Adding the Shark Dive to our trip right before heading to the island was the best decision we made. This was the most incredible experience I have ever experienced. We arrived a little more than 30 minutes prior to our charter time, unfortunately the captain missed us at check in and we joined a later charter which worked out really well for us. Captain Ken was our boat captain and he was very kind & knowledgeable, he provided us alot of information prior to us taking off and while we were out on the water. He also had floating camera handles he allowed us to use - thanks Ken - we didn't even think about this. The First Mate & crew on our charter were great and very informative. It was whale season in Hawaii while we were there so we were able to see sprays from the whales on the trip out to the shark encounter area. We were able to see whales breaching the water in the distance, we also saw alot of sharks. The charter takes us 3 miles off shore & then hooks up to the shark cages that are tethered out in the open water while charters go to and from. It is about a 20 minute boat ride out to the shark cages & 20 minutes back. Each group gets so spend roughly 20 minutes in the shark cage, getting up close and personal with these majestic creatures. Captain Ken took some video footage from a pole camera and we were able to be in the background in the cage, the video provided by the captain was clear and a great perspective. I am so glad that we added this to our trip because this was hands down one of the coolest experiences of my life! I would definitely do this again, on our next trip to Hawaii. read more

First, the trip started a little late. They were about 15 minutes late to pick us up since the last charter had run over. No big deal, but we wish they could have at least told us since we had to show up 30 minutes early, we were standing around for almost an hour with no real communication about them being late. Because they were late to pick us up, they seemed a little rushed, telling us we needed to make sure we were quick and rushing us into the water. I get that they were behind but it wasn't our fault. The water was very, very rough. Which is not the boat's fault either, but just a warning to others. I have heard sometimes it's super calm so I am sure it's likely time of year, but when we went it was bad. Almost every single person got seasick. Also, when you go in the cage, it's almost worse for the seasickness. You are getting tossed around badly inside that thing. We actually had to hold on pretty hard. We were given some cool facts about the sharks and the waters, but it was like 5 minutes worth. We wish they would have talked with us a little bit more. Also, they were very thorough with instructions regarding safety of the cage, which is great. They gave no instructions about the mask and snorkel. I guess they just assumed everyone understood, but we had one guy get in the water and asked how to use the snorkel. I guess overall, when compared to other boat tours we had went on in Hawai'i, this one just doesn't compare. They provide no drinks or snacks (which again is okay, but for the same cost on another boat we were given them). Seeing the sharks was super cool; I just don't know if it was worth it. read more

This was an incredible experience for our family of six (children ages 11-17)! Shane was very kind and accommodating on the phone and we were fortunate to be able to book this the morning of the tour! The boat ride out to the experience was about 20 minutes and super shaded as the boat was covered so no sun burn. The sharks were immediately visible from the boat which was fantastic! Our family had 20 minutes in the cage and saw about 12 sharks up close! The kids were diving down to the bottom of the cage. It was an absolutely incredible experience! Our tour guides/captain, Dustin and Tim, were very informative and made everyone feel very comfortable (even my youngest who was a bit apprehensive about doing it). I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to see Galapagos sharks up close! We will not forget it! As an aside, I would definitely recommend Dramamine if you have any propensities to motion sickness. read more

We went as a family of five, including our youngest at 11, who was a little nervous going in but it turned out to be the choppy waves that got her, not the sharks or the cage! I can't believe I actually did this!!! What an incredible experience. Thank you to the staff who were so helpful and knowledgeable. They made the whole experience so easy. Going in the cage and seeing all the sharks was a surreal experience. I went from being terrified to the ocean and sharks to confidently saying I would do this experience again! There were 10 of us on the boat, and we went 5 at a time inside the cage. There was plenty of space inside the cage too and we got to bring our on go pro to record! Please beware if you are prone to getting sea sick! I did get sea sick waiting while the other group was in the cage, and I even had motion sickness patches on. The crew was very kind and let me sit at the back of the boat which did help a lot, and gave me some great tips to help the sea sickness. It was one of the best things to do! heading out there on the boat was a bit rough. they take your about 20ish minutes out to sea. during the ride i felt nauseous BUT i expected it due to my sensitive stomach. staff was super cool and understanding. They made sure i was ok. If your sensitive to boat rides be prepared. I have wanted to go Shark Diving for years. We finally got the chance. The crew of the boat was great. I knew I got sea sick but had taken precautions against it. Right as we got about three miles out and to the cage I got sick. Diving was impossible because of my sickness. My husband however had the time of his life. The sharks that you see are called Galapagos Sharks. The biggest one was about five feet long. The cage is not closed so we had four people in it. There was plenty of room to move around. It was an amazing experience if you don't get sea sick. read more

I spent a week in Oahu with my best friend who lives there. She arranged for us to go shark cage diving which was one of my lifelong dreams. She chose the best place for us to go. They were amazing. Such nice people. I was so excited there was two groups of us, 20 minutes each group. I was the very first person in the water, and more than half of my group got out early due to seasickness. They could see I was having the best time of my life, so they told me that I could just go ahead and stay in. They let me stay in with the second group the whole time. It was amazing. I've never been treated so great by a company that could see the excitement and happiness in my face to let me stay on longer and not make me have to pay another $100. For them to see the excitement and happiness I was having, and to let me stay in with the next group meant everything to me. I was actually the last person out of the last group. So I was the first person in the with the first group in the last person out with the second group. I definitely got my money's worth plus a lot more. Best memories ever and again, if you want to have a great experience while you're in Hawaii with some of the best shark cage handlers there are, definitely set up your experience and make reservations with North shore shark Adventures. They exceeded my expectations. Such nice people. And I plan on going again very soon and when I do I am calling them, they actually reached out to me and told me they appreciated how much I enjoyed myself. There were 6-8 sharks during my dive as well as a barracuda which was such a sight to see! Very safe, never felt out of control, truly a miraculous experience! Piece of advice is to bring a go pro or a secured waterproof case that you can wrap around your neck and hold on tight to/draw strong wrist band. After looking at some sites online, my sister and I both agreed this was the most enticing one to book. We booked a few weeks in advance online which was really easy. The site was really informative about what to expect, what to bring, and they gave great directions. This was the last thing we booked on our week long vacation and it was the one I was most excited about. They ask that you show up 30 minutes prior to your appointment time. Once it's your time you get to board a spacious boat that has a picture of the shark you'll be seeing at the back. You get paired into groups and each group gets 20 minutes in the cage. The boat ride is about 20 minutes to get to the cage. They give you clean and sanitized snorkeling masks but you can also bring your own. They did mention shark infested waters but I have to say I was SHOCKED at the amount that we were able to see. You can see them circling around from the boat but it's even more amazing to see them underwater. The water is SO clear. We had the best time and would love to be able to do it again. It's a magical experience to be able to see them up so close. read more

The water was super choppy due to the wind but once you were off the boat and in the cage that didn't matter. You can bring your own face mask and snorkel or they will provide you with one. You go into the cage with several others and to view the sharks just stick your face in the water. You can go down farther than just your face (obviously) but that's up to you. We saw lots of sharks when we arrive where the cage was set up from the boat. It was incredible! This was a bucket list item for me and I'm so excited to have checked it off! The crew was kind and helpful and they stopped the boat on the way back so we could see a pod of dolphins playing near us. Well worth the money and please remember to tip the crew read more

My son has a severe ear infection and someone at the hotel stole my wallet, including my driver's license- I filed a Honolulu police report. I called the business the day before the tour and had to leave a message bc no one was answering the phone. The next day, I received a flurry of texts and emails calling us "No shows" and refusing to refund even a part of our $420. We are leaving tomorrow and could not reschedule even if we wanted to (for an additional $400). You have to put your departure date to sign up, so they knew this. Do not patronize this business.
