I demanded the service manager come to the phone and speak with me after being told he's "in a meeting" he said that he's not getting paid for his work and time put into it (no work was done) and that he should be charging me. These people really think their customers are stupid and can be walked all over. This is a BRAND NEW car that I work hard to pay for. Who's going to pay me for my time? For my missed days working? For my wasted gas driving back and forth to their dealership several times? For more wasted gas because the gas mileage is 10mpg less than it should be due to the problem with the car? I've been lied to, given the run around. Told there is no fuel in my oil pan when anyone with a nose and two eyes can see that there is. Told that the car isn't idling rough when anyone with a butt can sit in the car and get free deep tissue massage. Told that there are no error codes when a CEL light came on and the scanner I had to purchase for $100 because they wouldn't diagnose the car as promised clearly indicates there is a P0301 code. I was instructed on how to clear the code from the service manager on the phone by disconnecting the batter and touching negative terminal to positive only to be played a fool for and told I shouldn't have cleared the code when I brought the car in the last time. This is very concerning, I've been a Honda customer most of my life (4 Honda's) and I'm very surprised that North American Honda allows unscrupulous dishonest dealerships such as North Shore Honda to even operate under their name. It is Friday the weekend before thanksgiving and my car is disabled for the entire weekend as I was instructed to wait for a call from Honda in 3-5 days. Great job North Shore Honda! I hope you all can rest your head well at night knowing you screw your loyal customers over. See below for what I have to look forward to every time I start my car. North Shore Honda - Check Engine Light every time I start the car! (2,500miles) - Car Dealers Near Me - Glen Head, New York

All the negative reviews here are true (their marketing ploys to get you in the door, fine print and all that - however not altogether unexpected for car dealerships). I went in with my husband to look for a used car. After hours of negotiation, we came to an agreed upon price with the sales manager, John. We submitted the financing application based on the agreed upon price (bogus fees and all), and returned the next day to finish up the paperwork (banks were closed when we went, another thing they lied about to get us in the door,) and pick up the car. We completed the financing and AS we were paying for our insurance policy, John the sales manager rudely interrupted our phone call with the insurance company to tell us that he couldn't possibly sell the car to us AT THE AGREED UPON PRICE because we did not want to purchase an additional $2500 warranty with them. What am I doing right now? Standing outside the dealership in the rain, waiting for a cab to go home (have now spent $200 in cabs/train fare back and forth to the dealership), trying to cancel my new car insurance policy on a car I couldn't buy. And feeling insanely jealous of the less foolish guy who walked out on them an hour ago without even bothering to negotiate. Oh did I mention John, the manager has come outside twice now. Once to offer us the car at $2000 above the agreed upon price, and once at just $1000 above the agreed upon price. At this point I wouldn't buy the car from you if you tried to sell it to me for half the agreed upon price. I've never met scum like this in my life before - and hope you read this and never do. Customer service is terrible. They make you feel like you're bothering them. Did you forget that we brought the car from your dealership? How about some appreciation for the business? Ask them to do a maintenance check and they wanted to charge before they even looked at anything. Mind you, we have a maintenance contract that we pay monthly. I like Honda's but take your business to another location. This place is just terrible! A bunch of useless people that hate their job. read more

This place is a joke. I've had problems with the car I purchased here from day one, every time I bring it it they tell me everything is fine. When I call back, they say bring it in (as if all I do is bring the brand new car in for service) and when I do, they can't find the problem or it's all fine. They have the audacity to call me every week and tell me I need to keep maintaining the scheduled maintenance to take care of the car.... I'm stuck with this car now but as soon as I get rid if it, never again will I go near this place. read more

Buyers & leasers beware. The employees we worked with at North Shore Honda were among the most unethical and non-transparent people my mom and I have ever dealt with in the car industry. My mom and I went to NSH looking to buy a certified pre-owned Honda Civic for my twin sisters. From their website, it appeared that NSH had several in inventory that were in our price range and fit our criteria for mileage, color, etc. We came in and met with Cindy, a sales associate, to discuss the different options and test drove a Honda Civic. After test driving, we were ready to make a deal with Cindy. We were quoted a figure (inclusive of the certification fees, dealership fee, taxes, etc.) and asked Cindy several times if there were any additional fees we would expect. She told us this was the price we would pay. We asked whether we could buy the car out-right, and she said we would need to finance a portion with the dealership and scheduled for us to speak with the finance manager. We then put down our deposit of $500 with this price in mind. We waited about an hour to speak with the finance manager Joe. My mom and I are new to buying cars but we did our homework and were asking Joe specific questions about the term of the loan and the amount we would be required to be put down. In response, Joe said "Why do you care so much about the details? No one asks these questions, it's a simple car loan." We then asked the exact amount that would need to be put down and what would be financed. This total amount was $3,500 more than what Cindy had quoted us. He said that because of bad credit, we were required to purchase an additional $2,500 warranty and were being charged a $995 bank fee. We asked several times about the warranty, as at ALL other dealerships the extended warranty had been an optional purchase. He told us that "everyone gets this warranty" and said the price was non-negotiable. He also ran my mother's credit through NINE banks, of which one accepted. We asked at subsequent dealerships whether this was normal, and they said absolutely not. A good finance manager would have known before going out to the banks which would be the most likely to accept the loan given the credit profile. We understand you cannot expect much from a used car dealership, but this exceeded all of our expectations of the typical "sleazy" car salesman persona. We are getting our deposit back and have since bought an Accord at Nardy Honda, where we received the utmost service and care. read more
